Well, that was awkward...but to the point, which I like.

So, who likes to read through Paul's letters (raise your hand)? I love his letters; they remind me of a song by Anberlin called Dismantle Repair...listen to it...seriously...Paul's words (which are from God) dismantle the "Joel" I talked about in the last blog I wrote, You're Not Dead Yet, and repair him to look like Christ, which is such a beautifully painful process.

Back to the point.

I have been reading backwards through the New Testament (not actually reading backwards, that would be a challenge), and I notice how Paul always manages to throw in the needs of himself and the other disciples or saints. What I like most about this is not that he is doing what every missionary does, ask for money and prayer-it is the way he asks. Paul ask out of boldness and expectation, and he was pretty much convicting in the way he went about it. He knew his role and the role of the body. He was called to spread the Gospel, and they were called to support his call. So he was blunt, spoke bold in instances, and spoke with expectation because he knew that no one could argue his point when it came down to it... not to mention that he would brag about what they would do for him to others so they also had a reputation to up keep when others were in need.

With that said.

I have a need, I need $1,649.33 dollars in a few weeks. Many will read this and say "I don't have $1,643.33 dollars to spare," and based off the fact that they can't fully solve my problem in one swing they won't do anything. Trust me when I tell you that NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL. I have 1,343 friends on Facebook (I am kind of a big deal). If each one of them gave a dollar I would almost be there. So, SHARE THIS NEED for me! Send my blogs to friends and family. Let them and God decide if supporting me is in His will, but PLEASE don't limit God by not sharing this.

I am writing this because I know this is where I am supposed to be. I came here to go through 11 months of transformation not only for the places that I am ministering in, but for myself as well. So I challenge you, the body, to do your part in keeping me on the field laboring for the Kingdom. Every member of the body has a role. Being on the field on the other side of the world is mine, and supporting me, like it or not, is yours. Like Paul, I say this knowing that you know this and knowing that you will continue to bless me as you have done so much in the past, which I am grateful for!

I thank you so much for your prayer and support and for what you will continue to do for me.

P.S. If you found this offensive read 2 Corinthians 9... Boldness and expectation.

It has been 1 week since our live and the lives of our family and friends have changed forever. Many hearts have been broken, families saved, and homes repaired. What an emotional week it has been for everyone. 300,000 people were affected from the power outage in our area, which stirred many emotions. As we all are called back to work, many people in the area struggle with trying to serve our community and continue the previous "normal" work and family day to day routines.

As I write this blog, the emotions from the week are still so real. Emotions that make us all want to jump in and serve and try to figure out a better disaster plan so that maybe next time, many will be helped sooner and more efficiently.

I want to say Thank you to all those who went out to check on a neighbor, cooked a meal, offered a home, a hug, a kiss, or simply prayed for those in need. I have never met so many people who pulled together to make the most of all their resources, to make a difference, to make each moment in the days following the tornados count!

Below is a list of needs from Inside Out Ministries. A Non Profit Organization based out of Madison, AL. Any items donated would help them replenish their pantries and allow them to bless others.

MAY 1, 2011 SPECIAL NEEDS

Friends,

Thank you all for responding to our current needs. As the recovery from recent days continues, there are special needs. Inside-Out has been able to share your gifts freely and provide with local relief centers in different communities in the North Alabama area.

Now – our pantry has provided and while not empty is in great need of the

following:

Canned proteins, canned fruits, mac’n'cheese, spaghetti sauce and noodles, saltine crackers, boxed cereals, peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers, individual peanut butters, individual fruits, snacks for emergency food packs.

Frozen (we have power now, PTL and thank you TVA and Hsv Util) ground beef and ground turkey, hamburger patties, hotdogs, bologna.

Toiletries – toilet paper, paper towels, diapers (2,3,4,5,6), feminine products, deordorants, hand sanitizer, etc.

Funds – if you are able to give, mail donations to Inside-Out Ministries, Inc. at P.O. Box 2004, Madison, AL 35758. Your funds will be used to provide the needed items at the best times.

Thank you for helping and praying! We also have families that need bedding, furniture, etc. but these needs must be handled separately.

We’ll post more later about the specifics.

More to come and we’ll be in the office Mon,Wed, Fri from 9:30-12:30 if all our Volunteers are in and we aren't need out in the community. The volunteers of the community have been so wonderful! Overflowing love and caring…Blessings,

In grateful service,

Deborah Ward

256-325-5193

www.inside-outministries.org

"To be blessed" means 'to be favored by God'. Blessings therefore are directly associated with God and come from God. Therefore to express a blessing, is like bestowing a wish on someone that she will experience the favor of God.

As the days go by and we see more and more of the damage and desolation from the April 27, 2011 tornadoes we come to realize how small our world really is!!

As people come together and reach out to help one another we know that God is still on the throne and all is well.

As hard as it is to answer the question why we know that what has happened is that we have all come together to help and to build a new community among the ruins. Volunteers have helped survivors and made new friends for a lifetime.

As I write this more people are coming to help - people from Tennessee helping those from Alabama and many more. So if you are a team coming to help just follow the link below for updates and information. May God Bless all of us and keep us safe!!

This is footage that I shot on a day off on the World Race. Our days off are our time to relax and get refueled for more ministry. After finding this little town with my team (Dunamis) on a hike one day, we decided to come back with some of our squad-mates to hangout, enjoy the BEST COFFEE EVER, and play with the kids. When we were walking back home it hit me, that was the most ministry I had done since living here. Just by hanging out with people and enjoying each others company, we wound up sharing Christ though actions more so then words. If you look at Christ life I think it is safe to say you can see he spent more time with people and loving people then just preaching. Imagine if we genuinely did this with our lives what the world would look like. Instead of getting caught up in rules, regulations, and legalism lets just get lost in LOVE for a change...

What is church to you..? Really, have you ever thought about it? What makes "church" for you? Good preacher or speaker? Good music with cool lights and video? If you lost that would you still go? After encountering what I encountered tonight on the back patio of our house and witnessing the things I have seen in the church my team is working with in Corbano, I have to question what "church" really is to me. To me church has always been a place of comfort and peace. A place where you go to sing songs, hear a message, and fellowship with one another.

Now that I have decided to take comfort out of the equation! What is "church" to me?

Church to me now is a group of people gathered for the cause of praising God. On a back patio or an old concrete and tin building, it has nothing to do with my comfort, but everything to do with praising God. I tend to think... a lot... that if I am going to do something for God, He should make the way well lit and comfortable. WAKE UP CALL for me and every other Christian! We chose and were chosen to take the hard road. It is not about us anymore, it is about Him, and if He chooses to make our road harder to show how much he can overcome it then so be it. We are called to listen and go, not to question.

Now that I can't sing the songs I know and understand the messages! What is "church" to me?

It doesn't matter if I know or understand every single thing that is going on around me. As long as I know that we are both worshiping the same God, He will grant me all understanding I need to know. When it comes down to it we all have a unique voice that God has given us. We all have a unique way, wither we know it or not, to worship God. He desires and intimate relationship with me, a relationship that will more then likely look nothing like your relationship with Him. So why should all of the sudden my worship to Him change because the song that is playing isn't, "Our God is greater, our God is stronger..."? Worship isn't a song, it is you communicating to God your love, thanksgiving, adoration, and appreciation to Him for just being who He is. Literally, right now as I am typing this one of my squad mates is on the roof of our house singing out to God. Just her, God, and her heart crying out to him... That is genuine, raw, real, and uncut worship to me.

So I'll ask the question again, what is church to you?
