Lucas MacFadden (born October 4, 1972),[1] better known as Cut Chemist, is an American DJ and record producer. He is a former member of the funk Latin band Ozomatli, and of hip hop group Jurassic 5. He has collaborated with fellow turntablist DJ Shadow on a number of projects.

Cut Chemist became known through the Los Angeles-based rap group Unity Committee, and debuted on vinyl on the B-side of Unity Committee's 1993 single, "Unified Rebelution". The track, "Lesson 4: The Radio" was an ovation of Double Dee and Steinski's "Lessons 1-3."

Preceding the vinyl release, Unity Committee formed Jurassic 5, along with another group, Rebels of Rhythm. Cut Chemist contributed avidly to the group, adding "Lesson 6: The Lecture" to Jurassic 5's eponymous EP, and co-producing the entirety of the record. Between then and other releases, he explored remixing alongside DJ Shadow and Liquid Liquid, and performed doing outside work (sampling and scratching for Less Than Jake, and appearing with Ozomatli). From late 1996 to early 1997, Cut Chemist recorded his album debut, Live at Future Primitive Sound Session, with Shortkut of Invisibl Skratch Piklz.

The Soft Sell by Cut Chemist

Cut Chemist's first full-length solo album, The Audience's Listening, was released on July 11, 2006.[3] The album includes the pre-released song "The Garden", which features a bossa nova style, vocals from Astrud Gilberto's Brazilian song "Berimbau", and berimbau instrumentals.
The song "The Audience Is Listening Theme Song" from The Audience's Listening has been featured in a 2G Apple iPod nano advertisement.
More recently, Cut Chemist has opened for Shakira in 2007 on the European leg of her Oral Fixation Tour, and at the press conference held by car-maker SEAT to promote their sponsorship of the shows.
Cut Chemist made an appearance in the 2007 comedy Juno, playing a high school chemistry teacher, playing on his "chemist" stage-name. His logo, an opened pair of scissors over a beaker, is drawn on the whiteboard behind him in the movie.
Cut Chemist joined DJ Shadow on a world wide tour to support their new mix The Hard Sell beginning in early 2008. Kid Koala opened for them. Dates included Dallas, New York, San Francisco, Melbourne, Toronto, Vancouver, London, Hamburg and Paris among others.
In October 2008, Cut Chemist's video for the song "What's the Altitude" featuring Hymnal was removed for violating a WMG copyright.[4]
Cut Chemist is featured in the award-winning documentary This is the Life, chronicling the music movement which was birthed at The Good Life Cafe in South Central Los Angeles. The Good Life is the open-mic workshop where he first performed with Unity Committee in the early 1990s and launched Jurassic 5.
Most recently, Cut Chemist was featured in the film Up In The Air under his name Cut Chemist as the conference DJ who introduces Young MC.

Duncan Beiny (born in London, United Kingdom), better known as DJ Yoda, is a hip hop turntablist who uses samples to create a cartoony musical style.
From 1995 to 1998, he studied English and American literature at the University of Warwick. During this period, he began performing at Mojo, a popular Warwick hip hop and soul night at the student's union until he graduated. After he left university, he began releasing underground demo mix-tapes to small music shops. Through the popularity of these tapes, Antidote Records asked him to create an official mixtape, from which How to Cut & Paste Mix Tape Vol.1 was released.

He has won a DMC DJ of the Year award in the Scratch DJ category (2001) and was one of six nominees for best UK hip-hop DJ in the UK Hip-Hop Awards.[citation needed] He has also been nominated by Q magazine as one of the "Ten DJs To See Before You Die", has released a series of mix-tapes, and has toured the globe with Goldie and the Scratch Perverts. He is currently the hip-hop correspondent for IDJ magazines, and also writes the DJ page for Hip Hop Connection magazine. He has also been on the judging panel for the DMC DJ World Finals for the last three years.
Yoda released his debut album of original material, entitled The Amazing Adventures of DJ Yoda, on 2 October 2006 on Antidote Records. The album features guest vocalists, including Biz Markie, Sway, Ugly Duckling and MC Paul Barman. In addition to releasing his own material, he has also performed scratches on Dangermouse and Jemini's Ghetto Pop Life.
He has been a regular guest on BBC Radio 1 appearing alongside Steve Lamacq and Annie Mac. In 2009, he was nominated for a Sony Radio Academy Award.

Quannum Projects (aka Quannum MCs) is a hip hop collective based in the San Francisco Bay Area. It has been active since 1992, when it was formed at UC Davis under the moniker Solesides Records. It is also the name of the independent record label that releases their records, as well as those of a number of other artists. The label continues to be 100% independently owned and operated.

DJ Eclipse, renowned indie Hip Hop tastemaker, first gained national notoriety while djing for 3rd Bass front man MC Serch in the early 90's. His reputation proceeded to grow when given the opportunity to fill in for Stretch Armstrong on his weekly 89.9 radio show on WKCR (and later on Stretch's Hot 97 show) and then also for Mayhem on 89.1 WNYU whenever the two DJ's were unavailable. He joined Wild Pitch Records in 1994 and became the National Director of Retail Promotion until their closing. Then in '95, DJ Jab, the owner of a small basement record store called Fat Beats, brought Eclipse in to help out on weekends. It wasn't long before Fat Beats became a worldwide company with Eclipse overseeing all of their retail operations.

As a producer, some of Eclipse's notable credits include remixes for O.C. ("Time's Up" & "Born 2 Live"), Nas, N-Tyce and The Modern Jazz Quartet ("Rebop-The Savoy Remixes"). He's also released a DJ break 12" for AV8 Records and a couple others for Nervous Records under the moniker Brooklyn Slumlordz (along with DJ Riz & DJ Skribble). Aside from production, you can also find Eclipse's credits on numerous records for lending his scratch techniques to choruses.

Now in 2009, with Non Phixion in the past, Eclipse can be found operating Uncle Howie Records with former NP front man ILL BILL. In addition, Eclipse manages the new collective which Bill is a part of known as La Coka Nostra also consisting of Everlast, Danny Boy, DJ Lethal & Slaine. E's dedication for playing and breaking real rap records on the air landed him a "fill in" slot on DJ Premier's "Live From HeadQCourterz" Sirius XM radio show whenever Preem's on tour. The two have also started a monthly party entitled "Like They Used To Say" which goes down every 3rd Monday of the month at APT in New York City. All this has brought Eclipse to gain his own show on Sirius XM called "Rap Is Outta Control" which airs every Sunday night on the Hip Hop Nation channel. And Fat Beats, of course, still plays a big role in Eclipse's day to day as he can usually be found at the NY store location at 406 6th Avenue above the bagel shop.

DJ Craze (November 19, 1977-), born Aristh Delgado, is a Nicaraguan American DJ who plays hip hop, Miami bass, breaks, Dubstep, drum n bass, and practices turntablism. He is the only solo DJ in history to claim the World DMC Champion trophy 3 times consecutively.

"I won the DMC's when I was 20. I joined the Regionals, won that, Nationals, won that, and then won the Worlds. And I took it from A-Trak that's right! But he was only like 15 when I beat him. I was still scared. Then in that year, in '98 when I beat A-Trak in the [DMC] Worlds, I didn't wanna battle no more and I thought he'd be the icing on the cake, so instead we formed the Allies and we kicked everybody's butt. (laughs) Except the [Scratch] Perverts, they beat us once in the US, but then we came over here to London and we kicked their butt. So hey, payback's a bitch, Tony!"

On top of his untouchable turntablist skills and scratch champion showmanship, the world has also recognised that Craze is a second to none club DJ he has toured the globe over, from Jamaica to Australia to Japan to Iceland to France to the country he was born, Nicaragua. All DJing aside, Craze is also a world- renowned producer, releasing wildly successful drum'n'bass records with labels such as Cartel Recordings, Breakbeat Kaos, and C.I.A and other hip hop inspired productions with the likes of DMC Records, Ninja Tune Records, OM Records and K7 Records. It's the respect from both DJs and audiences alike that has paved Craze's seamless move between hip hop and turntablism to drum'n'bass both serious subzero clique/cult scenes the globe over demanding much of any artist trying to peddle their wares worldwide; to what now sounds like club-style Miami bass, formed with the technical love of hip hop with clean cuts and ridiculously dextrous scratching, but a mix up of straight up rap, ghettotech, raw booty house, old-school electro, Baltimore/Miami bass crossover and sweaty lo-end dancefloor music, making it all but impossible to keep still. This is Craze the man who arguably defined his hometown Miami turntablism scene, only to return now to reinvent this take on the Miami sound; a neo-genre of his own special blend of every which way club codes from the ghosts of discos past, present and future.
