Here’s my response to him:

Without knowing your technical background, ambition, skills, etc. It’s really tough to say. If you are a confident, quick learner and you’re good at following direction, then coaching may be the way to go.

No matter what route you take, it’ll take work, facing fears and spending focused time. If you want to set up a half hour talk with me, it’s $150 or $250 for an hour and I’d record it for you for your records.

If you’re in a desperate or very ‘tight’ financial situation, then I don’t recommend (and wouldn’t be willing to) one on one coaching like that. It may be a matter of following a few good video programs to the tee and using your profits on some coaching.

I recently moved back to Chicago from sunny Florida to be closer to family. It’s a choice that I really feel grateful for being able to do, but sometimes the change in weather is a bit jarring at times. Well today, it was 78 degrees… in Chicago! The sun was shining. My wife wanted to take our four year old Jaden to the park and I had to prepare for a webinar to help out a good friend’s people.

There was a price to pay for being inside on a beautiful day like this.

Am I complaining? It may sound like it, but the truth is I’m shining a light on an important point. The people that are successful have done things that most people haven’t been willing to do so that they can make choices (like moving back to Chicago) that others can’t.

The point is a lot of people look at someone who’s successful and think of them as lucky. Well online, it’s never a matter of luck. Yes, some people are born with more talent than others, but I’ve seen it too many times where a brilliant man or woman does nothing when an ‘average’ Joe get fantastic results online by ‘deciding’ to do what it takes online. In other words… work on what matters, when it matters.

Here’s what I focused on that made a difference in my business.

Making friends, getting buyers on my list and helping people solve their problems online. That’s it. The truth is when you focus on those three things you’re business will not only grow, it will thrive and multiply and explode.

Here’s my challenge for you, make the same choice for yourself. Do the work now, when you can. Don’t wait for the next shiny object that promises ‘push button profits’. It’s not gonna happen.

Internet business is still business. Find a demand, create a quality solution for the problem that the demand was caused by and fill that demand. The internet just makes it faster and cheaper to do just that.

The illusion is that it doesn’t take any work. It takes much less than a traditional business, but it’s still going to take work (normally just learning something new) and sacrifice (managing your time and your teams).

Once you grasp this and accept it, you’ll be lucky too.
