If you have a namecheap account, login, then on the top left menu, click on DOMAINS, and then select “Manage Domains”. 

You’ll see a list of your domains. To begin the export process, simply click on the ‘Export’ tab.

 You’ll get a confirmation message that your export has been processed and an email has been sent. It normally takes between 5-15 minutes for the email to arrive. 

Once you get an email, click on the link that ends in .asp so you can view it in your browser.

Now that the file is displayed in your browser, save a copy to your desktop. You can do this by clicking “File”, “Save As” on the Internet Explorer menu. 

Open up your Excel program and open the .asp file. Make sure to select ‘all files’ or you will not see the file on your desktop. 

You will see the domains and details formatted and easier to read as opposed to an ‘XML file. 

I know keeping data and records is not the sexy part of running a business, but these are the essentials that must be done. You can always pass this on to your assistant to keep an offline record of your domains.

Note: This will not work with google docs spreadsheet.

In this tech tip tutorial, I’ll show you a quick and easy solution to do so. This can be done at gravatar.com  

1. To get started, click on the get your gravatar today link. This will present you with the manage gravatars screen. Click the add a new email address link. 

2. On this page, you’ll add your email address that you want to associate to gravatar.com. When done, click add. This will add your email address to the system and a confirmation email will be sent. 

3. Once you confirm your email address, you can now upload your own custom image, you can provide a link to something online or take a picture using your webcam.  This is the image that will be displayed when you post comments to a wordpress blog that uses the Gravatar.com website to pull images from. 

This is a great way to brand yourself and your business and provide additional visibility. Give it a try!

1. Log in to your cPanel account: (Your hosting company will provide details on how to do this).

2. On the main page, scroll down and look for a menu that says Domains. Click the Addon Domains icon shown below:

 3. On the next page, you’ll see the following blank boxes. Where it says New Domain Name, enter the domain you want to add on, however, don’t include the ‘www.’  The next 2 boxes (Subdomain/FTP Username: and Document Root:) will be automatically populated for you. 

{NOTE : The password is for an FTP account which is automatically generated. You may never need to use this password because you can use the  master password and username you use to access your cPanel account. (don’t worry too much about this step).

Then, choose a secure password and re-enter it again to make sure they match, record it for future reference. Now click the Add Domain button.

4. Once you click on the Add Domain button, the following message will be displayed on the next page.

5. CONGRATULATIONS!  You’ve successfully added your domain to your hosting account. If you don’t have a hosting account and need a new hosting account, you can get one from JustHost
