Police K-Pop collection and new ambassadors at 30th anniversary

2013-11-12T08:58:00.000-08:00

Marking the 30th year anniversary in the industry, Italian high-end eyewear, Police launch new line of K-Pop collection and Philippine brand ambassadors in an exclusive celebration held at K-Pub, The Fort Strip Taguig on November 12.

Police has made high-regarded name in providing cutting edge eyewear such as the iconic blue tinted mirror sunglasses since 1983. One of these styles, introduced in the late 1980’s, was the double profile glasses, a unique design with a square and classical shape which embellished the frontal part of the face.

Meet the new ambassador of Police Eyewear

In 1990’s, Police introduced the rock and roll lifestyle and urban fashion to its line of eyewear. After three years, Police made another splash with the introduction of the iconic blue mirrored lens. The style became a great success and continues to be popular today.

“For 30 years, Police has maintained its tradition of producing trendy, high-quality eyewear and accessories. For its anniversary, we continue this tradition by introducing a brand new line that evokes style and attitude, two qualities that can be found in all of our products,” remarks Police Brand Manager Stefano Bozzo.

Police is continuing the trend by riding on the K-Pop wave. From Korean TV dramas, K-Pop music, food and fashion, it’s no doubt that K-Pop is here to stay. Bozzo reveals that on it’s 30^th anniversary, the brand is set to introduce the Police K-Pop line.

The event hosted by Kc Montero shortly introduced the three ambassadors after a giving away several top of the line Police eyewear to the guests. First to showcase one of the fine line piece of Police eyewear on stage was the young top male fashion blogger David Guison, the gorgeous actress Roxanne Barcelo on her voluptuous cocktail dress and adored hunk model Will Devaughn.

Global brand ambassadors such as Bruce Willis, George Clooney, David Beckham and Antonio Banderas brought their own unique appeal to Police. The youth also became a focal point of the brand, when Police launched its Be Younique campaign in 2010.

“This year and for the last 30, Police has been committed in producing eyewear that isn’t just an accessory, but a lifestyle essential that transforms a person’s look and enhances facial features while protecting the eyes. It is through cutting edge eyewear that Police helps individuals showcase their unique style, no matter their personality or taste,” concludes Bozzo.

Boracay Escapade October 2013

2013-10-19T09:40:00.000-07:00

Escapade: incident involving excitement, adventure or dangerous experience.

Boracay is one of the first on the list of tourists destination in the country. Located in the northwest tip of Panay Island in the region of Western Visayas.

In the real sense of the word, it was indeed an escapade. Sure, it was planned few weeks before and no way of knowing what might happen between planning and the actual day.

Hopes are not good enough to booked in a rainy season. Had to leave Manila with, I think, storm signal number 1. ):

See, the group carrying an umbrella heading to the airplane. :)

Was with the group that I am, somehow comfortable to be completely myself with. I honestly
knew myself to be on the go and manages to find something special no matter where I am. To those moment, being carefree in a so-called paradise was totally a Boracay experience.

First night was just rightly smooth to start the fun :) After all, we deserved it after getting tired from the plane-van-boat-tricycle ride.

Had a bot or two in Cocomanga Shooter Bar then hopped to Club Paraw for the epic dance of the boys. :)

First day.

Well, I'm not really a beach fan, you might easily guess why. But Boracay made me enjoy the stay!
Not just the beach, it's also the perfect sunset, finest white sand, water adventure, crazy parties and numerous activities that opens the excitement of oneself.

We spent the morning exploring the long stretch of Boracay beach. The shore was full of tourist from different walks of life – locals and foreigners. Local kids were making sand castles and a donation is needed in exchange for a photograph. We had photo shoot while waiting for some friends to arrive and have lunch together.

Henna tattoo, flying fish and banana boat.

We had this package of P550 for flyfish and banana boat. The two work similarly, but I think
going flyfishing is more exciting. I seriously had to hold on for dear life since I'm not a
swimmer while being dragged by a speed boat. Excuse me for exaggerating, of course we had our life vests on. Some who fell off said it was actually fun but some also not dare to let go. This ride got us all screaming and cursing. I'm glad that I survived and definitely do it again.

This was the first time of the group to join the BORACAY PUBCRAWL. You have to pay for 690-750, discounted fee for girls :), inclusive of t-shirt, shot glass w/ holder, baller band and some discount coupons of various bars from Station 1 to 3. Not bad for a high pay.

Five bars in one night! Some were notable of their ambiance, cozy, chill, classy and watering
hole. You would notice the crowd that there are more foreigners than local. I think, no explanation is needed. :) There's a rule that you only drink on your left hand .If you get caught using your right, there's a penalty, you shot your drink straight or several push ups.

Second Day.
ATV, ocean tower, helmet diving or reef walking, and Jetski.

We rode the ATV all the way up to the Ocean tower, one of the highest point in Boracay. You will have a 360 degree view of the entire Boracay island. The stairs is quite stiff with approximate 140 steps. We also tried the biking, hanging bike.

I was nervous at the idea of placing a 20-kilo helmet with oxygen on my head allowing myself
to go down to ocean floor. I was actually shaking after dipping into the water. After a
while, I managed and tried to sat down to look closely to some starfish and corals.

Night life was so alive – beach bars, bands playing and fire dancers. Third night was a swift chill to extreme party, from acoustic bar at the beach to dance party.

Third Day.
Island hopping, snorkeling and the hot Puka Beach.
We get to watch the amazing sunset with the view of the white sand, turquoise waters and sail boats.

Fourth night.
We stayed at the Sand Bar cooling down for the past days and nights of extreme adventure and
party. We enjoyed watching the fire dancers, amazing how they dance gracefully while manipulating the fire.

I will surely be back soon and will try other activities like parasailing, paraw sunset sailing,
zorbing and again, flyfishing! :)
See you soon Boracay!

Credits to the group for the photos. :)
