This is the best park for sledding in the winter. This particular morning we were the first ones on the hill. Yes, that is the evil tower of terror, but it is closed due to the weather (WOOOOOHHOOOOOO! I don't have to chase the kids up it). I have posted the directions to the park on the Misawa Life website. Snow is expected this weekend so yes I will be there :)
Very slowly I am getting caught up on pictures. I passed a few tests recently which makes life a little easier at work. Almost everyday I pass this mural and it is my favorite. It is painted on one of the storefronts on White/Green/No Pole Road.
These wishes are small pieces of paper that have the wishes of their writers on them. All the snow and white paper looked so beautiful I had to snap a picture! This display is located at Kihi Shrine.
I know a coworker that looked like this, this morning... She has a terrible cold (Misawa germs are terrible!) and young airmen can work your last nerve :) Have a great day!
Misawa City has a beautiful ice arena. They have skate rentals and snacks available. It is only open until May. We frequently visit and stay for a couple hours at a time with the kids.
I have posted quite a few pictures of the shrines and the scenery, but they are so different in the winter. I love the way the Japanese make goals and wishes for their family each year. It is a great tradition!
Recently, we had a beautiful sunny day and so I played hook.... ssshhhhh, for a little while :) This is the beach near Shimoda. During the spring and summer you can catch some clams and eat them if you dare...
