That is a great story Blake and thank you for your service to our country! We actually did a trade show in Fort Worth last fall and I always enjoy my time in Fort Worth so that was why it came to mind when I was writing. I am sure I will be in Fort Worth again soon as it is one of my favorite cities and I already have a reminder set to connect with you on my next trip to the great state of Texas. That is something I am definitely "looking forward to!" - Micky

Micky,

"Looking forward to" reminds me of my time in the navy. There were some really tough and long days out on the ship. But no matter what, at the end of the day right before I went to sleep, I read an email from home and I watched one episode of Lost (I have all the seasons on DVD). Those small things got me through the worst times because I had something to "look forward to".

P.S. Are you really coming to Fort Worth? We gotta grab that beer.

I always park in the airport parking structure because I want accountability and I don't trust the shady off-site run-down scams of parking lots. So I guess we have the exact opposite philosphy on #2.

And tip #8 I also go the exact opposite and have the over-ear type headphones which are better for your long-term hearing and just feel more comfortable. The noise cancelling versions give you headaches though. Plus you can close your eyes and pretend that you are asleep when the plane is taking off and the flight attendants almost never tell you to take them off.

And my personal number one tip: Never check a bag. The airline companies have never actually delivered a bag to the correct location and they can't be trusted under any circumstance. If you can't carry it, use FedEx or UPS.

My number two tip: If you want sleep, get a window seat. You can use it to close the window and make sure it doesn't open and wake you up.

It's interesting to see how other people have different travel philosophy though. Thanks for sharing Mickey!

You could certainly see your expertise within the paintings you write. The world hopes for more passionate writers such as you who are not afraid to say how they believe. Always go after your heart.

Interesting post, Micky. "I often find married couples don’t have much to talk about ..." - this is counter-intuitive but so true.
