I definitely wish there was a way to mute a person at SP. Your opinion isn’t law, dude! Just because YOU think it is right, does not make it so. Berating others for disagreeing with you, belittling, and being a snide know-it-all is no way to win people over. That’s just how the posts read to me, surely they weren’t intended that way.. but that’s how I see them. I wish I could mute you. I’m tired of your constant arguing about what is and isn’t “healthy”. Your facts are not always right. Sometimes, yup.. you are. Sometimes, no you are not! The arguing in the threads is ridiculous. Just because you “know” does not make it fact. Prove it. Other people posts facts, stats, links to SP articles that clarify the knowledge as it is known at this present time. Do you? No, you just keep repeating yourself in a more emphasized manner. That don’t make it fact, buddy.

I wouldn’t mind if these “facts” were maybe on his SP blog, or something, so long as it’s not written as final health requirements.. but crap.. people can’t even post a comment on the forum without having to get into this massive argument. I wonder how many people just give up on the forums because of that crap. I can’t even read the threads in that section because I’m sick and tired of seeing the “facts”. Arguing on a diet/fitness forum is just the dumbest thing ever. You feel like big man on campus yet? Opinions are one thing, but when you’re constantly cramming it down a person’s throat about how right you are and how wrong they are.. dude.. it gets old.

It’s gotten old. I need a way to just block all your silly statements off my screen.

I don’t even post there because I just know you’ll have some “wisdom” to add to the mix and I just don’t want to hear it. I just don’t, man. Your “facts” are just opinion. Big difference, mister. This blog entry here, it’s opinion. It’s not fact. I can’t state without a doubt that you’re snarky and annoying and like to bully people into agreeing with your statements, maybe it’s just your writing style that makes it seem that way. Maybe in person you’re a super cool dude who we’d invite over to play video games on a regular basis, who knows. That makes this all my opinion, not fact. I don’t know you, I can’t judge on the facts there now can I? Nope. Opinion. Say it with me.

That is all for now.

Oh man… I am worn out. I am glad I am doing this indoors, definitely do not feel strong enough to attempt this outdoors. I’d be afraid I wouldn’t be able to walk up the drive.

So today was a repeat of day 1. Stretch 5 minutes, walk for 1 1/2 minutes, jog for 1 minute, repeat.. 20 minutes, then stretch for five more. This time I walked around regular, but did the jogging on the mini trampoline. That was much easier on my hip. I think I have a shin splint going on in my left leg, it’s hurt yesterday and today. I’m doing some stretches I saw Coach Nichole do, so that’ll help I’m sure. I’ll do them off and on through the rest of the day and until my leg feels better.

It’s only my left leg, and that’s the side with the hip pains lately so it’s probably all related.

I am so tired now ugh. I still have about 300 calories to burn too! In a while I’ll get the hula hoop out and play with that while I watch some tv.

Today I fixed basmati rice, it is really good. I soaked it for 20 then cooked for 20, and food dyed it. Nomnom!

Plus I had soaked some brown rice overnight, long grain. Today I cooked it up, took an hour. Very little stuck to the bottom of the pan woohoo! *high five* I’m getting better at cooking rice on the stove top. It was perfect, I made rice balls! The last time I tried, I didn’t do the pre-soak method, I just cooked the stuff. It was too brown-ricey.. you know? Today it was much better, not mushy but definitely clingy. So I mixed some mashed peas in, a wee bit of olive oil and had at making onigiri. I put a bit in a 1/2 cup measuring, packed it down. Put a bit of chicken I cooked up earlier, it was left over from bentos for today. Put it diced in the middle, packed more rice.

Plopped it out onto a plate and whabam! Instant disks of rice!

Later I’ll fix the other quiche recipe and this evening I’ll get things bundled up for going into the freezer. Then we should just only have to cut up fruits/veg and pull stuff out of the freezer for the next few days. Once I figure out what else that can freeze for bento, I’ll be able to add to the rotation.

I do not think my finger does like it should. The videos say you move only the top stick.

I hold out three fingers (not pinky, not thumb) and while holding the two sticks in my other hand. One goes under the bottom. One goes between. One goes on top. The problem is that my bottom finger doesn’t seem able to hold that bottom stick. What’s the trick? I don’t know, they don’t explain that. I can move the top stick better now though, after a bit of practice in wigglign it around.

But the bottom one, it’s driving me crazy. It flops around. Time to find more videos.

I did like the one that seemed geared toward children, it was translated and it’s how I got the “Hold out three fingers” method. I don’t know what to do with the bottom finger exactly I guess. Hmm.

It’s almost time to eat, I will either be eating until dinner time or I’ll give in and grab a fork. haha

I have a bunch of different rice, none of it is good for making onigiri! ARGH!

Today we bought two more types, both of which turn out to be not meant for this. One bag is Comet Brown Rice. The bag doesn’t say it’s long grain, but the website says it is. Too bad, would have been nice to know that before I bought it! I already have two other bags of long grain brown, don’t need more for a long while eek. Gonna have to remember to take it to the library for the food bank box. Then I bought another bag called basmati. Never had it before, but after getting it home.. nope, it is not meant for rice balls either. I can’t wait to try it though, I’ve never had any other rice except white or brown. They also have a bag of jasmine rice, we didn’t get that though. Eventually I want to try it too.

Shamey shame on the grocery store for having a huge area of rice and none of it is the right stuff. I don’t think people out here buy japanese or sushi rice. There is a section of japanese ingredients, but no rice! That section has gotten better in the last year though. They have a bunch of other neat things, even have seaweed wraps. Lots of packet/noodle type things. Like you add water and it’s instant tofu miso soup (which is sooo good). Yet they don’t sell the stuff to make miso soup aside from that. Lame! So if you’re going to make wrapped rice, using the seaweed wrap… where is the rice? I have no idea. Maybe it was just sold out and something else was merged into the spot for now. I think I’ll ask if they can special order me a bag of it.

I’ve been checking the Ichibankan USA site for bento stuff. EEK! I love the Clickety Clack stuff. They don’t have a bear box right now though. Boo. What are the triangle boxes for, keeping rice balls in? I forgot to see how big they were, they look like they could hold carrot chunks or grapes even. I think I might get us a couple of the ivory and black sets, I forget the name.. I think Bitter&Milk? That way we have the bag, the band, the two tiers. I like the blue one with the poka dots too, but it’s not a full set.. it’s one of the 1.50 ones. CUTE! The blog says more stuff is coming in “a few months”. I think that means I better order what I’m after, then order again when a few months arrives. I would so love to go to their real store and wander around.

In a bit, I’ll set up some brown rice to soak using this method here: Just Hungry’s Brown Rice Cooking The kitchen sink stays cool in the night this time of year, so it should be just fine overnight. Then tomorrow I’ll fix me up some rice balls hopefully!

I bought some teriyake sauce, and I have chicken I’ll set for thawing. Then tomorrow I’ll do a couple tests. I’ll shred a carrot for one pot of rice, add food dye to another. We’ll see what kind of pretty rice we end up with! If it won’t stick together, well.. then I guess I’ll cook up some extra chicken and we’ll have that and some peas for our bentos. Along with bunny apples, because it makes me giggle to think of my husband eating his heart shaped carrots today.. and bunny apples tomorrow. With the guys. In a cute elephant box. EEK! I told him he could have whatever box he wanted, pick out a couple ziplock bowls or something.. he said whatever was good. So *shrug* I had the elephant bowls out, so that’s what he got hehe!

It entertains me. He probably doesn’t care and the guys probably don’t think anything of it either, but it totally entertains me!

I hope he didn’t forget what I told him. Do NOT microwave my elephant!

The quiches I made today were very good. So we’ll have that for bento again in two days. I have spinach thawing to try another recipe, but the sink stays so cold that it’s not thawing so great. I’ll have to make that tomorrow too. Too tired to stand in there cooking anyway. It will be very nice to just cook maybe on Sunday, and have not much to do during the week for fixing meals. That’s my kind of cooking. Then all I’ll have to do is thaw the stuff and bam, instant lunches after I chop vegetables and fruit.

We use the crock pot a lot, as well as make cassaroles, pizza, stuff that will last at least two days or more. I need to find some more crock pot recipes, most of the ones I did used ot make aren’t exactly so hot for the calorie range I’m staying in. Need some healthy, but tasty stuff, that’s filling without breaking the calorie bank.

I’ll let you know how the rice project goes.

My quest for cute lunches, yarrr!!!! *stab stab*

My legs are very tired now, but yay I started it! It keeps raining and I’m tired of waiting for the weather to quit crapping around. So I started today indoors with the C25K program. I don’t expect to keep on track with it, I think I’ll be repeating weeks along the way. Especially with as tough as today’s was. It looks like it’d be easy, but dang.. it isn’t! It starts off just fine then bam.. by the last two jogging sessions eek.

Couch to 5K

Then I walked back and forth until my legs weren’t crampy and sore. So I got a good portion of my cardio done for the day, just need to burn 200 more and I’ll get that between hula hooping and DDR. I need to do some yoga too, I’ve been very slackery with that. It’s a real hassle to try and do yoga when my nose is so runny and my head is so cloggy feeling. Downward dog is not only drippy, but painful to my brain when I feel like this. So maybe no yoga today. Bleh.

After the C25K stuff today, I am super hungry. Ate the carrots from my lunch, but I am still really hungry. Need to go see what calories I still have for the day that aren’t pre-scheduled. Can’t take it, too hungry to do any more exercise.

How is it that I forgot all about making myself bento lunches? I had a brain spaz apparently. What better way to have fun lunches every single day than to put them in my elephant container, woohoo! I have two that I got at a dollar store a while back. I don’t know how long ago, but at least a year I guess.. because actually now that I think about it, I think the last bento I made was for my ratties <3 I didn’t realize until tonight, when I was using StumbleUpon and saw a bento sit ethat I had quit making them.

Now let’s see here, usually I have a sandwich, grapes, carrots for lunch. I think I will have to look up some fun recipes that fit in my day. I will have to do a test in the morning, make a sandwich and see if the jam oozes. Can’t stand when the jam eeps into the bread from sitting too long.. ugh.. so nasty. Then I can prep the grapes, maybe the carrots.. these carrots are about on their last day so may hav eto wait till I get fresh ones to do cute little stars and stuff.

I have never yet seen a square egg mold. I can’t believe it! I look every time I’m out too, which seems pretty amazing since I quit doing bento. I’m on a mission to find that thing and look at it. I think square eggs sound tasty. Then tonight I was looking at the Just Bento site. Eek, she made cute rice balls in various colors, I love it. I wouldn’t have guessed that she made them using vegetables for color just from the photo. I like riceballs. I just don’t really know what to put inside, but I think I’ll do a bit of soy sauce chicken. I think that sounds good. Next time we get tuna, I’ll save a wee bit to put in too.

May have to order rice online though, neither of the choices we get out here are very good. Long grain brown, and regular white rice. Maybe there’s some on the japanese food section, it’s gotten bigger than last year. They have the seaweed type papers, and some various noodles, but still no miso soup stuff.

Tomorrow I’ll wash out the elephant boxes and put my food in! Then lunch will be fun and cute.

On the Just Bento site, there’s some apple design. I’ll have to try that this week too. Cute apples are more fun.

It is raining, still!

We went to the new steakhouse today, it’s really good! I had bbq chicken, baked potato, and a great salad. Stayed well within calories for lunch too because they don’t drown the chicken in sauce. We got both our meals, plus drinks, for about 16 dollars too. Hopefully they can manage to stay open. It was good portion size too, not like some restaurants that pile the crap on the plate. They did a good job. I took a menu too so I can search out the food in SP to find out whether or not some other meals will fit into my diet. I really wanted a burger but I didn’t know what a kaiser bread is for calories.

We’re fixing chicken and rice tonight, still about an hour till it’s done. Hurrrry up. I need to go check my calories and see if I need to fit more food in. Didn’t do 500 calories burned today, becuase for the week I was over 3500 burned. So I’m taking the rest of the day off, too tired anyway. Had to take another nap today, ugh. It’s miserable to feel so tired that I actually manage to get to sleep in the day. Makes me feel lazy.

p.s. I reminded him about the cable

This is the kind of day I can’t stand. I felt medicated this mornign when I woke up and just got up from a nap, so I’m feeling slightly less medicated now. I need to get some more water down and see if that helps.

Think that maybe I need to see what day this happened on recently and keep track of it all. Wonder if maybe my cardio times are too much. I’m not sure if I’m just being a slacker in thinking it’s too much and maybe just need to get through it, or if it really is too much for my muscles right now. Or maybe I’m just coming down with something. Either way, I feel a bit like cat poo today. At least now I’m able to think a bit more. It was tough getting groceries today, had trouble reading the labels because my eyes were so tired.

We did good though, this time I wrote two grocery lists. One for him and one for me, then I approved the stuff he brought back heehee. He’s getting better! I think everything was right except the sausage, and it was okay.. but the spicy is better on the pizza. The one thing in the entire store that we cannot find is pizza sauce! Two weeks ago the brand we usually use was on close out sale. I bought a jar and we used it up I guess. I don’t remember, but now I don’t see it in teh cabinet. Today the whole make-a-pizza display is gone! What I don’t know is where’s the pizza sauce of other brands? The only reason we used that other brand was because I can’t find any other kind. Today we got spaghetti sauce to use instead. Where’s the pizza sauce? I have no idea. Since they moved that display with the boboli dough and the parmsan cheese… I’m not really sure where to get the cheese at now. We don’t buy those doughs, I make my own pizza crust.. but yah I definitely need the cheese because it’s an ingredient in my dough! I’ll need to buy a new canister next month probably, so I got time to find it.
