Of course, I won't be a hypocrite. I say I'd make something for my family. Since within this week I will have the ability to fly; I will fly my family to Hongkong Disneyland. You see, visiting the place is one of my son's dreams. I'd make that come true for him. Might as well grab the chance, right?

If you were to star in your own movie, what would your story be?

I am a fan of military and spy novels. And whenever I am reading a Tom Clancy or a Robert Ludlum novel, I would always imagine that I am in the story and that it would make a really great movie. So, I guess if ever I get to star in my own movie, it would be a Red Storm Rising type of movie. An exciting spy vs spy and a complex plot to seize the oil fields in the Gulf. I will be a team leader of a fighter squad!

That will be very exciting since it was my dream to join the military or become a naval pilot; which never happened because of my height.

Anyway, I will be a naval pilot aboard the carrier USS Nimitz. I will lead a team of air fighters to prevent further damage to the NATO carrier battle group when the Soviet Badgers and Backfire bombers attack. The amphibious assault carrier Saipan and the carrier of the French Army, Foch, were both destroyed. But, both the Nimitz and Saratoga only sustained minor damages. As the USS Nimitz are forced to stay in the docks, I will fly a Tomcat (F-14 fighter jet) to Keflavik, Iceland to support the NATO ground forces in the area and restore the SOSUS (Sound Surveillance System) line that enables NATO to keep the North Atlantic theater protected at all times --- meaning, no enemy can travel the waters undetected.

The main objective of this NATO operation is to force the Soviet to withdraw it's forces in the Gulf with as less casualty as possible. Hence, we need to stop the Soviet's advancing by breaking the formations; blocking their rations and destroying their provisions.

The ending of this movie will still be bloody; as you can't avoid it when you are faced with extremists and fanatics. But, in the end, there is still a sensible Politburo member who will realize the huge mistake that they are making. The Soviet and NATO forces will agree to a cease fire and withdrawal to pre-war lines.

Okay. I have another plot on my mind. But this time, it involves a sport that I love --- racing. I will be a woman who's grown up with a mechanic for a father. Since my father and I is really close to each other, I will be a Papa's girl (which, I really am in real life) and will learn the ropes of a car engine at a young age. Being a know-it-all when it comes to valve trains and 6-cylinders, I will also fall in love with racing, specifically Formula 1. And I will work hard and give my all just to join one of the teams in the world's most prestigious racing sports.

With a struck of luck, I will be contacted by a friend who works at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi. That friend will recommend me to work as a mechanical engineer for Scuderia Ferrari, the racing team division of the Ferrari automobile marque. Of course, I will say yes even though what I really wanted is to drive a Ferrari not fix it's engine or figure out downforce. It's a start, right?

Okay. So I will work hard and do my best and I am racing in underground races whenever the team is in Brazil. One time, I will try to race in a local stock car racing in Indianapolis. I will sweep the competition and the team manager will saw me. Damn, my heart would beat like it's trying to come out of my chest. Am I going to lose my job because I won in a stock car race? Okay, so he (yes, it's rare for an F1 team to have women on their payroll) walked up to me with this look in his eyes. Finally, he said, "Would you like to test drive for the team?" (Okay, if this is happening in real life, I would've fainted because I would run out of breath within 2 seconds.)

So, I would say yes. I will test drive during one of the team practices in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and I will impress the whole crowd. Of course, I would! Yay! I will become a test driver for Michael Schumacher (I know he's retired but hey, this is my own movie).

After a few years of being a test driver for Mr. Formula 1 Championships (hey, he kept winning them all), he decided to just spend his life along the sidelines. He will recommend me to become his replacements. (Shame, this is just all in my head.) Determined to be on the top, I will practice, work very hard (even forget about having a good time outside of work) just to achieve my dreams --- to become the first female driver to win a Formula 1 Championship. I will get that cup eventually. And I will fall in love with my fiercest rival, Sebastian Vettel. (Hey, stop protesting! This is my blog and my own movie plot.)

Such a nice, fast and furious ending huh? I do think so. And I also know that it will be great watching these two movies with pop corns. Now, don't you just go and grab just any other pop corn; better grab Kettle Korn pop corn (any flavor is equally good so go grab all variants!)! How do you express your personality through your style?

I'm an outgoing person and I prefer comfort over preppy. Thus, when it comes to style, you will usually see me out and about wearing comfortable shirts, jeans and sneakers (or flip flops). I will never trade a pair of comfortable sneakers to dozens of heels. The reason behind this is that I want to be prepared because sometimes I need to go to places where I would usually just hike. You know, not hail a cab and just walk all the way from, say Mandaluyong to Ortigas Center. Or if I have to be somewhere else and I need to hurry, I don't want to be hindered by the fact that I'm wearing 4 inches of heels and I can't even walk fast.

But, of course I will still wear fashionable clothes, shoes and accessories. However, I limit them to whenever there are special guests or VIPs at work or when there's some sort of special occasion.

There's one more reason behind my choice of style. Because I know, and a lot of people are saying that I look kind of aloof and unapproachable. I try to dress in comfy styles because I think this tones down my "aloof" look and it's my way of saying "Hey, I'm approachable and you can talk to me - about anything in the world." Okay, maybe not about anything. But, if we talk music, basketball and motor sports, then we'll click. :D

I think among the series of Ana Banana commercials, the video where Derek got busted shows the best family-sized connection and sharing at home. Simply because the video shows how much sharing and connection can make a family become closer. When Derek got his heart broken, we've seen that his whole family was there for him; was able to share in his pains. Best of all, through the connection they have, Derek's Mom, Dad and sibling were able to comfort him and made him realize that everything's going to be okay.

Nokia Lumia 620, 820 and 920 Experience at Abenson Shangri-La

I’ve always been loyal to the Nokia brand. Then and now, it’s a phone brand that’s always user-friendly. Newbie at using phone or too old and just learning to text; you can never go wrong with a Nokia phone. There’s always a Nokia phone perfect for your needs.

Ever since, we always have a Nokia phone in the family. In fact, it’s the only brand that my husband wants to use. You can’t tempt him with any high-end Android phone. And he’s very interested in getting a Lumia phone; given the chance and the money. :D

Now, why I am telling you all these things is because I am going to discuss the three new Nokia Lumia models in this blog post. So, I went to Abenson’s Shangri-La this afternoon to experience the newest addition to the Lumia lineup of phones. Special thanks to their sales staff, Deanne. She was just amazing; so friendly and really knows the stuff she was talking about. So back to the phones; these are the Nokia Lumia 620, Nokia Lumia 820 and Nokia Lumia 920.

I think all three phones are great and I would love to get any of them. :D

Nokia Lumia 920

All three Lumia models run on Windows 8 platform but have slightly different features.And they differ in weight. Hey, I tried weighing them on my hand and I think I will get tired of texting easily using the 920 model. It weighs 185 grams as compared to the 620 which only weighs 127g and the 820 at 160g.

I was actually amazed at the display features of all 3 models. But of course, who can say no to the Lumia 920 with its PureMotion HD+ 4.5 inches display? Looks soooo cool! You won’t get deprived with the 820 and 620 though. Both have ample display at 4.3 inches AMOLED ClearBlack display for the 820 and LCD ClearBlack 3.8 inches for the 620.

And of course, it would be a pity to not try the cameras of the phones. After all, most of us are now looking for a mobile phone that can also double as a digicam substitute, right? So, this Lumia 620 features a 5MP auto-focus camera while the 920 offers 8.7MP and the 820 boasts of 8MP camera; cameras for both 920 and 820 are Dual LED.

Both the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 offers 1.5 GHz dual-core SnapDragon S4 processor while the 620 has 1 GHz dual-core SnapDragon S4 processor. The latter, though, have a different processor model from the 820 and 920. But, I won’t complain. I tested all three and they are all very responsive and fast.

Crazy about taking pictures, especially group shots? Both the Nokia Lumia 820 and 620 offer a Smart Shoot feature which takes a series of snaps to get the perfect group photo. This is really nice when you want to avoid someone in your group shots to have eyes closed or a frown on his/her face. While the Nokia Lumia 920 has PureView technology and Carl Zeiss lens that helps capture blur-free photos and videos.

Now, if you love to stroll and easily gets lost, any of the 3 phones would be perfect. They all have City Lens feature; you just have to tap the screen and get reviews, directions and links to where you are going such as restaurants.

For moms like me, there is this one awesome features you'll love. It's called the Kid's Corner. Simply put, it works like a child lock on your television sets. You can set what games your kids will be able to play. Now, there's no need to worry about disappearing apps and files on your phone.

Are you the type of person who frequently changes the housing or case of your phone just to change its looks? No need for that. With these Lumia phones, you can outright choose the color that you like; and you get to pick 2 colors. Yay. Work the phone in layers, with matte or gloss finish. For the Nokia 620, your color options include Black, Cyan, Lime Green, Magenta, Orange, and White. The Nokia Lumia 920 is available with color options such as Yellow, Red, White, Grey and Black. Color options, meanwhile, for the Lumia 820 includes Red, Yellow, White, Cyan, Purple, Grey and Black.

On the go and needs to finish a document? The Nokia Lumia 620, 820 and 920 all include Microsoft Office and a sync feature. You can just sync your Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint from your desktop to your phone and vice versa. Sync via SkyDrive to keep important files at your fingertips.

I wanted to put it on the top of the list but the Y2K really had beaten it by 50kph more. Fastest or no, I don't think the Y2K appeals to me though. It's an ugly beast - an expensive one at that.

Formula 1 Indian GP Results: Sebastian Vettel Wins

Been trying to keep it together and start this post since Monday. But, I've been busy and just can't muster the strength to put together a post about what happened on the tracks in India last Sunday, 28th of October. And now, we're only a day away from the first practice session in Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi. Bugger! Anyway, here I am now; trying to recall what happened in the Airtel Indian Grand Prix. By the way, this is my first time to actually write a post about Formula 1; please bear with me. :)

So what happened at that track? Plenty of celebrations for the Red Bull Racing-Renault team and plenty of headaches for other teams.

From the first day of practice sessions, it was evident that the Red Bull Racing-Renault was the team to reckon with for the Indian GP. By the time qualifying's done, RBR has solidified its claim on the Airtel Indian GP trophy. Sebastian Vettel qualified P1 while fellow RBR driver Mark Webber qualified P2. It was 2011 all over again. Remember, during the inaugural race in New Delhi last year, Vettel also dominated on the track and bagged a win that's became the key to his 2011 World Championship crown.

Meanwhile, McLaren teammates Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button qualified P3 and P4 respectively. Hamilton can be recalled saying he was happy and that's the most realistic position that they could achieve. Button's understeer problems caused him his chances of quialifying higher than P4 and he's had problems with the soft.

Come race day, it became clear that Red Bull is indeed in their own league. Sebastian Vettel has owned the race and led most laps even with a minor sparks problem. He now has a 13-point lead over Fernando Alonso in the driver standings. But, such was not the case for Webber who ended up giving the P2 position up to Fernando Alonso. After only 20 laps, Webber ran into KERS failure which compromised his brake balance.

Alonso's fellow Ferrari driver, Felipe Massa finished P6. He was told to conserve fuel and just managed enough to stay ahead of Kimi Raikkonen who finished P7. The McLaren drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, finished P4 and P5 respectively. Hamilton encountered a downshift problem and Button had a problem with a left rear getting stuck. All these problems happened while both McLarens were driving with soft tyres. They were all good once they got on the hard; but it was too late to get a podium finish.

As for the Lotus drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean, their cars just don't have the speed needed to ace past the Red Bull and Ferrari cars; even the McLarens. They finished P7 and P9 respectively. Force India's Nico Hulkenberg and Paul di Resta finished P8 and P12. Williams drivers, Bruno Senna and Pastor Maldonado finished in P10 and P16. The two actually showed good speed; Senna even posting the second fastest lap. However, Maldonado ruined his chances at finishing higher than P16 when he got involved in a tyre-ripping clash with Kamui Kobayashi of Sauber.

It's not a great day for Mercedes, though. Nico Rosberg managed to snag a P11 finish. Michael Schumacher was not so lucky. At Lap 55, he had to retire his car because of a gearbox trouble. Toro Rosso's drivers, Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne, finished P13 and P15. Both were in a mishap; Ricciardo was tagged by Perez in Turn One while Vergne had a brush with Schumacher.

Now, that brush off with Ricciardo cost Sauber's Sergio Perez a promising night. While fending of Hulkenberg for P8, he brushed with the Toro Rosso car and had to retire at Lap 20 because of suspension damage. Kamui Kobayashi managed a P14 after his own mishap; a minor brush with Pastor Maldonado.

Caterham drivers, Vitaly Petrov finished P17 while Heikki Kovalainen had a P18 finish. The latter had to deal with a KERS problem. Marussia's Charles Pic and Timo Glock finished P19 and P20. Meanwhile, Narain Karthikeyan of HRT finished P21. Fellow HRT driver Pedro de la Rosa was not so lucky. He retired at Lap 42 due to brake failure.

That's it. Congratulations Sebastian Vettel and the rest of the guys from Red Bull Racing-Renault team! Good job, you guys!

Next up is the 2012 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. From what I've read, it's going to be a battle between the Ferraris and the Red Bulls. If you're in Abu Dhabi, head on to Yas Marina as 1st practice is in 18 hours.

Jimmie Johnson Wins Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville

With only 4 races left in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the pressure has become more tangible than ever. The 12 teams and drivers competing in the Chase all want a win (or two) to secure their spots and gain the most advantage when it comes to the final race of the season. But, not everyone are going to be lucky. At this point, only Matt Kenseth (driver of the #17 Ford) and Brad Keselowski (driver of #2 Dodge) have been lucky to bag a double. The latter holding the top spot in the Chase standings. Denny Hamlin (#11 Toyota) and Clint Bowyer (#15 Toyota) both have 1 win each under their sleeves.

And at this point as well, I've been worried that Jimmie Johnson (#48 Chevrolet) will go to Homestead without a single trophy from his Chase runs. That would have been fine since he's still doing great and have actually managed to cut the points gap between him and Chase leader Brad Keselowski - even without a win.

But, this is Martinsville we're talking about this week and Jimmie have a great record in this particular track. Things are sure looking up. The sun shone even brighter when the 48 grab the pole during qualifying last Saturday. I just knew JJ will win this. Sure enough, after 500 Laps the checkered flag went down and the grandfather clock went to the #48 team. Way to go, Jimmie!

So, let's get back to what happened at the half-mile track that is Martinsville Speedway.

The race went green at around 1:47pm ET and polesitter Jimmie was sitting on the inside pole while Brian Vickers sat alongside him on the outside. Rounding off the top 10 starting line are Kyle Busch, Jeff Burton, Denny Hamlin, Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer, Paul Menard and Aric Almirola.

Not even 20 laps into the race and tempers are already soaring high on the track. Johnson pushed past Vickers in Turn 2 while Jeff Burton raced Denny Hamlin for the 4th place. At Lap 17, Jeff Gordon has zoomed past Hamlin for the 5th place. Meanwhile, Kevin Harvick dropped back to 23rd place with a damaged left-rear quarter panel; he started 13th.

The first caution of the night was out at Lap 45 when David Stremme crashed between Turns 1 and 2. And this actually became a breather for the #2 car of Brad Keselowski because at that point, he was at risk of going a lap down. The leaders pitted and it became a nightmare for Hamlin; who got slapped with a speeding ticket down the pit road. He restarted at the back when the race went back to green.

The race went green at Lap 52 with Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer and Brian Vickers leading the restart.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., fresh from sitting out the last 2 races, was constantly running at the top 10; he started at 20th place. At Lap 74, he was running in fourth place, 3.5 seconds behind leader Jimmie Johnson. Lap 90 and we saw fellow Hendrick Motorsports driver Jeff Gordon grabbed the lead from Johnson.

We get the 2nd yellow at Lap 97 when David Gilliland popped the wall between Turns 3 and 4. At the restart (Lap 104), Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Brian Vickers and Clint Bowyer were at the front of the pack. And then, we saw Denny Hamlin got back into the top 10 at Lap 112. The third caution were thrown at Lap 128 when Travis Kvapil spun in Turn 2. At Lap 149, it was Kyle Busch's turn to cause the caution to be thrown when he spun in Turn 4. This was the 4th yellow of the race. Fifth caution was thrown at Lap 199 with Marcos Ambrose spinning in Turn 2. He actually had a repeat at Lap 212; bringing in the 6th yellow. My, my. The turns at this racetrack are really tricky and a lot have been caught.

But, before that 6th caution, Denny Hamlin was caught speeding on pit road again. He was back at 28th place. Now, that was really frustrating and you can see just how disappointed Denny was about the situation. He will continue to get plagued, though. About that, well, later.

Lap 228 and the 7th caution is out. It was the other Busch brother's turn to spin in Turn 4. After the restart, we saw various position changes among the top 10, including Jimmie Johnson who was running in 6th place at Lap 310. The 8th caution was out at Lap 391. In between the 7th and 8th yellow flags, we saw a long green-flag stretch and several drivers pitted at green.

At Lap 372, Denny Hamlin started having problems with his car. He got stalled at the frontstretch, which in turn forced the 8th caution. While the crew of the #11 team tried to fix Hamlin's car, the race restarted at Lap 400. Jimmie Johnson was bringing up the front by then. He got too close to Juan Pablo Montoya's #42 car. The two taps actually sent Montoya spinning in Turn 2 - bringing out the 9th yellow flag of the race. Lap 474 and we're back at yellow when Kevin Harvick's #29 car's engine just conked out.

With 10 laps to go, Kurt Busch and Carl Edwards clashed in Turn 2 - and we're on the 11th yellow. The green flag was back at Lap 495 and Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne, Jeff Gordon and Aric Almirola were the leaders on the restart.

With 2 laps to go, Johnson sped past Kyle Busch to grab the checkered at Lap 500. This is Jimmie Johnson's 59th career win in his 396th race and his 7th at Martinsville Speedway. Also, the win is Johnson's first in the Chase and 4th of the season.

Of course, dramas were not to be discounted - as should be expected at a half-mile track like Martinsville. Dale Jr. finished 21st despite consistently running in the top 10 for the most part of the race. Casey Mears and Juan Pablo Montoya both got a few taps from race winner Johnson. Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin are, for sure, both frustrated at the outcome of the race.

Now, I'm more than happy to see Jimmie in the victory lane once again - especially at one of the races in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. I know a lot of Johnson haters out there are just seething at this win; saw the comments and some are rather ugly. Sometimes, I can't help but dislike those guys even though I don't know them personally. But, it's their opinion, I guess. As for me, no amount of mud-slinging could mar my happiness for his latest win and certainly none for my admiration for the guy.

I Can Be Body Beautiful at Any Age with Wacoal

I used to be very confident with my body. I was only 90lbs and have a figure of 32-23-34. Not bad, right? And back then, I was eating like I'm doing hard labor; 4-5 cups of rice, anyone? Boy, was I happy with my body. Then, came my giving birth with my son. I was overweight and had a hard time shedding even a few pounds. And 5 years into that battle and I'm yet to shed those extra 60lbs I've gained. Which, by the way, is very frustrating.

As a matter of fact, I've long been used to not buying new clothes. Outfit shopping has long became my woes and it only gives me grief when I can't seem to find a shirt or pants that fits perfectly. NASCAR Sprint Cup and Formula 1 Indian GP Updates

So what's up in the world of auto racing (at least two of it)? NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) and Formula 1 (F1).

I'm usually very lazy when it comes to posting about qualifying races but I am willing to make this Saturday an exception. Well, what do you know? My two favorite drivers are both starting out front Sunday (or in a few hours in Formula 1's case).

Jimmie Johnson, Coors Light Pole

Jimmie Johnson, driver of #48 Chevrolet, will start at the pole for the Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway this October 28 at 1 p.m. ET.

This is Jimmie Johnson's 28th NSCS pole in his 396th start, his 3rd of the season and his 2nd at Martinsville. Now, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that #48 could keep the position to finally end his winless Chase runs.

As for Formula 1, Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing will start at P1 for Sunday's AIRTEL INDIAN GRAND PRIX. His teammate, Mark Webber, meanwhile qualified P2.

Things are looking up for the Red Bull Racing team. I hope both of them could keep the positions come Sunday. I always have unshakeable confidence for Seb, though. So I am sure he'll bag the win again.

I've heard this song on the radio twice this month and it made me smile both times. When I first heard this song back in the 90's, my first thought was "Oh, one of those rubbish songs again!" Then again, I listened to the lyrics carefully and I realized that everything actually made sense. It actually made more sense than the songs playing over the airwaves nowadays. You know, those garbage with repetitive words like baby, love, yeah, and so on.

Theater Watch: 2013 Movies You Should See

The year hasn't even ended and there are still lots of movies yet to be released. But, several movies set to be released next year are already getting a lot of buzz. Man of Steel, The Wolverine, Iron Man 3, Catching Fire, Despicable Me 2 and Monsters University are just few of them.

I've decided to list down some of the movies I'm excited about along with their teaser posters (if available). See if you can find something that suits you. It would be great to have your "movies to watch" list as early as now, right?

So, let's start with this...

A Good Day To Die Hard

Die Hard 5: A Good Day to Die Hard

Who Will Dig This? If you've been a fan of the Die Hard franchise, you're probably among the people already blocking their calendars for the scheduled February 14, 2013 released date in the US. If we're lucky here in the Philippines, we'll be seeing this in theaters within the same week. I'm crossing my fingers for this one, actually. Nothing like a Bruce Willis action film - you know, the good old days' style. Besides, I'm excited to see new faces the likes of Jai Courtney (Spartacus as Varro); he will be playing John McClane Jr. Also, what the heck would Anne Vyalitsyna (yes, Adam Levine's ex-gf no less) do in an action film?

Anyway, this one's set in Russia so it should be good. You know, Stalingrad and Leningrad and Catherine Palace. Another chance for me to imagine the KGB still in existence; they are great spy counterparts (at least the books and films say so). :D

Iron Man 3

Who Will Dig This? Of course, those who love the Iron Man franchise - comics and movies alike -, those who love the Avengers universe, and those who simply love watching Tony Stark be an ass or see him smooching Pepper. As for me, I'm just curious how Ben Kingsley will fare as The Mandarin - Iron Man's archenemy - as well as Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian. Did you get to see Lockout? Man, Pearce was a total badass in that one.

This next saga in the life of Mr. Stark (billionaire slash playboy slash philantropist) is set to be released on May 3, 2013 in the United States. Shane Black is directing. By the way, that's not a teaser poster; it's actually a setup (standee of some sort) at the 2012 Comic Con.

Man of Steel

Who Will Dig This? The fans of the Kryptonian universe and the red cape-clad man we all know as Superman or Clark Kent. You know, the nerdy-looking employee of the Daily Planet who would come out of a phone booth as a super hero. Perhaps those who followed Smallville would be interested on how Henry Cavill will portray the character who made Tom Welling popular (at least among television viewers).

The film includes big names like Amy Adams (as Lois Lane), Russel Crowe (as Jor-El, Superman's papa), and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane (as Clark Kent's adopted parents). It's too bad that Viggo Mortensen didn't actually make it into the cast. He was supposed to play General Zod, FYI.

Who Will Dig This? We all know how the world waited for the first installment of The Hunger Games saga. I'm sure this one will be received with as much enthusiasm. And why the heck not? It's the Quarter Quell! In this film, all the previous champions will go back to the arena and fight it off to the death. This also means that you'll be seeing new faces (since the last set of players all died except for Peeta and Katniss, of course). Sam Claflin (the guy Kristen Stewart smooched with in Snow White and the Huntsman - no, not the director) was cast as Finnick Odair, a former champion who will play a prominent role in Katniss' life. But, I'll let you find out on your own what that role would be.

The first Hunger Games movie was a memorable one for me. Well, not entirely because it's an uber beautiful movie but because it's the only movie I saw alone (I only watched a movie alone the other time when I was in college). What made it memorable was because even though I was alone, I didn't felt like a loser. Yay!

Anyway, I'm sure a lot of you will be waiting for this one to come out. Mark your calendars then. US release date will be November 22, 2013. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth will be reprising their roles as Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Melark and Gale Hawthorne respectively. Francis Lawrence is directing this time.

Thor: The Dark World

Who Will Dig This? Ah, probably those who want to see Chris Hemsworth flex those muscles! I'll probably do. Those who are into Norse mythology would probably want to see how the film will evolve. You know, the first one was not that strong. But, let's see if Avengers had helped build excitement for this sequel.

Most of the first movie's cast will reprise their roles for Thor: The Dark World (except of course those who already died in the film). With the addition of few names such as Christopher Ecclestone (no, not related to the Formula 1 family) as the villain Malekith the Accursed; Clive Russel as Tyr, Thor's half-brother (My, Thor's father sure knows how to play around. Heehee); and Stan Lee (Thor's co-creator) in a cameo.

Set for release on November 8, 2013. Well, save the date!

The Wolverine

Who Will Dig This? Fans of Wolverine and the X-Men franchise of course! And... and those who just love Hugh Jackman, no matter what movie he's in. Mark the date - July 26, 2013!

The Fast and The Furious 6

Who Will Dig This? The fans of the franchise, of course! And those who love the adrenaline-pumping car chase and heist scenes of the past Fast films. Probably those who fell in love with Angelina Jolie and Nicholas Cage in Gone in 60 Seconds. And if you loved Gina Carano in Haywire, you'll be thrilled to know that she's one of the additional casts of this installment.

Fast Six, the alternative name of the film, was mainly shot in England and Scotland. May 24, 2013 is the scheduled release date in the United States.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

Who Will Dig This? If you're into the Brothers Grimm type of fairy tales, then you'll dig this movie. Think Van Helsing and Lady Anne Valerious (yes, that one played by Kate Beckinsale), only this duo are hunting witches instead of vampires. But no, this is nothing like the Salem Witch trials of Massachusetts; they only hunt bad witches here.

Besides, it's Jeremy Renner playing Hansel! What any other reason do you need to see this film? Maybe Gemma Arterton as Gretel could convince you. Well, here's a teaser of the two:

See? How badass can these two look? If you got excited about the film after seeing the photo above, you should mark your calendars, like now! The movie is set for release on January 25, 2013 in the United States. That's only 3 months from now!

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

Who Will Dig This? People who love fantasy and adventure films; especially those with mythical creatures like werewolves, vampires, fairies, fallen angels, and demons.

This film is based on the first book of the Mortal Instruments series written by Cassandra Clare. So, expect a spew of sequels after this one. The movie is already being dubbed as one of the most anticipated films of 2013. And yes, a lot of teens and young adults are sure waiting for this one. I'm not a teen nor a YA, but I'm pretty excited about it. I'd like to see how Jamie Campbell Bower will fare as Jace Wayland (the male protagonist) since I don't remember him uttering more than one sentence in Twilight (he plays Caius, one of the Volturi). But, I'm sure Lily Collins will be perfect as Clare Fray (the female protagonist).

I've read 3 books from the series and I've actually enjoyed them. Hence, I'm one of those totally digging this film. Here's hoping I won't be disappointed. Join me in marking the date - August 23, 2013 - for the US release date.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

Who Will Dig This? Certainly, those who have waited long enough for the sequel for Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Yes, those who also love fantasy and adventure films; they have demigods, demons, and sea creatures you only see in (well) books.

I'll dig this one too. I guess I'm a sucker for fantasy films - even read the entire Percy Jackson & the Olympian series! So, let's all mark the date - August 16, 2013 - for the US release date of this movie. Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, Brandon T. Jackson and Jake Able all reprises their roles as Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Grover Underwood and Luke Castellan respectively. Thor Freudenthal is directing.

Got those dates marked? I've got more movies in my list actually. I just have to cut this short because I'm out of time. It's 39 past 11 in the evening and I still need to wake up early to get ready for work; hence, I need to put the "pen" down and go to bed. Don't worry, though, I'll put the other titles up on the other half of the post as soon as possible.

NASCAR Weekend: Clint Bowyer Wins Bank of America 500 and Some Dramas

Bank of America 500 - Charlotte Motor Speedway

It's a NASCAR weekend full of drama, I would say, from even before practice days started up to the post-race media conference. But what's a race weekend without these trappings, right? And I guess all's well that ends well for the #15 team, Michael Waltrip Racing and Clint Bowyer. After all, they bagged the trophy for this particular race. More so for Mr. Bowyer since this is his first ever win in Charlotte.

Let's recall what happened in the entirety of the Bank of America 500 race (and the pre and post events) held at Charlotte Motor Speedway. But first, the drama surrounding Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s missing this race plus Kansas (who knows, it could be all the remaining races).

On October 11, 2012 (Thursday, US), Earnhardt along with Team Owner Rick Hendrick (of Hendrick Motorsports) and Crew Chief Steve Letarte announced in a press conference that he will be missing the next two races (Charlotte and Kansas) after being diagnosed with a concussion. If you're following the Sprint Cup races, Junior (as he is famously called) has crashed at the race in Talladega. He walked out unscathed (or so we all thought) and were able to drove off to the garage - even giving teammate Jimmie Johnson a ride.

Dale Jr. on Missing Charlotte and Kansas

Unbeknownst to him, he hasn't fully recovered from that grave crash that happened in a testing in Kansas back in August. He's been suffering from headaches after 'Dega and decided to consult a physician; and he was diagnosed with a concussion and advised to sit out the next two races. The October 13 race is the first race without an Earnhardt starting - since September 1979. I'm sure the entire Junior Nation is feeling down about this latest development. But, here's hoping he gets back to top shape after Kansas. After all, he's Jimmie's teammate and I would still want him to have a better place in the Chase.

So back to the race. Greg Biffle, #16 Ford of Roush Fenway Racing, is the pole sitter for the Bank of America 500 race. Rounding up the top 10 starting line are Mark Martin (#55), Ryan Newman (#39), Clint Bowyer (#15), Jimmie Johnson (#48), Martin Truex Jr. (#56), Matt Kenseth (#17), Kyle Busch (#18), Denny Hamlin (#11) and Kasey Kahne (#5). And Regan Smith will be sitting in the #88 car as substitute for Dale Earnhardt Jr. Notably, this is Mark Martin's 850th start in his Cup career. How depressing would that be for people who keeps on failing to qualify? :D

And we're green at Charlotte Motor Speedway - October 13, 2012

The race is green at 7:51 PM with Martin and Biffle keeping it side by side until the 5th Lap. The first caution of the night happened at Lap 12 when Matt Kenseth spun in Turn 4. The race is green again at Lap 15; but, just as it was coming out, we got another yellow. Jeff Burton and David Ragan crashed on the frontstretch; Tony Stewart got some damage on the nose of his car.

On Lap 36, we saw a yellow again as Paul Menard slapped against the wall. At Lap 42, Brad Keselowski took over the lead before Jimmie Johnson got it from him at Lap 75. But before that, we saw #88 car smoking at Lap 62. Aww! That's just too bad. I supposed Regan will be hearing a lot from the Junior fans. You know, they are quite sentimental and are a handful - just read some forums or the comments on Yahoo! Sports or NASCAR website.

At Lap 87, Brad Keselowski has gained back the top position and has actually led the most laps for the night . When Johnson gave up the points to pit, Denny Hamlin took over the lead at Lap 150. Lap 166 and the 4th caution of the night is out because of some debris in Turn 1. Jimmie opted for only two tires when he pitted and this might have cost him a lot because he continued to fall back up to the 7th place.

At Lap 220, we saw Carl Edwards (#99), Tony Stewart (#14) and Jeff Gordon (#24) pitting. And as if to make matters worst for the #24 team (he's been running outside the top 10), Gordon was slapped with a penalty for speeding on pit road.

The most admirable driver for the night, I think, would be Smoke. He has gained the most position - 22 of them - during the race. He has fallen way back but managed to be on 7th place at Lap 235; beat-up car and all! Hah! Kyle Busch has been doing great as well; managing to stay in 2nd most of the race.

And then, it became a fuel mileage race, ladies and gentlemen. Brad Keselowski (#2) ran out of gas at Lap 275 and fell as far back as 13th place. Everybody's just saving fuel to make it all the way to the finish line. Chad Knaus, Crew Chief of #48 even told Johnson that he has to slow down a little to save fuel. But in the end, it was Clint Bowyer who managed to beat the odds and took advantage of the half a second gap he had on Denny Hamlin.

What a night (morning, in my case)! I feel for Matt Kenseth who's been plagued with problems since the start of the Chase. I'm sure he'll be able to get back on top. Though, not all the way to the top please Matt; that's for Jimmie! :D

All in all, I am pleased with the race's outcome. Jimmie Johnson didn't win but at least Brad Keselowski's not on the podium - and he managed to cut the Chase points lead of BK into half. So, he'll get back on the lead next race - that's what I'm hoping at least. But, no pressure!

New to motorsports and confused as heck about what's going on when you watch a race? Don't worry, you're probably not the only one. I must admit that when I first started watching races (I think it was a Formula 1 race back when Michael Schumacher just keeps on winning), I was so confused that all I understood was when the race started and when someone at the front line won.

Then, I started experimenting and tried watching different races - from Moto GP to Indy to NASCAR. Now, I'm hooked to NASCAR and Formula 1; and I am proud to say that I can now understand what inside and outside and pole and three-wide are. I can also tell the differences between open-wheel and stock car racing.

But, for those of you who are just starting to enjoy watching these fast-paced sports; here's a fun way to get to know Indy and NASCAR. Someone from Quicken Loans Racing sent this to me about a month ago and totally forgot about this.

I believe that every thing you do has a purpose; whether you are conscious about it or not. And each and every little thing that you do has an effect on you as well as other people's life. I realized this because I've been hurt more often by other people's seemingly innocent comments. If I get hurt about that, then perhaps I am also hurting other people with what I say and my actions.

Last month, I made a promise to myself that I will think hundred times before I say or do things.

Think before I speak.

I also realized that since I gained weight, I started hating my body. I don't even try to really look myself in the mirror. But, it's wrong. If I don't love my body, I can't think of it as part me and I might neglect my health as result. So starting this month, I will love my body and take care of it.

I will love my body.

Lastly, I need to make a move and show my family just how much I love them; from my husband and son to my parents and siblings and other parts of my extended family. Last week, I have a friend who passed away. She was a very nice person. I was older than her by at least 5 years but she's the kind who can get along with almost everyone. She has this infectious smile. She was so young and yet she passed away just one month after being diagnosed with stage 5 kidney cancer. And she was gone. I wasn't even able to say goodbye to her because I can't go home to Bicol.

A realization hit me. Time is of the essence when it comes to showing someone how much you love them; make them feel just how much you care. You wouldn't know when will your last chance be.

So, I've committed to showing the people I love just how much I LOVE them. Every day, every little things, every step of the way - I will make them feel just how much. From simple things like making coffee for my husband (which by the way I always do) to helping my son with his lessons. I will make an extra effort to visit my parents and cook for them. :)

I will show my family how much I LOVE them.

Aw. Now, I didn't mean for this post to be a bit gloomy.

When it comes to the environment, I've started a long time ago to bring reusable bags when I'm shopping or going to the groceries. I usually refused for my purchases to be packed in separate plastic bags. I want to be a part of the green revolution to save the planet Earth.

Anyway, as the title indicates, I have to explain to you about preserving mankind by answering this question:

"How can one preserve the concept of manliness in this modern age of liberal views and cultural influences?”

Back when I was a kid, I remember seeing shows on TV about how a man should act like a caveman and a woman be treated the way a man wants to treat her. Really, watching television has had lots of effects in the kinds of stereotyping that we all are experiencing up to the modern era - that is today. That's why it's so refreshing to see how things are changing, albeit slowly. The revolution started when women started turning the tables around; ripping those stifling stereotyping. But, are we women really so different when it comes to what we expect from the men around us? Can you say we're not stereotyping them?

Who among you do not cringe, even just a little bit, when you hear a man who is uber vain or likes to watch chick flicks without their girlfriends? Come on! At some point, I admit that I do cringe. But, I realized that's not being fair. So, let's have these modern men do what they think seems good for them.

I think as a woman, I can help preserve the concept of manliness in general by not being too biased and stop following stereotyping so much.

I really think there's nothing wrong with your man wanting to get a pedicure. Hey, if they can get a pedicure or allowed to get it for their wedding, why can't they do it whenever they feel like it? Are weddings and other formal occasions the only times they can have their nails groomed? Is there anything wrong if a man wants to keep his face clean and pimple-free? Let them buy and use all the beauty soaps they want! At least, if they are spending their own money for them. Why do we question a man's gender when we see them wearing skinny jeans? If they can pull it off, then let them. There's nothing wrong with being vain as long as he's not trying to be prettier than you - his girlfriend or wife! Would you rather your man look like he hasn't taken a bath in days? Excuse me, but I'd rather not have my man looked like he's slept in his clothes for days and hasn't washed his face.

Now for you guys out there, when it comes to manners. Go on and treat your woman as your equal if that's what she likes. Let her open her damn door if that's what pleases her. Let her drive or buy your drinks. BUT never, ever throw away your good manners just because gender equality is what most of us women are seeking these days. Nothing makes you less manly when you're rude.

One way to preserve the concept of manliness in this modern age of liberal views and cultural influences is to break gender stereotypes. Don't adhere to what's expected of you because of what's between your legs. Go on doing the things that make you feel good - and most especially, make you happy. But, please don't go parading yourself like someone died and you've been made king - in short, don't be a douchebag and mind your manners.

Action-Packed Bristol; Denny Hamlin Wins IRWIN Tools Night Race

I love NASCAR's night races. There's something different about a racetrack come alive at night - under those high-powered lights. More importantly, I don't have to drown myself with coffee at 12 midnight just to stay awake and watch the race. You know, I live halfway around the world so afternoon NASCAR races and my sleeping time just don't mix well.

My favorite driver, Jimmie Johnson (of course), is starting at 37th but I feel confident that he could make it to the front before the end of 500 laps. He just have these much frustrations to fuel his drive to win after that disappointing engine failure in Michigan and falling back 3 places in the Cup standings.

So, back to Bristol's race. It was definitely a wild race; several heated battles between drivers and 13 cautions thrown in the mix. Starting with a rained out qualifying which put Casey Mears in the pole and the starting 10 with names you rarely see starting out front. But after a grueling 500 laps, it was Denny Hamlin, the driver of the #11 Toyota FedEx Office, who grabbed the checkered flag and did a burnout at the end of the race.

Well, you should be happy Denny. Hey, it was a new Bristol; not the same one you've raced on back in March and I guess anyone who managed to snag a win on a racetrack they're not used to should be proud. Besides, he gained 2 positions in the Cup standings.

Finishing in 2nd place is the driver of the #48 Lowe's Chevrolet, Jimmie Johnson. Yes, Mr. 5-Time "drove it in deep" to propel his car from the 37th place to the front. Well, not the 1st place front; but, hey that was awesome already, right? Jeff Gordon, Brian Vickers, Marcos Ambrose, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer, Joey Logano, Kasey Kahne and Paul Menard rounded up the top 10 in that order.

Perhaps, the person most brokenhearted over the turn of events at Bristol is Carl Edwards, driver of the #99 Fastenal Ford. He was in a heated battle with Denny Hamlin with a few more laps to go; even leading a few laps. Unfortunately, he run out of gas at Lap 496 and had to pit. Yep, that allowed Denny Hamlin a free pass to grab the flag.

An event to note was when Tony Stewart angrily thrown his helmet at Matt Kenseth's car down pit road. At Lap 333, the two drivers banged doors which effectively took Stewart out of contention for even the top 15 positions. And since it's Tony Stewart, you'd expect nothing less. Another throw down happened between Regan Smith and Danica Patrick; when Smith caused Patrick to crash on the frontstretch at Lap 434. There was no helmet involved, though; only wiggling of fingers. This is another thing that most NASCAR followers expect no less from Danica, I guess. Wrecking. :D
