I am such a great cook! What else can I say? I must be a cooking wizard or something. It took me all of five minutes to cook dinner for my wife Joyce and I tonight and it was DELICIOUS! Mii Gourmet heat and eat barbecue ribs, Mii Gourmet Potato casserole, some baked beans and salad is a meal fit for a King (and a Queen). Here’s how it goes. Put some of that fine Mii Gourmet bbq sauce on a rack of Mii Gourmet ribs and throw the ribs on the gas grill for five minutes to heat them up.  While the ribs are heating, put the potato casserole and beans in the microwave for five minutes. Salad takes three minutes. When the ribs are ready, so is everything else. Set the table, cook the food, put it on the table, done in under 10 minutes total. Wow Mii Gourmet sure makes it easy to be the hero in my house.

Don’t forget to include your Mii Gourmet Business on your 2009 tax return that is due 4/15/2009!  You will need to consult with your tax advisor for specific questions but here are some general tips to help you get started!

Your Mii Gourmet Business is reported on a Schedule C (which is a schedule that accompanies your 1040).  On the income line you will report the income that was Menage Innovations or Mii Gourmet paid to you in the calendar year 12/31/2009.  If you received more than $600 from the company, they will issue you a 1099 (a copy of which will also be sent to the IRS).  The 1099 will only show income paid to you – it WILL NOT show any expenses that you incurred as a cost of your business.

Expenses related to your Mii Gourmet Business will need to be listed on the Schedule C to offset the income that you received and to minimize tax.  Examples of expenses would be:

Joining fee – $398

Food used for Taste and tells – some of you this may be 100% of your food!

Mileage traveled to and from taste and tells and one on ones.

Convention tickets and expenses

Cell phone bills

Any other expense incurred to help you share this business with others.

Please make sure that you include expenses even if you didn’t make over the $600.  This may create a tax loss on that Schedule C for you and that can help minimize taxes paid on other types of income that you received during the year.

Again, please consult your tax advisor with any specifics but I hope this gets you thinking!
