1. Keyword Targeting

Identify a keyphrase you would like to use by using the Free Google Keyword Tool or the much easier alternative such as Micro Niche Finder.

If you do use the Google tool I would suggest finding a keyphrase that has around 4000-5000 searches per month and then entering the keyprase into google with quotes eg. “Lose weight”. The amount of results displayed would then be your competition.

2. Implement the keyword

Once you found the keyword you were looking for it is time to start implementing it into your content.

2.1 Insert keyword in your H1 tags <h1> with secondary keywords under your H2 <h2> and H3 <h3> tags.

2.2 Insert keyword in the title of your post

2.3 Insert meta tags and meta description to suit the keyword

2.4 Have your keyword in your article body around 4 to 5 times.

2.5 Create Anchor Text linking to the page you are trying to rank well for with the following html <a href=”url of your blog” title=”keyword”>keyword</a>

2.6 Make sure the keyword is encountered at the end of the page. I usually use it in the lines of “Thank you for reading (title)

Now that we have covered the on page SEO we can move on to the most important part of SEO. The off-page SEO and rank building.

3. Creating backlinks

Social Bookmarking

For the quickest result I use social bookmarking as a backbone in my link building strategy. This can be done quite easily through Social Bookmarking Demon. The difference between the two is quite astonishing. Let me explain: With socialmarker one has to submit your site to all the social sites manually which will take you around 2 hours or so per page. Bookmarking Demon however does it all for you with one click. So if you are serious about ranking well in google and making money I would highly recommend Bookmarking Demon but the free alternative can also work if you have the time. (A free bookmark submitting site) or

Forums and Blogs

Commenting on blogs and forums can also help you to rank better in Google. A simple comment or answer to a question including your link can be beneficial to your website. The main thing that has to be kept in mind is to actually contribute helpful information towards the blog or forum. If it is not, the comment will just be seen as spam and will be deleted. Remember: Everyone hates a spammer.

Web 2.0

Web 2.0 has become a major part of any quality link building strategy and should not be ignored. Squidoo and Hubpages provide excellent grounds for building quality links back to your site. If for instance you were writing about a weight loss program you could provide helpful tips and ideas within Squidoo and Hubpages with your link pointing towards the site you are promoting. Remember to use anchor text when pointing back to your site as Google reads this html much easier.

Article Marketing

Article marketing is among my favorite ways to promote a website and give it some great Google love! Submitting topic related articles to free article directories such as Ezine Articles will increase your backlink power dramatically. The biggest problem yet again lies within time consumption. Submitting articles to all the directories takes up a lot of time. I personally use Instant Article Submission to save me many hours.

Hey Just wanted to mention some stuff that I have been up to on my main blog. POTPOLITICS is do follow and I write blogging tips and about page rank.I know that an update is coming soon and I’m hoping for some good news like everyone else.I really have no use for this blog as I’m also keeping busy with BLOGANESE - the world’s blog.
