I enjoyed Frank, but I apparently didn’t love him as an announcer as much as some (including you) did. I don’t think White was to announcing as Bryant was to coaching, so whoever follows him does have a shot at fully filling his shoes.

I spoke with Joel Goldberg on the Springfield Caravan stop, and he thought they would announce it in 3 weeks or so. That would make it next week. He didn’t know who it would be either, but mentioned he’s very eager.

But they’ll have to get it done before players start reporting.

Forgot to add…

No matter who they get, that person is in for a very rough season. It will be like the coaches who followed John Wooden or Bear Bryant (and now Joe Paterno). No matter what they do, they will be compared back to Frank and it will not be good enough.

Ryan is wrong on one account. Announcers CAN dictate whether fans watch (or more accurately) listen to games.

For me, I will be watching FSKC on the net this year. But I will be listening to the Royals radio broadcast because no one is going to replace Frank White in my opinion.
