Kristen, Owner & Director

Kristen started MKDC in 2009 after many years working in other camp settings. She is a teacher with the UCDSB and has taught almost every grade and subject from kinder to grade 8 – but her specialty is music. Kristen is the magic behind the wonderful space that is camp and is very excited – as always – for the upcoming summer!

Allie, Sprouts Cabin Leader

Brooke truly grew up at camp. A camper since the age of 5, she graduated through our Firefly and Jr Staff programs and is thrilled to finally be stepping into a cabin leader role. Outside of camp she is an accomplished synchronized swimmer and coach. Welcome to the team, Brooke!

Duncan is thrilled to be back for his 2nd year on staff and first year as cabin leader. An accomplished performer, he spends most of his non-school time acting and playing music, and directed his first production this year. At camp, he is known for his enthusiasm and elaborate costumes for camp events. Welcome back Duncan!

Alivia is returning for her 2nd summer in the Saplings cabin! She is known for her unique cabin activities and gentle but firm cabin management. Alivia is studying behavioural psychology at St Lawrence College and is an accomplished gymnast and coach.

Katryna’s campers will be thrilled to see her back in the cabin this summer! Around camp she is known for her firm-but-friendly cabin style and her amazing sports skills. Katryna is a competitive hockey player, currently attends Queens University and plans on becoming a teacher.

Colin is back for his second MKDC summer and can’t wait to build some new programs! At camp Colin is known for his unique “days of yore” programming and his love of fishing. Colin has spent multiple summers at the Blackdown Cadet Training Center instructing thousands of youth. He has a bachelor of arts in history from University of Windsor and plans to pursue a Bachelor of Education.

Maeve is excited to be back for her second summer at MKDC. She is well known at camp for her creative Dreamworld “invitations to play” and the cutest Seedlings programs. Maeve is interested in becoming a children’s therapist and is currently studying at Carleton University.

Harriet, Programmer

We are thrilled to welcome Andrew as a brand new member of our team this summer! Known for his positive and dependable nature, he is passionate about working with children and is committed to making this a fun and memorable summer for everyone at camp. We can’t wait to see what he brings to the team.

Bailey brings a wealth of camp knowledge and a genuine passion for creating fun and meaningful experiences for kids. An adventurer at heart, her travels have taken her everywhere from Amsterdam to New Zealand, where she even went paragliding! Her adventurous spirit will add a unique fun this summer.

With several years of experience coaching gymnastics and working with children, Chelsea knows how to bring out the best in kids while keeping things fun and safe. She is energetic, reliable, and has a real passion for creating positive experiences for the children she works with. We just know the campers are going to love her!

Having spent six years as a camper and Firefly, she knows firsthand what makes a summer at Maple Key Day Camp truly special. Now stepping into a new role, her love for the outdoors and genuine passion for working with children make her a perfect addition to the team!

Kierra is an energetic and adventurous soul with a love for the outdoors, animals, and discovering new things. Currently studying a Bachelor of Accounting at Carleton University, she brings both smarts and heart to the team. We know that energy is going to shine through in everything she does at camp this summer.

Having spent time as an educational assistant, supply teacher, and even worked at Disney World, Thomas brings a one-of-a-kind mix of experience and enthusiasm to the team this summer! Currently studying Elementary Education at Bishop’s University, he is a natural leader with a genuine passion for working with children. We are so happy to have him on the team.

Elena is an enthusiastic and welcoming spirit with a natural ability to make everyone feel included. She loves swimming, canoeing, hiking, and arts and crafts, making her a perfect fit for everything camp has to offer. Her big heart is sure to leave a lasting impression on every camper she meets.
