New Glasses

Well this past month of June was a good one. I continued to work on my internship and stay busy with school. I did get new glasses (see pic).Having worn glasses from 18-months to age 16 and then not wearing glasses for almost 11 years, I have to now wear them again. It's different, being older and all. I tend to respect them more and take gentle care of them. I'm sure I did when I was younger, but I just don't remember the gentleness and care I have with them now, than I did back then. I spent about an hour picking out some ones that would look good! Andrew thought it was boring, as I looked at the many choices to choose from, but he came anyway and was a good support! Thanks!! Hope this well help with the headaches I have been getting. After having headaches for no apparant reason, and taking IB profien, and also eating, thinking that might be it, they were still there. It's no big headache, just annoying and just there. So hopefully glasses will work. I have a stygmatism and after looking online one of the causes is headaches, so we we will see as I continue to wear them. (only been a week). It's so wierd to get used to again, after going so long without them.

School has been going well, still surviving my 15-credits + my internship. Will be glad when it's over and we get a break again.

We just pretty much stayed around here for the 4th. We watched a little parade they have by our house and that was fun. We got a bowl of candy out of the deal which was cool. I watched some fireworks from our apartment and we had hot dogs. It was a good holiday and we were also glad to get Monday the 5th off of school!!!

Also last month my friend, Katrina, from Georgetown and her mom came to Utah and Katrina is going here in the Fall!!! We got to give them both a tour and look at the dorms. It was so much fun to meet up with them! It will be so much fun to have Katrina here in September!!!

15 Credits and an Internship... Here we go!

Well it has almost been a week of school. (Tomorrow will be one week). I'm currently taking like I said in the title 15 credits. I'm taking a Business Sales Class, a public speaking class, a typing class, an enterprenuership class, a professional writing class (english), a marketing class, and my internship. It's alot of work, but I think if I stay up in all my classes I will survive. On top of the credits I'm trying to do 8-hours a week doing my internship.

As for my internship I'm a virtual assistant for a lady at MoreGood Foundation www.moregoodfoundation.org. So far it's been pretty fun! What they try to do is put good things about the church out there on the internet. They have 300 websites, YouTube sites, etc..., and also support the mission of the church. Also they have taken Elder Ballard's counsel in the April 2004 General Conference message that says "We cannot stand on the sidelines while others, including our critics, attempt to define what the church teaches." Elder Ballard has also said "Join the conversation by participating on the Internet to share the gospel and to explain in simple and clear terms the message of the restoration."

Introduction

As you may or may not know, I am happy to say that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Now, before you entirely leave this blog and browse the rest of this site, let me just invite you to hear me out.

First of all, I have a great respect for those of other religions. Whether or not I agree entirely with their beliefs or not is totally beside the point. I love learning about other religions and contemplating what they believe. However, I also am quite aware of many of the prejudgements placed upon those who are members of the so nicknamed "mormon church". Therefore, I invite you to comment on my posts and ask questions, but ask that comments, questions, rebuttles, and so forth be respectfully presented.

Second, one of the most important things about discussing religions (or anything for that matter) is that I believe that we should always speak as truthfully as we can. If we are unsure as to the truthfulness of anything we have heard or read regarding any religion, we should then endeavor to learn what is true and what is simply just a rumor.

With all of that said, I hope you enjoy reading the blogs under this category. Many of these posts will come from my heart and will express how I truly feel about these topics. If you have questions about the LDS Church and don't wish to bring them up to me directly. Feel free to drop me an e-mail with your questions and I will be more than happy to answer them in a future blog. Until next time. Take care.
