I was vacationing in Boracay when the local MAC launched the Archie's Girls collection. Bummer right? I forgot. Though I’m a big fan of Archie comics (I still have some for bathroom reading..lol), I just wanted one product..Betty Bright. Wanted a lot. And when I got back in Manila, I called every MAC store but unfortunately, I was too late..its already out of stock. I even tried the mac chat online if they can provide me one, but still, no. Local sellers if not out of stock are selling it 2x the price! Way to high for a lippie but I could have gave in a few days as I'm desperate. But good thing someone replied to my swap message in makeupalley..and tadah!! Wheeeeh! I got one. I've never wanted a lipstick so badly. And hey it didn’t disappoint!

BRIGHT Milky light coral and pink

It reminds me of mac viva glam Nicki (coz its BRIGHT!), only it's softer/muted and less pink.

MAC lipstick in Betty Bright is really vivid in person. More of "what you see is what you get" shade. . The lippies I think closest to this shade are mac everhip and mac viva glam nicki. everhip more softer with less pink and viva glam nicki same intensity but with no hints of peach/coral. This will definitely not be an mlbb/ylbb/natural/day shade but if you're someone who loves wearing loud colors, this is it. It is a nice to have product but not something wearable everyday.

So after all the efforts, was it worth it? yes. This for me is something too pretty to pass up.

My take:

01 - Natural Beige
This was my first okuma concealer that unfortunately got kept in the drawer for a long time. I used to be a shade lighter and this was dark on my face/under eyes so I got shade 02 yellow beige. Upon trying it again on my summer skin, it blended well. For under eyes though, the color just blended on my skin that didn’t do anything. I need something lighter.

02 - Yellow Beige
I got this as I’m fond of yellow concealers and shade 01 natural beige was dark on me. This is a pale yellow shade perfect for brightening the under eye area. I use this most of the time but its wee bit light.

03 - Orange Beige

03 Orange Beige is what I call my peach concealer. It’s for hiding the bluish tone of dark circles. Yes it does hide dark circles but I still prefer the brightened appearance ala kim k look! But if I’m going to fake a no make up look. This would be my concealer.

The Good:

-    Medium to heavy coverage - covers well!
-    Can cover other skin imperfections
-    Hygienic and handy container – screw top cap and plastic tube
-    Only takes a small amount to cover an area
-    Stays put (Longer than usual concealers)

- Not drying

- With beauty serums to take care of delicate skin concerns

The Bad:

-    A little sticky that needs a dust of powder on top (reason I think why it stays longer)
-    Needs to be blended well as its heavy
-    Availability in the market – this is available only in Beauty Bar outlets (locally)

On the Fence:

- Price is at 895php. A little pricey compared to other concealers. But for the quality and quantity (as you need only a few amount), this is inexpensive compared to the equivalent products on the market.
- Color selection is okay for my type. I’m not sure if this would work for darker shade gals. I wish they have more yellow shades!

02 and 03 are mainstays of my concealer cycle. I use them depending on if I want brightening or just a no makeup look with covered dark circles. I wish though they'll have a medium yellow shade..02 is a wee bit light thats noticeable when I turn red! lol. But a keeper and something to try if you still haven't found a good concealer. This is also great for covering skin imperfections.

I find this airy/light upon application -- more like applying a mousse foundation but dries quickly with no streaking and powdery feel. But don't think its not a performer, it covers well without being heavy on the skin. Sounds perfect for me...but the real test is if within the middle of the day, it will not give me grayish/darker skin. (My problem with BB creams..doesn't look good on me after few hours of use) Lets see...if this works. I'm gonna get myself a full size version. Whieeh!!!

Get rid of pimples overnight! Celeteque Acne Solutions Spot Corrector Gel

I freak out whenever a small bump/zit appear on my face and don’t stop fretting until the scar is gone. But late last year, I wasn’t able to stop myself breaking out. I don’t know but acne keeps appearing on my chin area that left marks. Hormones or stress..I guess. My ‘Go to’ products seem to stopped working and well, I let it get to where I am now. Chin with scars. Sad. I guess it was stroke of luck when I got introduced to celeteque acne solutions right when a pimple started to appear on my face again.

this will leave a mark if not healed fast...not again.. :(

A non foaming cleanser that removes impurities well. Gentle on the skin and I really love that it feels light with no stinging sensation even though its for acne prone. Not drying at all. I love this more than cetaphil and obagi cleanser.

Celeteque Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel

I'm not sure how this one works but the good thing is it didn't irritate my skin in anyway. I've been using this as my day moisturizer (sorry newb...not sure if this is for night use) as it feels light and not oily or sticky at all. Its as if I didnt put anything on my face. Quite a good base actually.

Celeteque Back Acne Spray

I know a lot of people suffers from back acne and this product sounds promising. I haven't used it though coz I don't have back acne problems (hihi) but will be giving this to someone for a before and after review.

I've always find Celeteque a superior skincare line. Whenever I hear its name, I think of 'Safe/For Sensitive Skin'. Good thing I was introduced to this as I would have not known they already have different lines. I think I'll try more Celeteque products. Now that I know I have a product to get rid of pimples. I need something for fading my marks..Can you suggest any??

Scary that you need to examine the product well if you want to be sure your product is authentic. The fake ud naked 1 is actually not that bad, I actually like the matte shades. The fake doesn't have the glittery colors, its either matte or just frosted. It's pretty nevertheless, but then again, its still fake..we don't know what its made of.

Out of the 13 lip colors, I got 6. The other shades are dark from what I normally wear. Just maybe if my itch strike, I'll get 'em all.

bright magenta shade. bright pink - semi dark effect on my lips but wearable even for day look. this became a permanent fixture on my makeup kit. I'd suggest this to be the first pick when buying a soft matte lip cream.

milky baby pink shade..not nude! this may look better on cool complexion gals. I need to layer this to get an even color instead of swiping once. I need to moisturize my lips a lot if I want to wear this as it enhances lines and flakes. I'll try to make this work but on my warm colored skin, its just a no.

a bright coral shade..not nude! I first thought it's a nude peach coral color from browsing google images but no. its still pretty though..a bright coral shade. (please refer to the hand swatches pic to get an idea of the actual color)

nude pinky peach shade. again another MLBB shade. this on me is like istanbul but with hints of peach/brown. this is a really pretty nude shade that just gives the right amount of color..doesn't give a sick looking effect. lol.

The soft matte lip creams are one of my fave nyx products. They are really a treat to apply -- creamy/buttery upon application. They are not as opaque as lipstick products, but that's what's good about them...more wearable and with just layering will give the wanted coverage. The darker shades are more pigmented. I wouldn't suggest the lighter colors (tokyo,etc) for pigmented lips. Again lips should be moisturized if you want to wear the lighter shades. Though some shades may accentuate lines and flaking, the colors are really pretty that the minor flaws are insignificant.

Downside? Dry lips - a big NO NO! Lazy ol' me keeps forgetting the lip balm (on a regular basis) so after wearing soft matte almost everyday, I find it dry on the lips - look and wear (Still pretty though!). But keep in mind matte lippies are really like that.

I really suggest to try this product but if matte is a problem, nyx xtreme lip creme is a good option though they have limited shades. I'll be posting about it soon. :)

For the nth and millionth time.. sorry for the hiatus. It was a chaotic 2012 for me and decided to focus first on my personal and work life. It’s not only my blog that got affected but also my makeup engagements, room construction, social networking life, buying makeup stuffs, commitments, etc. Now that everything is coming to an order, slowly I'll get back to where i left off..slowly. So before I surprise you guys with a sudden post on makeup and the likes after a long pause as if nothing happened, I’m just going to give a small update of what’s happening with me.

my somewhat organized makeup space!!

Construction of my new room is complete..around 90%ish. But I’m happy..wider space and good lighting..now I know how it feels waking up with sunlight shining through my window. lol. Plus no more confusing myself on where my makeup stuffs are and getting lazy as everything are organized now. And if it gets makeup messy..at least its just in one area!! Room before was very small that I have to pack neatly my stuffs (or organized them really well..piling, stacking, etc)..I'm really not good with organization..thus things cluttered everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE!

New blog layout. It's just a bit more put together than my old blog template. The old template was made hastily so some details were missing. I also kinda got bored with the colors.

As you all know I’m fickle when it comes to hair. But I guess it’s just a cycle for me…so from my last post, it’s brown with highlights. So after.. it became black green, black blue, dark brown (it stayed awhile as I suffered from hairfall) and then back to brown with highlights. Not much of an update. **Now I'm thinking of going chocolate brown! or red..hehe

I find it powdery but its a grinding blush so I think its ok. Lacks pigmentation so it needs to be layered to get the desired coverage--helps not to get a clownish look -- and maybe the reason why its an hd blush..it looks good in pics! For the $15 price tag, I think its just a wee bit expensive to my liking but comparing it with the same design/product of smashbox, its cheaper. I prefer pressed blushes than this, its messy..I'm a messy girl--always on a rush..so it will just add up more to it. haha.

with SPF 15. Warm Almond 45 is the 2nd lightest shade out of the 7 available. Don't worry the darkest shade is really for dark skinned gals. :)

Upon seeing in the label the word “Ageless”, I quickly thought it was something for my mom. I was scared of using anti-aging products as some ingredients are not suited for my oily skin. I decided that I’ll give her the foundation after trying it once. I changed my mind. After applying it on my face, I saw how great my skin looks already. My face feels smooth and lines/pores/imperfections soften a bit like it was lightly photoshopped. It looks so natural also that I don’t need to set it with a powder, its better on its own. Is Clarisonic just a hype or the real thing? I’m really curious to know so I ordered one from skincarerx. I was supposed to order from skincarestore as they have one in fuchsia (pink gal) and on sale but they don’t ship to my country and not allowed to ship to other shipping addresses. I ordered from the very reliable skincarerx a clarisonic mia in turquoise (and on sale too) plus the deep pore cleansing brush head, I heard it’s nice! Although Skincarerx doesn’t allow shipping to the Philippines, it allows shipping to other addresses that I was able to use the services of Johnny Air. Johnny air offers a shop online service for orders from US going to our country. More expensive than forex/balikbayan box but it takes faster to arrive.

Overall I was happy with my purchase.

But how do I find the product?

I'm still on the testing stage so I can't say its a keeper for me. For 2 weeks, I used the clarisonic twice a day (day and night). Though my face became soft and smooth, some areas became more sensitive and red. The upper area of my right cheek became so sensitive that it stings every time I wash my face (even the mildest cleanser). I stopped for a few days but continued my testing with just once a day use. So far, I haven't seen any drastic changes just the soft squeaky clean face. Sometimes, I still get sensitive on the upper area of my right cheeks, but I can't ignore the fact that it really cleans the skin well and removes all traces of makeup and dirt. I'll give this a few weeks more.. hope it does work..or its off to the sale bin!

The only perfumes I know before from Benetton are Hot & Cold. I remember the unique-shaped red/blue cap that everytime I see one, I get the itch to rotate the screwy looking thingy even if it doesn’t work that way, lol. From a young me having a blurry memory of my cousin getting one for a gift and listening to older schoolmates talk among themselves that they prefer the blue (for guys) one over the red, to now- upon telling people I’m going to a fragrance event by Benetton, they’ll say : “hot & cold ba yan?”; Hot & Cold are still known and popular today. And after almost 15 years of the iconic status of hot and cold, new participants to the cult line are launched: The modern and sophisticated Hot Gold and Cold Silver. So now, you can’t just say Hot & Cold anymore, it’s going to be “Hot Red or Hot Gold” and “Cold Blue or Cold Silver”. Will be confusing, I tell yah!

I stand corrected as Benetton has a lot of fragrance lines (a lot lot). United Colors of Benetton also launched new scents for the Colori Line, Benetton Black(Bianco) and Benetton White(Nero). For additional knowledge, Colori Line started with four colors: Red(Rosso), Yellow(Giallo), Green(Verde) and Blue(Blu) which are inspired by the colorful world of Benetton. This line is targeted for the young-ish crowd (15-25yrs old) as it’s like the fun, fresh and trendy scents to use for different moods. As I’ve said I only know Hot & Cold before as the fragrances of Benetton and this to me is new but it seems I’m for this line as it’s more me *ahem*. Lol.

Out of all the nyx lipsticks, I seem to favor the matte line. And this second possession, didn't disappoint. Nyx matte in pure red is a creamy matte lipstick with great pigmentation. The color you see on the tube is the color you'll get when applied on..very OPAQUE. Though its matte in general, it's very easy to apply (think of mac ruby woo but glides smoothly). Of course, it's still red so you still have to be careful upon application. Red can be messy.

This is a bright blue based lipstick with a kick of orange. Perfect for warm skin toned gals.

I really enjoy applying nyx matte lippies and see how it goes so opaque on my lips..I'm just amazed!! Throw your round lipsticks and get yourself from the matte line..it is way better. LOL. :)

The eyeshadow itself is about 2x the size of a mac eyeshadow, so this will really last a long time. I find this a professional palette as its really really good. Great pigmentation, not powdery, doesn't crack, blends easily..and much more. For 1800php (around $40) this is a great value for the money.

I know there are a lot of fake mac products sold everywhere with different containers, labels, palettes and limited editions that are never heard of. Those are honestly bearable coz when you see the products, they look really fake, sold cheap or just labelled class A or something.

What disgusts me is when a product looks really authentic and claimed 100% authentic by a seller with great feedbacks is in fact fake.

FAKE MAC MSF NATURAL IN LIGHT:

I bought this online from a reputable seller. Funny thing, I searched google first to see if there are fake mac msf natural prods but I didn't see anything. I decided to get it coz the price is 1450php (around $30) which is the normal price in other countries and 300php ($6.50) cheaper than buying from a mac local store. I never thought someone will sell a fake for almost the same price as the original one.

When I opened the container, I got a whiff of a distinct smell which is not what I remember of mac. Then I saw the powder itself having a patchy shade/texture and has minimal shimmers, quickly I got my old empty pan of mac msf natural in light to compare. Examining the empty container, I texted the seller to ask if its fake. I'm not going to use the product if still hesitant of its authenticity right? But I was assured by the seller that its original as it was bought from US and that a lot of makeup artists already bought this product from her. Because of this, I tried the product on my face and that’s when I was convinced it’s really fake. I actually find it good but it didn’t give me the effect I love when using mac msf natural. I won't risk my face and thus, I got a brand new one from a mac retail store. (msf is HG for me, cannot live without!)

ORIGINAL/AUTHENTIC MAC MSF NATURAL IN LIGHT:

And yup, conclusion.. There is a fake mac msf natural circulating that looks authentic. If you're not a mac user/addict, there is no way to know.

Salon Hair Color: L'oreal Essensity Light Ash Brown

I've been getting my hair done every 3mos (or less) at David's Salon Kapitolyo Branch for a year now. They know my hair well and get exactly the color I want.

I think its just 2 months, I decided to get my hair colored again.

Old color was ash brown. I didn't want to bleach my hair to get the exact color ash brown as its DAMAGED already so the color looks reddish as my previous color was red.

I wasn't able to take a pic and got one the morning after. Went back to get highlights as it was already late when I had it colored.

colored to l'oreal essensity ash brown again to cover the fading. no bleaching again but its all ok. I'm getting my hair red again..hopefully soon. If I learn how to maintain it.

They only had a few hours to get all the other things done cuz I have work.

thin streaks of highlights. not too much for me as I'm not really a fan of highlights, just needed it for my hair woes.

They did a good job with the highlights, its growing on me but I still love my plain colored hair, especially red.

I just want to share a pic of my previous previous hair color (TOTALLY LOVE!) but it fades big time..

RED! my fave color up to now but I find it hard to maintain. Bleeds every shower.

Anybody knows how to keep red hair to last longer? Once I know, I'll go back to this color..but for now, experiment. LOL!

How do I find the product?

I still can't believe a product this good is a drugstore find. I got the oiliest lids I know that even fluidline and bobbi brown cant last without smudging on the lower part. But this product, doesn't seem to budge. Even in crying conditions *lalalala...SWEAR! No raccoon eyes! Its really creamy and easy to apply . The only gripe I have is with the purple liner that applying in one stroke will not give a solid color line. Needs another stroke to cover some areas. And I forgot to mention, my mom got me this. I didn't get this product sooner as I read reviews that this dries easily. Yes, I have patience when buying makeup I see on stores. I make it a point to read online reviews first no matter what. So since its just a gift, I have no choice. A positive thing actually. But lets wait and see on how long before it dries up. I haven't finished a gel liner since I started using one cuz mine always dries up before it reaches the end. :( so lets see with this brand.
