*) winbox - make console notice correct screen size;

*) winbox - refetch hotspot walled garden hit counter;
*) winbox - added client-connections & server-connections to web proxy status;
*) cerm - fix scep server certificate-reply degenerate PKCS#7 signed-data content;
*) bgp - specific BGP networks were changed to different ones;
*) cerm - allow export for all types except templates;
*) wlan - update brazil-anatel country;
*) winbox - fixed context menu actions to apply to all selected items;

RouterOS v6 release candidate 1 has been released

v6 has many new features, among them:

- Doubles performance for Simple Queues
- New kernel and drivers
- Increases multicore system performance 25% or more
- Increases single core performance 10% or more
- High speed configuration for filters, scripting and other features

What's new in 6.0rc1 (2012-Sep-20 13:13):

Mikrotik v5.15 is better then v 6.0 beta. What's new in 5.15 (2012-Apr-20 13:11):

*) ssh - added option "/ip ssh always-allow-password-login" which will allow
password based login for users using public key;
*) snmp - moved disk oids shown in console from "/system resoure" to "/store disk";
*) certificate manager - added PKCS#8 support for key import;
*) lte - support for modems which utilize sierra_net driver with product ID 0x68a3,
serial interface is no longer accesable for those modems;
*) quickset - added AP mode;
*) smb - fixed authorization problems, shares should now be browsable;
*) dhcp client - revert NTP settings on dhcp client disable;
*) dhcp server - use DNS server from DHCP client (broken in v5.13);
*) sstp - made it working on Pentium 4 again;
*) webfig - fixed uptime column in hotspot active users list (and other places as well) ;
*) webfig - hide design skin button if user does not have

What's new in 6.0beta1 (2012-Apr-13 15:26):

*) updated drivers and kernel (to linux-2.6.38.2);
*) improved interface management (scales well for up to thousands of interfaces and more);
*) improved queue management (/queue simple and /queue tree) - easily handles tens
of thousands of queues;
*) improved overall router performance when simple queues are used -
at least double the performance of v5, even bigger improvements on multicore systems;
*) very small overhead for packets that miss simple queues,
but simple queues are present in the system;
*) pcq queue is NAT aware (just like "/queue simple" and "/ip traffic-flow";
*) in "/ip firewall mangle" can specify "new-priority=from-dscp-high-3-bits";
*) new default queue types: pcq-download-default and pcq-upload-default;
*) simple queues have separate priority setting for download/upload/total;
*) slave flag shows up for interfaces that are in bridge,bonding or switch group;
*) global-in, global-out, global-total parent in /queue tree is
replaced with global that is equivalent to global-total in v5;
*) simple queues happen in different place - at the very end of
postrouting and local-in chains;
*) simple queues target-addresses and interface parameters are joined into one
target parameter, now supports multiple interfaces match for one queue;
*) simple queues dst-address parameter is changed to dst and now supports
destination interface matching;
*) dns cache logs requests to topics "dns" and "packet";

Export Compact
A new feature in v5.12 is the ability to export only that configuration which you have changed (if the device had default configuration, then also that). This gives you ability to debug configuration problems, compare routers more easily, and even simplify the process of migrating configuration to other devices.

Try command: /export compact

Quickset
Starting from v5.12, new SXT, RB711 and RB411 devices will have Quicket - just plug in your ethernet cable, open 192.168.88.1 and you will see a very easy to use interface to set the most basic settings for your router. If anything is missing, just go to the regular webfig and delve into the powerful RouterOS configuration.

- currently supports RB411, RB711 and SXT CPE devices
- automatically logs into devices with admin/no password
- quickly see list of available APs and their signals
- quickly align the station, by instantly seeing the signal graph of selected device
- quickly set up/down speed by selecting from dropdown (or type custom speed, ex 128K)

Buatlah topologi yang terdiri atas 3 router seperti diatas, R1 terhubung ke internet ISP 1, R2 terhubung ke ISP 2, sedangkan R3 akan kita fungsikan sebagai load balancing fail over menggunakan ECMP

a. Konfigurasi R1 sebagai NAT

Koneksikan wlan1 dengan AP dari ISP 1, sampai mendapatkan IP address

Setting IP Address ether1:

/ ip address add address=13.13.13.1/24 network=13.13.13.0 broadcast=13.13.13.255 interface=ether1

Setting NAT :

/ ip firewall nat add chain=srcnat out-interface=wlan1 action=masquerade

b. Konfigurasi R2 sebagai NAT

Koneksikan wlan1 dengan AP dari ISP 2, sampai mendapatkan IP address

Setting IP Address ether1:

/ ip address add address=23.23.23.2/24 network=13.13.13.0 broadcast=23.23.23.255 interface=ether1

Setting NAT :

c. Konfigurasi R3 sebagai ECMP

Setting Routing ECMP pada R3:

Check-Gateway

Anda dapat mengatur router untuk memeriksa reachability gateway menggunakan option check-gateway, bisa melalui protocol ping (icmp) atau ARP. Check-gateway memungkinkan router untuk melakukan check ping (icmp) ke IP gateway setiap interfal waktu 10 detik, apabila 2 kali ping (2 x1 0 = 20 detik) gateway tidak ada respon otomatis table route gateway tersebut akan didisable (inactive).

Jika pilihan check-gateway ini diaktifkan pada satu rute maka akan mempengaruhi semua rute yang berkaitan dengan gateway tersebut.

Setting Routing ECMP juga dapat dibuat dalam satu line route:

/ ip route

add dst-address=0.0.0.0/0 gateway=13.13.13.1,23.23.23.2 check-gateway=ping

Apabila ECMP dibuat dalam 1 line, kita kesulitan dalam hal pengaturan distance, scope dan routing mark untuk masing-masing gateway.

a. Check koneksi

Cobalah ping dan tracert ke IP luar internet, misalkan ke google IP 8.8.8.8

Putuskan koneksi salah satu gateway dengan cara disable interface pada R2 atau R1, dan cobalah trace kembali

Schedule of workshops:
- "RouterOS is simple" (10AM and 1PM, Oct 13)
This two-hour tutorial introduces RouterOS powerful features, an overview of the routerboard product line to help choose the best RouterBOARD for your setup, as well as explains MikroTik Network management options (Winbox, Webfig, Dude, etc.)

- "Wireless/Nv2" (1PM and 3.30PM, Oct 13)
This two-hour tutorial covers most of the new RouterOS wireless features and possible setups. Workshop will cover different wireless configurations and troubleshooting options

- "Traffic Management: Load balancing" (10AM, Oct 13)
This two hour tutorial will cover situations with multiple Internet connection to same router. This workshop will cover such topics as ECMP, load balancing with masquerade, mangle, PCC, routing tables, MLPPP, MPLS Workshop will mainly consist of best practice examples with explanations and will note all the most popular misconceptions and mistakes.

- "Traffic Management: QoS" (3.30PM, Oct 13)
This two-hour tutorial will cover RouterOS features that ensures traffic limitation/prioritization (mangle, simple queues, queue tree, packet flow, queue types, PCQ). Workshop will mainly consist of best practice examples with explanations and will note all the most popular misconceptions and mistakes.

MikroTik MUM 2011 in USA, Brazil and Argentina

As usual, this is the best place to learn about new MikroTik products, see them in action, listen to professional presentations, take part in workshops, and meet other MikroTik users.

This time, MUMs will be more technical than ever! On the first day there will be two-hour hands-on workshops running in two classes. Workshops will include topics as:

- "RouterOS is simple"
This two-hour tutorial introduces RouterOS powerful features, an overview of the routerboard product line to help choose the best RouterBOARD for your setup, as well as explains MikroTik Network management options (Winbox, Webfig, Dude, etc.)

- "Traffic Management workshop"
This two-hour tutorial covers all traffic management features in RouterOS (mangle, simple queues, queue tree, packet flow, queue types, PCQ). Workshop will cover best practice examples with explanations and will note all the most popular misconceptions and mistakes.

- "Wireless/Nv2"
This two-hour tutorial covers most of the new RouterOS wireless features and possible setups. Workshop will cover different wireless configurations and troubleshooting options

- "MPLS"
This two-hour workshop covers main MPLS features in RouterOS (LDP, L2 and L3 VPNs, Traffic Engineering). It also covers MTU, L2MTU, MPLS MTU usage and new features for compatibility with CISCO routers.

One the second day, the general session will take place, with presentations by MikroTik Staff, Certified Consultants and Training Partners. Exhibit hall will be opened both days.
