It was Dolce & Gabbana – from head to toe – for Sonam Kapoor’s final appearance at the winner’s party at the Cannes Film Festival last night!

The red velvet strapless dress with matching pumps and a jeweled headband made her look a tad like Princess Mia of Genovia from The Princess Diaries!

Yes, this was a refreshing look but sadly this year, none of her appearances made up for the fab Jean Paul Gaultier gown she wore the last time around!

Live Lip-Dub Proposal

We’ve all seen our Bollywood brigade dance around lip-syncing to songs, but this wedding proposal takes things to a different level entirely. Isaac Lamb got his brother to make his girlfriend, Amy Frankel, sit down at the back of a vehicle and put on some headphones. Amy could then hear the song of choice, but no one else could – yet they all managed to live dub the song perfectly and pull off a stunning wedding proposal. Wanna see?!

Just… wow, right? Can you imagine how long it must have taken them to practice all of that – from the timings to the smallest of moves? And so innovative, too – I wasn’t expecting the marching band and I certainly wasn’t expecting there to people on Skype waiting to jump in as well *lol*. Love how basically the entire family (and so many friends) came together to pull this off, I know I would feel so, so special knowing all these people too that much time out to get this just right – for me! Lucky girl.

BTW, this song by Bruno Mars seems to be a favourite for wedding proposals (no guesses as to why); we also saw it used in a Disney Flash Mob proposal.

Shamita Singha as you know, is a model and Sommelier and now she’s adding bar-owner to her cap! She and her sister Mashoom Singha have just opened a cute little speak-easy in Bandra above the Yellow Tree Cafe. I’m told they’ll be holding the Bombay Cocktail Club there on Monday’s soon and it’s just a great place to enjoy a sunset cocktail with some tapas or meet a friend for drinks before a big night! Enjoy :)
PS. This bar has no name just hit number 2 in the elevator!

Despite being on-again-off-again BFFs with Shah Rukh Khan there’s no real tension between Farah Khan and Karan Johar.

The reason she didn’t make it to the party is because she’s been advised three weeks bed rest after her liposuction surgery. She did send KJo birthday wished in advance and now I’m dying to see what she looks like when she’s back!

After Ram Gopal Varma’s newest flick, Department bombed at the box office, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding it. Ram Gopal Varma has been speaking to the media about all the people he holds responsible for the debacle. To begin with, RGV’s totally miffed with the producer, Dharam Oberoi and wishes he never has to see him again. We also told you about RGV blaming Sanjay Dutt for the fate of the movie. Now, after being done complaining about Sanju Baba’s erratic behaviour, Ramu has managed to drag Abhishek Bachchan into the mess.

Ramu blames Abhishek for introducing him to Sanjay. According to him, the producer and Sanjay Dutt were so unprofessional that their intervention in his filmmaking process was the reason Department failed. But, I don’t remember any of these guys being around when Ramu made other disastrous movies like Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag or Rann and so many others.

Buzz suggests that Ahmed Khan, who is close to both Sanju Baba and Ramu, is trying to patch things up between them. I feel that the filmmaker needs to stop the blame game and take full responsibilty for the torture he subjects us to with each successive flick. And I hope the guy who gave us awesome flicks like Rangeela, Company and Sarkar takes time to reflect upon the kind of movies he wants to make and what works for him, and starts making them again.

We told you today that it looks like love is back in the air for exes Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone and now I have some more evidence from KJo’s epic birthday bash to prove it.
RK and DP were spotted dancing up close and personal at the party with Dippy blushing a deep crimson every time she got a look from any of the girls who were trying (unsuccessfully) to get Ranbir’s attention! My spy says she’s made lots of headway winning him back from Katrina Kaif (who was in Bangkok and couldn’t make the party.)

Well you know what they say kids, you snooze you lose! Hold that tattoo…

Smoking of course, what did you think?! Hrithik Roshan was overheard recanting his experience of quitting smoking recently and kept asking everyone he met to kick the habit too. He also spent a fair amount of time chatting with Shah Rukh Khan and it takes some serious power to exercise restrain around a chain smoker, so nice one Hrithik!
