During Easter a lot of us are cooking eggs to eat or to hunt. Either way, how are you cooking your eggs?

Do you boil them?

Let me give you an awesome hassle free way to make what is formerly called hard boiled eggs.

Don’t BOIL them, BAKE them!! Yep you heard right.

Take a muffin pan place your eggs in the pan.

Preheat the oven to 325F

Bake eggs for 22-25 mins.

Remove and immediately dump into a bowl of ice water. (this makes them easy to peel)

Voila! NO BOILING OR WATCHING REQUIRED. Depending on how done you like your eggs you will soon master how long to cook them down to the minute.  Put it in the oven and walk away!!

While working this months project Organizing Home Office Files I wanted to do add a quick project concerning incoming mail.

Here is my system for mail:( You can apply the basic steps I use for our monthly projects to your mail system: Sort, Straighten, Shine,and Sustain)

1.As soon as mail comes in SORT through it.

2. Next STRAIGHTEN it up by dividing it into piles of Trash, To Do, To File, and Magazine/ Catalog.

3. SHINE:

Clip the To Do pile to our family calendar posted in the kitchen. ( this is our Information Station for everyone)

Put the magazines in a nearby magazine holder.

The “To File” pile goes in a small basket on my kitchen counter. It looks clean and simple and not in a pile that gets shuffled around and burried.

4. SUSTAIN:

When the magazine holder begins to get too full it is time to weed out. As I read my magazines I pull out only the things I really want to  hold on to and chunk the rest. I have a special folder for all the clippings.

Every weekend when I clean my house the small basket gets emptied and those papers are filed in my office files on another level of our home. Even when I skip out on filing they are still contained in that cute basket vs piled up on the counter. As i confessed before in Confessions of 2013 my computer room is the messiest room in the house often causing me not to want to go in there (even to file mail!). Just shows how every little thing makes a difference. It is like a domino effect. With this project I am in the beginnings of taking hold of my home office.

So where does all the information in your files come from. It sneaks its way in from the mailbox and to the counter where it hangs out until it is a big ugly paper monster. Sound familiar? Mail plays such a big part in our home files that I decided to do a quick project this month. Visit Quick Project- Mail System to a quick overhaul on how you process all the incoming mail. Also find out where to go to opt out of junk mail.

Ok so let’s think, how are we going to sustain our filing system? This may take a little of getting use to. Just like everything else it may take a little trial and error. The most important thing is to try to keep it SIMPLE. Do not think of some over extravagant system that is unacheivable. We simply want to keep our files organized.

Yearly when it is tax season  sort through and reevaluated all of your files.

When your files are organized you know where everything is, tax time is easier, bills are paid,etc.

Make this months project an annual project to help clean up your files every year.

Week Three- Those of you who follow me know that we Shine on Week 3.

Did you miss Week One or Week Two? That’s ok. Just click the links to see what you missed. It is NEVER too late to get started.

So how will you shine? Well that depends on what makes you feel good. Does it matter to you what color the hanging files are? Or if the labels are hand written or made with a label maker? Whatever it is that gives you those warm fuzzies then make it happen.

I have many green hanging folders and the frugal side of me does not want to waste those. So mine will all be the same color. One thing that does bother me is broken or cracked file tabs. I also like the neatness of using a label maker for the file labels instead of the paper inserts it comes with. Make sure that you put all your important documents in a fireproof safe place.

I printed off some water bottle labels.

Create Your Own Water Bottle Labels

Create Your Own Water Bottle Label with this FREE template for you to adjust and create your own. You can change to background color, wording, font, etc to create it to your liking. Do begin editing after opening the document don’t forget to click “enable editing”.
They do sell water bottle label stickers you could print this template on if you prefered. I just print them on cardstock, cut them out, and put them on the bottles with double sided tape.

I found a 5 pack of fake mustaches at the dollar store. I bought them ALL.

Are you feeling pretty smart?

If you need a good humbling just try to take a Calculus class after you haven’t looked at a math problem in at least 10 years!

Geez! Many of you may have thought I fell off the face of the earth. Well I didn’t I just was in a math tornado.

I do apologize for missing some postings. Although I know you guys have all made it just fine without me.

I feel like maybe I have gotten the math course under control for now. I have finally hit midterm point and I have an A!! Can you believe it? What did I sign up for? What was I thinking?!

I signed up for an additional class AND took Calculus. I will know better next time. It is hard to be 100% everything. Mom, Wife, Housekeeper, Secretary, Cook, Christian, Employee, Blogger and now Student. You guys know what I mean. My house has paid for it.(maybe my looks too and my husband) I am very thankful for him he is very supportive. I love him muches! I knew I could not stay checked out for long I gotta get back on the horse. Math and all, let’s plow ahead! I will pick up where I left off.

So do you enjoy math? Want some to do? I told my bestie I would be a sarogate for her if she would do my math! Sounded like an even trade to me.
