Well, it was now the long weekend. (I am writing this several days later...) Brendon and I were trying to figure out what to do. The weather, clearly not cooperating simply because I am from Vancouver, was overcast and nearly raining. I, being from a place where rain was invented, was not discouraged by slight cloudiness, but Brendon, born of sun and perfect blue skies, was pretty unsure of the whole idea.

Anyway, after much Googling amp; Google Mapping, we decided to head down South to a par...

Day 3... Friday, October 3rd, 2008

All morning (well, 2 hours of it, anyway) spent trying to get photos edited and online. Brendon's computer
of hell doesn't quite help. Duncan and I were joking that I could edit photos faster using an abacus.

Anyway, right now I'm on the train. I used some google maps action to find out how to get out of the 'burbs and
into the city. Despite wandering around for 20 km trying to find the entrance to the train station, it was generally
easy. It is so hot...

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

After Brendon left for work this mornig (I felt like a stay-at-home wife) I fell back asleep. This was around 7:30 am. I woke up about 4 hours later, during a crazy dream about a captive killer whale who ate a giant moray eel, who had my arm in its mouth (with me still attached) ... Obviously my brain was telling me, in no uncertain terms, quot;It's time to wake up.quot;

Earlier in the morning (or was it last night?) I had struggled with the question quot;What t...

Day 1...

I got to the airport in plenty of time... Colin drove, which was only mildly stressful. Checking in was completely uneventful. I bought Subway from yet another completely unhappy airport employee, who only was friendly after he asked me for ID, then thought he recognized me. Would I be his friend had he been rude and unhelpful not once, but twice? Lunch was disgusting... It is obviously the cheese that makes the Roast Chicken a success...

In the waiting room, things were fine unti...

Well, I've arrived in Austrlia! I made it. I am alive! It was pretty touch and go for a while there. Not the alive part, I mean the making it to Australia part... Let me tell you a story of incredible stupidity:

It all began on Sunday morning. As I slowly started packing my things (my flight was at midnight on Monday) I started thinking of what I should bring. Item number 1 that came to mind: Passport. As I headed over to my passport's usual resting place, a disturbing thought entered my brai...

Here we are, September 23rd. We're nearly finished the month of September! Oh my god time is just flying by. I guess that when you are busy, it tends to do that. And I've been busy. Not being terribly productive, but the last month has been pretty full-on, at least quot;exercise-wisequot;, and that makes time fly too.

My point being that I leave for Oztralia in about 6 days. Isn't that exciting? Yes, dear reader, it is. It's exciting on many levels. Allow me to elucidate.

a) I get to take ...
