Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!! Not much of a productive year for me (lazya**) but thankful for the plentiful blessings. Hope you guys had a good year and will be having a great 2012! Yey.

Though I’m excited to know what 2012 holds for me, I’m not happy for the fact I’m getting older. Hearing the word “Age” will make me have a flash of my future wrinkly self. Ick. It is said that 20’s and above should be considering anti-aging products as it will prevent signs of aging to develop. So I thought as early as now, I should be including anti-aging products to my regimen. Since I’m already contented with my morning routine, I’ll be adding anti-aging at night, but with my stroke of bad luck on Night Creams, I’m still pondering heavily. One option of mine is from the PREVAGE line of Elizabeth Arden.

I’m particularly interested with their eye serum because according to their brand manager, a lot of customers repeat their purchase of the product. My main problem is my eye area and if I’m not going to find any product effective..hello dr.surgery!! :P

Hello guys! :) I'm feeling a little giddy today so decided something vibrant for my eyes. Being a neutral shadow gal, tinkering with other colors scare me so its still something safe and not bold combination of colors.

facial masks newbie

I got persuaded on facial masks by reading beauty blogs raving on my beauty diary, silk whitia, etc. I quickly put on cart some items at SASA online and it totaled $95 for facial masks only (around 6-7 boxes with 5-10 masks each box)..whoah. Then it hit me, I'm not a sheet mask user..why spend a lot..I'm just gonna try..I don't even know if I'll like the effect on me! So yes decided to leave my online cart behind and just buy locally first as its way too much for someone who's got no idea about sheet/gel mask. Though I heard its better than other types of mask.

For a person just trying first on sheet masks, 13 pcs sure is a lot..I think?!? (oopsie..one gel mask) hehe..its to compare.:P But hey, its still cheaper $11-12 than the supposed to be $95.

With 500php sm gift certificate to spend, I headed to watsons and find me some facial masks. This is the lot I got myself. Watsons sure is the place to go to as they offer a lot of choices so just imagine how long it took me to settle on these.

Then I remembered I still have some aztec clay + apple cider vinegar. Last time I used this product was 2-3 years ago..not sure lol.

I got this before after reading its good for oily skin. Just a one time thing for me before, maybe I didn't see any WOWing effect..made me lazy to continue on..I guess. Will be using again as it was stupid for me before to judge the product with just a one time use.

Ugly sad face+peace sign..doesn't really look good together..haha.

Told you I haven't used this product recently, I don't know how to put evenly and how thick it should be.. :)
Anyhoo, I'll try each and see if I'll be liking the effects of sheet mask. And if I enjoyed them, I'll get myself the fave ones..My beauty diary and Silk Whitia. Yay! :0 I'm still not sure of the importance of mask though. Hopefully, by trying, I'll know. Lets see if this will be a regular thing for me or just a phase. :)

Though Covergirl Philippines released their Lip Perfection line months ago and me being late mentioning it, doesn’t mean that I don’t love the line. In fact, I neglected mac for a month or two because of their lipstick. That's how much I like it and willing to put myself to test it. Lol.

Get amazingly soft, smooth, beautiful lips in just 7 days with COVERGIRL Lip Perfection Bullet Lipstick.

And it’s true. Even going beyond the limit proves it effectivity. For the challenge, I made sure not to put balms or other lip products..just the lip perfection lipstick. And yes, I even made it my night lip conditioner. After a few days, my lips still has the same color (mentality that lipstick makes lips dark) and didn’t flake at all. My problem with lippies is that I can’t retouch in the middle of the day as my lips become flaky and putting a layer on top of it will just increase and magnify the flakiness. Ick. So yes I was able to retouch a number of times within a day without any or just little signs of flakiness during the first few days (very very minimal). Though I felt that it didn’t make my lips more soft and smooth during the challenge and it just felt my normal “balmed” lips, come on, it’s still lipstick..applying lipstick without negative effects (dryness,flakiness,creasing,etc.) is a good thing. It exceeded my expectations as it worked far better than other lipsticks and has the same effect of the basic lip balms.

The problems I have with the lip perfection lipstick are the availability and finish. Not all the colors are available in the Philippines and some quickly gets out of stock. Like temptress which after a few months of waiting is still not available. Am I just unlucky to not always be at the right place and time? ...geesh. If you’re like me who gets uneasy til I get the makeup item I want, then it’s troublesome, lol. The colour payoff is not bad as it is a what you see is what you get product but most of it has frost finish that I don’t find suiting for my face. I just don’t like duo chromes on lippies. I have big lips and uneven features that it’s not fitting. :P But that’s all..if you already found a colour the suits you, then it’s a keeper.

Do I recommend it?
A Big YES, as long as you find a shade that goes well with you..you are very lucky. The Mattes are better in my preference.

Before Using the Product..

As active as I am when it comes to putting on makeup, smearing lotion on my skin is a different story. I don’t see the point of using as there are no desirable effects, for me at least. I live in a tropical country and it will just make me feel sticky and greasy; and when in air-conditioned room, will just not help in any way the dryness of my skin. Also, I feel it takes a lot of time to put on and I’m the girl who’s always in the nick of time. Well, blame the thoughts to the majority of lotions sold in our country that I believe does absolutely nothing; only provide irksome feeling on a hot day. But seriously, I can tell you I lack knowledge when it comes to lotions. I don’t take time to browse, read and search for the best or just allow myself to be a guinea pig in trying such that I feel makes me one sided with only the knowledge that since a lotion is not good, all lotions are not good . Wrong thinking right as it is very much important to take care of the skin. I do wear sunblock don’t get me wrong but the moisturization/hydration part is what I’m lacking. When Nivea released the claim “Repairs 8 SIGNS of dry skin” for a lotion, I got intrigued – not excited intrigued but uncertainty intrigued. A lot of product claims to do this and that it’s all in one, but only a few lives up to their promises so it’s really questionable (according to some people, not me..I still haven’t found a promising lotion). And again I lack knowledge on this stuff so dry skin is just DRY skin no other 8 signs, lol. But well, it will still tackle having dry skin, and my skin is dry so.. Lets evaluate me: Dry – Yes, Redness – a little, rough – heel area, tight – sometimes the face, flaky – yes, dull –yes, itchy – depends on the air temp, peeling –sometimes. A BIG hmmm..

After using the Product..

Not all lotions are bad after all. It pleases me to say that I found a lotion that works for me. Though it’s early to say that it repaired my 8 signs of dry skin, I love the softness and smoothness it gives after just one application. And what’s good about the product is it lasts long. Ex. Went out for 15 hours and after my skin still feels soft and smooth, the way it felt the morning. No sticky or greasy feeling. The thing I love most about Nivea is the light soft clean scent all their products seem to have and this particular lotion gives just that. I sometimes caught myself sniffing my skin..hehe. Again, I don’t know if this will give permanent effect on the skin if used regulary but the immediate results are promising.

proving how much I love the product..chose nivea express hydration body lotion over sunblock as I was rushing to the launch and can only apply one product..(and I call myself a loyal sunblock user) :p

I say..

No harm in trying as it is a good lotion after all plus the price starts at 36php (less than $1), so you really won’t lose anything. The only thing missing in this product is SPF. But if it will lessen the effect of the lotion, no..I’d rather layer my skin with sunblock and the orig product. Then again, if they make one with high spf retaining all the great effects of the product, nivea express hydration body lotion..Godsent! lol. But still it tops my list as the best..for now. :)

Hi everyone. To start off, I'd like to apologize for not blogging. I've been trying to keep this updated, ts just that I've been really busy with a lot of things for the past 2 weeks. I'm really sorry. Anywhoo, I just want to show you guys my new hair. I do experiment a lot with my hair and this time I got a perm. Yeah yeah..I also prefer it straight but well..having it takes effort *ahem flat iron.. and usually I just go for the lazy bun as my natural hair is just messy. So well..this is definitely better than my normal hair.

Love it or hate it?? I love it and I command you to do too..lol! :P I find this style more practical and handy to my way of life. But don't worry, my fickle mind will have me sport another hairstyle in a few weeks or so..;) Like just 2 weeks ago I dyed my hair red and right now, I'm wanting dark brown with highlights. Hayzz..I'm really damaging my hair..hope it won't get mad at me..lol!

As I told you guys before my lippies are mostly pink and nude shades. You can like count in one hand the number of dark shades I own..(and I call myself a makeup artist, geesh!) I know I reviewed the 32 lip color palette which is composed of a lot of colors but the things is, I don't like how it smelled..so I don't use it on my clients. The fear of maybe it will cause reactions or make lips darker..i'm not saying it will as I tried it..but its putting on another person who trusts you with their face..nuff said. Only the best when doing makeup on other people. :) Lucky that i do survive with my lip collection when doing gigs but seriously..the time will come when I'm presented with women of color that I cannot insist anymore of my restricted range of lippies! This is the best choice for me as Graftobian is a known makeup brand for professional makeup. They do have sets of 5 color lip palette but I wanted shades on different palette..so what the heck, I got the super palette!! :D

Truth be told, I only justified myself above about the purchase..I got this lip palette cuz its pretty and compact. lol.

Sorry for the patchy application of the colors, applied a heavy lip balm underneath each try.. :( It may look sheer in the pics but let me tell you its really pigmented. Pigmented and creamy (no matte). The lightest shade covered the actual color of my lips (except the gloss). I might not use the gloss at all as I prefer the gooey kind. The only shade that didn't translate upon application is Savage, which is my only rant on this product. I was hoping for a dark plum but it just gave a maroon color. All in all its a keeper especially for me when doing makeup on other people that you need a wide range of colors. It has all the basic lipstick needs! :)

It did receive unexpected attention as it was a very juicy gossip – a goldmine even..and well kudos to Veet! It was a very successful viral ad promo for “Veet Me”.

I dunno what came over me that I became curious with Laneige products. I haven't tried any of their products. I’m particularly taken with their white plus renew line after reading some reviews. I’ve been stressed out lately with my skin and all. My face is not badly breaking out or anything but just oily, dull, uneven and suffering from one or two bumps. I started again with a night regimen after a long time of not using any (Yes, I’m really paranoid when it comes to my face that just a tiny speck will result to me freaking out and putting a lot of creams!). Right now I’m using a cream that’s making my skin dry and flaky so I needed something for hydration to alternate with. I read that the white plus renew line promises the skin brightness and hydration. It’s worth a try plus I need to brighten up my dull pale face. The options for me are getting the product online and buying at the local store. The prices at the local store are much higher compared to online store prices but with the shipping cost and all plus they do give out samples at the local store, I guess it’s not that bad..plus of course..the long time of waiting will just make me anxious . And what do you know, a friend texted me that she’s a consultant at the local Laneige store that I decided to visit (and I know she’ll give me a lot of freebies, hehe).

I’m on a real tight budget, that even though my eyes are wandering, I’m settled to just get the laneige white plus renew night cream and the skin refinisher—not originally planned but hey..it’s just one from the other pretty things in the store! hehe.

Laneige white plus renew skin refinisher doesn't have the same liquid consistency as most toners. Its more of a liquid-gel consistency. I love the mild scent but others may find it off coz its perfumey. The bottle opening helps to dispense only a small amount of product but for me it takes a lot of time. :P The bottle is more of a pretty design than a practical one.

Laneige white plus renew night cream has a rich creamy texture but not greasy when applied. Sinks in fast when applied on the skin. Happy to say that during the morning after the first application, my face didn't turn up oily and just looks fresh and smooth. Hoping it doesn't break me out though. Oh and this is more scented compared to the skin refinisher (same scent though).

HBC San San Mousse Foundation and Blush

Hi guys. Better late than never right..haha. I want to share with you the latest makeup line from HBC, the San-San mousse foundation and blush. It’s been awhile since I last tried San-San products so it was exciting for me to try this brand again and enjoy their new line.

HBC San-San Mousse Foundation

Good thing it has SPF15.

Even on beach days, outings, etc..I wear makeup to hide my pale skin, eyebags and spiderveins (ick redness). Of course, not the normal you see me wearing but something to really fake the "au naturel" look. Maybelline white mousse foundation is my go to base coz it really doesn't look like I'm wearing anything (with my skin color..its hard for makeup not to show up). So I'm really hoping I can get the same effect with this.

150php ($3.30)

It was surprisingly small and I don't think it will last me a long time. Good though for the expiration conscious.

The mousse foundation is available in 3 shades: Natural (Light), Beige (Medium), Olive (Dark). Though I say its medium and dark, the shades go a little lighter than normal. Let's just say if I get a little bit of tan, I might be able to use the Beige.

The product provides a very sheer coverage. I think this will only work for girls with fair-medium complexions (around nc20-35ish??). I still haven't tried this on my whole face coz during the time I applied it on one area, it made the peeling on my skin more pronounced that I quickly removed it. Will get back on this when my skin gets better.

Unlike the foundation, this provides a better coverage..for my liking I mean. This will be perfect for medium skin tone gals. The blushes are a little dark for fair skinned people so apply with a light hand. It will look clownish if applied a lot, otherwise, it's perfect for a natural blush effect.

I believe this is the cheapest when it comes to mousse makeup line..correct me if I'm wrong. I hope they will create a few more shades for the foundies to cater a larger group as most pinays are morena--not unless everyone is taking glutathione..lol. Also more shades for the blush to give us more choices. I'll be posting soon an fotd of me wearing the products.

Whooga Pink Ugg Boots

Living in a tropical country where majority wears flip-flops/sandals makes me hesitant to wear boots specifically ugg boots. Let’s just say sometimes the weather is just hot that it’s not fitting plus people seem to not accept the idea of boots wearing in the Philippines – You will get a lot of stares. Not the attention I want. As much as I love to buy one as it looks oh so fashionable and pretty plus the rage it gets from everyone, I stop myself coz of the reasons and the steep price that goes with it can be put to better use (buying makeups,lol). Thankfully though, I received a pair of Whooga ugg boots as a gift and it satisfied my curiosity and desire for ugg boots. Yay.

I got the Whooga ugg boots during the time when I had no plans of traveling anytime soon. So excited with trying it, I decided to wear it one whole day in our humid weather. What do you know, my feet felt comfortable with no sweating (or odor). I decided to wear something appropriate that will balance out everything. :P

*Update*
I unexpectedly travelled to Hongkong and bringing my Whooga was the best decision ever. While using it for days scouring sales around Mongkok, Jordan and Central area, I didn’t get sore feet, blisters, and the likes. It really made me thankful of Whooga as not all flat shoes are as comfortable as this. I can’t compare Whooga with the popular UGG brand and I don’t think I need to coz Whooga already exceeded my expectation with this experience. Whooga passed my Stress Test and because I love it that much, I’ll be getting a pair in black coz the styles I can create with the pink boots are limited. Soon I hope. 

Beauty & Butter SM Megamall Branch

I make it a point that every 2-3 weeks I have a "Pamper Jamie" day. You know how stress is so its a day wherein I take care of all my vanity "kakikayan" needs to make me feel good. Usually I wake up late in the weekends so I have to scrunch the activities that it will fit the few hours left before the mall closes. lol.Thus, you can see that I look harassed. I decided to go to Beauty & Butter as it was not crowded that time. Yeah it’s the weekend and of course I’m not the only one with the pampering needs and all the places seem so jam-packed.

The Experience

What I like about the place is that it doesn’t feel crowded. Though there are a lot of people, the space for each individual is big that it will make one feel really rested and cozy. I waited for awhile but not a bit bored coz I just browse their magazines for the makeup and stuffs.hehe. The sounds were upbeat so it’s more of an enjoying experience rather than relaxing (sleeping,lol). The service for me however is not to my expectations. The first time I went here, I surely love the way they treated me that’s why I opted for a round two. But this time, when I decided to blog about them, they gave me just a so-so service. Two attendants waited on me and while I love how the other attendant pampered my feet, the other one cared for my hands carelessly. It seemed she was rushing that I felt pain while she was cleaning my nails. This was actually the first time I felt tortured..haha..sorry for the term but it was really the worst, I did like my polish though. For the price I paid, overall, I think I can get the same services and results for a cheaper price.

mac msf natural in light

My “it” product. It feeds the narcissistic side of me as I get a lot of comments on how my face looks so smooth, flawless and glowing. It’s THAT good that even of my oiliest skin and knowing it’s not good in keeping oil at bay, I’d still pick this over any powder that can promise oil control – Not unless mac develop a product with exactly the same features plus oil control. Hehe. I use this everyday to set my makeup and to retouch. For real, I’m not confident with my makeup look if this is not part of my face. Convince much? Read In My Kit as it features the list of what most makeup artists use. To think the writer of the site is one of those opposed of using mac products. (It’s the only mac product on the whole site).

Ever bilena lip and cheek stain in blush

No its not The Body Shop lip & cheek stain you’re looking at. It’s ever bilena. Though it looks like a rip off of the old tbs stain and used for the same purpose, I love this one better. Blush has a light reddish-pink tint different from the general purplish-red tint color. It gives me the right amount of flush giving my pale complexion an extra oomph without overdoing it. The price is around 80php ($1.5-2) if you’re lucky enough to get it on sale at department stores or $180 ($3.75-4.25) from direct sellers coz ever bilena discontinued the product. Don’t get me wrong, I tried..Benefit Benetint, The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain (old& new formus), Tarte Cheek Stain, Origins Pinch Your Cheeks, The Balm Staniac, Avon Lip &Cheek Stain, Mistine Lip and cheek tint (both shades), ellana lip and cheek gel and the list just goes on BUT this just tops it all. *Sorry if i made a mistake, its been long since I’ve tried so I can’t remember each. 

Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment

Replaced my fave lip balm kiehls #1. This gives my crackly dry lips moisture. Just to be short, it works faster than Kiehls in making my lip smoother and not flaky.:)

Rimmel eyebrow pencil in hazel

Though I got this product just recently, I can’t stop raving about it. Thanks youtube for showing me bliss, lol. This product is waxy but hard enough to shape the brows neatly plus the added brush cover helps in blending out the color making it more natural. That is my problem before with using brow pencil that it tends to make my brows strongly made up that I prefer using brow powder. Now I use this every day as I finish much faster.

I’ve been a fond user of glycolic products and this soap is no exception. While I’m using other facial wash/soaps at the same time, I reach for this every day and it’s been my go to soap for years now. So why ? It’s cheap, readily available and it keeps my skin clear.

Earthenglow Mineral Foundation in Theoda

Dang..why can’t I find this brand anymore? I only have a small amount left of this and I just don’t know what to do know. I’m literally saving it for those days I need a special foundation coz I’m-just-feeling-ugly. I have a lot of mineral foundations but everyone knows this is my fave. It’s like my msf but with heavier coverage and gives me porcelain-like skin. Yoohoo!

Mac eyeshadow in ricepaper

My most used eyeshadow shade. The buttery champagne color is perfect neutral for just about anyone. I use this as lid wash for perk me up days and a highlighter if I want my eye makeup to pop out. When my mac neutral palette got stolen this was the very first eye shadow I bought as soon without even thinking if I might still get the palette back. Just my hg.

Mac hyperreal powder in light

I got this one in extra light and light. My miracle product to just about any makeup look. A golden yellow powder with fine shimmers perfect for highlighting the face without looking overdone. I love this for the innate glow it gives my skin. Too bad it’s discontinued. Praying that mac will have this back or that I find a seller for discontinued products. Lol!:D

Shu Uemura in PK313S

An impulse buy that soon became my most valued lipstick. I got this when I was lurking around for a long time at a makeup stall and felt embarrassed not to get anything so I just got the most useful looking pink lipstick from the stack. Happy I did, as it gave my lips a sheer gloss with an mlbb appearance.

Vaseline Healthy White SPF 21 Triple Lightening

The cheapest, biggest and with the highest spf lotion I can get is this. This my everyday lotion for sun protection.

Beach Hut Clear Spray Sunblock

again a backup..for my slathering every mins needs!

For my beach days/heavier needs of sun protection, this is my pick. I don’t like to tan and it being a spray on, makes it convenient to use just about any time I want to– I spray every few minutes when I’m under the sun or just got out of the water, literally. Oh and unlike other sun protection having white color, the sunblock is clear not making me look like a geek with white goo on her face. :P

I really hope next year to have an extensive list. Now continues the search for the best..
