Thank you for joining the Mini-Skool Walkathon in support of SickKids Foundation. The Walkathon takes place on Thursday, May 21st, 2015.

IMPORTANT NOTE: any child participating in the Walkathon must be registered before parents and others will be able to sponsor them.

Register Your Child

Before you can start fundraising, your child must be registered on Mini-Skool’s Walkathon page on the SickKids Foundation website:

1. Click the “Sign Up” button under the bold text “Register to raise pledges for Mini-Skool’s 2015 Walkathon!”
2. If your child was registered last year, please login using the username and password you created last year. If you don’t remember your username or password, please click the sentence “Forgot your username or password?”
3. To register for the first time, click the “Sign Up” button.
4. On the “Accept the Waiver” page, please click the circle in front of “I Accept” and then click the “Continue” button
5. Please enter your child’s name and your contact information, then click the “Continue” button to complete your registration for the Walkathon
6. On the Permissions page, please choose “Yes” to allow SickKids Foundation to provide Mini-Skool your name, contact information and donation amount

Note that SickKids creates a web page for each participant and allows you to customize it. You will also be able to email yourself a customized fundraising email that you can then forward to others to help in your fundraising.

I picked my daughter up tonight and the smile on my face could be seen all through the school.  As I approached the door I heard singing.  And as I looked in the window, there was Mr. Jeff singing his heart out into a “microphone”.  I waited until he finished as I didn’t want him to stop.  All around him the kids were watching him and singing too.

I asked my daughter about Mr. Jeff singing.  She quickly told me they had all been invited – one by one – up on “stage”.  Mr. Jeff was the last one.

Mr. Jeff has been one of Alison’s teachers for two years now and I can’t begin to tell you how much we are going to miss him when Alison goes to Grade 1 in September.  His energy, enthusiasm and care for the kids is irrefutable, undeniable and unrepeatable.  He is amazing!

I love the fact too that he and Mr. Peter have taken Room 10 for 2 picnics this summer.  What a special opportunity for the kids – one they do not want to miss – even if it means delaying a trip to the cottage!!

We can’t thank Mr. Jeff enough for all he does.  He is amazing!!!!

We have made many new changes at Mini-Skool such as more home-like classroom environments, new equipment/ furniture and an all new play based program.

We value learning and believe in a child directed program!  Giving your child a Mini-Skool head start will give them the tools later in their school years to be confident, independent and to really enjoy the process of learning!

October 7, 1950 – June 15, 2014

I would like to pay tribute to Donna Ray,who was a dedicated, loyal and committed employee of Mini-Skool for 33 years of her life. Her love and passion for the children and families that she served,shone through in her work. She never missed a day of work and always put the children and families first. Donna had a stellar record with our organization and was loved and respected by her peers and the Mini-Skool Management team. She was very unassuming, quiet by nature, but she always smiled when you walked into her room. A welcoming gesture that is often forgotten these days.She was truly a model employee and I hope that others can learn from her.

Donna is far too special to be forgotten, especially when you’ve had the privilege to have an employee like her work for your organization. So I felt it only fitting that her memory live on in this small token of appreciation, for all the lives that she touched in her 33 years at Mini-Skool. She will forever live in our hearts and serve as an example to others, who chose to work with such precious gifts – the lives of children.
