As we're still unable to drive anywhere, we booked a new groomer for Bob earlier in the week who comes to your home to do the grooming - nice and convenient for all of us, especially Bob who doesn't enjoy the two hour separation from us when we take her to our usual groomer in a town about 20 minutes drive from us. We were impressed by her work although my partner didn't appreciate Bob's eyebrows being cut right back. I much prefer this way as it allows me to fully see her expressive eyes

Walking Gear

When it comes to walking the dog, my wife has basically become the one who keeps finding all these new, cheap, human-use clip-on LED lights and other fancy little gadgets. And I'm the one who gears up and heads out with them. Honestly, I've never picked out a single walking gadget myself -but there is one thing I absolutely won't compromise on. ...A camera. (^^ゞ

While cleaning the room, I found my old Motorola smartphone -the one I used for 6-7 years, and even went through like six units of the same model -along with the Hasselblad-branded camera attachment that snaps onto the back and gives a 10× optical zoom.
"Oh right... being able to attach this thing was one of the reasons I loved this phone so much."

But of course, the usual smartphone trap: the battery starts swelling. Once the phone body bulges even a little, the camera attachment can't connect properly anymore... and eventually just stop using the gadget. "Wait... hold on. Among those six phones, wasn't there one that didn't have a swollen battery, but I stopped using it because the battery life had gotten ridiculously short?", "Yeah, there was one that barely lasted half a day. But... couldn't I just attach the camera and use it as a dedicated walking camera?!"

So today, I dug that phone out of the junk box, charged it up, nervously snapped the camera module on... "It works!!"
And with that confirmed, I headed out for my first walk of the day. A happy ending indeed. (^^ゞ

散歩グッズ

犬の散歩用に、家内はしきりと人間用クリップ式の小さなＬＥＤランプなど最新式格安グッズを探してくる係みたいになってて、ボクはもっぱらそれらを実装して出撃する係。ボクが自前で探してきた散歩グッズなんて一つもないのだが、さすがにこれだけは譲れんぞ、ってハナシ。・・カメラだ。(^^ゞ

部屋を片付けてたら前回使っていたモトローラのスマホ（６～７年間、しかも同機種を６台ぐらい）の裏に合体させて使う、光学１０倍ズーム内蔵のハッセルブラッド銘のカメラガジェットが出てきた。『あぁそうだった、これを取り付けることが出来たのもこのスマホを愛し続けた理由の一つだったな・・』。

しかしスマホによくある落とし穴、バッテリーが膨張するのだ。スマホ側がやがて膨らんじゃってカメラなどガジェット類の接点とうまく合体できなくなりだすと・・・そのうちガジェットは使わなくなったりと。『あれ？いや待てよ、でも６台ぐらいの中には膨張はしていないがバッテリーの持ちが極端に悪くなって使うのをやめた個体もあったような・・』。『そうだ、１日いや半日ぐらいしか持たないから使うのをやめたスマホがあったはずだが、カメラと合体させて散歩専用カメラにすればよいのでは！？』

ボクは今日、そんなスマホをガラクタ箱から探し出してきて充電し、恐るおそるカメラ側と合体・・・『おぉ動いた！！』ってことを確認してまず本日１回目の散歩に出かけたのでした、たのしめでたし。(^^ゞ

I was sitting at the computer and she came and put her head between my legs to remind me that it was time for her lunch. It reminds me of the famous still of Jack Nicholson in The Shining when he places his head through the broken door 😄
