Katherine Whaley got back with me and to her credit, before I posted this, I just missed her email. She told me she's been anchoring the noon since last summer. Shows you how much I know about Houston TV.

Bill Spencer is the new KPRC 2 investigative reporter and tells me he is thrilled to be back in Texas.

In fact, it's a homecoming for him in a way since his first TV job was at KMID in Midland. Spencer actually was there in the early 1980s covering the "Baby Jessica" McClure stuck in the well story.

One of the most talked about May 2013 sweeps stories (well definitely on this blog at least) aired tonight on KHOU 11.

Bob Allen interviewed longtime friend and former KTRK abc13 colleague Tim Melton about his stroke and subsequent recovery. This is the first time we've heard from Melton in almost two years since the stroke and it's on a competing station.

Melton talks about the

It has given KHOU executive producer Mike O'Neill a movie review segment called Movie Minute with MikeO.

O'Neill's first review...Iron Man 3. I still need to see the second one. If you know Mike, he's a movie buff, so this is perfect for him. Now this is no normal review. Mike throws comedy and magic in. I never saw Siskel & Ebert do that (RIP)!

I broke the news last week that Tim Melton had left KTRK abc13 and this weekend as of last weekend, it looks like sports reporter Bob Slovak is officially the new weekend sports anchor at the ABC owned and operated station because he is now on the newscast's open.

Slovak has just been included in the intro with Tom Abrahams,
