1. There’s always going to be somebody that does it better than you. Steal from them and make it your own.

2. Never let them see you sweat. As in style is effortless, which usually takes a lot of effort.

3. Believe in yourself no matter what people tell you or how much they judge you.

4. You know you’re doing something right when others are telling you you’re wrong.

5. Clothing like friends are an extension of who you are. Choose them wisely.

6. I look at clothing like a uniform. If it makes me feel good about what I’m creating than I usually wear it for days on end.

7. Have passions, not addictions.

8. Don’t be afraid to fail.

9. Love what you do.

10. Be amazing.

Tomorrow is Thursday which means I need to bust out another seven pages of greatness again. The Virgins are pretty sick. Kid Cudi is on repeat too. I need to check out Supreme in LA. Shout out to the homie DJ Casanova who is doing big things. Had a chance to chill with him yesterday and talk business. Definitely keep an eye out on him. I got one more thing going on later this month in Santa Barbara and then I’m a free man. Thinking about working for Dov C. for a bit. Actually stopping by the HQ tomorrow but it’s a surprise so don’t tell anyone. Also, I need to slow down. Too many things on the project plate and ain’t getting anything done. Too many eggs in the basket or however that goes. Need to start focusing on just one, maybe two things max. The clock is ticking and I’m not tryina stay quiet forever. Like Kat Williams said, don’t fuck with people who don’t keep it pushin. I’ll leave you with a few things I learned this week: Keep supportive and productive friends. If you do something, something will happen. And, If you have three different options and you still come up with excuses, its your own damn fault. Stay thirsty my friends!

So I lose my pen one day at Hannah’s place. Told her that I had used that specific model pen exclusivey for years but that I only brought one and I lost it so I wasn’t gonna be able to get any writing done. It was no real biggie. Was just being picky. Plus I can always get my backups in LA. But still, its a writer’s pen. So I come home Friday night to find a package from their place.

Hannah of the awesome Webster family sent my pen all the way back to CA from PA.

Gotta love them.

The There Will Be Blood OST is a rhythmic, atonal, jarring musical experience that fits its film’s dark, mysterious, and suspenseful nature. Trains chug across the desolate turn of the century nation as black smoke billows out of the engine. At the same time, cellos and basses strum short, staccato, Jaws-esque lines. A baby is symbolically baptized with recently unearthed crude oil. Violins and piano play countermelodies that while soothing for an instant, stir up anticipation of evil. Greenwood leaves any semblance of Radiohead’s style aside to create a masterpiece of a soundtrack evoking despair, frustration, a little hope, and a lot of greed.

It’s always big deal whenever Lou Tamposi posts something online. It’s an even bigger deal when he posts something online that is especially profound, like his latest entry on Essays:

The best thing about writing these essays, really, is that it has prepared me for the time when I eventually have kids and they eventually have to do the college application thing. I’ll only have a single word of advice for them. I’ll look them right in the eye and tell them to make sure they write the best essay in the world. And then I’ll tell them I did.

And his: “PROMPT: WRITE THE BEST ESSAY IN THE WORLD:”

Write the best essay in the world. Make sure you’re influenced by everyone, but make sure no one else is influenced by the same person as you. Be original. Write to what the readers want to hear. Write to get into college. That’s all that matters. Make sure your essay is the best ever. It has to be witty and out of the box and original and everything. Everyone else is trying to do the same thing, obviously, so in order to make yours stand out, make sure it is written in crayon. And incredibly mundane. They’ll like that. But make sure you make it witty. And out of the box. That’s all that matters really

As a major figure in popular culture, people often want to know what things I’m into, and I usually don’t say anything unless I’m officially endorsing a product or service for some major cash. But lately there has been one question I keep getting that I’m just dying to answer, and I think I’m gonna break my own rule and tell everyone right here, on the official weblog of Mister Michael V.
