She is barely over five feet tall and she says

The scent problem appeared when the designer decided to make everyone know about her new scent by pumping the fragrance from the air vents at her store in the city’s fashion-forward Meatpacking District.

The reaction was far from what had been expected. People claimed they started feeling bad after walking past the store.

One woman told the New York Post newspaper:

I literally got dizzy from this. It is putrid, awful, something you’d find on a 60-year-old matron.
“She has got some nerve wafting this out of her store. There is a point at which these peoples’ egos and chutzpah absolutely begin to take over any sense of reality or consideration for other people.”

Another woman said the scent is so overpowering outside the exclusive West 14th Street boutique that she thinks someone might fall ill.

She added:

It’s just a matter of time before someone’s going to get sick and keel over from it or has an allergic reaction to it.”

It is interesting to note that the designer’s website describes the new fragrance as an “exotic mix of Mandarin flower, violet leaves and lychee. Jasmine absolute, ylang ylang and Lily of the Valley, with an edge of pepper and nutmeg. Ultimately, D wanders off to the wild, mysterious forests of cedar, patchouli and sandalwood.”

Trying to calm down the public Emese Szenasy, a spokesperson for the designer label, said:

This is the first we’ve heart of it. We’ll absolutely look into it.”

I hope they will take necessary measures until someone really doesn’t get sick.

She said:

I will never retire while I’ve still got my legs and my make-up box.”

In addition the Betsey Johnson fashion house commented:

With rich history and significant opportunities for future growth, Betsey Johnson wants her brand to live on forever. It is only wise that key management and talent is put in place to secure the continued health of the company for the future. Betsey Johnson will continue to provide creative inspiration and leadership as long as she is with us.”

All the rumors appeared after Betsey’s statement in a recent interview with NY Magazine that she might consider retiring soon. These are her actual words:

I should be retired. I’m basically screwing up because I’m not retired. I’d like to go in four days a month, something like that.

My partner and I, we both want to know what would it be like to get up in the morning and go, ‘What do I do today?’

Christian is no less excited about the collaboration than the pop star queen:

Madonna and I are working on a new project called The Material Girl Project and I’m going to be a partner with her on it.

It’s going to come out, in September, when it’s back to school time. So we are working on different designs and samples right now, so we’re going to have most of that done at the end of the summer.

It’s going to be for everyone, all ages. We’re going for everyone, from seven-year-olds to 77-year-olds. We’re not excluding anybody.”

Christian - who has an eponymous label and has worked for the Von Dutch and Ed Hardy labels - is now in London to unveil his new collection of champagne and wines. He says he likes how Madge has thrown herself into the collaboration. According to him the singer is full of great ideas and knows clearly what she wants to have in the line.

He commented:

Madonna is a good choice because she comes into it a total pro. If I need to listen to music, then I go and see Madonna because she is the best, so this is the same thing.

Does she have loads of ideas? Oh, of course. I had a meeting a month ago with her and she is really all about the detail. She knows exactly what she likes and is always proposing ideas to us. After that she decides whether she wants to add shoes or other things. She’s like me, when it’s a, ‘Yes,’ it’s a big, ‘Yes.’ When it’s a, ‘No,’ it’s a definite, ‘No!’ I like people like that, a lot of people are really critical but never give a solution. She is not like that.”

The next step to promote Armani Fall 2009 underwear is the new seductive photoshoot by fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

David and Victoria Beckham strip down again. They united the famous A-list family for another step of super sexy advertisement for the new Autumn/Winter 2009/2010 Emporio Armani Underwear collection, shooted in Milan.

The pics are made in the style of previous ads - black and white colors, shining bodies, extremely sleek hairstyles.

The new photos will be not only in fashion magazines, but also on major billboards in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, Rome, Paris and Tokyo starting in July.
