Since I watch New Girl, the series with Zooey Deschanel as Jess, a cute and dreamy girl, I've fallen in love with Zooey's style again. She chooses her clothes like she still were a 12 years old girl. She's unique!. She was fantastic in 500 days of Summer (check this post about the clothes on the film). Her songs are quite good, she plays the ukelele, and she's always smiling... Who would't love her?

Tavi Gevinson, the world famous blogger who began blogging at the age of 11, launched a digital magazine called RookieMag in September 2011. The aim was creating a website for teenagers, made by teenagers (they also add: "we have semi-qualified adults standing by to answer your – yes, YOUR – questions".

I've been visiting RookieMag for a long time, and I decided I had to make a post about it because no one should miss this goldmine. You'll find articles by great collaborators and columnists, useful guides, tips, playlists, original style guides... The language they use is extremely fun and down to earth. RookieMag is like the perfect magazine any teenager would love to read under the covers (with a flashlight), and her parents would read it too when no one were looking.

Thanks to Tavi's fame, and all the people she has gotten to know because all the media and brand's attention she received, she has the privilege of having contributors such as Elle Fanning, Chloë Sevigny, the Rodarte sisters, or the actor Paul Rudd. Lucky her! :) So if you are a teenager, have a look at the site, you'll love it. And if you're an adult, show your inner Peter Pan and enjoy Rookie's world.

- On the homepage they announce the headline of the next article they're publishing. That makes you look forward to it!

- Their icons and it-girls are real, in some way. They admire Effy Stonem from Skins, Ghost World, Margot Tenembaum, and create playlists based on those characters. The icon is not a model with flawless skin, the most expensive clothes and skinny legs, it's just a girl like them.

- You'll find the most useful guides, such as "How to run a movie marathon" (they suggest you start with Johnny Depp films not directed by Tim Burton), "How to throw a party when you're broke", "How to make your room look like a movie"

- You seem to travel in time to 1990 when you are on the website.

- Their language is so fresh and youthful, without all the conventionalities and clichés we are used to. This headline is too good: "Games That Make You Say, “Oh Hell It’s 5 AM?!?!?” Please don’t tell your parents that we are encouraging you to stay up late playing Mario Kart". For example, there is a guide on how to dress for a party, and they underline the fact that there won't be "any mention of your body shape or your style personality".

- They created the expression golluming out on the couch, which means turning into Gollum from The Lord of the Rings after spending too much time watching movies on the couch.

Some ideas for the Gossip Girl writers

SPOILER WARNING/// I must confess. I still watch Gossip Girl and I'm addicted again, even though the series has gotten worse considerably (since june 2010, maybe you remember this post). The plot is ridiculous and completely surreal, the characters are stuck, Chuck and Blair aren't together for stupid reasons, and the whole story about Blair and Louis is boring to death; but I don't miss any single episode.

The series has many ingredients to go back to the quality it used to have, they surprise us with awesome lines, and well, the parties and the clothes are just perfect.

As I wouldn't like to see the series disappear, here you have some plot ideas, in case there is any screenwriter reading this. First of all, if you have characters nobody likes, they should get rid of them fast, as they did with Jenny and Vanessa. Now they should let Louis and Georgina go. They've exploited the Blair and Louis story too much. Blair would never marry such a stupid and dull man, even if he's from the royalty! And if they have to plan weddings, car accidents or pregnancies, it means the series is poor, they shouldn't do everything for the audience, and should come up with more original stories... Dan and Blair going out would be too twisty, but their "public" friendship could be interesting. Serena and Nate should show more initiative, they always depend on what the others do, and Chuck should stop basing his life on Blair's decisions. Oh, and most of all, never reveal who's the real Gossip Girl! The series would lose any interest.

Some plot ideas:

- Blair hires a lawyer to get a divorce. Dan flies to Monaco with her and helps her win the case, and Louis reveals his manipulating and evil side.

- They stay in Monaco for a few days, and soon Serena, Nate and Blair's family go to Monaco to support Blair. In Monaco, Serena and Nate have an affair and start dating.

- Blair wins the divorce case.

- Serena and Blair become best friends again, and stop hiding secrets to each other (we haven't had many of the good-old Serena/Blair moments lately).

- Dan and Blair become friends, and it's not a secret.

- Blair returns to college to study Law, where she mets a handsome boy, son of a rich Upper East Side businessman, makes plan to get his attention and they start dating.

- Dan starts writing a new non-fiction novel about the secret lives of the Upper East Siders (not his friends's). The influent businessmen of the Upper East Side (including the father of Blair's new boyfriend) get to know about the book and try to stop him by threatening him, but Dan continues his investigations.

- Serena and Nate create an Internet media empire after getting rid of Georgina (I hate that character so much!), who isn't Gossip Girl, by the way.

- Gossip Girl's website goes online again, and Serena tries to gain more influence with her blog in The Spectator.

- Chuck decides to forget Blair and starts a relationship with a character played by Olivia Palermo.

- The whole group (Dan, Serena, Blair, Nate and Chuck) reunites.

- Dan realizes Serena was his true love and confesses his feelings to Serena, but now she's dating Nate and says no to Dan. Serena loves Dan but doesn't know how to leave Nate.

- Serena tells Blair about her love for Dan and Blair secretly makes a plan for the two of them (Serena and Dan) to be together.

- Serena accidentally meets the real Charlie Rhodes and discovers the truth about the fake one. She hires her as an assistant and tells her to find out who's the real Gossip Girl.

- Chuck becomes an admired entrepreneur thanks to Olivia Palermo. Blair is jealous, but sees that Chuck is happy and doesn't make evil plans to win him back.

Let's see what happens in tonight's episode...!

CONTIENE SPOILERS // Lo confieso. Sigo viendo Gossip Girl y estoy enganchada de nuevo. A pesar de que haya ido empeorando considerablemente (ya en junio de 2010 se veía, si recordáis este post). El argumento es ridículo y nada creíble, los personajes han acabado en un callejón sin salida, Chuck y Blair no consiguen estar juntos por causas absurdas, y toda la historia de Blair con el heredero de Mónaco ya resulta cansina; pero no me pierdo ningún episodio.

La serie tiene muchos ingredientes para volver a la calidad del principio. De vez en cuando nos sorprenden con buenos diálogos, y para qué engañarnos, las fiestas y el vestuario es de 10. Como no me gustaría que la serie acabase, aquí van algunas ideas para el argumento.

Lo primero de todo, cuando tienes personajes que caen mal hay que deshacerse pronto de ellos, como hicieron en su momento con Jenny o Vanessa. Ahora deberían prescindir de Georgina y Louis. Han exprimido demasiado la historia de Blair con Louis, ¡ella nunca se casaría con un tío tan soso y aburrido, aunque sea de la realeza! Y si tienen que recurrir a bodas, accidentes de tráfico, o embarazos, es que la cosa ya está desesperada, mejor pensar un poco y contar historias más originales... Que Dan y Blair se liaran ya sería marear demasiado, pero sí sería interesante que se hicieran amigos, y no en secreto. Serena y Nate podrían tener algo más de iniciativa, pues parecen estar siempre a merced de los demás, y Chuck podría dejar de basar su vida en lo que haga Blair. Ah, y sobre todo, ¡no revelar nunca quién es Gossip Girl! La serie perdería toda la gracia.

Algunas ideas para el argumento:

- Blair contrata a un abogado (su padrastro) para conseguir el divorcio. Dan vuela con ella a Mónaco y la ayuda a ganar el caso.

- Se quedan en Mónaco unos días y Serena y Nate viajan a Mónaco a apoyar a Blair.

- Habrá varios juicios donde se revela que Louis en realidad es un manipulador odioso.

- En Mónaco, Serena y Nate se enrollan y empiezan a salir juntos.

- Blair gana el caso de divorcio.

- Serena y Blair se hacen mejores amigas de nuevo, y dejan de esconderse secretos (los momentos Blair/Serena eran de lo mejor, y casi no los hemos tenido últimamente).

- Dan y Blair se hacen amigos, y no en secreto.

- Blair vuelve a la universidad a estudiar Derecho, donde conocerá a un atractivo hijo de un magnate del Upper East Side y se enamora de él, después de hacer todo tipo de planes para que se fijara en ella.

- Dan empieza a escribir una novela sobre las vidas secretas de los Upper East Siders (pero no sobre sus amigos, sino empresarios y demás). Recibirá amenazas (también del padre del nuevo novio de Blair) para que deje de escribir, pero él sigue.

- Serena y Nate crean un imperio mediático en Internet después de deshacerse de Georgina, que desaparece de la serie (cómo odio a ese personaje). Y por cierto, ella no era Gossip Girl.

- La verdadera Gossip Girl vuelve y Serena intenta obtener más influencia que ella a través del Spectator.

- Chuck decide olvidar a Blair y comienza una relación con un personaje interpretado por Olivia Palermo, una socialite de renombre.

- El grupo (Dan, Serena, Blair, Nate y Chuck) vuelve a reunirse.

-Dan se da cuenta de que Serena ha sido su verdadero amor todo este tiempo y se confiesa ante Serena, pero ahora ella sale con Nate y le dice que no. Serena ama a Dan pero no sabe cómo dejar a Nate.

- Serena le cuenta a Blair acerca de su amor por Dan y Blair se encarga de hacer un plan a escondidas de Serena para que estén juntos.

- Serena se encuentra con la verdadera Charlie Rhodes, la contrata como ayudante y le encarga que investigue acerca de quién puede ser Gossip Girl.

- Chuck se convierte en un admirado empresario gracias a la influencia de su novia (interpretada por Olivia Palermo). Blair tiene celos, pero ve que Chuck es feliz y ella también y no intenta planear nada.

Model to watch: Beatriz Saladich

Beatriz Saladich has walked for Philip Lim, Yohji Yamamoto, Tory Burch, Jeremy Laing, United Bamboo, Custo, and most runway shows in Madrid Fashion Week and 080 Barcelona Fashion. She's nineteen and has appeared in Harper's Bazaar Spain, Vanidad, and many other magazines. As Two for the Road pointed out, Beatriz is also studying Architecture in Barcelona. She won the L'Oréal Best Model Award yesterday for her work at the spanish fashion week, and I think she truly deserves it, I bet she's going to be great. Alejandra Alonso won the award last year, and she got to star at a Chanel campaign. Hope Beatriz achieves such a great thing too!

Interviewing Serge Cajfinder, designer of Paule Ka

Last week I had the honor of meeting Serge Cajfinder, creator and designer of Paule Ka, one of my favorite labels. His Black Carpet collection was showcased in Madrid, a collection dedicated to the celebrities that wear elegant dresses on the red carpet but want to avoid excess.

Serge was born in France, but spent part of his childhood in Brazil, where their colors captivated him. When he returned to Paris he opened a fashion shop with his mother and his aunt, and they called it Paule Ka. He was seventeen years old!

I interviewed him about his inspiration, his work, his muses, the actresses he admires, his career... It was great talking to him, I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I enjoyed our conversation.

Interviewing Serge Cajfinder

How was the experience of collaborating with Garance Doré for the making of the campaign?

It was fantastic because I like her very much, I like her work and her point of view... It was great because it was one day of shooting, with the photographer [Venetia Scott], and she was shooting the shooting. It was very interesting, she is a very happy person. And she is french, so it was easier in New York. I liked the work she did, it was very cool.

The main inspirations of Paule Ka are Audrey Hepburn, Faye Dunaway, Jackie Kennedy... But, which celebrities from today inspire you?

I like Natalie Portman. Beautiful eyes... She is a beautiful woman. I also like Carey Mulligan, her look is very 50's. I don't know all the girls now, it's very difficult. I dream of 50's and 60's movies.

What's your favorite film?

That's a good question... There's a film I love which is "All about Eve", very dark.

What makes Paule Ka unique?

I think my story of where I come from, all the icons. I think what makes Paule Ka unique is the modern cuts, the fantasy, the use of black and white, masculine, and feminine, opposites that make a balance. When I see a woman wearing a Paule Ka dress on the street it makes me very proud. Maybe that dress changed her life. I always listen to the customers, I go to the shops... It's not just about being fashionable, we are respectable as well. It's about doing well the things for the people that want good things.

Is there any piece that you are particularly proud of?

The dresses, I've been doing dresses for 25 years, thousands of dresses. Designing a dress is like painting on a white canvas, you can do whatever you want, you can express so many things. It's more difficult for a man to do that.

How have you changed since you opened your first store?

Like in a wedding, when you marry somebody, you have to evolute with what it is. I think I'm very lucky to do what I do, and to meet people who like what I do. I give dresses to women in exchange of confidence. I've learnt a lot about life, about women, about me, about building... It's a life, my life.

When did you realize that Paule Ka had become a major label?

I haven't realized, I've been building this since the beginning. When I was seven years old it was my dream to be here now. I've worked a lot, a lot, a lot, to be here. Now I have more time for me, I have a big team with me... It's very difficult to realize something like that, I just feel that what I'm doing is important for me and for the customers.

Yes, it just happens. When you are so small compared to the big ones, you never feel "now I'm big", which is good, because otherwise that would be...

You are always growing

Yes, I'm always doing improvements, improve, improve.... It gives me happiness.

What would be the perfect event to wear a Black Carpet dress?

Oh, to a lot of events. We are showing this collection here in Madrid, and in Los Angeles at the same time, hopefully somebody will choose one of these dresses for the Oscars. You could wear this collection to a wedding, or a party, or even to a special dinner.

What places are you planning to visit in Madrid?

Unfortunately, not many. Last time I travelled here I went to a place to buy vintage furniture. It was not far away from here, there were a lot of shops. I'd like to stay here for the weekend, but I have to leave tomorrow.

Why did you choose Madrid to show the collection?

Because we have a lot of spanish customers in Paris, and they always told me: "Why don't you have a shop in Madrid? We need you in Madrid". The spanish woman is very Paule Ka. Now we are expanding our business around the world, and we have opened stores in Kuwait, in Dubai, Singapur, England, Belgium... Now Europe is very important for us, and in Spain we have a lot of customers. I was here twenty years ago, going to parties, and I said, "wow, people here were very nice", in Barcelona too. We've started in Madrid first. And the store is very beautiful, very inspiring. I love architecture, and we worked a lot on this space for the design.

La semana pasada tuve el honor de conocer a Serge Cajfinder, el creador y diseñador de Paule Ka, una de mis marcas favoritas. Su colección Black Carpet fue presentada en Madrid, una colección dedicada a aquellas celebrities que lucen vestidos elegantes en la alfombra roja pero que quieren evitar los excesos.

Serge nació en Francia, pero pasó parte de su infancia en Brasil, donde captó el gusto por el color. Cuando volvió a París abrió una tienda de ropa con su madre y su tía, y la llamaron Paule Ka. ¡Sólo tenía diecisiete años!

Fue estupendo hablar con él sobre su trabajo, las actrices que admira, su inspiración... Espero que la disfrutéis.

¿Cómo fue la experiencia de colaborar con Garance Doré para el making of de la campaña?

Fue fantástico porque me gusta mucho su trabajo y su punto de vista... Fue un día de rodaje genial, con la fotógrafa [Venetia Scott], y ella filmando el rodaje. Fue muy interesante, Garance es una persona muy alegre. Y como es francesa, todo fue mucho más fácil en Nueva York. Me gustó mucho el resultado, es muy cool.

La principal inspiración de Paule Ka proviene de iconos como Audrey Hepburn, Faye Dunaway, Jackie Kennedy... ¿Pero qué celebrities de hoy en día te inspiran?

Me gusta Natalie Portman, tiene unos ojos muy bonitos. Es una mujer muy bella. También me gusta Carey Mulligan, su look es muy años cincuenta. No conozco a todas las chicas de ahora, es muy difícil. Yo sueño con películas de los cincuenta y los sesenta.

¿Cuál es tu película favorita?

Ésa es una buena pregunta... Hay una película que me encanta, "Eva al desnudo", es una película muy oscura.

¿Qué hace único a Paule Ka?

La historia de dónde provengo, mis orígenes, todos los iconos. Creo que lo que hace único a Paule Ka son los cortes modernos, la fantasía, el uso del blanco y el negro, la masculinidad con la feminidad, opuestos que logran un equilibrio. Cuando veo a una mujer llevando un vestido de Paule Ka por la calle me hace sentir muy orgulloso. Quizás ese vestido le cambió la vida. Siempre escucho a los clientes, voy a las tiendas... No se trata sólo de estar a la última, nosotros también somos respetuosos. Se trata de hacer bien las cosas para la gente que quiere cosas bien hechas.

¿Hay alguna prenda en particular de la que estés especialmente orgulloso?

Los vestidos. He estado haciendo vestidos durante 25 años, miles de vestidos. Diseñar un vestido es como pintar sobre un lienzo en blanco, puedes hacer lo que quieras, expresar muchas cosas. En el caso de los hombres resulta más difícil.

¿Cómo has cambiado desde que inauguraste la primera tienda?

Es como un matrimonio, cuando te casas con alguien tienes que ir evolucionando según la otra persona. Creo que tengo mucha suerte de hacer lo que hago, y de conocer a gente a la que le gusta lo que hago. A las mujeres les ofrezco vestidos y ellas me dan confianza. He aprendido mucho sobre la vida, sobre las mujeres, sobre mí, sobre arquitectura... Es la vida, mi vida.

¿Cuándo te diste cuenta de que Paule Ka se había convertido en una marca de las grandes?

No he dado cuenta de ello, he estado trabajando en esto desde el principio. Cuando tenía siete años era mi sueño estar aquí ahora. He trabajado mucho, mucho, mucho para estar aquí. Ahora tengo más tiempo para mí, tengo un gran equipo... Es difícil darse cuenta de algo así, simplemente siento que lo que estoy haciendo es importante para mí y para los clientes.

Sí, así es. Cuando eres tan pequeño comparado con los demás, nunca piensas "ahora ya soy importante", lo que está bien, porque sino sería...

Siempre estás creciendo

Sí, siempre estoy mejorando, mejorando, mejorando. Me proporciona felicidad.

¿Cuál sería el evento perfecto para lucir un vestido Black Carpet?

Oh, en muchos eventos. Estamos presentando esta colección aquí en Madrid y en Los Angeles a la vez, con suerte alguien elegirá uno de estos vestidos para los Oscar. Podrías llevar esta colección en una boda, una fiesta, o a una cena especial.

¿Qué lugares de Madrid planeas visitar?

Desafortunadamente no muchos. La última vez que viajé aquí fui a una tienda de muebles vintage. No estaba muy lejos de aquí, en una zona con muchas tiendas. Me gustaría quedarme durante el fin de semana, pero me tengo que ir mañana.

¿Por qué has elegido Madrid para presentar la colección?

Porque tenemos muchos clientes españoles en Paris, y siempre me decían: "¿Por qué no tienes una tienda en Madrid? Te necesitamos en Madrid". La mujer española es muy Paule Ka. Ahora estamos expandiendo el negocio alrededor del mundo, hemos abierto tiendas en Kuwait, Dubai. Singapur, Inglaterra, Bélgica... Europa es muy importante para nosotros, y en España tenemos muchos clientes. Estuve aquí hace veinte años, en varias fiestas, y dije "guau, la gente aquí es muy amable", y en Barcelona también. La tienda de Madrid es muy bonita, muy inspiradora. Me encanta la arquitectura, trabajamos mucho en el diseño del espacio.

Jessica Alba is one of my favourite it-girls. She's the best at choosing summer outfits (here you have the proof), and she dresses very good in winter too. She has hundreds of scarves! Even though her style is very predictable, she takes risks too (see picture below)

Maybe you have seen these already, but I had to post them anyway. They are too good, cute, and cheesy! These had to be on the blog. I love Petite Tiara's work, this idea is so original! Disney characters on the cover of magazines... It's so greatly done and the personality of the characters is perfectly related to the spirit of the magazine chosen. Yasmin is that provocative and rebel girl that reads Cosmopolitan, Cinderella is more subtle, so she's on the cover of Elle, Snowhite is pure, elegant and classic, perfect for Vogue US, and Pocahontas is a Nylon hipster. I love the one with the little Mermaid on Seventeen, and Rapunzel on Teen Vogue. The prince editions are awesome too. Check her Tumblr for a Disney sweet overdose.

Quizás ya las habeis visto, pero tenía que postearlas. ¡Son tan geniales, monas, y cursis! Tenían que estar en el blog. Me encanta el trabajo de Petite Tiara, ¡la idea es tan original! Personajes de Disney en las portadas de revistas... Está genial hecho, y la personalidad de los personajes está perfectamente elegida según el espíritu de la revista. Yasmin es la chica provocativa y rebelde que lee Cosmopolitan, Cenicienta es algo más discreta, así que aparece en Elle, Blancanieves es pura, elegante y clásica, perfecta para Vogue US, y Pocahontas es la hipster de Nylon. Me encanta la de la Sirenita en Seventeen y Rapunzel en Teen Vogue. La versión de los príncipes de Disney es muy buena también. Pasaos por su Tumblr para una sobredosis dulce de Disney.

Celebrating fashion for men - The Corner and Hercules

The Corner and Hercules collaborated for the edition of a very special book containing unseen images from the five years of the magazine. As an ode to mediterranean fashion for men, they've reunited some of their most iconic images. Hamish Bowles, Mariacarla Boscono, Raquel Zimmermann, Ana Beatriz Barros, Danny Beauchamp... They've mixed fresh and young photos with more elegant and serious looks. The result is very refreshing and inspiring.

Revenge, Vimeo Awards... Things to keep an eye on

Some times I have so many things to tell you that I don't know which one to post about and it's a chaos. So in this post you'll find a couple of things that have caught my eye on the last few days. //// A veces tengo tantas cosas de las que hablaros que no sé cuál publicar primero y acaba siendo un caos. Así que en este post os cuento un par de pistas que han captado mi interés hace poco.

Revenge

On Tuesday I was at the screeening of the first chaper of Revenge, the tv series by Disney (don't be fooled by it, it's not cheesy at all). It's about a girl, Amanda, that returns to the East Hamptons to take revenge of the people that destroyed her family. Luxury houses, betrayal, parties, mistery, 100% preppy looks... It's like The O.C., with intrigue and treason. They've shown 13 episodes on the USA, and Fox premiered the first episode in Spain yesterday. I'm addicted already. My favourite characters are Jack and Nolan. Fortunately the series enjoys a big audience, so there's no fear of it being cancelled, like it sadly happened to How to make it in America.

El martes estuve en la proyección del primer capítulo de Revenge, la serie de televisión creada por Disney (que no os engañe, no es para niños) ambientada en los Hamptons sobre una chica, Amanda, que vuelve para vengarse de los que destrozaron injustamente a su familia. Casas de lujo, tramas enrevesadas, fiestas, intriga, looks 100% preppy... Es como The O.C. pero con misterio y traición. De momento se han emitido 13 episodios en Estados Unidos, y se estrenó ayer en España en Fox. Yo ya estoy enganchada. Mis personajes favoritos son Jack y Nolan. Por suerte tiene mucha audiencia y no hay temor a que la cancelen, como por desgracia ha pasado con How to make it in America.

Vimeo is the YouTube of the artists. The most creative and stylish videos are uploaded to this platform known for being trendsetter and independent. They've organized an Awards Festival, and for the first time, fashion videos can be part of the contest too. The jury is composed of artists, animators, sportsmen, photographers... The judge for the Fashion category is Nick Knight, so you can get an idea of the top-level of this edition. Oh, and one of the prizes is $30.000... Here you have all the information. Este año han convocado otra edición de los premios Vimeo, y como novedad se pueden presentar vídeos de moda. El jurado está compuesto por artistas, animadores, deportistas, fotógrafos... Rooney Mara caught my eye on The Social Network, and now she's everywhere thanks to the promotional tour of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I posted about her on the Coolway blog today, but I had to share these pics with you too. She has made some interesting wardrobe choices for her latest events. That Carven coat is to die for! And the Givenchy white dress is heaven. By the way, did you know that she's Kate Mara's sister?

Mythbusted! Fashion don'ts that actually look good

Fashion rules are meant to be broken. Even though there are new trends every season, the conventional rules stick around for ages. The guidelines that your grandmother follows by heart are difficult to forget when choosing an outfit every morning. But fashion shows that everything can look good if you know how to wear it (except for the animal print total look, I can't stand that). So, just like in that tv show "Mythbusters" in which they prove the crazy science myths (I watched it once that there wasn't anything interesting on the tv), here you have the busted fashion myths.

Las reglas en la moda están para romperlas. Aunque hay nuevas tendencias cada temporada, las reglas convencionales perduran años y años. Esas normas que tu abuela sigue a rajatabla son difíciles de dejar atrás cuando se elige un look cada mañana. Pero la moda demuestra que todo puede quedar bien si se sabe cómo llevarlo (menos el total look de animal print, con eso no he podido).Así que igual que en ese programa "Cazadores de mitos" en el que prueban a demostrar los mitos de la ciencia (sólo lo he visto una vez cuando no había nada interesante en la televisión), aquí tenéis algunos mitos de la moda cazados.

1. Mixing prints

2. Oversize everything

Fashion is about balance, but the opposite is great too. Mary-Kate Olsen is a fan of the oversize look.

3. Double denim

A very nice effect, but try to avoid an 80's look. Here you have some inspiration for this trend.

4. Visible underwear

Your grandmother wouldn't aprove, but every fashionista would!

5. Flats for formal events

You can wear flats whenever you like (see some examples here)

6. Pijamas on the street

You can blame Dolce & Gabbana

7. Heels with socks

Well done, Alexa and Leighton!

8. Gold with silver

This is a difficult one.

9. Black with navy

It looks very elegant if done right.

10. Matching shoes and handbag

It used to be a fashion do, and now it's a don't. Either way, if it looks ok, who cares?

11. Yellow

And on blondes! A risky choice.

12. Showing roots

Don't worry if you don't have time to dye your hair...

13. Blonde hair and dark eyebrows

It's not a faux pas anymore.

Some couples were just made for each other. Just look at them, their styles couldn't match more. Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl are famous for their classy and polished looks. I love each and every of their outfits!

You all know Olivia Palermo (The City, the Upper East Side socialites, etc), and Johannes, born in Germany, works as a model. They've been dating since 2008 and have starred together in many editorials and as the face of the Mango ads.

One of my favourite things of A single man is its exquisite art direction. It is obvious that Tom Ford directed it, every aesthetic aspect is examined to the limit. The clothes (of course), the soundtrack... And the interior design. Colin Firth's house is so amazing and elegant, I love it. It mixes modern structures with classical elements. Everything is minimal, it looks as if you lived inside a GQ or Esquire magazine.

Julianne Moore's house was cool too
