Generally, the promoter of this scheme attracts you by advertising on cable television and, perhaps, by inviting you to a business opportunity trade show at a hotel or convention center. You may be:
Urged to buy software programs and even computers at exorbitant prices; a program selling at a software store for $69 might cost you several thousands of dollars.
Told that your work will be coordinated with insurance companies by a central computer.
Required to pay for expensive training sessions available at a “current special rate” that will be higher in the future, and
Pressured to make a decision immediately.
Most likely, the expensive training sessions are superficial, and the market for your services is very small or nonexistent. The promoter may delay the processing of your job, citing a backlog or mistakes in your work. There may also be no central computer as advertised. Work From Home: Benefits
For years, Ive been fortunate enough to work from home. This became a necessity at a point when I needed to care for my mother, and now once again as my employment is as a full-time, live-in caregiver. I am able to supplement my salary as a caregiver by working from home, and because of the tremendous tax benefits from having my own home-based business, I can shelter my primary income due to many write-offs that I wouldnt have otherwise if I worked outside the home.
As I always say, I have a 30-second commute in the morning to the kitchen to put on the coffee, and if I choose to do so, I can work in my pajamas … no alarm clock, no having to get up 1-2 hours early to make sure I can get ready and be to work on time. No fighting traffic nor having to pay those high prices at the gas pumps, no contributing to pollution or global warming. NO BOSS telling me what to do, not having to punch a time clock, no having to cram in doing chores and necessities of life on my lunch hours, before or after work or on my days off.
Been there and done that for many years and I really resented feeling like my family had to take a back seat to my employment and the many hours each day and week that I was actually away from my home and family due to my work schedule. There were times when I was working sometimes as many as 80 hours a week plus commute … this left very little time for anything else, plus it always seemed that the more I made, the more the government took in taxes.
To work from home just makes perfect, logical sense to me.
Working from home, I am now able to set my own schedule, take breaks when I feel like it, take time off when I want to without having to ask permission. I can earn as much or as little as I choose … if I want to earn more, I just do more. Plus, with the business model Ive chosen, I am building long-term, residual ongoing income and continual growth, a solid foundation and stability in my business. I can do business anywhere in the world via the telephone or over the internet. When working from home, I can also choose the people I work with versus being stuck in a dead-end, go nowhere job, cooped up in an office sitting side-by-side in a cubicle with someone I am in no way compatible with.
When deciding whether to work from home or the alternative, the choice for me is simple. The personal freedoms with respect to my time and having total control over my financial destiny make this my ONLY choice.

Four years ago I took early retirement from teaching with the intention of finding a way to work from home to earn some money to supplement my pension. I could never have imagined the journey I was about to embark on.

Who in their right mind would want to work from home? Me!
When you work from home look at all you have to give up. I say that to myself every winter day when the snow is falling and its 5AM. Just look at the price I have to pay to work from home. I say that to myself at least 10 times before I roll over and bury my head in the pillow for another 40 winks.
Winter days are my lazy days. I remember in the fall of 1993 it started to snow and it kept on snowing. I was snowed in pretty much all winter, snow drifts to the second floor. Good thing my trip to the office was just down the stairs, past the fireplace (toss another log on the fire) and into the office.

Its a common phrase thats been in use for quite a while now. How many times have you heard it? I cant count the number of times. Of course, I may have heard it a few times more than you have. You see, I was one of those MLM people who were looking for ways to work from home and make good money there. So I did everything I could to make it happen. I have destroyed my warm market with I dont know how many, Well that one didnt work. Lets try this one!
I think that Ive heard the phrase work from home most probably from traffic exchanges. I remember signing up for 7 different traffic exchanges and surfing for 3 – 5 hours a day just to keep my credits high so that millions would be able to see my webpage. What a drag that was. I didnt get any success that way by-the-way.
Well, if you have been down that road, then you know it gets pretty tiresome quite quickly. Is there not a real work from home opportunity where I can make money like a real business with real customers instead of recruiting my customers? I think that I have finally found it.

With fuel costs on the rise, to work from home just makes sense. Plus, what about the high price thats being paid in the human sense when children become latch-key kids or husbands and wives become virtual strangers or like ships passing in the night in an effort to generate enough income to support themselves and their families? More and more, single moms or dads and parents are looking for ways to work from home and to get out of what I call racing with the rats.
Having been a single mom for years, I spent a tremendous amount of time away from my daughter between the commute to and from my jobs and many hours each day and every week at my jobs themselves. I worked for multiple employers, sometimes up to 80 hours per week (not counting commute time). I felt at times as if my daughter was being raised by pre-schools, teachers, after school programs and babysitters. Much of what I earned often went to pay the schools and babysitters, as well as for many other costs incurred. Id have given anything to be able to stop this insanity.
I longed for the day I could either find a way to not work at all or find a way to just work from home. Now in most households, both the husband and wife have to work to provide the necessary financial support to sustain their families.
Back in 1996, I finally broke the seemingly unending cycle of trading my time for money and working for others away from home. Ive now worked from home for years, and what Ive learned is that it just makes more sense. Not only do I have more time and financial freedoms and control over the choices and decisions I make, but I earn more, save more and I have tremendous tax advantages that I never had when working for someone else.
When deciding whether to work from home or the alternative, the choice for me is simple. In hindsight, Id have given anything to have spent more time at home when my daughter was growing up. The fact that I could not work from home took a tremendous toll on my relationship with my daughter and my marriage.

Many years ago I was able to work from home because of a good business built with a company called Formor International. This network marketing company had a unique compensation plan that paid high commissions for the second level, or tier, of marketers in your downline, which encouraged people to build under their downline, which put those people into profit more quickly and strengthened the group.
Formor also had websites that promoted individual products. It was easy for marketers to promote the products and build a customer base, which put sales into the system and provided steady income to the distributors since the products were very good, priced reasonably, and the customers purchased them month after month.
Many of us made enough income from this work from home business that we were able to take that one minute commute and work at our computers all day, never having to hop in a car and drive to an office.
One day those in my upline decided, for some reason I still don’t understand, to quit working with this company and move to another one… starting over to build a new distributor base and income stream. When my upline and many of my downline deserted me, I thought of simply moving on, too. But I had a lot of customers in my group and good income from those customers.
Most likely I would still be working with Formor, except they suddenly quit giving the distributors the free websites to promote the products, and thus we were no longer able to build our customer base, and over the next year my income dropped to the point I finally left Formor.
My work from home experience with Formor did teach me that a good base of customers makes for a solid business. It’s too bad the company shut off the customer websites.
I recently found another company that also has very good products, and encourages those building a business to buy customers. We buy customers for our work at home business each month, and once we have a customer, they belong to our position for as long as they remain a customer. This concept of building a work from home business with a strong customer base is one that works and more companies should try it.
Should your upline or downline in this company decide to pack up and move on, that doesn’t really affect me because they can leave, but their customers stay right there, and the sales commissions earned roll right up to my position and my work at home business just keeps growing.
When you look for a good work from home business, make sure the one you choose has a system in place where you can buy customers to provide an income base that will last and last.

Okay, you have finally had it at your nine to five (JOB) AKA Just above broke. Your boss isnt seeing eye-to-eye with you lately, theyre pushing you to do more than you can reasonably do in eight hours, and youre tired of having to put up with the whole mess. Has this desire of working from home run through your brain continuously, consumed your conciousness as you sit in traffic or dealt with the stress of the J.O.B. For me it was a desire for many years, but I just could not get a grip on how I was going to achieve this dream of being able to work from home.

I am a grandmother and a retired commodity broker. I had years of experience in how best to trade the corn crop. I knew exactly what a drought would do to hogs and feeder cattle, but how could I convert those experiences to a work from home business? It also might help if I knew how to navigate around on my computer. Six years ago when I started this journey of internet marketing, I was just getting to know who Google was and I had not a clue to the value of search engine optimization, in fact, I am not sure I understood what a search engine was. I know I did not have an iota of an idea how to build a webpage. Oh, you think I might need a webpage to market a product online?

Do you think someone this lacking in skills could develope a work from home business. I look back on how uneducated I was in even the basic computer skills and realize I would probably strongly discourage this type of person from pursing this goal unless they had the determination of a bulldog and enjoyed working like a horse.

Working from home has become the dream job for many people today. The reason for this work from home dream are as plentiful as there are raindrops.

People want to : spend more quality time with family, home school their children, save on gas for the commute to work with the gas prices so high, lose the boss or tell the boss I quit before the boss says that you have been made redundant, you can name your own reason for wanting to work from home.

Work from home can be divided into two categories: the work from home job and the work from home business.

The work at home job where you basically perform your company job but from home. There are a lot of benefits for both employees and employers with this arrangement.

The employee has no commute so save on transport, clothing and dry cleaning, as well as being able to claim a small percentage of household expenses for tax purposes. Not a lot but when working from home there is a little more wear and tear on some furniture and fittings.

For the employer the company saves on office space rental and some office equipment, so it is a win win situation for both the employee and employer when an employee works from home.

Another situation is where the employee actually becomes a contractor to the employer, doing the same job but providing the services by working from home. This is more beneficial to the ex employee from a tax business perspective. A business working from home has many more household expenses that are able to be claimed. There is a reality check required here when people talk of this. There are so many web pages promising huge monthly incomes able to be generated in 30, 60 or 90 days. Some people do earn large amounts of monthly income working from home but no one achieves this without experience.

The big lie about work from home opportunities is that anyone can do it. Anyone who does it has been online for years and have built up a large list of email addresses that they can market to.

The truth is that only about 5 percent of people make large amounts of money from the internet as they work from home.

There are so many MLM businesses that suggest almost instant riches. You really need to step back and think before you give your credit card details to any company that promises $ ,000 for any work from home business opportunity. For example: Work one hour per day! Earn $10,000 per month. Put 10 to 15 people per week into your downline.

The old adage if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Look for a company which teaches you what to do and how to do it first and then only if you so choose wants your credit card details to upgrade. Learn before you spend! There is only one company that I know of that does this and where the principals are totally honest.

However having said that there are some MLM and non MLM businesses where you can make an excellent income while you work from home. So if you have been burnt previously do not give up on your dream job where you have an internet business and can work from home.

So you have decided to work from home. An item you dont want to overlook is entertainment and meals. If you are with a friend and you pick up the tab this makes the whole bill tax deductible. The meals are 50% deductible. Also remember every person that comes into your home is a potential client or business associate. If you serve them drinks and dinner you can deduct 50% of the cost on your taxes. I dont know what the requirements would be for proof, but if you entertain business associates and clients in your home that means your are using more than just your office space for business. Another thing to consider if you work at home and that is to put an activity log in your auto, truck and other vehicles that you use for travel. This will become a back up document of mileage and gas. This day and age it will add up like you wouldnt believe. If you are traveling you can deduct 50% of the cost of meals. In addition travel days can be counted as business days. You can deduct the whole day if you conduct business even if only one hour per day. Keeping good records is extremely important and that includes copies of receipts. I know this seems a little nit-picky but it will sure pay off. Think of it as plugging the hole in the dike.

If you work from home and have an office set up in a designated area you can deduct a percentage of cleaning costs, insurance, property taxes, utilities, mortgage interest. It is well worth your time to keep these records available, the IRS actually will help you in paying these bills by accepting these deductions, but you need proof.

Remember this, the tax code is set up to allow many deductions for business owners that are not available to employees Like I used to tell my kids, take advantage of your job and learn everything that you can about it; it will pay off in the long haul. morning, has probably thought how wonderful it would be to work from home. No frenzied commute, no stress, no need to get out of your pjs till lunchtime.

Why work from home:

You should be clear about exactly why you want to work from home. Justifiable reasons include helping you to juggle family commitments such as childcare. It may be smarter to work from home by saving the time of a long road trip just to get to work. Perhaps it would allow you to manage your time better if you spend a lot of time working independently. Maybe you have to travel or work unsociable hours. If youre self-employed or about to start up your own business, working from home is often a sensible way of keeping your overheads down.

It takes discipline:

Be honest with yourself about how well you are suited to home working. If youre a social butterfly or someone who loves a quick gossip with your colleagues over your morning coffee, you might find it lonely being stuck at home all day on your own. theres no one there to check up on you: it can be all too easy to

This is a wise decision as it is important to ascertain whether it is viable option to work from home before you hand in your notice on your regular job.

In the first few months be prepared to work hard for little reward. The choice to work from home requires dedication and self motivation. It is not for the faint hearted but it can be an extremely rewarding and worth while experience

When it reaches the point where you are making enough money, you can quit your regular job. Doing this gives you security, piece of mind and you wont be taking risks and depending on a new business to support you.

You will also need discipline and motivation. Having this is just as important as having a business plan in place to start your work from home business. You need to be willing to get things off the ground yourself, and often willing to work for no financial return at first, or very little financial return. It helps to have vision and have a business plan in place.

You can help yourself stay motivated by setting goals and completing them and working your business every day in some small or big way. It doesnt really matter as long as you have a business plan and keep chipping away at it until it happens.

Confidence

As you begin to start your work from home business, you may come across negative people who will discourage you and make you feel less confident. You must ignore these people and only let yourself focus on the positive. Try to find people who want the same out of life as you do and mix with them. You will be able to stay motivated about your future goals if you have someone to share them with.

The last thing you need is faith in yourself. With these few things in place and you will have the ability to have a great start with you new work from home business!
