By Ashley Allison, Senior Creative Designer at MJ2 Marketing

AI is changing the design process. What’s less clear, and something I think about a lot, is where it actually belongs and where it starts to create problems.

We’ve had more and more clients come to us with work they’ve generated using AI. Logos, ad creative, even full brand directions and websites. And to be fair, a lot of it looks decent at first glance. Clean, modern, usable… if not a little familiar.

But usable and effective are not the same thing. That’s usually where things start to break down.

AI is very good at producing something that looks like good design. That’s what makes it so appealing. It pulls from what already exists and assembles something that feels polished and complete. In the moment, it can feel like you’ve saved time and solved a problem.

What it’s not doing is making decisions based on your business.

It doesn’t understand your audience, what builds trust, or why someone would choose you over a competitor. It works off patterns, not context. Over time, that gap becomes more obvious.

What starts as a shortcut can turn into a brand liability.

Instead of building something distinct, you end up reinforcing what already exists. Your brand starts to blend in. Your messaging loses clarity. Your marketing becomes easier to ignore, even if it technically looks good.

That’s usually the point where teams realize something isn’t working, even if they can’t quite explain why.

Good design isn’t about decoration. It’s about translation.

It takes positioning, audience insight, and business goals and turns them into something visual that people can immediately understand and respond to. That requires judgment. It means asking better questions and pushing past the most obvious solution.

AI can support that process, but it can’t replace it.

We use AI at MJ2 all the time, but very intentionally. It’s a tool for exploration. It helps when we’re generating early directions, testing ideas, or trying to get unstuck. It gives us a starting point, not an answer.

Where things tend to go wrong is when that starting point becomes the final product.

There’s also a more practical risk that doesn’t get enough attention, which is ownership. A lot of AI-generated design exists in a gray area when it comes to originality and copyright. These systems are trained on existing work, which means what you get back may be derivative in ways that aren’t immediately obvious.

If you’re building a brand you plan to invest in and grow, that matters. Your brand is an asset, and it should be something you can fully stand behind and protect.

A simple way to think about the difference is this:

If you ask AI to design a logo for your business, it will likely give you something that looks right. The colors feel current. The layout is balanced. The result feels familiar.

A designer starts in a different place. They’re asking why your business exists, what your audience needs to feel, and how your competitors are positioning themselves. The end result might still feel simple, but it’s intentional. It’s built to differentiate, not just to check a box.

That distinction shows up in performance.

AI can give you something that looks finished. A designer gives you something that works. Something that guides behavior, builds trust, and creates consistency across every touchpoint.

So the question isn’t whether you should use AI in the design process. You probably should.

The real question is where you stop relying on it.

If you’re trying to move quickly, AI will help you do that. But if you’re trying to build something that lasts, something that connects with your audience and supports growth, you still need someone behind the work who understands how and why those decisions are being made.

That’s the line we pay attention to every day at MJ2. And it’s usually the difference between something that looks complete and something that actually performs.

If you’ve ever wondered, “Why isn’t my business showing up online?” you’re not alone. In just a few years, the way people search for answers has completely changed.

Five years ago, if someone needed a service or a product, they did a good ole’ fashioned Google search. And while many of us are still loyal ‘Googlers’, we also might use ChatGPT. Or Grok. Or some other Language Learning Model (LLM) that seems to spit out information faster than we can finish typing the question (or for those of us that prefer voice search, asking).

The point is the way people search for answers has changed…and is still changing… everyday. Instead of scrolling through pages of search results, people are getting direct answers – sometimes without ever clicking through to a website. They’ve begun to put their trust into the AI-generated response and move on.

For businesses, this matters. A lot. Now, it’s not just about “ranking on Google.” It’s about being visible wherever your potential customers are looking, whether that’s a search engine, a voice assistant, or an AI chat tool.

How can my business become more findable online?

Showing up online requires a mix of three things: SEO, AEO, and GEO.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

When someone types in something like “luxury home builder near me,” “cat specialist vet in Columbus,” or “best pool equipment supplier,” Google has to decide which businesses deserve to be shown first. That decision isn’t random.

How to get your business to be one that Google chooses:

Identify high-intent keywords, like “luxury home builder near me”, and use them on your website.

Optimize on-page content, site speed, and your mobile experience.

Build backlinks and internal links

The goal of SEO is to build long-term authority and drive steady traffic to your site when someone is actively searching for what you offer.

AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)

Like we said earlier, sometimes people get the answer they need without ever clicking through to a website. These are called “zero-click searches”.

Here’s what that looks like in real life:

Google Featured Snippets – When Google displays a short, direct answer at the very top of the search results, often pulled from a specific website.

“People Also Ask” boxes – The expandable question sections on the results page that show related questions and quick answers.

Voice search responses – When you ask Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant a question and hear a spoken answer.

AI Overviews – Summaries generated by AI in response to a query that appear at the very top of the search page

In all these cases, none of those answers are chosen by accident. They’re being pulled from someone’s website. AEO is simply about increasing the chances that the answer being pulled is yours.

How to position your business as the one providing that answer:

Identify common questions your customers are already asking, and answer them, as well as related questions, clearly on your website.

Write concise, direct responses before diving into deeper explanations.

Use clear headings, FAQs, and structured formatting that makes information easy to scan.

Keep your information accurate and up to date.

We dive further into optimizing your site for zero-click searches here »

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)

Instead of only searching Google, people are now asking tools like ChatGPT and other LLMs for recommendations, comparisons, and explanations. These systems generate responses by pulling information from multiple sources across the internet and then summarizing it for the user.

If your business isn’t showing up in those AI-generated answers, it usually isn’t because of one single issue. It’s often a mix of weak or thin content, inconsistent business information across platforms, and a lack of authority signals that LLMs can rely on.

How to increase the chances your business shows up in LLM responses:

Create in-depth, authoritative content that demonstrates real expertise.

Build a consistent brand presence across platforms (website, directories, media mentions, reviews).

Earn mentions or references from reputable websites in your industry.

Maintain accurate, consistent business information everywhere your company appears online.

The goal of GEO is to position your brand as a trusted source of knowledge, leading LLMs to use your site when summarizing answers to queries.

The Value of an AI Visibility Audit

Most businesses don’t actually know how visible they are across search, AI, and answer engines, or where the gaps are. That’s exactly what our AI Visibility Audit is designed to uncover.

With the AI Visibility Audit, the MJ2 team:

Reviews how (and if) your business appears in Google search, answer features, and leading AI tools.

Identifies content, authority, and consistency gaps that may be keeping you out of LLM responses.

Provides a prioritized action list to improve your SEO, AEO, and GEO so you can start earning more visibility where your customers are actually searching.

If you want to know whether AI tools can “see” your business today—and what to do if they can’t—the AI Visibility Audit is the best place to start.

Learn More

To Recap…

Just because the way people search has changed doesn’t mean the fundamentals of showing up online have changed with it.

Search Engines and LLMs are both looking for the same thing: content that’s structured clearly, written by real people with real expertise, and supported by credibility signals like reviews, mentions, and consistency across platforms. This is exactly the kind of work we help our clients think through at MJ2 Marketing. If you need help making sure your business is visible, clear, and positioned well no matter how people are searching, we’re ready to help.

Start a Conversation »

Most marketing plans launch in January with big goals, bold ideas, and a fresh calendar full of possibilities. But by March? A lot of those plans are already collecting dust.

After nearly two decades helping growth-minded brands stay focused, flexible, and effective, we’ve seen the patterns. We know exactly what causes early marketing plans to stall…and what actually works when you’re trying to build something that lasts.

Here are three of the biggest culprits behind failed marketing plans:

1. You Have Unrealistic Expectations Based on Your Goals

When you launch a new marketing plan in January, by the end of Q1, leadership is asking, “Where are the results?” And if the numbers don’t look game-changing yet, the entire strategy gets called into question.

But here’s the thing: most digital marketing wins don’t happen overnight. Organic growth takes time. SEO takes time. Building trust with your audience and shifting their behavior. Definitely takes time.

The clients who succeed are the ones who stay the course but make smart optimizations along the way – not the ones that jump ship after a few months.

2. You’re Putting Money Towards the Wrong Campaigns

For many industries, marketing performance is cyclically influenced by consumer behavior, industry trends, and seasonal shifts. And one of the most common mistakes we see is companies investing ad dollars towards campaigns that are ill-timed. For example, restaurants often see a slowdown from January to March. Post-holiday budgets are tight, it’s cold, and many people are cutting back or participating in Dry January. That means that it’s probably not the best time to launch a retargeting campaign for previous customers.

BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN GO DARK. These slower cycles are actually the perfect time to invest in campaigns that generate brand awareness, helping you stay visible during down periods ensures your brand is top of mind when customers are actually ready to re-engage.

3. There Are Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen

Revamping your digital marketing can feel exciting – new goals, new tools, new people – but it’s easy to overcomplicate things.

We see it all the time: companies bring too many cooks into the kitchen. “AI can do this, but let’s hire freelancers for that. Our internal team will own this, but let’s outsource this work to an agency.” In these instances, everyone owns a different piece of the puzzle, but it’s hard to keep track of who’s doing what, or why. When this happens, execution starts to slow, priorities start to clash, and strategy becomes incohesive, leading to inconsistent messaging, duplicated efforts, and missed deadlines.

How to avoid falling into this trap? Let the following four words guide your marketing plan.

More. Isn’t. Always. Better.

Trust us, it’s a lot easier to stay on track when you’ve got a tight, well-aligned team, whether that’s internal, external, or a combo of both. The key is having clear roles, shared goals, and partners who actually talk to each other.

Some final thoughts…

Great marketing doesn’t fall apart by March. But overcomplicated, overhyped, or under-planned marketing? That almost always does.

At MJ2 Marketing, we help brands build marketing strategies that can go the distance, not just survive Q1. With nearly 20 years of experience, we’ve built a process that works, and more importantly, one that adapts as your business grows.

So, if your 2026 plan is already starting to feel off track, let’s get it working smarter, together.

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the work, the wins, and the momentum that shaped the past twelve months at MJ2 Marketing. Consider this our year-in-review – or as we like to call it: “MJ2 Wrapped”.

19 New Clients Across Diverse Industries

This year, we welcomed 19 new client partners, broadening our reach across a wide range of industries, including:

Restaurants

Veterinary & Animal Health

Mental & Behavioral Health Services

Aesthetic Services

Financial Services

Childcare

Education

Government and Nonprofit

Each partnership came with unique goals and challenges – and building thoughtful digital strategies around them has been a driving force of our year.

Eight Website Launches Worth Bookmarking

This year brought eight major website launches, each rooted in user experience, clean design, and stronger digital presences.

Second Street Fund

Ohio Real Title

Accent on Management

Fowler Homes

BesTitle

People First Communities

Chile Verde

Anchor Health Services

Four Awards Earning Us Industry Recognition

We don’t chase awards—but when our work is recognized, it means the strategy and execution resonated.

In 2025, we earned four major awards, including:

Gold MarCom Award – MJ2 Marketing was awarded Gold in the Travel and Tourism Category at the internationally recognized MarCom Awards for our digital paid media campaign, “Love in Dublin.”

Multiple AVA Digital Awards – We earned three AVA Digital Awards – including a Platinum award – celebrating standout digital, content and creative work.

RUBY Award – Our partnership with Visit Dublin on the “Love in Dublin” marketing campaign resulted in six RUBY Awards, including first place in the Digital Campaign category.

These wins reflect the quality and consistency our team brings to every project.

Two New Team Members Strengthening Our Bench

We grew our internal team with two talented additions:

Giulia Blake, Graphic Designer

Hannah Gary – Digital Marketing Specialist

Their work is already woven into many of our 2025 wins.

Countless Client Events Covered

Beyond strategy, 2025 was a year of showing up. We were proud to support and cover countless client events, including:

Pet Cremation Services booth at the Midwest Veterinary Conference

Faithful Friends Veterinary Clinic & Cat Specialty Center Grand Opening

Timeless Skin Solutions Patient Appreciation and Staff Training Events

OAAPN Statewide Conference

OSANA Annual Conference

Shawnee Station Thrift & Sips

…and many more

Being present for the big moments, small wins, and everything in between matters – it’s part of how we build real partnerships, not just marketing plans.

Countless Content Shoots

From walk-throughs of stunning custom homes to behind-the-scenes looks at aesthetic treatments and seasonal restaurant menus; content shoots were a part of our weekly schedules this year.

We conduct monthly or quarterly content shoots for most clients, with additional sessions to capture major milestones and moments – because timely, authentic content is the foundation of strong digital marketing.

Looking Ahead

2025 was a strong year – new relationships, new talent, new work, and new ideas. We’re grateful for the trust our clients place in us and proud of what our team delivered.

If this year is any indication, 2026 has a lot in store.

Even as a digital marketing agency, we get it – there are an overwhelming number of marketing tools and channels today. So, it’s no surprise that for business owners who don’t have an in-house marketing team, trying to sort through all the options and figure out what’s actually worth using feels almost impossible.

As a result, many skip right past that step and jump straight into tactics:

“Should we be on TikTok?”

“Do we need an AI chatbot?”

“Should we switch CRMs?”

Without clarity on what works, businesses often make the following mistakes:

They invest all their time and money into the wrong channel(s): Posting to Instagram every day or throwing all your budget towards Google Ads isn’t going to move the needle if that’s not where your customers are.

They spread themselves too thin across multiple channels: Many businesses, especially small businesses, don’t have the resources or time to manage multiple platforms effectively, leading to wasted effort.

If this feels familiar – like you’re shooting in the dark or falling into the “more is better” trap – we can help you sort out what’s actually worth your time (and effort, and money, etc.).

Creating Your Digital Stack

Here’s how MJ2 Marketing is helping restaurants, franchises, and professional service businesses identify a digital stack of tools and channels that helps move revenue:

We Start with Strategy, Not Tools

There’s no universal “right” digital stack. What works depends entirely on your business – your goals, your customer journey, your timeline, and your definition of success.

That’s why our process starts with understanding your audience and how they make decisions. Where are your customers looking for you? What matters to them? What action do you want them to take?

Once we know who you’re trying to reach and what you want them to do, we build a digital stack that supports a repeatable, effective strategy. For example, if a restaurant wants to drive new and repeat customers, their digital stack may include:

Paid Social: Think Meta Ads that encourage potential customers to make a reservation.

Email Marketing: A post-visit email to drive repeat bookings.

We Also Prioritize Based on Intent

The point is not to be everywhere. It’s to align channels with how people look for your services. For service-based businesses, we might recommend starting with Google Ad campaigns because this typically is where leads with high buying intent are already looking.

From there, a thoughtful social strategy helps build awareness, credibility, and familiarity.

What You Need

Like we said, there isn’t a universal ‘right’ stack, but there are a few components that almost every business needs to build a reliable digital presence.

1. A High-Performing Website – Your website is the center of your digital ecosystem and supports every other marketing effort. It needs to load quickly, communicate clearly, and make the next step obvious to your audience. Key elements of a great website include:

Fast, mobile-first design: Most users will leave a slow-loading or poorly formatted site.

Clear call-to-action structure: Guide visitors to take the next step, whether that’s booking, purchasing, or contacting you.

Lead capture system: Capture prospects early to nurture them through email or retargeting campaigns.

Reviews and testimonials: Social proof builds credibility and trust.

Tracking infrastructure: Understand what’s working and optimize based on real behavior.

2. Email Marketing – While algorithms change, email stays. We call it an “oldie but a goodie” because It’s one of the highest-ROI channels that supports conversions, strengthens customer relationships, and keeps your brand top of mind.

Nurture and convert leads: Move new contacts toward conversion over time.

Drive repeat business: Engage existing customers with offers, updates, and reminders.

Supports other channels: Retarget audiences from paid and social campaigns to reinforce your overall strategy.

3. Paid Media – Paid media strategies that include PPC, paid social, and programmatic advertising to deliver impactful results through highly targeted campaigns.

Google Ads for Local Intent Capture – Put your business in front of people who are actively looking for what you offer – like “daycare near me” or “Italian restaurant open now.” Ads show up when people are actively searching for your services. And unlike organic search, which can take weeks or months to build traction, paid campaigns start driving traffic right away.

Meta Ads for Awareness & Offers – Social advertising is a cost-efficient way to introduce people to your business and make it easy for them to sign up, book, or engage. Users can complete a sign-up or request without leaving the platform, and special offers or promotions both help bring back existing customers and attract new ones.

4. Local SEO & Maps Optimization – Local SEO is ideal for service-based and brick-and-mortal businesses, ensuring people can find your business when they’re searching nearby. Make sure your business name, address, and phone number (NAP) are accurate everywhere online, encourage positive reviews, and ensure keyword-focused location pages help you rank higher in local search results. Plus, optimizing for Google Maps ensures your business shows up for “near me” searches.

5. Analytics – Data doesn’t need to be complex, but it is needed. Clear analytics that tell you what’s performing, what’s not, and where to adjust can eliminate guesswork and reduce wasted spending.

What You Don’t Need

More isn’t always better. From our perspective, businesses aren’t under-resourced; they’re over-complicated. Here’s what to leave out of your marketing strategy in 2026:

20 different social channels: You don’t need to be everywhere. Focus on the platforms your audience actually uses.

Chasing viral content: Going viral is unpredictable and rarely drives consistent results.

Overbuilt CRMs no one uses: Complex systems only work if your team can actually use them.

AI tools without a strategic framework: Automation only works when it’s tied to a clear goal and plan.

Building an effective digital presence is understanding who your customers are, where they spend their time, and which channels drive them to act.

At MJ2 Marketing, we can help you develop a core stack and tailored strategy that helps attract new customers, retain existing ones, and measure results along the way.

About the MarCom Awards

Administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), the MarCom Awards celebrate standout achievements in marketing and communications.
About the Campaign: Love in Dublin

In collaboration with Visit Dublin, Ohio, MJ2 was tasked with positioning The Dublin Link – the world’s longest single-span, single-tower S-shaped suspension bridge – as a romantic destination worth discovering. Our goal? To showcase Dublin as the ultimate romantic getaway within a short drive from major regional markets.

Campaign Objectives:

Encourage engagement through interactive experiences like quizzes, itineraries, and giveaways

Strategy + Execution: Digital That Delivers

MJ2 delivered a full-funnel digital campaign that blended creativity and performance from start to finish. Key components included:

We tapped into audience behavior, layered in strategic targeting (including retargeting and “Couple Traveler” interest segments), and used optimization benchmarks that outperformed travel industry averages.

Campaign Results at a Glance

I started at MJ2 Marketing as a Digital Marketing Specialist in May. One of the things I enjoy most about my role is the variety that comes with managing social media for a wide range of clients. Every brand has a unique voice and audience, and I find it interesting to tailor content and strategies to fit each one. I also really value that MJ2 is so involved in the local community, from supporting small businesses to participating in events like the Dublin Irish Festival 5K. I’m excited to continue learning and growing alongside a team that prioritizes both strategy and creativity.

Before joining MJ2, I graduated from The Ohio State University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing. I didn’t originally plan to study marketing, but once I started taking a few courses, I found myself enjoying the mix of data and analytics with creative thinking. Although marketing is a broad field, I was particularly drawn to digital marketing and how dynamic and fast-paced it can be. I also really enjoyed being in Columbus during undergrad and knew I wanted to start my career here after graduation.

Outside of work, I love exploring and trying new places, whether that’s traveling somewhere new or checking out a local spot in Columbus. I especially enjoy finding new coffee shops or restaurants and supporting small businesses in the area.

Q&A with Hannah

What is your favorite thing about working at MJ2?
MJ2 encourages learning and growth in every part of the job. I love being part of a team where asking questions, sharing ideas, and trying new things is welcomed.

What is your favorite relaxing activity?
I love getting outside and enjoying nature, whether it’s just a walk through my neighborhood or visiting a Metro Park.

What are you currently reading?
If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio.

How do you take your coffee?
I usually have regular coffee with creamer, but I also love a Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew from Starbucks.

What is your favorite restaurant in Columbus?
There are so many great restaurants to choose from, but I always find myself going back to High Bank Distillery. It’s walkable for me, and I love the atmosphere, food, and drinks.

For nonprofit organizations, donations and contributions are the driving force behind their ability to fulfill their missions and create meaningful impact. That’s why building genuine, lasting relationships with donors and supporters is so important. But what does it take to truly connect with donors and cultivate loyalty?

Strategic storytelling.

Donors don’t want to feel like a checkbook – they want to feel genuinely connected to the cause they support. And when it comes to developing this sort of emotional investment, nonprofits must go beyond just sharing facts and figures. Data – while important for validating a cause – also makes it feel abstract. To make a mission feel human, nonprofits need to shift their approach to storytelling that highlights the actual humans and communities being helped.

At MJ2 Marketing, this type of storytelling is something that we specialize in.

Our Approach to Nonprofit Marketing

Working with a boutique agency like MJ2 Marketing means our clients experience personalized, high-touch marketing solutions that are backed by data and tailored to their needs. Over the years, we’ve worked with countless nonprofit leaders, including Executive Directors, Boards, and professional fundraisers, to develop impactful digital marketing strategies that support campaign efforts and elevate the story of why their work matters.

In doing so, we don’t just drive awareness – we give nonprofit leaders valuable time back to focus on what matters most: building donor relationships and driving their mission forward.

Here are a few examples of non-profit clients we’ve walked alongside:

Case Study: Dublin Food Pantry | “Everyone Eats Here” Campaign

Our 2022 partnership with Dublin Food Pantry and Cramer & Associates on the “Everyone Eats Here – #FeedDublin” capital campaign is a powerful example of using strategic storytelling to drive donor support.

The campaign’s goal was to raise $3 million to purchase and renovate a new facility for the Pantry – one that could better serve the growing needs of the Dublin community. To lay the foundation for this effort, we conducted in-depth community research and engaged key stakeholders in conversations to fully understand the need for the Pantry.

Using these insights, MJ2 developed the campaign’s central theme: “Everyone Eats Here”. We crafted not only creative assets, but also the campaign’s voice and messaging, to bring this theme to life. Our goal was to tell the story of the Dublin Food Pantry in a way that felt personal and real and to show the true need in the community and the powerful impact donors could have by getting involved.

Case Study: One Dublin | “Spread Sunshine” Initiative

More recently, MJ2 partnered with One Dublin to launch the “Spread Sunshine” campaign – an initiative aimed at reintroducing the organization following its rebrand from Welcome Warehouse. Though One Dublin’s name had changed, the mission remained the same: to support Dublin neighbors facing challenges through small acts of kindness.

To help bring new visibility to their cause, MJ2 developed fresh creative, including updated iconography and a full social media refresh. These assets were used to promote the opening of the new location of the One Dublin Community Free Shop and encourage monetary donations to help ensure basic needs were met for those facing unexpected job loss, health crises, or other disruptions.

The Cleveland Pops Orchestra

Our collaboration with The Cleveland Pops Orchestra is a unique example of how strategic branding and digital marketing can significantly enhance brand awareness, ticket sales, and donor engagement.

In our initial discovery, we found that The Cleveland Pops faced several pressing issues, including an aging audience that led to a decline in ticket revenue, as well as a lack of modern marketing efforts.

To tackle these challenges, MJ2 executed a comprehensive strategy featuring a complete brand revitalization, including a new logo, tagline and thumb stopping creative. We launched this alongside email campaigns, paid and organic social media efforts, and updated landing pages to engage a younger, mobile-friendly audience – without alienating its core supporters.

Ohio State Parks Foundation (OSPF)

MJ2 has also worked closely with the Ohio State Parks Foundation (OSPF) to drive donor engagement, increase donations, and inspire referrals through a variety of strategic digital campaigns. As part of our strategy, we collaborated closely with the OSPF leadership team on the development and execution of specific campaigns around giving opportunities, providing social media, email, and design support, including the creation of the logos for OSPF and the Heart of the Parks membership program.

Why MJ2 Marketing?

We understand that every nonprofit has a story worth telling and when it is told with intention and heart, it can move people to act. Through our personalized, high-touch approach, we don’t just help organizations meet their fundraising goals; we help them forge deeper donor relationships and elevate their impact.

Whether you’re launching a capital campaign, refreshing your brand, or simply looking for a partner who “gets it,” we’re ready to help you bring your mission to life through smart, strategic storytelling. Let’s work together to tell the story your donors won’t forget.

Why Technical SEO is the Hidden Driver of Digital Success

In today’s hyper-competitive digital landscape, it’s not enough to simply create compelling content; you must ensure that your content – and therefore, your brand – is findable. At MJ2 Marketing, we know technical SEO is the behind-the-scenes powerhouse ensuring your website’s visibility, user experience, and overall digital performance.

What is Technical SEO?

In simple terms, technical SEO involves improving the behind-the-scenes parts of your website, making it easy for search engines like Google and Bing to find and rank your pages. It’s the foundation that ensures your audience actually sees all the hard work you put into your content.

It helps search engines clearly see and properly rank your site, making it easier for your audience to discover you online. If search engines have trouble accessing your site, potential visitors will struggle to find it as well.

A sample of technical tasks that contribute directly to improved visibility and performance in search results, include:

Website Speed Optimization

Mobile Optimization

Structured Data Implementation

URL Structure Optimization

Error Resolution and Redirect Management

Site Architecture and Internal Linking

Why Technical SEO Matters

Websites with strong technical SEO perform better, attracting more visitors and converting those visits into real results. We’ve witnessed firsthand how getting these details right can significantly impact your business growth.

Here’s how technical SEO helps your brand thrive:

Quicker Load Times: People (and Google) prefer websites that load quickly. Don’t let slow loading times push your visitors away.

Improved Visibility: A clean, organized website makes it easier for search engines to find and index your pages effectively.

Increased Trust: Websites secured with HTTPS are trusted more by visitors and favored by search engines.

The Power of Internal Linking

One often-overlooked aspect of technical SEO is internal linking, which enables the strategic connection between your website’s pages. Thoughtful internal linking boosts your SEO and helps visitors explore your website naturally.

Tips for effective internal linking:

Natural Integration: Include links organically within your content where they make sense.

Relevant Anchor Text: Use clear, descriptive phrases to give both readers and search engines context about linked pages.

Logical Navigation: Structure your website clearly so visitors can easily find their way around.

Leverage Data for Optimized Results

Our analytics-driven approach at MJ2 helps us continuously refine your website’s technical health. Monitoring tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and sophisticated SEO dashboards reveal opportunities for performance enhancements, ensuring your website remains optimized and responsive … and your brand stays top-of-mind.

Ready to Boost Your Digital Presence?

Technical SEO isn’t just a box to check. It’s a strategic initiative necessary for serious growth. Let MJ2 Marketing use our expertise in technical SEO and digital optimization to work for your brand.

Long before I officially became a graphic designer, I was a kid whose life was consumed by her imagination and desire to create. I was constantly telling stories, drawing, building, painting, making, and writing. My parents like to specifically remind me of the days I spent at our kitchen table repeatedly writing out the alphabet in the many “typefaces” I’d created.

When I discovered design as a career path, it felt like the culmination of everything I’d been looking for. Creativity has always been a part of how I navigated and processed the world, but design gave me a direction. It requires purpose, meaning, strategy, and intention–values I hold closely in my own life. That clarity pushed me to study at The Ohio State University, where I obtained my B.S. in Visual Communication Design in 2024. Here I developed and refined my skills in typography, brand identity design, color theory, UX/UI, and more.

My interest in design is strongly fueled by my love for exploration and travel. Visiting many different places around the world has exposed me to diverse design styles, visual languages, methods of communication, art, and architecture. If I’m not designing, I’m definitely planning my next adventure.

I’m very excited to be part of the MJ2 team and to continue to grow as a designer and individual alongside such kind and talented individuals.

Q&A with Giulia

What is your favorite thing about working at MJ2?

My favorite thing about working at MJ2 is getting to experience the nuances of different projects and clients, as well as gaining more insight into the business/marketing side of an agency.

What are you currently reading?

I just finished reading “The Fury” by Alex Michaelides.

What’s your favorite restaurant in Columbus?

Columbus has so many great restaurants, but I think either Forno or Marcella’s would have to be my favorite.

What’s your favorite relaxing activity?

I feel most relaxed when I’m sitting outside chatting with my friends or listening to music.

How do you take your coffee?

I switch it up almost every time I order it, but when I make it at home I always add a splash of the Chobani creamer.
