If you are interested in an event where you can meet people who are different from you then you should come to The Secret Challenge Event.
We provide an easy and fun environment to make new Japanese and Foreign Friends who you may not normally meet.

What happens at The Top Secret Challenge?

You will be put into a team of UNLIKE minded people. Creatives, Professional, Academics and Ambitious people will have to work together to solve a problem. The problem will only be revealed a few minutes after the start of the event.

Tuukka Toivonen and Mikako Ichimura visited OpenCoffee Osaka last Sunday where they told us about Kansai RISE. Here’s the info:

昨日はありがとうございました！早速ですが、社会起業・イノベーションに関心を持たれるメンバーに（昨日もアナウンスしたが）知らせがあります。今週の日曜日（４月１日１９時３０分〜２１時３０分）に梅田でアツイ集まりが行われます。実際に起業している方々、研究者やこれから関わりたいいろんな分野のエネリギッシュな人約１０人〜２０人が参加します。目的は情報交換・アクションにつながるネットワーキング・SE分野の関西における強化です。このイベントの仮名は「関西RISE」だが、それはどんな中身にするかは皆さんに日曜日にアイディアを聞かせてもらいます。僕自身のささやかな提案は、RESPOND – INNOVATE – SUSTAIN – ENTERPRISE、です：）
追伸　Kansai RISEのFacebookページ、そしてウェブサイトを一緒に作りたいボランティアを募集しています。是非助けてください〜　IT・social mediaの力を120%借り手これからの集まりやプロジェクトを成功させたいと思います！

Our first “KANSAI RISE” gathering – meant for those interested or involved in social entrepreneurship & innovation – will take place this Sunday (April 1, 19:30-21:30) at Accent Cafe in Umeda! Please come along freely. We don’t have a website yet but will put up a page shortly. You do not need to sign up but we may run out of seats rather quickly so please come early. The concise meaning of “Kansai RISE” is up for grabs & will depend on your suggestions this Sunday. My own, slightly forced suggestion is ‘respond-innovate-sustain-enterprise’ (all verbs!). I’m sure you’ll come up with something better

TechSpace is a ‘networking while working’ event. It is a place where business owners learn from each other, IT-professionals help each other out, and freelancers find their fun working environment.

TechSpace is a place for everyone. Every week we welcome students, designers, artists, freelancers, business people and more. It is fun, informal, and social. Working at TechSpace is not as distracting as working from a coffee shop, yet it is a lot more fun than working from home.

Weekly on Friday, from 13:00 to 18:00, TechSpace takes place at the office of messa.in & messaliberty. Come visit us!

messa.in recently introduced a co-working guide. Many of our site and event visitors are interested in these places since they provide a comfortable and stimulating working environment. This is not only caused by the space itself but especially by the co-working community where people help each other, learn from each other, and become friends.

As of now there we listed the co-working places in the Kansai area. Later on more functionality will be added to this page. Take a look at the co-working page if there is a co-working place near you!

OpenCoffee Osaka | Christmas edition

On December 24th we are having a special Christmas edition of OpenCoffee Osaka. That means extra food, drinks, and fun! In addition, Asami Shinohara is doing a presentation where she will tell us about her experience in leading Web Management teams in developing and running websites for demanding clients.

General info:

OpenCoffee Osaka is a networking event where you can develop local and international relationships in a relaxed atmosphere. You can meet professionals in different areas. Among visitors are designers, programmers, event organizers, entrepreneurs and more.

OpenCoffee is free to attend. Below you can watch an introduction video and a “how to get to messaliberty” (the venue of OpenCoffee Osaka). We hope to see you at one of our meetings!

Branding of Santa

As the Christmas season is approaching the Finnish industrial designer Juho Viitasalo will be presenting about the branding of modern Santa Claus. Have you ever asked yourself ’what is the brand experience of Santa?’. Or ‘How does Santa rank up to other corporate brands’? Than this presentation is a must for you.

In addition Juho will tell something about his own designs and projects. The presentation is on Friday December 2 from 19:00, and will be held in Japanese. Please bring your own drinks and send an email of confirmation to email hidden; JavaScript is required if you are attending Desingers’ Salon 11th edition.
