i cannot explain why i really like this photo and that is probably why it reminds me so much of when and why i first picked up a camera. i do not despise where i am, but i do miss those days at times. i was in love with shooting decay, trash and anything that seemed a bit "grimey". i was not very concerned with technique, how people viewed my work or really anything other than taking pictures of things that i was into. i did not care if i posted pictures of trash and rubble ten days in a row. can anyone relate?

with that said, i am glad to have learned all that i have over the last few years. i remember a time where i thought everything had to be shot in high dynamic range ... ughhh. but you know, that was part of the path that led me to today. no regrets. lots of laughs as i look back on all i have done, which is a good thing.

this is the last day of vacation/holiday for me. i had big plans to shoot thousands of photos, but ended up just chilling with the family a ton. well worth it. i hope you all have a great week.

here is the second image i promised yesterday. i would never want to decide which was my favorite of the two since i love them both so much. of course you can if you like and i will take no offense. in fact i would love to hear which you prefer and why.

i sure am enjoying the weather here lately. we are still enjoying spring here. all the windows are open and there is a nice wind blowing through the house...love it!

check out what bob is doing lately, but do not say anything about his second new 5D or you might stir up even more envy in me. amazing photo(s)!

how is it that when i ask him to make his mean face it is still so stinking cute? i have another one from this breakfast with woody that i plan on posting tomorrow.

life has been super busy lately with work, a couple of side jobs doing photography and computer tech work. no complaints though, i love it!

still waiting for uncle sugar to stimulate my checking account. last time i use h&r block for my taxes. i am going back to doing it myself.

i want to say hello to the recent influx of visitors and rss subscrbers. thanks for taking an interest in my work. i hope you continue to enjoy your visits.

continuing from monday this is another photograph of the product i am currently shooting for earth friendly moving. still deciding if i want to post one more from this particular session or not. i will most likely be doing another session today and be anxious to show you those so we will see.

i get to hang with my two boys this morning while my wife works ... most of the time always a good time.

slow down today ... make it happen. enjoy everything around you.

continuing from monday this is another photograph of the product i am currently shooting for earth friendly moving. i will post one, maybe two more, from this particular session.

i am anxious to shoot a couple more ideas i have for this particular product. i consulted with a couple of friends who had some awesome input which helped me think of a couple things i had thought of yet. thanks again bob and alison. it is amazing the age we live in where we can help each other out the way we do. i just hope that as technology progresses the competitive walls continue to be broken down. i can only hope that statement speaks volumes to the masses and not just the few that visit my site/photostream. share people.

i have been mentioning the product i am currently shooting for earth friendly moving and i am excited to be able to share some of it with you finally. spencer brown, the owner and creator of the company/product, is a cool guy to say the least. when i asked him about sharing the work his response was, "post away!!!! were a green company so were all about sharing!" ... how is that for cool?

i will post a series of shots from my most recent session at what my friend nate and i call "the tree". it is one of a few favorite places to photograph here in prescott valley. i know the actual tree is not in this photograph, but if you can imagine it is just off to the left ... see it? i still have a few shots in mind that i want to take at the tree but the conditons/weather/light have to be just right so it stays on the hit list for now.

my little explorer loves his cap gun. i can still remember how much i loved mine as a boy. ahhh that sweet smell of fired caps. it is quite fun re-living it as i watch him.

if this guy did not move at warp speed i could have shot this a tad sharper, but what's a dad to do?

it is spring time and going on walks abound! i love this time of the year. i took a ton of fun photos on our adventure today. it was just the two of us since my wife and youngest were at the doctors.

for those of you who asked how our littlest one is doing, he is doing fine. he is preparing to see a pediatric urologist to see if we can figure out why he keeps getting bladder infections. right now he is feeling well which is awesome and we are praying the doctors will be able to figure out what is going on.

i have been working on a project for earth friendly moving for a little while now and that has chewed up my recreational photography a bit. that is not a complaint by any means since i am having a real good time working on it. i am also excited to share the work with everyone once i know i have permission so keep an eye out.

as i mentioned yesterday this is my favorite between today's and yesterday's photographs. it just has a bit more character to it. of course a lot of this has to do with knowing my son the way that i do, so i imagine that not everyone would agree. which of the two do you prefer?

i cannot spend too much time writing this morning as i have to head out in about twenty minutes. have a wonderful tuesday everyone!

this was actually going to be one shot in a diptych, but i decided to present both of them individually. i really love this photo, but personally i prefer the one i am going to post tomorrow.

after a brief chat with alison i decided to make all of my photos of the boys for friends and family only on flickr. i am not really sure about here on my photoblog, but i think i will leave things as is for now. since i have complete control of my own site i am not as concerned. plus i know that nowhere near the volume of people visit my site as do flickr.

it is a beautiful morning and am excited to get out with the cameras today. that is the plan at least.

on a side note posting this photo reminds me that i have been considering removing the exif data (shooting info) from the site. when shooting a photo like this it is all very irrelevant anyway. thoughts?
