So I got this email from one of my readers, which is actually a unique way of phrasing a very common question... "What should I focus on to make money online?"

Here's her question and my response:

Here’s very important, conflicting recommendations put out by different IM leaders: one, in particular, strongly recommends to stay away from blogs, websites, creating products, writing books, purchases of all kinds of IM marketing info you do not even understand let alone are able to apply, etc. and, instead FIRST find your audience (start creating a list) by going to eBay or to Amazon, then by partnering, joint venture or affiliate and ONLY AFTER THIS think of a website, products, etc. This advice is starting to make a lot of sense: what’s the use of a pretty website if I have no list!! As I value your principles and your approach, would you please let me know what you think of this idea?

Thanks for trusting my opinion. =]

Start with picking your niche. Make a helpful, valuable product that you can give away to build a list. You can do research on a common problem/challenge, then show the solution(s) via video, audio or pdf. Then offer high quality affiliate products to your list as you focus on finding more ways to give away your product.

That's the secret formula! =]

Does this simple formula help you out..?

I get the question all the time, 'How do you get so much done, so fast?' Here's my response...

The key with time management is setting goals and prioritizing. If you haven't read the 4 hour work week, do it. Leave it in the bathroom to get 10 mins in a day if needed, but get it and read it.

Two principles he talks about are the 80/20 rule, that 80% of your results come from 20% of your effort. This is for making money as well. Just focus on the 20%.

The other is Achems razor. This says that you'll do what needs to be done in the time allowed. For example a term paper. You have 2 months, but you do it the day before. Set shorter goals to get things done in a hurry.

For me, I figured out how to get myself to do more in less time, by making more public goals. Promise to deliver something at a certain time and you will.

Visiting Austin Texas with my wife and son. It's a beautiful city with a lot of class. I'm really blessed to be able to travel the way I do. I remember not to long ago, working a job and never taking vacations. Even if I had time off, I had no money to go anywhere...
