Two Blog posts in a year, yikes! For anyone still reading this, thank you once again for sticking around this terrible, terrible blogger. This post doesn't even have pictures sadly! Mostly because I'm on mobile and don't have access to wifi and my laptop. Basically all my photo updates are via instagram, and even that is sporadic at best.
｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡

The only good excuse I can give you all is that life and school and work have all been kicking my ass. I'm still in school learning Japanese and still working towards my degree. I'm in the middle of a big move, and things in my life are changing. I've been working on my weight loss for over a year and have managed to lose 45lbs. That's a big number for me but I still have very far to go in order to reach my ideal goals.

Where does the time go? I feel like I never have enough time to pursue my hobbies and yet half the time I feel bored out for my brain? I think it's a lack of good scheduling on my part!

What do you all do to schedule your busy lives and still find times to indulge your happiness?

040: Winter Update & Style inspirations

Hi Everyone! I hope this autumn/winter season is treating everyone well! The weather is finally turning in LA just a little bit, and I'm so happy that I can FINALLY begin to look at sweaters and boots again. It was so hot, for so long that I'm relishing this bit of nippy cold. As long as don't catch anything, let the wind blow and the temperature drop! Lol.

It's now finals time for my Japanese class, and my teacher is really pushing me to get that A. I was going to be content with a B, but now that I'm so close to an A, I really want it! I've been studying my kanji, but I need to really grill it into my head. If I get at least 40 points on the kanji test and score a 70% on the final, I'll have my A. After our last class, everyone is going out to eat and have a good time, I can't wait. Wish me luck everyone!

In more exciting news, I recently went back to the doctor's office at the beginning of this November and the nurse told me, I've lost 42 pounds since spring! I couldn't believe it, and I almost asked the nurse to reweigh me! The journey hasn't been easy, I can say that much. There are times when I really want to eat certain foods and in certain amounts, but I have to exercise my will power muscle. Sometimes, I'm even met with opposition, and there are times when I feel terrible because I'm still far from where I want to be, but still I'm really proud of my weight loss, and I want to kick it up into a higher gear and make my body even healthier and better!

Finally, I wanted to end this post with some Autmn/Winter style inspirations and looks I'm definitely feeling. Most of these are from stores such as DreamV, Plumprimo, and Paris Kids, and some are just winter looks I love!

033: Autumn Updates

Wow, two updates within the same, year, I'm practically on a roll! -laughs-
Well this is again another what's going on with me, as I was bitten to post this morning with my spare time before going work.

Recently, I've checked back into school. It was a very scary thing for me to do, because of a bunch of other life things going on, but then I thought, I have to do it sooner or later, and I need to make something of my life because my youth is fleeting FAST. I'm taking it very slow for now, doing one class at a time. I want to do my best so I need to focus. It's been a little bit fulfilling knowing that I'm improving myself. I can't go back and change the past or the lost time, but I can do the best with what I have right now! Everyone, please wish me luck in school. I'm hoping it will also help my social life by meeting new people with my similar interest.

The next on my list is a car and driver's license.

I'm still at the job I detest, but I'm gradually starting to learn to let the small things go. My biggest gripe with the place is how little it pays for the amount of work I have to put out, but I still somehow manage to pay all my bills, and keep my head above water.
Other than that, I've been working on dieting steadily. Nothing crazy or special, I just massively reduced my portions, added far more fresh fruit and vegetables, changed how I cooked my food and majorly upped my water intake. I mean of course I still treat myself and sin with the food on occasion, but I think we all do. I really love cooking my own meals, and trying new recipes! I can see results too in my clothing, and that really makes you feel good. Hopefully in about two years I'll have reached my max goal.I lo

I know people are looking forward to October and Halloween but I'm ready to fast forward to Nov and Dec already!

Recently, I've been way into the latest Pretty Cure season. Go! Princess Precure. If you know me, you know I'm a sucker for magical girls and the aesthetics and Go! Princess Precure does not fail to deliever!

I love all the wonderful cures, but I think Cure Mermaid (take a guess which one she is. HINT: BLUE) is my favorite! I just wish they could have given her better hair. Also, one thing I really love about the show is how they treat their friends who don't have magic! -GLARES AT YOU 90s SAILORMOON- It's so beautiful, I won't get into too much detail, but just watch the show! I've also been collecting the toys, but I'll save that for another post.

Finally, I'll end this post with some gets! Everything is basically from my instagram, so follow me there for more frequent updates!

As you can see, my love for the kawaii never changes. I don't think it ever will. I'll be the worlds oldest kawaii grandma with a hello kitty cane.

Hello, for anyone still around! I'm going to update this blog with a big gets post. I mean might as well dive right back into it. Still working on changing things in my life for the better, and hoping that all works out.

I still love (old) gyaru, fairy kei, lolita, and all that weeby jazz, so that much of me hasn't changed. Just got back from AX, and I've been collecting Sailor Mercury and Sailor Jupiter merchandise along with random magical girl and cute idol girl items.

Unfortunately, I seem to update my instagram more than anything else, so feel free to look over there for pictorial updates!

031: Long over due

So as I type this it's 3:09 am, so forgive me if I'm incoherent or ramble on a little bit. I wanted to make a quick post on here to update a few things about my life, and the blog.
I finally got my laptop working again a few months ago, and I always meant to make a post about it but it didn't happen. Months went by, and before I knew it we were in November with no update on this blog. I don't know how long this hiatus was, maybe 5 months? 6? Too long regardless.

I still find myself in an environment that restricts my time, and space. I procrastinate so much with posts because I want them to be perfect, but in the end I come out with nothing, because I can't get it to look exactly the way I want to. I find I do that a lot with life as well unfortunately. In a perfect world, I would get to update my blog weekly with amazing things for everyone to see, but as time has shown us, I'm lucky if I can get monthly posts in.

Does this mean I want to quit blogging? Absolutely not. Although the blog world I submerged myself in when I first started has dwindled significantly, I still enjoy it. I love reading up on my favorite bloggers, looking at their photos, hearing about their lives and gathering inspiration from them in one way or another. When I started MWH that was the goal I set out to have. I wanted to inspire people, have fun, and make friends. That's still my goal, but I have to figure out the way to go about it where I can do it consistently. I've made wonderful friends through blogging, and had a lot of experiences I would not have if it hadn't been for MWH.

But at a certain point, blogging also got burdensome. I would find myself with many many posts all queued up, but I would never post them because I never get around to finishing them. I also felt as if I was in this unspoken competition with god knows who, to always have more stuff. More clothes, more make up, more kawaii-whatever, just more, more, more, more at it became too much. Photographing every singular purchase, keeping things in storage for months because I hadn't photographed them for the blog was ridiculous, and the longer I went without making a post the more daunting a task it became.

Now that I've had months to just do things without having to worry about an audience, I found that I missed blogging terribly. Even if I have a little hole-in-the-net blog, that only a handful of people know about, it was mine. I was expressing myself and my interested the way I wanted to.

Anyway! Where does that leave us? Well, I definitely want to come back to blogging, I've been thinking about how I should return, if I can just pick up where I left off. I definitely want to host a giveaway for things I've been hoarding for a while as a way of saying thank you to all the people who stuck around.

I'm never going to change this layout though. LOL

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well and you're excited for the holiday season! This is just a post to let everyone know that yes, I am alive and kicking, and despite the terribly long hiatus, I have no intention of abandoning this blog! I actually have a ton of post I'm working on starting from anime expo and summer matsuri, to a large haul of autumn and winter items, make up, and more!

I'm looking forward to a week long vacation, and catching up on everything! I want to thank you all for sticking with MWH even through this long unannounced hiatus, it really means so much to me!

030: Catching up, Summer inspirations and Bloglovin'!

So here I am with what I will officially declare my catch up post. I know it's not nearly as epic as it should have been and is mostly hauls, but I don't have a camera yet, and with life that's just how it is. Strange it seems like I'm so busy and yet I'm so bored at the same time. (emote here) so I won't really talk to much in this post, except to explain pictures so let's get right to them!

So, the majority of these clothes (and this are just the photos that came out well) are from months, and months, ago and just goes to highlight how bad I am at taking pictures and uploading them on time. I'm so sorry! If you follow me on Instagram, or Snapeeee than you've already seen them! As you can tell by comparing them to previous pictures, I'm trying to get a little more "artistic" with my photos!
Or atleast offer some pleasing backgrounds if nothing more!
Even though most of these are older now, they're all still in prime condition and ready for the summer!
So speaking of summer another one is upon us, and with summer has come a shift in my working schedule. I have the morning shift starting from 7:50 am - 12:05 pm. Which means that I have to be up Mon-Fri at 6:30 am. Which is a large adjustment for me. But I do enjoy being done with work at noon, and having the rest of the day to do whatever I want!

Summer is also my favorite season for Gyaru fashion, so I've rounded up some of my current favorite summer inspirations to share with all of you!

What I love the most are bright colors, floral patterns, cute denim, fun prints, sun dresses, and cutie casual fashions abound! I'm far from a fan of Onee & Mode fashion, but I am loving the ripped jeans and animal print together. Those things are so casual yet look so polished when accessorized correctly.

As far as hair and make, I continue my love of fun, girly, sweet, and poppish styles. I adore the fluffy lower pigtails, the top rolls, and the flowers all over! Each of these also fit with my current hair length perfectly, so I'll probably recycle these styles over and over. Onto make, I'm going to try and experiment with a trend I used to ignore -- bottom eyelashes! I usually never took note of bottom lashes, mostly because I never saw them applied in a way I felt would meet my style, and I didn't consider them a necessity to gal make. However recently, I've seen so many gal and gal style bloggers that I admire applying the bottom lashes in such a natural and beautiful way that I've been convinced to give them a-go at the least.

I'm also really loving brightly colored eyeshadows, and contact lenses. All of my circle lenses expired a while ago, so I'm going to be on the look out for my favorite colors: Blue, green, purple, grey, and light brown. (Think Nana Suzuki), I'd like to pair them with heavy or princess lashes. I'm also a fan of the high blush, and blush along the nose!

Finally, I know a lot of you have heard the tragic news that Google Reader is going away. I wish it wasn't but alas. However, Google Friend Connect is NOT leaving us! Taken from SillySilberman:

"You've probably seen my twitter feed explode as of late with information on Google Reader. Earlier this week, Google announced that reader would be retired in July. I think there's been some miscommunication that I want to clear up. Google has not announced that they are retiring Google Friend Connect for Blogger users - so worry that GFC will disappear on July 1st can be put on hold. Google Reader and your Blogger Reading List are two separate things. When you click to "join this site" or follow a blog via GFC it automatically adds that blog to your Blogger Reading List and Google Reader. Google Reader is pretty much a place where you can follow blogs via RSS feed. The Blogger blog list is similar but different. The Blogger Reading List is Bloggers way of following blogs and there's been no announcement as of yet that says they plan to discontinue this. So, what will change? The only thing that will change is that you will no longer be able to follow blogs via Google Reader. You will not lose your GFC widget or your Blogger Reading List.

So, while Google Reader will be going, the GFC widget is not. However, I always believe in erring on the side of caution, so I've signed Milkyway Heart up for Bloglovin'!

029: Update! Gyaru fashion show, and More

I'm still alive everyone I swear~!
I can't believe how long it takes me to make posts. It's so pathetic! Even though I haven't been updating regularly like I want to, I have been taking all kinds of pictures, and they're just awaiting editing. Work makes me so exhausted, and stressed out that by the time I'm home, I just wanna veg out on tumblr. And also, even though I have tons and tons of gets to share with you, I'm sadly lacking in outfit photos, since most of the time I'm in work clothes, and on the weekends I'm either recuperating in comfy womfy lounge wear, or if I am dressed up I'm dashing out to go somewhere. So yes, add that with the lack of a full length mirror and that explains my lack of coords. Pitiful, but it's the truth!
Summer is coming though, and with that will come many, many opportunists to get dolled up and cam-whore!

And speaking of getting dolled up, that brings me to the meat and potatoes of this blog post!

Hello my lovelies! I know it's been forever, since I've given you a proper blog post, and I feel really bad about that! I'm always reading all of your blogs though, and giving comments! I have a ton of photos and hauls to show you, but it's just a matter of editing them. ; ^;

However, even in my hiatus, I was pleasantly surprised to notice that I was given the Liebster award, that's been going around. What's even more exciting is that I was given it by one of the Gyaru bloggers I really look up to, Kanan Hime!

What is the Liebster Award?

027: Forever playing catch up!

Well if that wasn't one of my typical long hiatuses! I apologize, and as usual I blame work. I seem to be working so much, I just wish my paycheck would reflect that. ORZ.

So this fall was very busy for me, aside from work as I'm sure it was for all of you. Before the holidays rolled around, I was lucky enough to go to PMX, and get some photos of some beautiful Lolitas. I apologize for the lack of pictures in this post, but that is what the next post will be for.

After PMX, not much happened event wise, and I continued working up until the holidays. My birthday, Christmas and my New Years were both pretty uneventful, and work started up again without incident. During the course of my long hiatus, I was able to start an Instagram! I'm able to easily update my Instagram before my blog!

I really hope you like my photos! Aside from that, I've gotten a 3DS and have become obsessed with Pokemon Conquest! I'm holding out for X&Y coming out in October.
Aside from working, I've been shopping up a deal, as Los Angeles has had a very beautiful preview of Spring! I'm so excited for Spring (Spring break April 1-8!) because that means were are closer to turning our clocks forward! I love, love, the extra hour of sleep we get, but I hate how it gets dark so early!

Another thing, that I'm looking forward to, is Spring fashion! I love the bright colors of spring, and all the florals! I've already started shopping in anticipation for spring, and so many stores where having sales during the 3 day weekend! I mostly went jean crazy, but since my work place allows jeans, I can wear them all around!

Since I was last and missed New Years Day, I wanted to end this post with my NYE resolutions!

Since 2013 is the year of the Snake, and I am also a snake (1989) I have a good feeling that this year will be phenomenal! So here are the things I will accomplish this year:

♥Pay off my debt to at least 50% if not more
♥Make lasting, authentic, friendships
♥Finish learning Japanese

♥ Move into my own room (This is a really big one! )

So these are the 15 things that are going to happen for me this year! I think it’s a great list, and the goals are realistic!

Hardware failure!

Hi dolls ! How is everyone ? I miss all you guys soo much! What's been keeping me from blogging ? Well work exhausts me' and the clients are draining ! I was working on editing my pictures fr a huge catch up post (Which seems to be the only kind I seem to be making these days ;--; ) but then the hard drive on my laptop decided to die suddenly!

I was so shock seeing as how I only purchased the laptop in April. So I unfortunately again , it seems like I`m going to loose all my data again. . . But I still have most of the photos i need for my update. my laptop will be fixed soon, and it was still
under warranty. I'll be back soon with a big post ! And a giveaway !

026: Whoops! I did it again!

. . . I disappeared for too long! ;__; I didn't mean, to, I really didn't. Every night, I would say "Gotta make a blog post, gotta make a blog post" and it just wouldn't happen, due to me being exhausted from work, or projects, or just plain terrible laziness. ORZ

It's just so pretty. Heroine Make also has BB creams, foundations, and other make up items. Be sure to check them out!

2. What are your favorite ways to get inspired when you're in a funk? We all those times when we feel down to down and unmotivated! Whether it's getting started on that DIY we've been putting off forever, or having a style crisis, or changing a habit, etc. What do you do to get that extra push to get yourself going?

3. What some of your favorite blogs at the moment? I'm always on the hunt for new and great blogs, but the blogspot world is so huge, I couldn't possibly find them all! I especially love active gyaru blogs, lolita blogs, fairy kei, kawaii make up and fashion, etc! Who are you reading right now?

023: Soak City Summer Fun

Happy Splashes!

Hello everyone! So I'm attempting to get back into the swing of blogging regularly. As usual, I would like to thank my latest follower:

Last Friday Lin and I took a trip to the OC to go to Soak City. I had a free ticket, and she wanted to go with her coupon from work.

We decided we wanted to get pedicures before going there, and it was relaxing! The nail salon is a local one, and they had Beyonce's "I AM . . ." tour on DVD. I also ran into an old friendly co-worker there. My only gripe is that the young lady who did my pedicure kept giving me mix signals as to what she wanted me to do with my feet, and she had a bit of an attitude! Which is very rude considering they had my wait so long before they started working on me.

Anyway after pedicures and a quick lunch of delicious fake Chinese food, we headed out to the park. Unfortunately traffic was pretty bad, but not as bad as it could have been.
When we finally got to the park we were lucky we didn't have to struggle too long for a space!

Once we paid and entered it was time to change into our swimwear. Now, let me say this: For all the money that Knotts makes on Soak City, you would think they'd invest some of it into better changing rooms! I don't know about the men's room, but the rooms for women were gross! While they were big and filled with lots of showers, it was horrible hot in there. It was sticky and humid, and the floors were filthy. Also, while I know it's a water park, the changing room floors were extremely wet and I almost tripped twice while walking. I felt bad for the poor attendant who was working the changing room. I'm sure she was trying hard but it was still horribly uncomfortable and again dirty dirty.

I made as speedily a change as I possibly could and met Lin outside. We headed over to the lockers and put all our things away. The one nice thing about the lockers is that they will give you back $5.00 when you return your key, so make sure to hold on to safely! It knocks the price of a regular size locker from $13.00 to $8.00. Not bad.

Once we were changed and ready, it was time to get wet! I wanted to go to the tidal pool first, but for whatever reason,they shut it down temporarily so we decided to go on the lazy river instead, It was so nice and relaxing, just bobbing around in the inner tube and playing around. Soak City always has a a very 'Feel Good' track of music playing in the background, so I spent most of the river bobbing along to the music and harassing Lin.

Once it was over we headed back to the Tidal wave pool, since it was open again. The whole thing with the tidal wave pool is that it lures you into a false sense of security. It starts out as being calm and docile like a little lake, and then suddenly to hear a siren from no where and it's ALL WAVES AND SCREAMING. I kid you not, and these are little pish-posh baby laps either. I'm talking like actual potential danger of not coming back up, waves. Unfortunately we couldn't get a inner tube and that makes up like 85% of the fun, so after the first round we left.

Please do not be fooled.

Lin wanted to get onto one of the big slides, so we stood in line for the Storm Watch. All the tubes are super windy so you never know where you're going to splash out of! It was actually my first time on a high velocity twisty water slide. When I came out of the end I was not completely pleased, and I had water in my nose.

This thing is a MONSTER.

When we left storm watch, Lin wanted to go on Bonzai Falls as our last major ride. It wasn't really to my fancy, and the wait line was very long. Also, of course they make you take off your shoes/sandals while you wait in line, and the icky ground made me feel so gross.

:| Worst attraction, ever.

Once we finished that, Lin took one last dip in the tidal wave pool, and I tried to dry off a bit before heading back to the ~~germ breeding~~ women's changing room. We then bid farewell to Soak City and headed home for dinner. I was craving ramen, so we went to this great local place called Mottainai.

If you are in the local to the Gardena area, and looking for a great chill back place to enjoy some good ramen, Mottainai is it! Like all the reviews say, it's clean, delicious, and the service is great. Also the portions they give you are huge. I always have some to take home the next day. Whenever I go back I want to try more of their side dishes.

Thank you all so much for following, despite my huge lapse in updates. Which brings me to a bit of sad news, recently at the end of last month, my precious phone was STOLEN! ~~I hate horrible thieves so much!~~ So with my phone, went the majority of all my photos I had to upload for you guys. My outings, my time at anime expo, and everything else I wanted to share with you guys.

There are a few photos that I uploaded to my email before my phone was stolen, but still it was nothing like the mega update I had wanted to give to everyone. In addition to all my precious memories, because my phone was on a contract it cost me more than a bit of money. I got charged with an ETF (Early Termination Fee) because Sprint is full of JERKS. I mean, I didn't even have the chance to deco her before she was taken. ;A; However the only good thing to come out of this is that I was able to get a new phone. The Sprint HTC Evo 4G LTE!

And while I will always love my old phone, this new one packs a pretty mean punch. If only Sprint would get off their butts and launch the LTE network in LA. It comes with an awesome kickstand, making viewing movies and photos a breeze. My only physical complaints are that it 1) Does not have a removable battery, 2) Does not have a slit to hang charms. Besides though two things I'm generally very content with it. I can't wait to get a case and deco it. This phone is never leaving my sight! So as I mentioned with my old phone they took all my photos, but I do have the highlight of my anime expo trip!

Hella Pink Swag.

Kawaii as fuck, son. I do regret not buying a tablet while I was there. They had some for $35.00, too! Stupid me. That issue of Cawaii was an especially lucky find for me, since the magazine is discontinued and I adore that older style of Gyaru.

Earlier this summer an acquaintance of mine, Miki from Mugi Bunny opened her very one 100% Lolita/Fairy Kei/Hime shop in Little Tokyo called Fairytale Boutique! She has actual brand lolita clothes, as well as importing beautiful items from Chocomint, Hearty&Hearty, and working with local crafts men! I never regret my purchases, and I've made a few. However, one of my beautiful rings I bought there has gone missing. . .

One of the necklaces I bought from Fairytale Boutique. I hope I can find my ring soon.

Another highlight of this summer has been that I've finally found a BB cream! As those of you know the BB cream originated in Germany and took the Asia by storm starting with Korea. I had always envied girls and their lovely BB creams, and their review posts. But being African-American I couldn't find any that fit my skin tone, until. . .

021: Long time no see

Hello my lovely followers!

I can't believe it's really been so long, since I've sat down and done a proper blog post. Several months have gone by. . .

So what have I been up too? Work really. It's been a Spring full of tumultuous ups and downs, and while summer is just in its early stages, this season looks like to be one full of somewhat difficult change as well. Throughout my absence I have always thought about my blog, and all of wonderful people who take the time to read it. I've tried to evolve as a person socially, emotionally, and somewhat spiritually. This also includes my style and where I get my inspirations from.

During this journey (which is still continuing) I hate to say I lost the drive to regularly maintain my blog (lol as you can tell!) but I have been taking a buttload of pictures! I'm still working on just how to organize and edit them so that you guys can have a nice recap without being overloaded! I finally got a nice new laptop so I can actually do things now without my computer freezing half way through everything. >__>;

I still have so much to do, and at the moment I'm working through a lot so I can't say exactly when all the recap posts will be put up, but definitely soon. I'm really hoping before the end of this month!

020: The happiest hot pot

Hello everyone, and Merry Christmas! I hope you're all having a wonderful one.
Yesterday, Lin came over and we had a great Christmas Eve. She loaned me her culinary skills, and I gave up my kitchen and food and we made delicious, delicious Nabe. She even brought over some of her homemade kimchi! I have made her promise to make my own personal vat next time.
We had been planning to cook the nabe for a long while, but clashing schedules always got in the way!

So, I was so happy when I got her morning text asking to come over and cook! Since we had previously bought all the food, we got right into it. There was so much chopping involved! And poking my frozen crabs.

Let's get cooking!

Before we started on the nabe, we made fried eggplant circles and they were amazing!

These are not cucumbers!

Cell picture quality is poor but, these are the chopped up eggplant I worked so hard on! ;3;/ There were salt and peppered to taste, rolled in floor and Lin did the honors of frying and making them come out delicious! I usually like my eggplant sautéed with tofu in soysauce but this was a quick and delicious treat!

The nabe consisted of lots of delicious vegetables such as bean sprouts, cabbage, green onions, and bokchoy! I also discovered something very cute when I cut up the bokchoy.

Too precious!

The bottom of the bokchoy resembles a rose when cut up! It's something small, but I find awe in the little things in life. So after all the prepwork, we finally got the pot and cooking! Everything smelled so good, and looked so delicious, even my mom (who's really closed minded when it comes to food) was asking when everything would be finished cooking.

It felt like forever, but when everything was done, it was better than expected! The soup was so good and savory, and all the seafood was delicious, the flavors all melded so well! And then coupled with the kimchi and the fried eggplant, it was a real feast! We finished it all with a Ranma 1/2 movie, and a delicious strawberry cheesecake. *^v^*

It was a very quiet Christmas Eve, but a great one spent with family and friends! How was your Christmas eve and Christmas day?

As some of you know my birthday is one week before Christmas, falling on Dec.18th. This past year I just turned 22, and I was fortunate enough to share it with some awesome friends. Lin took me to one of my favorite haunts, Little Tokyo in downtown LA. One of the good things about having my birthday in late December is that nearly everywhere I go, everything is decorated in beautiful lights and ornaments! It always makes my birthday a little more special and Little Tokyo was no exception!

This is beautiful site that will greet you when you walk into the main square of Little Tokyo. It was so pretty I just had to get a picture of it, of course! Sadly none of the presents under the tree were real. Or for me. :| What's up with that Little Tokyo?

I love the blend of Western Christmas with Traditional Lanterns

And this is how it looks on the walk ways up throughout the plaza! The center keeps up the lanterns until after New Year's, I believe. They add to the festive feeling, and look so pretty at night when they're lit! Since Lin and I had some time until Alexa arrived, we decided to walk around the square and explore. We had some quick snacks at the Mitsuwa, and then of course true to myself I dragged her into the local Sanrio store.

I would like it all on my doorstep by 3:00pm tomorrow, please.

I was able to ninja a quick photo of the inside of the store. It's actually a very large store and sells great variety of Sanrio and some San-X items. The staff is usually very friendly and helpful, and I could browse around for so long. One thing I was sad to hear is that they wouldn't be doing their yearly fukubokuro (Lucky Packs) on as grand a scale as they had before. The sales girl informed me this may change on New Years Day, but I shouldn't hold my breath. SADNESS. They were however selling mini-mini lucky packs for $5.00 so in the spirit of things I picked one up.

We'll find out what's in there at the end of the post! ;3 After the square, we decided to take advantage of Max Karaoke's happy hour! At the time we went it was only $5.00/hr per person. Lin absolutely loves karaoke and is amazing at it! I usually end up derping around to anime openings, 90s pop, or whatever random thing I can find and sing. XD; Alexa arrived just when Lin and I were finishing up karaoke. I went to meet her and we walked around the Little Tokyo "mall". One thing I always take advantage of when I'm there is the nearly always open Para-Para machine.

The songs are pretty much older from the early 2000 era, but still so much fun. Unfortunately since I only had my cell phone camera, none of the pictures of the arcade came out right. (It's so dark in there!) I apologize guys! Much to my defeat I couldn't ~~trick~~ convince Lin nor Alexa to try it out, so after I spent up my tokens we left, and had some delicious boba at Cherry on Top. It's a fusion Boba/Frozen Yogurt place.

The inside has great lighting, and the staff and atmosphere there is super friendly and fun. Plus they have SUPER old school Mario on a Sega Genesis for customers to play and nice variety of board games. When we got there some girls were loudly playing Candy Land.

It was delicious!

Their drinks and their yogurt are both great! I ordered the passion fruit (one of my favorites) and even I was surprised by the nice portion size for a regular. Of course no trip to a fun place with great indoor lighting would be complete without a little cam-whoring! X3

Obligatory My-Space angle is Obligatory.

Just this one, I promise! Behind me you can see Alexa, enjoying her drink and leaving me to my own "En Vouge" devices. I love her for putting up with all my silliness. Once bobas were drank it was time for us to have some real dinner, and I suggested the best ramen place on earth Daikokuya. For those of you who are near one of their locations listed on the website: GO AT THE FIRST OPPORTUNITY! It is seriously, some of the most delicious food and ramen ever. The staff is attentive and friendly, the portions are huge, and did I mention how delicious the food was? I did? Okay good. ~~Delicious delicious delicious~~. Of course since the place is so wonderful, there was a waiting list. We were number 38 and they were just calling number 25!

;___;/ Ahh, the things we do for dinner. Since that left us with more wait time, we did the old school Gal thing and hang out some steps and chit-chatted. Alexa and I had a nice talk about the era when Gal was monkey-squatting while putting your make up on in public, para-para routines, and chunky boots. ~~Ran Kotobuki Days~~

We were finally called in and ordered. The inside of Daikokuya is just as great as the food. The moment you walk in, you're hit with the happy bustling environment of the restaurant. The decor pays homage to 60'-80's Japan with his array of nostalgic posters, ads, and wall hung knick-knacks. They even play Japanese oldies everything from Enka to Pop.

I swear to you guys, Daikokuya has in no way paid me for this post. And enough of my rambling, have a food picture!

I want some right now. Seriously.

I took this with Lin's ipod since my phone had long since died. (Androids, I love you, but yeesh that battery life stinks!) I ordered their traditional ramen combo with the donburi bowl. After dinner it was time for us to go home, and we took Alexa back to her car and bid her adieu. Once I got home, I was happy and exhausted and eager to open my presents!

Aaaaaahhh~! *explodes into hearts*

My first pair of Diamond eyelashes! And they're bottom lashes at that. I can't wait to crack these open and try them out, also some great Kyary eyelashes, facial mask, make up and a jewelry compact! I was so upset that when I showed my mother the awesome eye shadows, she dropped the compact and some of the make up broke. *weeps* both of the lip balms smell delicious and feel great on my lips!

So, remember that baby lucky pack I spoke of earlier? Well, here the contents!

Small but cute

I'm pretty happy with all the items that came in it! The stamper is adorable, the notepad will be very useful, and the pen in addition to being a writing tool also has a maze and a pin-ball inside it. I will be amused for days on end. While we were heading back from the restaurant, we decided to pop into one of the general stores, Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle. They're a decently sized store which sells everything from anime, manga, snacks, plushies, cooking utensils, make up and more! While we were in there, they had a sell on facial masks for $1.00 each!

Glorious.

The scent selection was really good, and I got: Lovely Strawberry, Juicy Pomegranate, Sweet Honey, White Rose, and Moisture Green tea. I can't wait to use them!

This December I had an amazing birthday, with wonderful people! I had a lot of fun and I can hardly wait until next year to do it all over again! Thank you Lin, Thank you Alexa! Next time, I'll be posting about my Christmas Eve! See you all soon!

018: [Insert Rebecca Joke Here] - AKA Black Friday haul

Hello everyone and happy holidays! I apologize that this post is about a month late! But I'm determined to get through all my back log, so I call tell everyone about the lovely Christmas Eve I had! So let's get down to business!

As I mentioned earlier, I am a shopper who lives for the epic sales. Black Friday being one of them. Although in recent years, B.F. has become slightly less epic, however I blame the recession for that. Thus, this Black Friday was more of a Cyber deal for me. I think while my haul is small, I still got some really great items. :3

We'll start with the make up, because well: Make up.

Bare Minerals - All Decked Out

This was part of Sephora's $10.00 special deal. It's a three piece set from Bare Minerals, consisting of make up brush, all over face powder, that gives your skin an amazing rosy glow, and lip color. I really, really love the all over face blush. It's a very pretty dusky rose color, and what's great about it is, it works for ALL skin tones! Way to go, Bare Minerals. My only qualm is with the lip color, not with the quality of the product, but the color itself I feel is a bit too "muted" for my tastes.

Tarte - Lights, Camera, Lashes!

Another of Sephora's $10.00 internet specials! This is a mascara complete with primer. (I have how many mascara's now?) but I'm absolutely in love with this one! The primer does an amazing job, and the mascara itself goes on very nicely without any clumps. I always test the effectiveness of mascara by how close my lashes can get to my eyebrows when I roll my eyes up. And this gets them pretty close! I carry it around in my purse all the time now, and love to use it as a sub for falsies when I'm on the go.

Sephora - Facial brush set and carrying case

The last of my Sephora gets. I'm a girl who loves make up brushes, and feel a variety is necessary. Mostly because I'm still learning all the tricks and need different types to play with. What I like most about these brushes besides the color is that each one is labeled with it's intended purpose. For someone still learning like me, that's tremendously helpful, since I can sometimes get them confused! Also, the little case is quite cute and convenient.

Along with my purchase Sephora was kind enough to let me have up to three samples of my choosing. Here's what I got:

Dermadoctor - Photo Dynamic, Peter Thomas - Instant Firm, Bumble & Bumble - Creme de Coco hair masque

They were very kind with their selection of quality samples! I've yet to try the other two, but I did try the hair masque. I was disappointed with the result, but I believe it's because the sample itself did not hold enough product for my hair. I would like to retry this product in a full size and see if it works any better. I really hope so!

And with the make up out of the way, we can move on to the gadgets! Sadly, I wasn't able to find a nicely priced Digi-cam this round, (hoping to do so after Christmas) but I was able to knock some things off my most wanted list!

JVC - Extra Bass headphones

Aww yess~ I had been needing a pair of headphones desperately, and I was so lucky when these went on sale at Radioshack! They were only $22.00 and I got free shipping! I opted for actual headphones because I hate earbuds due to their tendency to constantly fall out of my ear. These are nice, big, and deliver some great sound.

Toshiba - 500 GB HD, PointMoble - Cell screen covers

So! Small story, on this HD. It gave me a bit of trouble. I knew there were going to be awesome HDs on sale this Black Friday. However, my sleepy self was on the late train and missed the best ones that were sold online. I was really disappointed! I then saw the Radioshack advertisement listing the above one for sale for around $60.00! I was on it. Unfortunately, when my mom and I got to our local store, they had sold out! And apparently the last one being put on hold. >__>

The staff was pretty unhelpful too in trying to help us locate another store that may have had one in stock. We finally decided to drive the next nearest store. My luck changed since I was able to buy the last one there, and the shop staff was SO MUCH NICER. They were extremely helpful and attentive to their customers. They also recommended the cellphone screen covers for me, since I was looking for new ones. I haven't put them on yet, but the ones I bought have a nice mirrored effect! Now, I can always check my make up on the go! X3

And that sums up everything I got on Black Friday! It was a very small haul, but I'm happy with what I was able to pick up.

P.S - A while ago, many of you may remember I was mentioned being lucky enough to win Hysteric-Mint's giveaway! The items came awhile ago, but I'm just now getting around to putting up the picture!

017: The land of fairies and unicorn giggles - Aka Spank! Event

Hello all my lovely followers! How are you doing? I hope you can all forgive me for my super long absence! I feel so terrible to having neglected my blog for so so long! I really feel terrible! However, I'm still on my Vacation for another week, so please expect a barrage of posts from me over the weekend! I have such a terrible back log! I have many things to post about, such as events, a huge month long shopping haul, my birthday, etc! But let's get started with this!

As you all know a while back at the end of November Spank!, Bubble Punch, Chubby Bunny and many other great artist got together to hold the Sweets Streets event at WWA Gallery in Culver City. I was dying to go and the amazing Sarah of Happiimilk agreed to let me go with her! It was wonderful finally meeting her and her friend Oli in person! Well, when we finally got there, it was PACKED. The line was literally out the door and almost around the corner. We all had to wait for a while, but it did give everyone time to chat and make new friends! Unfortunately it also gave the weather time to change up and RAIN on us. I think there was a lot of miscommunication and confusion going on with the organizers and the staff.

However, finally everyone was let in and I was ecstatic to see all the wonderful art work!

There were so many people! And everyone had on such interesting clothes!

This was my outfit of the day! As you can tell, I've got some of my previous Gets on from earlier. I went with Pink, because I don't have to many Fairy-Kei type clothes.

Truly Outrageous! I love the crystals growing out of Jem!

Loved these two pieces of work! The colors and the art style were amazing to me! Also, I want those shoes!

These works were truly astounding to me. I loved how the artist was able to take inspiration from Traditional Japanese & Chinese fashion and myths and combine them with modern pop and colors to create something utterly original and fantastic!

Of course, not only was I there to see the amazing art work, but I ran into some wonderful people as well!
It was a great event to meet and greet, and I saw some wonderful bloggers as well. Unfortunately, there were a little too many people, so holding a conversation was a bit difficult.

After looking at all the beautiful artwork, it was time to go and shop! Chubby Bunny had an adorable mini shop set up in the back, and she was debuting some of her new pieces!

Because the size of the shop was so tiny, there was another line to get in, but it was worth the wait! Even though I was toward the tail end of the line, there was still some adorable stock left! So thanks a lot Chubby Bunny! After I bought my items, Sarah was ready to go, so we bid adieu to the Spank! land, and went hunting for some late night eats. We ended up at El Pollo Loco, but it was still delicious! So, what did I get?

This bag! So simple, yet so cute! I adore it!

The Haul!

Here's what's inside: Candy, a fashion pin, brochures for the event and the upcoming ones, and my adorable hair pins! I love them so much. I purchased three shooting stars, and one triple bunny pin! Cute and durable!

But I also have a semi long vacation ahead of me as well, where I can focus solely on my blog, and play some major catch-up!

Hey everyone! How are you doing? I hope you're all well! As I type this is the week of Black Friday and I am oh so excited. ~~I really do have a shopping addiction~~. Do any of you guys participate in BF? I try to do every year if I have money! There are just so many places I want to be at all at once. Of course they make it purposely hard because the day before you've gotten so much food in you, you just wanna sleeeep. I'm also a bit sad to see it come because it will also highlight the end of my work Vacation! ;A; VACATION TIME GOES TOO FAST. ~~It's so unfair.~~ But I'm excited to hang out with friends this week.

So, during the earlier part of this month, and the later part of last, I was able to get a major boost to my wardrobe. I got a lot of things I'd been needing for a long time (Boots!) and some awesome goods thanks to sales. I only shop when there are great sales to be had, so that has to count for something right? ~~Wrong.~~

And one of my favorite stores Torrid, was having a half off clearance sale. Which is the only time I can afford to shop there. (Really Torrid, I love you but $50.00 for like a tank top? I think not.) Plus those fools were daft enough to give me a charge card. ~~*cackles!*~~ I think I got some pretty good deals too, and I always make comparisons. Of course not everything is from Torrid, I got some things from other stores that were having some pre-holiday sales.

So, without further ado, let's get on to the pictures! I apologize before hand for the low quality of my photos. Still haven't gotten a digital camera yet. ;__;

I realized I didn't have enough t-shirts, in my wardrobe. I had to remedy that. I love the creme de la creme one, but it's SO SHEER. aw mah gawd. Luckily, I have that cute patterned tank top to go under it. I don't normally care for skulls, but the skulls are non threatening, plus it has little hearts and keys. The black photo has a lot of cute rhinestones/studs in the camera bulb. Adore it. It's a little small so, I layer it too.

Continuing the t-shirts. It's black and white and red all over. Haw. -rimshot- The other one, is a knit over top, that I adore. It's meant for layering of course, but it looks great with my dark wash jeans, and some heels or boots. It's so versatile, I can see it going with many, many different styles.

This hoodie, you guys. Oh my god. This hoodie is a thing of love. Not only was I entranced by it's wonderful pattern of pink, with black and yellow plaid stripes--Seriously, this photo DOES NOT do it justice AT ALL- but the inner lining is so soft, I want to curl up in it and never take it off. Like, ever. I want everything to be made this soft.

This is another over shirt, but unlike the other knit one, this is a very flowy frothy lace like top. It's super girly and cute, and would look adorable with a nice skirt or such. And I think I have just the skirt to go with it. Again, the picture does it no justice, as it's very beautiful and feminine.

Continuing with my lace tops, this one is adorable. With it's length it could almost be a mini dress. It's also sheer, but it comes with black tank top to layer underneath. It's got a shirred waist, and cap sleeves, and bow openings in the back. Oh my god, bows.

Now, before you say anything, I know I know. Floral top+floral bg = What. I didn't realize until it was too late. Forgive me. ;__; So anyway, onto this top. It's made out of the same cakey/frothy lace material as the over top. The pattern really reminds of Liz Lisa, which probably made me buy the thing in the first place. Since it's still on the website, here is a better photo and description. CLICK ME!

Lame picture but, hey, these jeans are pretty damn nice. Dark wash jeans, I bought originally to go with the knit over top. They also came with the belt which is a plus in my book.

This Dress. The Dress. The dress that spoke to me when I entered store. The dress which when I held it, all the lights went dim, and the threads began to glow with a heavenly aura, and a chorus of angelic voices sang of it's glory.
. . Okay. So maybe the lights flickered in the store when I picked it up. And that glow could or could have not been my cellphone going off while my hand was inside the dress. And fine perhaps The Pretty Reckless isn't the most angelic band to be singing over the store speakers, but I DUN CARE. This dress is absolutely marvelous, beautiful and amazing. The fit the length and wonderful, and the pattern is breath taking. I'm a sucker for florals, and the vibrant cabbage roses tug at my heart strings.

ACCESSORIES

As the subheading suggests. It is not time for the picture of the items that help set the outfit off. What would the fashion world be without accessories? I refuse to live in a world without jingle bracelets.

I love my sunglasses. The pearl necklace will be paired with the dress of amazing, the silver necklace says ''Heart Breaker" . The earrings are silver, red and black heart hoops. The pink and gold necklace is just plain awesome, yo'. Makes me feel like a fairy-kei rapper. Young Unicorn Glitter Giggles is in the house yo'!

Cool belt is cool. It even has rhinestones. BD Ballin'.

I love tights. I love the color pink. Nuff said. These are going to be awesome. Plus the black plaid ones are reversible! SCORE.

I paid less than seven dollars for all these earrings. You know you want to high five me. Yes. I don't know what made me buy the skull and cross ones. I think I was having a Sakurina moment.
