This episode ends the re-issuing of the original 45 comics I made for misplaced. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading them again, or for the first time, whatever the case may be.

I am going to say that it’ll be a couple of weeks or so before I get new episodes rolling out. I’m going to spend some time working on the overarching story and character backgrounds so I’m not constantly going back to older comics to see who said or did what, and so I can better plan the story in the future.

In the meantime, I thought now would be a good time for some feedback. What do you enjoy most about misplaced? What do you think needs improvement? Is there a certain aspect about a character, a storyline, or some other aspect that you’d like to see more of? Please be as detailed and constructive as you’d like, because I’d really like to take this little hobby of mine to some kind of other level, and I would prefer if it was a level higher.

That’s one of my favourite endings so far.

The wife and I went to the local comic convention on Sunday, and it was pretty phenomenal. So many amazing artists and creators. I was able to chat briefly with Ethan from AxeCop, picked up a really cool GI Joe print featuring early casting choices for the movie (more on that in a future post) and, by exhibiting some serious self control, only purchased 9 new GI Joe figures for future work in misplaced. One of the booths had several buckets of Gen1 figures in baggies for $5-10 each, and it was difficult not to get carried away and buy them all.

Then, after watching the Vancouver Canucks eliminate the LA Kings from the playoffs, I can safely say it’s been a good day.

Woo Friday. Woo comic!

There are only 2 more episodes left of the ‘original run’ of 45 that I did back in ’06-’07, and then it’ll be time for me to start shooting new episodes.

To that end, I thought I would ask if there were any particular characters or plot devices or general aspects about the story that you, dear readers, would like me to explore further. I’ll also be posting the same question on the facebook page so go join us there if you haven’t already.

I’ll be going to the local comic convention this weekend (as an attendee, not as an exhibitor, but thanks for assuming that I’m that awesome) and am hoping to get some solid inspiration from the actually successful creators out there.

I’m also hoping I can get Malcolm McDowell to beat me with a cane while singing ‘Singing in the Rain’. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Hey! It’s a new episode! You’d almost think I still cared about this story.

Well, I do, I swear! I’ve just got a lot going on, and very little motivation otherwise. As always, I’m working on it, so thanks for the patience.

LOTGK commented about the last episode, asking if I actually have a plan in mind for the story, and an explanation for what’s going on with the characters. The answer is an EMPHATIC…

When I first came up with the idea for misplaced about 4 years ago, I had some pretty general ideas of what the answers to the questions would be. The details of that have evolved over time, but yes, I do (sorta) know where the story is going. I’m pretty sure that it won’t compare, in either genius or depth of complexity, to what LOST has done, but I also hope that I can write it in such a way that the comic doesn’t have to necessarily end once the larger mysteries are solved, because, frankly, it’s fun to have an excuse to play with action figures.

I am now at a point where I’m no longer fixing up and reformatting older comics, so the next five or so should go up on schedule, and after that, I’ll have to get off my ass and try to make some new ones, which I’m getting kind of excited about again.

In the meantime, I’m also working on recording some music for the first serious time, and I’ve reused secretidentitycrisis.com as the site where I’ll be posting info about that. Check it out if you’re into amateur music making, or musical schadenfreude.

Actually, I guess it’s ‘see you in the winter!

Anyhow, misplaced is back, and I have a few more finished and ready to post as we say farewell to 2009, which, to me, seems like the year that never existed. Aside from going on an amazing 3 week vacation with my wife, which included a cruise where we met some amazing people and drank a nearly literal boatload of wine, this year has been fairly empty and seemed to pass by without me even knowing it. Being sick, both physically and mentally, probably helped with that.

I’m not one for resolutions, but I do hope that I’m able to do more in the next year than it feels I accomplished this year. Like, maybe I’ll paint a picture of a duck or something.

Gearing up for NaNoWriMo in November, so I’m saving my writing power for that. Also, I can’t think of much else to say.

Enjoy the comic. It’s a month in the arriving, and probably worth every sleepless night that you waited for it. Mom jokes and gay jokes are always worth the wait, right?

Hey, a comic! Holy shit, right?

Between travelling and getting fully sucked into Batman Arkham Asylum, I have been neglecting these other fun things, but now that both of those things are finished with, at least for a while, I can get organized again.
