BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 & BlackBerry OS 10 to be shown at official CES 2012 event

Finally, it is here, we are going to witness Both Playbook OS 2.0 and Blackberry OS 10 next week. January 10 to be exact on an intimate event hosted in Las Vegas.

The much anticipated QNX powered device shall be rejuvenated with OS 2. Some may feel it's a little too late, but hey, better late than never. With the massive price drop (299 USD) this looks like a pretty good deal. i got it for RM 2200(700 USD) few months back. With the android side loading capability and also access to Android Market, this will be the best tablet under 300.

Not only that but also their new mobile operating system BB OS 10 ( previously BBX) is also going to be shown during CES, we were actually thinking that it will only be shown durin Mobile World Congress, but it is being showcased faster than we thought.

I am really hoping that both the OS will do justice to the massively hyped up pre-launch events.

p/s: i still have a soft spot for RIM :p

il dolce far niente..

Some have heard the phrase while in Europe, some have seen it scribbled in a typical coffee bars, and the rest would have heard it from the movie Eat, Pray, Love. If you haven't come across the phrase, please, let me enlighten you. ‘’il dolce far niente’’ is an italian saying which means the sweetness of doing nothing. When i first heard this phrase, i was 18 while working for Segafredo, i met an Italian . His name was Simon (yes i know simon is not very italian). His a cool guy, he was doing import export in South Asia. I see him 2-3 times a year, when he is in Malaysia for business. He comes to Segafredo for his daily caffeine fix. If there is 2 things i can remember from Segafredo days, that will be 1. Un Caffe Per Amico and 2. Il Dolce Far Niente

i saw Simon one day near Jalan Imbi, close by the famous Bak Kut Teh Shop. Around 5 p.m. in the evening, i was on my way to work from college, i saw Simon sitting on the bench in this park looking at Burmese kids playing. what caught my eye was the way he sat, he was sitting straight, very straight. A perfect picture i can give you is Tom Hanks in Forest Gump, with the chocolate box… yes, that's how he sat,

So i met him later again that evening and i told him i saw him there, he said, ‘’aaaaaah, that is il dolce far niente’’. He later explained to me saying that is moment for himself and he went on and on on the topic which did not make sense to me, at that age, what i interpreted was the luxury of time. Where you have no worries, not rushing for anything, not waiting for anything because all you have is money, and time.

But i was wrong .

What il dolce far niente means is just time for yourself, doing nothing ,nothing at all. Its is not where you take 5 for a smoke, it is not when you go home and watch TV by yourself. No sir, that is not it.

Let me tell you how it works, go to the nearest park, lake or jogging track. If there is none near you, look for it on the route to or from work. Take 15 minutes, sit there, breathe and do nothing. Leave your phone in the glove compartment of your car, Maybe for the first week you still be thinking about work, but eventually you will be able to keep your mind free. Try if and see how that works for you.

Majority if not all Malaysian are a busy lot. We work from sunrise to sundown, sometimes during weekend too. By the time we get home, we have chores to do and little time with the kids. With the very little time and energy we have at the end of the day, we probably have sometime for a Tv show ( or not)

I can’t stress enough how much this 15 minutes will mean to you when you start taking time for yourself. On a larger scale, I have a friend who i envy of. He is in Dubai, having a perfect pint as i am composing this post. He usually takes off the 2 remaining weeks of the years for a getaway. This year he went to Singapore, then to France before joining his family in Dubai for X’mas. I remember a couple of years back he went to Pangkor all alone just to have some time for himself. I envy him not because he travels around the world, but because he manages to find time just for himself, leaving everything back home, just himself all alone. I wish i can do that once a year, just a couple of nights will do. The few places that i felt so relaxed and i really wish to go back is Danau Toba in Bali, Ubud and Tegalalang in Bali, Lumut in Perak and small little Taiping Town

Well, i still have 4 more days till 2012, let see if i can make it happen. And do try il dolce far niente. for once, and please do tell me how it worked for you

How to install android on my playbook

On this post, i will share how do we run / sideload android apps fr the playbook. Since the os 2.0 release has been pushed to Feb 2012. And im pretty sure that there are mant like me, who want to get their hands on os 2.0

This will be the easiest way to get the android apps ruining in your playbook. Trust me ,it doesn't gets any easier than this post..

1. Back up your playbook

2. Download and install the Jave Runtime Environment suited for your PC Click Here – look for the latest Java Runtime Enviroment (JRE)

3. Download and Install Dau Den PlayBook Installer (DDPB Installer) Click here

4. Download any converted apk/bar file to install . in this case lest try Angry Birds Click Here

5. Set Your Playbook in developement mode -In the Setting tab, in Security Tab, in Development Mode slide to turn on development mode.

6. Password is a must, in case you have yet to set up password please do so. In the Setting tab, in Security Tab, in Password slide to turn on enable password

7. Connect your Playbook to your PC ( you can exit the Desktop Manager because we wont be needing it)

8. Run Dau Den PlayBook Installer (DDPB Installer) in your PC

9. Key In your Ip Address can be found here in your playbook . n the Setting tab, in Security Tab, in Development Mode

10. Key in your password

11. Click Add in DDPB to search for the apk or bar file that you want to install

12. Tick the app that you want to install and click install

13, Say Thank You

I just recently updated my Playbook to OS 2.0 and it took me quite some time to side load android apps. It was also not easy getting a clear guide on how to install the beats os. But in this post i have made it very simple and clear on how to download OS 2.0 Beta.

Few thing to take note.

- Upon registering, you will need to install the update within 24 hours, which failing to do so will not show any OS updates and you will need to re-register you pin.

1. Back up your playbook.

2, Register your PlayBook for Beta access at RIM’s site click here

3. Key in your Playbook Pin and also your email address.

4. Check for OTA software updates on your playbook

iP4S - fashion accessory . . .or a Smartphone?

The recent announcement of the iPhone 4S has been a shock to many. Some had mixed feeling, but my social updates timeline are filled with frustrated and disappointed bunch of Apple fans. The anti Apple fans were also having a gala mocking the iPhone 4S. Some even said Steve died due the response of the IPhone 4S .

Before i go on any further, let me clarify something, i am no a fan boy, i do not like apple products and i think that most if not all Apple products are more of a fashion statement than a productive piece of Tech.

But i think the iPhone 4S is the best smartphone that Apple has ever came out with. Why you may ask – Let me go on with the tech spec 1st

A5 Dual Core processor (that’s as good as the netbook)
Bluetooth 4.0 (faster/seamless connection speed)
PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU dual core graphic chip
1080p hd quality – the 720 from iPhone 4 is good enough to be honest
Siri (i will tell you more)
786mb RAM

The above spec are up to par with the best smartphone’s out there. And lets talk about Siri. Siri is something not that new to be honest. In fact we had something called Vlingo quite sometime back. But this Siri is a better version of Vlingo and its full featured and free too. Apple bought Siri last year April for 200 million bucks. it won the bid against Google at that time to get Siri. This Siri (so called personal assistance is a cloud based app. It synchronizes multiple data sources from the internet, your phone database/ gps to give you the best answer. It’s basically a voice dictated app that help you organize yourself.

I am not sure how effective it will be for us Asian as, i myself am having trouble with my Vlingo. It simply cant recognize my accent. I am also not sure how much will one be dependent to this Siri. At least not until i see an actual unit and test it.

What i am really pissed is, people are not seeing all these enhancement. What i hear the say is ‘’ this is so disappointing!, they just put the ipad 2 processor and upgraded it and call it iPhone 4s! that's a rip off!’’. Upon hearing this, i will usually take a deep breathe to calm myself and refrain myself from using a club to hit the person who just blurted that out. How is that a rip off? you get so much enhancement, and its selling for the same price you bought your iPhone 4 for. I even heard a friend said that they should have at least call it A6 processor instead of A5, its old! its as old as ipad 2!

If you still don't get what i am saying, What i mean is, people would have bought the iPhone with no complaints if the phone is called IPhone 5 , had a mere 10% improvement but with a whole new design. My point is, people don't want to be buying a phone that looks like the iPhone 4!, that makes my IPhone 4S nothing special than the dude next to me that has a iPhone 4. The features of the phone seems to be not important compared to a new outlook. This is why i call the iPhone a fashion accessory!

My advice is, if you have an iPhone 4, keep it, save that money. Its good enough unless you think you owe Steve Job all your money. I am not saying the IPhone 4S is not good, its really good and i even might get one! But buy if for the functionality , and not to have it as a statement.

OH YA, to the folks who was disappointed with the design, The IPhone 4S is sold out 600,000 units in less than 12 hours it opened for pre booking in the US. That is a record for the fastest selling mobile phone. Now eat that.

One of the most common questions we get as Salesforce consultants is “How can we effectively leverage Chatter in our company?” Here are our 10 do’s and dont’s for making the most of Salesforce Chatter:

Salesforce Chatter Tip 1: DON’T post that YouTube link of Jimmy Kimmel.
While Chatter may allow for a certain level of collaboration and camaraderie, Chatter is meant to provide information that would appeal to your entire company and ultimately increase productivity. And while Jimmy Kimmel might provide great comic relief, it won’t enhance the company’s productivity – which is the idea behind Chatter. Not to mention, it might make you look like a slacker.

Salesforce Chatter Tip 2: DON’T write lengthy posts
Quick, to-the-point and relevant. That should be your guideline when posting on Chatter. People don’t have time to read long-winded posts.

Salesforce Chatter Tip 3: DON’T get too personal
You enjoy showing colleagues pictures of your frequent trips to Lake Tahoe. Now while you think it might be an easier way to show off your black diamond skills, don’t post it to Chatter. If it’s not relevant to your business or industry, don’t post it.

Salesforce Chatter Tip 4: DON’T like everything everyone in your company says and does.
Think of it as a beauty pageant. They may all look fantastic and have AMAZING thoughts on world peace but only one of these fine ladies/gentlemen is walking away with the crown. Treat your ‘likes’ as such, by rationing them out they have meaning to you and the person you dish out that crown to.

Salesforce Chatter Tip 5: DO post useful assets
Did you just create an OMG-worthy presentation for a prospective client and think your colleagues could benefit from it? Post it to Chatter. Is there a new whitepaper or webcast your company is using to lure in clients? Absolutely share it. Is there a thought leadership piece that you read about your industry? Go for it – post it to Chatter. The more you can educate your employees about your business and industry, the better off your company.

Salesforce Chatter Tip 6: DO follow accounts and data
Did you just get a new lead and you’re super excited about it? Instead of asking your colleagues or obsessively logging into salesforce.com, just follow it on Chatter and anytime there is activity or changes made to the account, you will automatically be notified.

Salesforce Chatter Tip 7: DON’T follow your coworkers around the office
That’s just weird. But you can follow them on Chatter. Follow people in all departments. Marketing probably has a great new tool for you to use. Sales might be in contact with someone you are also in contact with. You never know when there is an opportunity for cross-collaboration even if it’s outside of your department so be sure to follow people across all departments.

Salesforce Chatter Tip 8: DO ask or offer help
Often times, people will email specific colleagues looking for a solution to a particular problem. With Chatter all you have to do is post a question and your colleagues can respond. The benefits are that everyone can see it and they will become educated around the solution. Now that’s it’s on Chatter, people don’t have to go hunting for the same answer twice. Result: increased productivity.

Salesforce Chatter Tip 9: DO take advantage of Chatter Groups
Is your organization broken down into territories? Maybe you have project based teams? Chatter groups allow you to geek out on the most in-depth topics and not flood the rest of the organization with jargon they dont understand or care about. For example, not everyone will want to know about the latest opportunity to sell brass door knobs in Nepal….or do they (they don’t) . Salesforce Chatter Tip 10: DO use hash tags properly
Just like Twitter, Hash tags in Chatter are an amazing productivity saver. If something warrants being tagged for others to easily find do so. Announcing a new business deal with the hashtag #newbusiness allows for a quick search of all new business deals. However, announcing to the world “going to lunch #nomnomnom #whypeanutbutterandjellyagain” is not of benefit to anyone! Don’t forget, hash tags can also be followed.

Blackberry Playbook Review

I have been using the playbook for 3 weeks now. As promised, here is the review. I bought a 64gb Blackberry Playbook from Maxis at RM 2199. I went for the outright purchase instead of the contract as it will suit me. I was waiting for the playbook since last December, that's when the y first leaked the tablet’s details. I fell in love when they had the preview in States. It was made available somewhere June this year and i have been waiting for us to get it. It was available but, only the US set. the 16gb itself was selling at a whopping 2400! and in case of warranty claim, you will need to send to US and the rest is history. And i have always made it a point to get the original set instead of the AP versions due to some bad experience. The only way to get the original ones is by Maxis. And if i were to go with a contract with maxis i will need to be a Maxis Bis user, if i am not, then i will need to buy both he Playbook and also a Blackberry phone. And also i made a wrong choice by landing a 2 year contract with Digi, i still have got another 10 months to g with them . (yes i chose 24), I did also called Brighstar Malaysia, according to their staff, the Playbook should be available by mid August.

The dimension of the playbook is just nice for me to bring around. It fits nicely in my jeans and three quarter pants. The dual core processor make multitasking so much easy, i often have 5-6 application running, and switching from one app to another without the need of pressing a physical button is just what i needed. The Camera is pretty decent as well, and it records in 1080 HD. One of the best thing i love about the playbook is , it solved 2 of my problems. Problem No1, i needed a laptop/netbook, this is merely for mobility and portability. Problem No2. i needed a home PC, in my living room so that i can stream movies/songs and just casual browsing . Initially i wanted to get the Dell Inspiron Zino HD but now since i have the playbook, i connect it from the micro HDMI port to my Television and connect a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to it wirelessly.

What i love about the playbook

7 inch size, ultra portable and with a decent journal case, it looks more like a Diary / Notebook
Effortless Multitasking
Full fledged PowerPoint/Excel/Word support
Secure Connectivity

Having full flash capability fitting my paws is just simply awesome. i no longer need to copy down a url and then go back home to browse it again. And again i need to stress, multi tasking is simply sweet as no physical button needs to be used. It so easy to prepare a presentation on the go, and then connect it to a wireless projector to share my slides. And the secure connection of Blackberry has been its strongest selling point, not to mention its superior push capabilities versus the market copy cat version, the so called pull capabilities.

What i wish the playbook had

Using the standard browser while in bridge mode
Flash for back camera
USB input
Application Support On Time as US
Non-Bridge productivity apps (e-mail, calendar, etc.)
Magnetic sensor for auto off, like the normal Blackberry Devices.
Group Chat support in BBM

Now i have to be fair here, as much i love the tablet, there are some things i wished that RIM had put into this The Hardware portion such as the flash, cant be fixed but they can still do better with the os/firmware fix , i mean at the software level. I really wish that i could use the normal browser while on bridge mode as my bookmarks are there but sadly i can only use the bridge browser that seems to be another similar version of the standard browser. Also i really wish that we had the apps released as the same time as the US. The apps that i mean are 7digital, the podcast, poynt and the blackberry news

All in all The Playbook is a very powerful tablet that caters both productivity and entertainment. The name Playbook itself brings the meaning of game plan, which RIM linked it to work related activity. With the Android apps support and the news os update which is set to release this coming September, this tablet does outstand the competition. And unlike some reviews called it half baked, i think this is a great tablet to have.

The Redbook Pamphlet was launched on the 16th of Feb 2009. The Redbook contains very crucial information on how to deal when you are stopped or caught by a police officer in a language that is easy to understand.

Do you know what does the colour of a Police ID card means?

Do you know that The Police has no right to do a body search if you are not arrested?

When you are stopped and being questioned, and if you are not under arrest, you may walk away/refuse to follow him back to the Police station or anywhere else, if asked.

Here is something that excited me after a long while in terms of desktop customization. I used to love the mac lookin pc UI / custom UI for desktop way back when i first started being a tech junkie. Now, let me introduce Pokki to you .

So what exactly is Pokki? It’s a framework built on Chromium that allows developers to build basic applications using standard web technologies, but with a few key additions. First, these applications support nice notification tags in the menu bar (similar to iOS’s badge system). They’re also handy by design — click one, and it will pop up in a small window that you can use to access your Facebook wall, Gmail inbox, or whatever other application you’ve installed.

Unlike the resource munching normal customizations, Pokki is amazingly light and hardlt takes up your memory.

To use Pokki, users have to install the basic framework first, but this will come bundled with all Pokki apps — the company expects users will download a Pokki from one of their favorite sites, and then continue to add more using the integrated Pokki app browser. The apps are launching with support for Windows today, with Mac and Linux support coming down the line.

Pokki is far from the first project that’s looking to bridge the gap between web and native applications. You may have heard of Fluid, which does something similar for the Mac. And, to some extent, this is also competing with Google’s Chrome Web Store, which is also in the business of distributing web apps.

But Pokki’s focus on these quick, nimble applications (at least to start with) may give it a leg up. I could definitely see myself using a Pokki app to check in on the daily Groupon deal or Facebook News Feed update without having to fire up a new browser tab. And I’m not the only one: Pokki has tested the apps with “a large social games company” with very encouraging results. This sort of thing seems tailor-made for giving CityVille addicts a way to quickly check in on their towns without having to actually visit Facebook.

Never, ever under estimate the power of social networking, especially when it is Facebook. Oh ya, and also if you are 16, live in Hamburg and your name is Thessa. Thessa sent her Facebook friends an invite to her birthday party, but…. she did not set it to be private- BIG MISTAKE. Within hours the event had 15,000 confirmed guest. And about 1400 freeloader turned out to the party hoping for free booze and hard partying. Thessa also cancelled the event in Facebook upon seeing the massive replies but still the crowd continued to fill her neighbourhood.

A spokesman for the Hamburg police told the Associated Press that, "11 people were temporarily detained, several girls wearing flip-flops cut their feet on broken glass and a garbage can was set on fire at the 16th birthday party in Hamburg on Friday night." The crowd thres bottles, fire crackers and stones to the houses . Despite security measures, with about 80 policemen who were in service until 02.00 a.m t control the crowd!

Samsung's lawyers want access to the iPhone 5 and iPad 3

Here's a big case of "Good luck with that." Samsung's lawyers are demanding to see the iPhone 5 and iPad 3, according to ThisIsMyNext. Samsung says it needs to see Apple's upcoming devices because its iPhone and iPad competitors, the Droid Charge and Galaxy Tab 10.1, will likely be on sale around the same time. Samsung wants to make sure it can spot any possible similarities so it can be ready for any potential legal action from Apple.

Last week a judge granted Apple access to Samsung prototypes of the Galaxy S2, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Infuse 4G and Droid Charge. This will allow Apple to identify elements that could confuse customers into thinking the Samsung devices are the same as Apple's devices. As MacRumors points out, only Apple's lawyers will be able to see the prototype Samsung gear. Similarly, if Samsung were granted access to the iPhone 5 and iPad 3, only the company's lawyers would be able to view them. Still, since it's Samsung that is on the defensive, it's not likely that Samsung will be granted access to Apple's prototypes.

Apple first filed suit against Samsung in April, claiming the Samsung Galaxy line too closely imitated the look and feel of its iOS devices.

The Venue Show’s up in Dell Malaysia’s Online site. No price confirmation yet. And the availability is yet to be confirmed. The spec’s look's pretty impressive with 1 Ghz proc/ 512 mb Ram and 1GB ROM. Also it has a 8 mp camera auto focus flash capable of recording 720p movie, and did i mention it is built with face detection. the 4.1 inches AMOELD screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass, same as the Streak. The design looks similoar to its half brother Venue Pro, only this badboy runs Android Froyo and has no sliding qwerty keyboard. So far it looks pretty decent and the price tag of USD 499 for unlocked set seems pretty reasonable too. Dell Venue gives you full flash content (TAKE THAT YOU FANBOIS) and the display is very crisp and as good a the so called Retina display. The Micro SD supports up to 32GB enabling you store your media contents and documents. I am seriously considering this phone now, when i get one, there will a definite unboxing post .

FDA monitors food products from Taiwan for DEHP

Authorities are now monitoring some food products from Taiwan that may contain a Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), an ingredient that may have potential harmful effects on health.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cited reports that DEHP was illegally added to some food products in Taiwan to improve its emulsification.

"FDA is currently monitoring high-risk products from Taiwan (sports drinks, fruit juices and soft drinks) to ensure that they are safe for customers," FDA head Suzette Lazo said in Advisory 2011-006.

Lazo said DEHP is used widely as a plasticizer in making articles such as medical devices, intravenous bags and tubing, blood bags and infusion tubings and nasogastric tubes.

She said that while low doses of DEHP are "generally safe," high doses or prolonged exposure can have "harmful effects," and exposure should thus be limited.

"Children are especially prone to the harmful effects of high doses of DEHP or to repeated exposure, which can lead to testicular defects, fertility problems and toxicity to kidneys," she said.

Lazo also said Taiwan has informed the Department of Health that the implicated material may have been imported to the Philippines by a company.

"Efforts to trace the local counterpart of this company are currently in progress," she said.

Product recall

Taiwan-based news site Taipei Times reported some 167 food ingredient suppliers face recalls because of toxic contamination in connection with DEHP.

A Taipei Times report quoted Hsu Ming-neng, deputy director-general of the department’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as saying DEHP has been detected in the products of 47 local manufacturers of food and drinks that unknowingly used the tainted ingredient, all of which have to be recalled.

Hsu urged other manufacturers to send their products for tests to prove that they are free of the harmful chemical.

Taiwan health officials confirmed on Monday that DEHP had been found in an emulsifier that is commonly used in fruit jelly, yogurt mix powder, juices and other drinks.

According to the Taipei Times report, investigations showed the tainted emulsifier products were either produced by Yu Sheng Chemical Co. or came from intermediaries supplied by the company.

Hsu said the FDA should be able to track most of the contaminated items within the next couple of days, when the department will again write to the International Food Safety Authorities Network (INFOSAN) under the WHO to report the details.

Hsu said he told INFOSAN officials of the incident while attending the World Health Assembly in Geneva earlier this week. The department later also wrote to INFOSAN via e-mail to provide further information, but the group has not yet responded, he said.

Food ingredient exporter Poss-mei Corp. said it has notified its clients in more than 20 countries to stop selling its concentrated juice products and await test results.

Possmei said it will further inform its clients if the products are safe as soon as the results are available.

Some juice products produced by Possmei were on the DEHP -contamination-related recall list announced by the New Taipei City’s Health Bureau on Wednesday, the report said.

The company also supplies bubble milk tea ingredients. Among its most well-known overseas clients is Bubbleology tea house in London, which has also expressed concern over the DEHP contamination in Taiwan.

Possmei, however, said that the emulsifier is usually not added when making tapioca balls — a main ingredient of bubble milk tea — making contamination unlikely.

Late last month i joined my fellow automobile enthusiast for a getaway to Cherating. As far as i can remember this is the 4th consecutive year that we have been organizing the annual roadtrip. This year it was my turn to organize it, but i got a little busy and if not all, most of the arrangements was taken care by Ever.I just helped her a little in the convoy. Other than that, the credit for this great trip goes to Ever.

And the agenda looked like.

I had a great time during the 3 days trip, it was a fun and very relaxing trip. But off course sharing is caring, so the next round if you guys plan to get to Cherating, here is all the details that you need to know about getting around. And here is a few tips.

1. For Fireflies watching/snorkelling/ kayaking and mangrove river trip you may contact Hafiz 017-9789256. He is a great guide, he will answr all your doubts and at th same time he will tell you some stories along the way.

2. Food in Cherating is not cheap nor great, never – ever got to the Matahari Restaurant or the one opposite it. Payung Cafe seem’s a little decent ( the rasta concept restaurant )

3. Sungai lembing is a must to visit, but its 1 hr drive from kuantan town and 45 mins trekking to the waterfall. Sungai lembing used to be a tin mining town. Rainbow Waterfall is part of Sg Lembing attraction (do not miss the suspension bridge action). The tiny water droplets from this high waterfall create a rainbow effect when the sunrise rays hits it, hence the Rainbow waterfall. This phenomenon was at its best in the early morning, preferable around 8.00am.This mean u have to start your journey at 6.30 a.m. Besides that you could also visit the Sg Lembing museum. t houses mining tools and equipment's, mineral samples that were mined in the area, mining attires and dioramas. You could also head to the Crystal Museum to take a look at some unpolished raw crystal. For the trip you may call Four Light +6019 922 6818.,

Why Playbook?

Just one day before the official launch in the US , we had our own preview here in Malaysia for the much anticipated Blackberry Playbook.Sadly only a few were invited to this event and not much was disclosed, no news on the availabilty or the pricing. I am waiting very eagerly for the official launch of the playbook. I am very tempted with this tablet . It looks very snappy, stylish and practical at the same time.

Here is why i think the Playbook will be a better choice than other tablets in the market.

- Rim created this for mobile professional,PlayBook, with a 7” screen, is ultra-portable and it's also zippy with a 1GHz dual core processor and 1GB of RAM. For many who have been demanding a tablet because it is the latest new thing, PlayBook should scratch that itch.

- Secure connection for emails and calendar are big enterprise advantages. Right now, accessing native email and calendar on PlayBook involves “bridging” it to a mobile device’s mail and calendar on the PlayBook. If you do not want to use the bridge connection you may syc them to yahoo or gmail calender. may has been complaining about this but i feels its all for the sake of security.

- PlayBook already runs Flash. This means that whole segment of the Web is easily accessed by PlayBook. Overall the PlayBook Web browsing experience is hands down faster and better than most tablets for now. The touch screen provides the best multi-tasking tools of any tablet which also still struggles with multi-tasking, but PlayBook, using RIM’s proprietary QNX operating system, offers easy multi-tasking.

- Secure access to Android apps. RIM stared the comparative lack of BlackBerry apps in the face (there are around 3000 compared to hundreds of thousands that run on iPad) and it’s come up with a clever solution. PlayBook will run at least some Android apps (there are over 100,00) but to get on PlayBook they have to be downloaded via the BlackBerry App World. 8. Plug in an HDMI cable and the PlayBook can be used to deliver PowerPoint shows to a projector. iPad cannot do this.

-You see, RIM despite being the manufacturer of the safest mode of mobile communication is also very flexible, its adopts easily to other platforms. word/powerpoint and even android apps can be used in the Platbook, a powerpoint presentation directly from the playbook via the HDMI out.

But i also dont see the Playbook sales to be Sku High unless the price is super affordable or if there is a promo. The reason being is because you will need a blackberry mobile device to fully utilize the function, there is no 3g version offered, only wifi, so in order to surf, you will need to bridge or "borrow the connection'' from your mobile.

As for me, this is definitely in my wishlist, i would love to have one. i dont like to carry a laptop with me and prefer something more portable, and i have always been confortable with my Blackberry, eventhough my bold 2 only has 256 RAM, it has serverd me well. So i do look up to Blackberry products.

Unboxing The Dell T1600 Fixed Workstation

Finally i got the package and the wait is over. For years i have been wanting a desktop, a proper, functioning,non lagging and a Genuine desktop …i ended up with a Workstation instead.

My last desktop was a Dell Optiplex 755, runs on Win XP Home , 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160 HDD and 1MB cache processor with no graphic card. and i stopped using it due to some driver issue’s. I then moved to a laptop, an Inspiron 1420. It had the setting as follows – C2D T5550 1.83 Ghz, 3GB RAM , 150Gb HDD and runs the Vista Home Premium. t was my last system which i held on for about 3 years. even though it was just an Inspiron it was a decent machine . I had some issue’s with the heat sink and i got it fixed by Dell Engineers, luckily it was under warranty by Dell. ( The great customer service and after sales service is why i chose Dell over other brands.) Since then till now i have been a loyal Dell supporter. Little did i know i will end up working for this great company

I have been using the system for couple of weeks now. And I'm very satisfied with the system. The processing power of the CPU simply amazes me. When i was setting up the PC transferring music from my portable HDD was a blaze! compared to my previous systems. The graphic is simply great , i have been using it for both gaming and photo editing, and never once i had to wait for photo rendering or processing. I am having a great time playing StarCraft 2 and FIFA Online 2 with no lags at all. I also use Lightroom 3 and VDj pro 7 quite extensively and again there is no delay in importing/exporting files and it also comes with an integrated HD audio .

My persona advise is make sure you pair them with decent monitors . The ultasharp series monitor by Dell are a great companion for this sweet machine, I thinks this is a great machine even for home users, it promises a flawless 2D graphic processing and mid range 3D graphic. 3 Years Old Toddler Weighs 57KG

Desperate parents of a 57 kg three-year-old have told how they can't make the giant toddler diet because they are scared of him.

Lu Hao, from China, is dangerously overweight, and at 57 kg is five times as heavy as other boys his age.

He is getting so big his family are frightened of him and have given up trying to stop the youngster from gorging on huge plates of ribs and rice.

His parents claim he throws vicious tantrums if he doesn't get third or fourth helpings of dinner.

And mum Chen Huan from Guangdong Province, admits, "We have to let him be as if we don't feed him he will cry nonstop."

She said she has tried to cut down his meals in the past, but despite her best efforts he still managed to put on a whopping 9.52 kg in the last year alone.

He has already been banned from nursery over fears his size might be a danger to other children, and usually plays alone at home.

But moving around is becoming tougher and tougher for the toddler, whose weight means he gets out of breath easily.

Ironically when Lu Hao was born he was underweight, at 2.58 kg, but he started piling on the pounds at three months old, and hasn't stopped since.

Dad Lu Yuncheng, who struggles to pick him up, said, "His appetite is so good that for a meal he can eat three big bowls of rice." Last year Lu Hao's worried parents took him to see specialists at the Guangdong Children's Hospital.

Doctors there said they think it is possible his weight gain could be down to a hormone disorder.

Dr Lu Hong said, "He is not just overweight but very tall as well so we may be able to treat him if it really is hormonal. But he cannot remain like this or his heart will never stand the strain.
