We heard the news about the Tinker Federal Credit Union Miracle Car Show and wanted to join the party. The car show benefits the Children’s Miracle Network which is a great charity we can get behind. The car show was right up our alley and we had a blast rubbing elbows with all our custom car friends. We had some great discussions and were able to share our expertise.

linings, rotors and drums. These pieces wear out, but they do so slowly. Without annual checks, you may find yourself facing higher repair costs or tapping the bumper of that guy in front of you.

Brakes work by creating friction, so they will wear out. The worse case scenario of neglecting this system is brake failure. But before they go completely ka-put, damage can be done to more expensive brake parts, such as rotors, drums and calipers.

A high-pitched squeal when you come to a stop is a surefire sign your vehicle’s brakes need some looking after. Rotors last longer than brake pads, but if your steering wheel wiggles in your hands when you come to a stop, your rotors are probably “warped.” At that point, it’s a good idea to get them replaced.
A thorough check up of these two systems just once-a-year could save you the cost of replacement parts and a tow truck bill.

1 – Excessive or uneven tire wear.
2 – Steering wheel pulling to the left or right.
3 – Feeling of looseness or wandering.
4 – Steering wheel vibration or shimmy.
5 – Steering wheel not centering when car is moving straight ahead.
