Odell Beckham Jr. had one last game on the Cleveland Browns, and then he was released about a week later was officially signed to a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams. It will be interesting to see how he’ll do with a new team and quarterback, Matthew Stafford. Will this help the Rams with Robert Wood being out? Or is Cooper Kupp all that they need?

The Social Media Hammer

I’ve heard it said that social media is a hammer – it can be used to build up or destroy. That’s tru-ish. I understand the sentiment, but that premise assumes the user fully owns and controls the tool.

The hammer is in fact an artificial intelligence whose sole goal is to hold our attention hostage for a corporation’s profit. That same AI (aka algorithm) actually rewards dysfunction and destruction.

The hammer is less like the one sitting idly in my tool cabinet and more like a deranged version of Pat from Handy Manny whacking me in the face.

Social media has made us lazy. We are better served with face to face interactions in the real world and direct messaging/video chatting in the digital one. It’s hard work, but anything that bypasses the algorithm is a step closer to the ideal of building each other up and truly making the world a better place. -m

Smoke Screen Meta

Amid the recent Facebook fallout it was announced they were rebranding to Meta. It was coupled with a push into the so-called metaverse. There’s little doubt it was meant to be a distraction. Imagine Mr. Zuckerberg casting down his arm as smoke arises, and Facebook disappears. The smoke screen clears, and it’s still the same man who just walked us off a cliff. Now he’s trying to fool us into thinking he will lead us into the next big digital frontier.

There are two truths to keep in mind as social media and virtual reality push forward. The first being that Mr. Zuckerberg has built an empire whose sole goal is to keep you connected to his digital platforms. It’s that simple. As long as we utilize Facebook and Instagram, we will continue to be connected, owned and sometimes addicted to its money-making machine.

The second truth is that Meta has proven they are not good stewards of our digital selves. I’m skeptical about the whole metaverse thing to begin with, and I doubt it will catch on like social media did. After more than a year of virtual-everything, I think people are longing for reality without the virtual.

At best it will accent reality, but it will never replace it.

But regardless of whether VR takes off on a large scale, Meta should by no means lead us down that path. From privacy failures to mental health issues tied to social media, they have shown themselves to be a speck of sand in the tide of human nature.

The more I study the subject, the more I’m becoming an advocate for disconnecting from social media… or at the very least, disconnecting from Facebook and its suite of apps. Politicians believe the Meta dragon can be tamed or caged with laws and regulation. But it will still be sitting on top of its monetized treasure… our attention.

Cam dropping Bombs on The Raging Red

Cam Newton proved himself worthy of being in Carolina when he helped completely DOMINATE The Raging Red.

He also got a rushing TD and of course he yelled “I’m baaaaaaaack!”

I think this is a good fit and I also wonder why they dropped him in the first place.

The Bad Batch is in my opinion the 2^nd BEST Star Wars show of ALL TIME because the characters are so

tough and there is so much to like, Omega is funny and tough at the same time and there are so

much new hints at stuff and it even connects with Mandalorian characters it just brings you into the Star Wars world.

A New Cardinal!

Zach Ertz was one of the best offensive players on the Eagles in my opinion.

He was traded to the Cardinals for a Corner Back and a Draft Pick.

He is doing really good with Arizona.

He got a TD against Houston.

Mayhem in Minnesota

Minnesota with the win against the chargers in my opinion is a surefire playoff contender.

Although their standings aren’t great the perfect purple can win it all.

But they have a rough schedule so I am unsure about there standings the most likely are 10-7, 9-8, or
8-9.

Where is Baltimore Headed?

Coming off a big loss to Miami 22-10 I’m wondering what is next for the Ravens.

It is a scary thought having Lamar Jackson losing to Mike Gesicki and Tua’s squad.

Also how didn’t Marquise Brown not help win the game, where was Devin Duvernay, where was Mark Andrews so many questions unanswered.

Patriots’ Renaissance?

The Patriots coming off a win against browns kind of gives you the feeling if there is a new X Factor QB which is Mac Jones. You also may feel are the Pats back?

Bills are 6-3 Pats are 6-4 I’m thinking the pats could be contenders.

But it is coming into Week 11 so if they are back, they should hurry it up a bit because if they lose twice in a row that could be an 8-3 Bills up against a 6-6 Pats.
