The next step along the way to walking out into the world as an unencumbered person is getting rid of clothes, if not entirely, at least to a great degree. Since summer began, I've started noticing how annoying clothes really are. But how to be selectively naked without offending anyone, that's the real issue.

Hey bpar,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. My take on Revelation is that it is a summation of the political state of the world in the late 60s AD, expressed in the peculiar ingenuous poetic language of the Jews. The message is a set of warnings about how to deal with the upcoming fall of Jerusalem and near-fall of Rome.

Hey Micah. Interesting and awesome to see that you're a rocker. I'll be working in LA in music/tv next year with my composer nephew. Enjoyed sharing some of my thoughts on "hell" and God, in general. I'll have to look up The Redding Brothers. Have a good one. Peace.

These are my thoughts...and how I process my relationship with God. God is Love. That's all you need to know. Love doesn't know hatred, anger, punishment. When we die, we all become one with our creator. The rest is an unknown adventure. "Hell" is created in our own minds and we suffer in it, here in our life on Earth, as a result of our individual conscious disconnect from God. We can choose to live our lives in hell, or choose to live our lives in heaven. Jesus was trying to explain unexplainable things to us, but always with the basic message, "God is Love, and God Loves all". I have experienced many wonderful revelations from the Bible, but none from the book titled, "Revelations". This book, I believe, consists of rantings from a man who had a psychotic hallucination for whatever reason, and maybe the story wrapped up the events of the New Testament very strangely, but very nicely, according to some early "scholars". Let's not forget that the Bible is a book assembled by men. "God inspired"...yes...but "God inspired" alongside countless texts written throughout history. Love God, love yourself and love others. That's all you have to remember. That's all you have to know. Be blessed every day. Peace.

More and more I see this as the only real way of interpreting the New Testament message ... that all sins for all time for all people have *already* been forgiven. But what that actually means, I'm not sure.

I think this makes sense. I am a Christian, but I was raised not to be afraid of God, more like love him. We have a very strong relationship now, and I think such an amazing God wouldn't send people to such a horriable place, would he?

Whoa. Beautiful, yet incredibly depressing. No wonder you write such weird songs. :-)

I have a lot of similar melancholic feelings left over from childhood, but I remember none of the things you mentioned, probably because I was too young.

It is a pleasant message. But typically, radicals, anarchists, libertarians, pacifists, mutualists, vegetarians, christians, and religious reformers have been filled with a lot of anger. I think this undermines their influence - when someone is seen as negative and angry all the time, the mainstream is less likely to be attracted to that lifestyle.

For me, because it's so easy to come across angry, it's been important to focus on just how positive and happy and light-hearted this really is. :)

Reminds me of Cheaper by the Dozen and the dad who is an efficency expert.
What is the fastest way to shower? Do you remember what he said about that? And which way to button your jacket or shirt is it up or down to save time?
Interesting post!
