Kid’s notice the strangest things. Whilst out and about with my 2 year old today, I suddenly realised we had a new addition to our cuddly toy collection. From out of no-where she had picked up this little stray and decided to give him a loving new home.

After a quick bath, he’s actually scrubbed up pretty well.

Well.. I couldn’t just chuck him back into the road now, could I..? Awwww.

We’ve come to the conclusion that Google knows everything. It was Milk and Honey’s 2nd Birthday on Sunday and whilst doing some particularly narcissistic searching (admit it – we all do it at some point or another) we stumbled across our first inclusion in the Google suggestions!

I’m reliably informed that this didn’t exist prior to 7th February so either that’s one hell of a coincidence or Google has been keeping a sneaky eye on our launch date and finally think’s 2 years (and a lot of hard work) is worthy of being included in their suggestions.

Either way, we’re over the moon. Thanks, Google!

It’s the 4th year we’ve spent Christmas in Giens, and every year we’ve stayed in the same house. It’s a beautiful 2 storey house designed and built in the 1950’s. It’s full of interesting angles, colours and different materials.

On sunny days I love the way the light cascades along the veranda into the open plan living room. The house is built to endure very hot weather, but there is something about the winter light that just creates a beautiful setting.

The other benefit of coming here in the winter (apart from the lack of crowds) is that we also get to enjoy the inside of the house, something we wouldn’t do if it was 30 degrees. We’d just be sat around the pool instead!

We were out for a bit of a walk earlier, and stumbled upon this spooky looking abode.

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “Tree House” now ;-)

It’s been such a busy few months at Milk and Honey, but we’ve finally managed to have a little break and head down the the Cote D’Azur for a few days. We’re staying on a little peninsular called Giens in a beautiful house overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

There isn’t a great deal to do here but I guess that’s the whole point. It’s just a perfect opportunity to spend some time with our family away from the madness which is our normal life. Yesterday we had lunch on the Veranda, went for a walk on the beach (windy but exhilarating) and spent 3 hours enjoying each others company over dinner.
