Just look at it–we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are.” - 1 John 3:1 Message

In our human pursuit of all things fair, we may be tempted to think God loves us all the same, but I actually don’t believe this is true. The term, “same” sounds as though we might be replaceable. Like, “Oh no I broke the glass I bought at Target last week I hope they still have the same purple ones in stock.” Or “My dog just wandered off the grid, that’s ok I will substitute another one that I will love just the same.” In the realm of God’s love you are irreplaceable.

God does not love us equally… he loves us uniquely.

If you are a parent of more than one child you may already understand this. When that second, third or more child is born, your love is not divided it multiplies. Your love for each child is unique. Each child awakens your parental love in a different way. Interestingly you may love something unique about one child that is the opposite trait of something you love in another. I love her feistiness & I love his gentleness.

Equal also implies love may be measurable and it is not. Our Father’s love cannot be likened to a pan of brownies or a cherry pie that is painstakingly cut into equal portions so that no child feels slighted. His love is not a matter of portion control…it is far vaster than that. He loved you before there was a beginning and his love for you knows no end…it is ever lasting. Our father’s love is infinite. He does not have love for you (like here is your perfectly sliced pie piece)…he is love for you. Our Father’s love is infinite, intimate and unique.

Asher & Sophia: my grandchildren that I love uniquely.

You are uniquely loved because you are uniquely created.

When God created you he had your unique heart expression, smile, and voice in mind. There are facets of your life that reflect his love uniquely in our earth. He wove all these exceptional aspects and specific talents into the DNA package of a you.

This means if you are a son he does not love you more, if you are a daughter he does not love you less. He loves both genders uniquely. There is nothing accidental about any aspect of you. God was highly intentional when he wrote the story of your life and knit you in your mothers womb.

So what does this mean to you? Infinite is more than enough immeasurable inexhaustible love for all. Don’t try to be someone you are not in an attempt to earn the love and acceptance of others. Don’t compare yourself with another, there is no need for comparison or competition. You will only exhaust yourself. Be a true friend by being the authentic you. His love is more than enough. His love for each of us is equally unique. So celebrate unique & don’t settle for equal.

Keep it on the download

Books for the World

We recently heard from the man who oversees the Burmese distribution of The Bait of Satan. He has faithfully served the Lord most of his life and has done more work for the church in his country than anyone else I know. This brother spends much of every day ministering to prisoners, feeding and housing refugees, holding evangelistic campaigns, and teaching at the many jungle churches and Bible schools around the country.

He writes:

Dear Brother,

We are so happy to visit the Messenger International website and
listen to its downloadable messages, which gave us more views to minister
for His holy work in the future. These audio messages are
so needed for our world today, which will give us many chances to
change the lives of thousands. I downloaded “A Heart Ablaze Session 1″ and its a great sermon
for our Christian leaders in any places. We had a totally packed house and more in the overflow room (probably close to 400 in attendance). The expectation in the atmosphere was strong as the people were ready to receive. The Word came forth so strongly that it took me aback. Many responded to the call to flow in the true grace of God and prayed boldly to live an extraordinary life. The altar call was amazing. There were over 25 who responded to receive Jesus! One 30-year-old man told me the next day that he had a vision of Jesus at the altar call. The presence of God was so tangible and strong. I was overwhelmed.

Wednesday night… I was at Sure Foundation, pastored by Evan and Shenobo Carmichael. The doors opened at 5:30pm. Pastor Evan came to me in the green room around 6:15 pm so excited and said, “John, starting at 5:15 people were lining up outside to get into the meeting. Now the auditorium is packed to capacity and the overflow room is also full with over 150 people in the overflow.” (There were over 500 people) He then said, “It’s mind-blowing the expectancy that is in the auditorium right now.” I thought the night before was strong, this night was even stronger. With more than 500 in attendance I preached for 90 minutes and it seemed like 30 minutes. The people were on the edge of their seats. I preached on “Arm Yourself” and there was such an authority. I gave the call for those who have been complaining in hardship and 80% of the people stood up. It was glorious. I then gave the altar call for salvation and Pastor Evan reported that over 45 people came forward to receive Jesus!!!! Amazing!!! The presence of God came in and Pastor Even said, “I was amazed at how strong it was and how the people were weeping in God’s presence.” He said, “John, our church has gone to another level. I know it.”

You are a HUGE part of the fruit of these meetings and all the others. Remember King David, who is a type of Christ, said, “All must share alike: whoever stays behind with the supplies gets the same share as the one who goes into battle.” (1 Sam 30:24) David made this a rule, and it has been followed in Israel ever since. . You are those who stay home with the supplies. You are very important to what is going on in the field!!!

So I want to encourage each of you in your partnership. Seventy souls came into the kingdom in just these two weekdays in the big island of Hawaii. They are so grateful that we came and ministered to them.

It’s Thursday night and I’m going into a very excited church meeting in Kona on the Big Island. I’m so pumped!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all you are doing to support Lisa and me in what God has called ALL of us to do. You are amazing!!!

To Jesus be the glory!!!

I love you all,

John

<p

They met during Sak Saum’s first trip to a Malaysian shelter that helps girls trafficked from Cambodia transition back home. For Ginny, it was love at first sight. Devi’s warmth, beaming smile, and go‐get‐it attitude made for an instant connection.

Devi is the oldest of 5 siblings. Over the years her mother had acquired a great deal of debt on a piece of land, and the weight of her financial irresponsibility caused her to put tremendous pressure on Devi to generate income. When the opportunity arose for Devi to work as a domestic laborer in Malaysia, she dutifully accepted. The job was a ruse, and Devi was trafficked.

Tricked, abused, and left to despair, Devi found the shelter in Kuala Lumpur. When Ginny met her, she had already discovered how to use the shelter’s sewing machine to design clothes. Her kindness and maturity made her a tremendous source of encouragement and life to the girls around her. Even though she didn’t know God yet, it was clearly only a matter of time.

Devi returned to Phnom Penh in June and immediately came to Sak Saum with her mother. The spiritual battle over her life was intense from the start. When her mother learned that Sak Saum was a Christian organization, she forbid Devi to be involved. Devi respectfully obeyed. However, through prayer and loving conversation, after many weeks, Devi’s mother softened and allowed her daughter to return.

Within a few weeks, the love of Christ opened Devi’s heart and she became a Christian. She recently shared her testimony at one of Sak Saum’s human trafficking outreaches. The reality of her experiences helped break through the barriers of deception and ignorance to deeply move those who heard her story.

To this day, Devi continues to experience intense pressure from her family. These relationships can be intense and difficult. Please pray that the seeds planted in her life continue to grow and that the Lord will use her life to bring freedom, joy, and hope to many more.

<a

We are thrilled to share wonderful news of one 11-year-old girl who will be reintegrated into Cambodian society within a few days.

This girl had a simple wish: to own and ride a bicycle for the first time. All her life, this wish had been but a dream because the exertion of riding a bicycle was beyond her physical capacity. In September 2011, she traveled to Singapore for major heart surgery. Since then, she has recovered wonderfully and now lives a life full of energy!

We’re pleased to report that our young friend is now the proud owner of a brand-new bicycle, which she was taught to ride by her older house sisters. She can’t wait to take her bicycle home. There it will become her means of transportation to school, markets, and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Her final check-up with a cardiologist in Siem Reap is scheduled in a few days, and all results are expected to be clear and well. Shortly after, she will return home to live with her grandparents. She was elated at the news of her reintegration, jumping and squealing when her counselor announced the date to her. Her family are also thrilled to hear of her successful recovery and upcoming move home. Once settled in with her relatives, she will attend Khmer school. All those who care for her understand the value and importance of a good education and how it will to provide her with the best future possible.

As she prepares for the journey home, she is receiving ongoing counseling support and life-skills training, as well as lessons in personal safety, defense, and health.

Relentless Webcast

News

John did a live stream at WaterBrook Multnomah Publishers, where he discussed his new book, Relentless.
