One of the games that gets consistent attention, despite its age, is Starcraft, especially the latest version. Today at MMO Explorer, we're going to look at the best of the Starcraft II strategy guide available out there today. Here's our top five picks for the Star Craft II strategy guide of choice:

Shokz Guide - this guide is very well written and nicely comprehensive. It caters to all levels of players, with newbies finding it very beneficial and old hacks finding it to have those little secrets you may not have found yet. Guides inside the overall mastery guide include one for each race, hotkey and lingo guides, and more. Price is a lifetime membership which allows online access and conversation as well as access to updates.

Joana's Starcraft 2 Guide - this is the strategy guide maker's first step away from Warcraft and to its cousin, Starcraft. This Starcraft 2 guide focuses on a full strategy approach with hints for all races, levels, etc. There is video for walk-throughs, though newbies will find it hard to follow as basics like hot key use are not covered.

Star2Pros Guide - the strategies in this guide are aimed mainly at BattleNet with video replays from the two pros who've written it being continually referenced. Explanations of each strategy are given, but this guide lacks any material for game play itself, focusing entirely on strategy. The BattleNet player with experience will find this guide very helpful, but anyone looking for a general Starcraft II strategy guide will likely see it as lacking.

Starcraft 2 Campaign Mission Walkthroughs - is a strong little guide, available for free on a lot of websites, that walks players through the beginning campaigns and non-BattleNet portions of the game. Great Starcraft 2 guide for beginners who are just starting with the game and want to unlock the whole stand-alone game and be prepared for BattleNet head-to-head.

Starcraft II Strategy Masters - hits the bottom of our list as one of the worst guides written for any game, especially as a Starcraft 2 guide. Compared to the others on our list, this one is purely useless. Unlike the others, this is a monthly pay-for-access site that features some mostly-empty blogs and forum postings and most of its content is merely links to other sites that give free access.

The PSP bills itself as the "home console you hold in your hand." With this year's lineup of games and the system finally coming to its own, that's not far from reality. The best PSP games were easy to pick because, well, all of the top 10 PSP games on our list just came out this year.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is our first choice. This is definitely the most-anticipated game for 2010 and in our lineup of PSP games, it was definitely (and easily) tops. If you've ever wanted to be Rambo (with Japanese heritage), then this is the game for you. It's also the first in this game's series to use cooperative play.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 is a close second to Metal Gear and definitely a great game on its own. It's focus on strategy makes it the best PSP games on many people's list too. This one also has great multi-player modes.

Parasite Eve: The 3rd Birthday is another top 10 PSP games pick. This sequel to the horror series is extremely well done and has been over 10 years coming. This rendition is a 3rd person shooter. With the move from mobile phones to the PSP games arena, this game definitely made a big change in itself.

MLB 10: The Show is our next pick on top 10 PSP games this year. Surprisingly, this sports game impresses with its great graphics, fun game play, and much better and more focused handheld play. A big improvement over the last version.

Resident Evil (Portable) is a great version of this blockbuster game series. While not quite as good as its console counterpart, it's still in the top 5 of our PSP games list.

The last five on our list are: Final Fantasy Agito XIII, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Persona 3 Portable, SOCOM: US Navy SEALS Fire Team Bravo 3, and Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake.

There are a lot of great Nintento DS games out right now and more coming, even with the release of the new DSi. So we here at MMO Explorer thought we'd do a roundup of the Top 10 Nintendo DS Games for 2010.

Our first pick for the top 10 games on the DS is Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth. This game is a sequel to the popular Ace Attorney original and is much better than the first one. With a fun, 3D world to explore, cases to investigate, and hilarious dialogue, this game has it all. Definitely worthy of being in the top 10 Nintendo DS games ever made too.

Next up is Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. This is part of the Persona franchise and is a great, fun, and intelligent dungeon crawl game. The story is interesting, the special powers and techniques are difficult and rewarding, and the game is just one of the more fun Nintendo DS games made.

The next two on the list are both Dragon Quest games. Both #6 (VI: Realms of Reverie) and #9 (IX: Protectors of the Starry Sky) are killer games. The anims are lame, but the game play itself is classic and addicting. These two have some of the more difficult and interesting quests of the series.

Pokemon Heart Gold/Silver is another of the top 10 Nintendo DS games that had to go on this list. Just because it says "Pokemon" on it doesn't mean it's automatically for the kiddies (and then lame, at at that). Despite it's stupid setup and lame character names, this one is strangely addicting. Even if you won't admit it, we all know you've got this one and count it as one of your top 10 games.

The last five will just get a mention. They're fun games, but we're running out of space to comment on them:

Again, Sands of Destruction, Ghost Trick, Shantae: Risky's Revenge, and Duke Nukem: Critical Mass finish out our list. These are awesome Nintendo DS games and if you haven't tried them, you should.

The Mario series of games is definitely the game series that Nintendo seems to take most seriously. It's their best-selling franchise with the most consistent numbers and they keep bringing new and better things to it with each rendition. Here at MMO Explorer, we know that not all games are massive multiplayers and not everyone always wants to play online. Sometimes, even the most hard core online gamer has to take a break and turn to his Wii or her PS for a change of pace.

For many, that means playing Mario. When Super Mario Galaxy came out in 2007, a lot of people thought that this was the epitome of Mario games. It was awesome, it was 3-D, and it was highly addictive. Now we have Super Mario Galaxy 2. As if to prove that the first was just a good start on a new branch in the Mario Tree, Super Mario Galaxy II goes all out.

The game has spectacular graphics rendering, beautiful space-scapes, and is probably the most challenging Mario to-date. Probably the most challenging bit of the game is going from 3-dimsensional, 360-degree playing to sudden transitions to old-style 2-dimensional mazes. It sounds hokey to say it, but actually playing it is a blast and requires a total shift in your thinking, mid-game.

These continual shifts in tempo and perspective (even going to upside-down play) are fun to react to and require some real skill-honing to shift from one mode to play to the next. Best of all, you can basically get all the way to 60 stars (finish) without seeing the same game play scenario twice.

A truly great game.

Today, we're looking at the Sapphire 5870 Vapor-X graphics card. Also known as the HD5870, the card is the latest from ATI to completely upgrade everything, not just the processor or on-board RAM. It was also the first DirectX 11 card to make it to market.

The Sapphire 5870 uses the 40nm RV870 DirectX 11 core that clocks at 850MHz with a 1GB buffer. The Sapphire Vapor-X is multi-display ready, much faster than any of its predecessors, and has more texture units and stream processors than any other card before it.

What all that means is that the Vapor-X graphics card has a mind-boggling 2.7 TERRAFLOPS of computer power in this little card. That's a lot of juice and it shows in performance. The Sapphire 5870 performs significantly better than its closest counterpart, Nvidia's GTX295. High-def rendering speeds were a full 14 frames faster - on par with dual processor cards, which are priced much higher!

In DirectX 11, it really shines, so the latest games to come out will definitely show hard-core improvement when played with the Sapphire Vapor-X versus an older counterpart.

Overall, this card is well worth the purchase if you can get one. Definitely for the serious gamer, it delivers some of the best graphics output available!

When the first of the three Starcraft II games emerged last year, most fans of this classic Blizzard game were stunned to see how much the company had improved the game while staying true to its decade-plus roots. Starcraft II Wings of Liberty hit shelves with a lot of fanfare and interest, selling fast.

The other two in the series (each focused on a separate race: Starcraft II Wings of Liberty focused on the Terrans (humans) while the others focused on the Zerg and Protoss respectively) came out shortly after.

In this review, we're looking at the Starcraft II for Mac versions of the game specifically, here at MMO Explorer. This player group is often overlooked as most reviews seem to focus on the PC or attempt to be generic between the two.

Starcraft II Mac has gameplay much like its PC counterpart, though the controls are slightly different to fit the Mac. Graphics are often more detailed as well, thanks to the generally superior graphics engine and display that many Macs include.

The three races are very different from one another and require specific strategies for domination. Which is the hardest is a matter of opinion, but most newbies start with the Terrans first because they are a balance between the other two races. The Zerg are based on numbers (more is better) with generally weak individual units, but units that work well in tandem and en mass. The Protoss are the opposite, with relatively strong individual units that take a long time to create and who are very resilient.

The gameplay of Starcraft II for Mac is awesome and well worth the purchase if you're into strategy games and are a fan of the undying classic Starcraft and Warcraft games.

Lining up the best gaming systems is never easy, especially since the technology keeps changing every day. Today at MMO Explorer, though, we're going to do just that: show you the best HP gaming system available right now, according to your budget allowances.

So strap in and let's get started with the best HP gaming desktops.

High Budget - if you have a sizable budget, then you won't go wrong spending the $1,900 to get an HP Pavilion Elite HPE-190t system. These babies feature Intel Core i7-980X six-core Extreme Edition 3.33GHz 12mb L3 cache chips, a whopping 9GB of SDRAM at 1066MHz, and a 1TB SATA hard drive.

The graphics are no slouch either, of course, at 1GB (full) on an ATI Radeon HD 5570 with a DVI, HDMI, DP, and VGA adapter. Well worth the cash, this is a premium gaming rig from HP.

Medium Budget - if you can't quite afford nearly two grand for a new system, have no fear. For about $1,100, you can get a great gaming setup from Hewlett Packard. This HP gaming desktop is the HP Pavilion Elite HPE-180t and is their top-seller in Core i7 systems. It has the Intel Core i7-930 quad-core 2.8GHz 8MB shared L3 cache on the motherboard. It comes with 8GB of DDR3-1066MHz SDRAM and a 640GB 7200 RPM SATA.

You also get the same awesome ATI Radeon that is in the higher-budget PC, so this is definitely the best HP gaming system available for the thousand or so budget.

Low Budget - for those shy of cash who still want the best HP gaming desktop available, a mere $700 gets you an HP Pavilion Elite HPE-110t with an Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q8300 at 2.5GHz with 4MB of L2. 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM (1066MHz) is also on board and can be easily upgraded later when you have the cash. 500GB of SATA hard drive and a 512MB ATI Radeon HD 4350 finish off the package.

Whatever your budget, there's probably one of these best HP gaming desktops ready for you right now.

With all of the advertisements and flashy websites claiming to have refurbished MacBook Pro systems for sale - and always at blockbuster prices - it's easy to get confused about whether what you see is really a good deal. Of course, it should go without saying that if the refurbished MacBook is being sold on Apple's store, it's a quality re-build and will have a warranty. Anywhere else? It's probably a gamble.

In any case, the refurbished means that the MacBook Pro for sale is not brand new, but has been sent in for a warranty claim (most likely) and has been rebuilt by someone or it may have been sold to a computer store or rebuilder as a non-working system and has now been fixed. In either case, it's not a new computer.

If the seller and rebuilder are reputable, then the computer is likely good. Watch for warranties, professionalism by the seller, and ask if they sell extended warranties for the system. If they don't, that's a sign that they may not be as good at refurbishing the MacBook Pro as they could be.

The other thing to look for is the price. Is it less than half the unit's current retail? If so, you may be getting something less than you bargained for. Rarely are good computers sold for that cheap and most refurbished MacBook computers will be sold at around 30-40% less than their retail value if new.

Generally, if the deal is too good to be true, it probably is.

The two popular Apple systems are often compared, but rarely from a gamer's perspective. That's what we plan to do here at MMO Explorer today.

First, let's look at the major differences between the two system groups. The Macbook is a budget notebook in a 13 inch screen size. It's light, portable, and cheap. The MacBook Pro, on the other hand, is much more expensive and comes in sizes up to 17 inches. It also has faster processors, a more robust architecture, and is more expensive.

The MacBook versus the Macbook Pro has a $600+ price difference with the Pro being more expensive. In most MacBook comparison articles, this is what stands out the most. Performance, however, is also very important here.

The MacBook Pro has about 50% better in processors, which means much more speed. Other improvements for the higher price include more RAM, a (sometimes) better graphics capability, larger hard drives, and of course, the larger screens.

These are all important to the gamer and must be factored in if your choice is down to MacBook comparison options.

Both the MacBook and the MacBook Pro have comparable battery life, but the MacBook is more portable with its smaller size. The Pro is nearly a pound heavier as well.

Most gamers, however, don't carry their systems around all the time, so this may not be a consideration for you. Both the MacBook and the Pro have solid GeForce graphics in them, so you're probably good there no matter what.

With the larger screen and other improvements with the MacBook Pro, however, the gamer is likely to find that system to be the better option despite its heavier price tag. If your budget won't allow, though, you can still do pretty well with the smaller MacBook.

The best Laptop Deals Online might be your best buy with the new iPad hitting the market. The lowest price of these models is the 16GB Wi-Fi at $499 with the 64GB 3G model going for $829. Now for the add-ons like a keyboard accessory for $69, yes the iPad does not come with a keyboard and another $29 for the USB power adaptor to charge your new toy. So to use this new Apple toy you must purchase additional items or it soon will not function. This proves once again that Apple and Microsoft are just too greedy.

Now compare that to a laptop from Gateway. The NV5370u has a 15.6” screen with 2.2 GHz dual core processor, 4GB ram and 500 GB of memory. This comes standard with a keyboard and a power cord, all this for as low as $579.

If small and light weight is what you have in mind then the Acer Aspire One AOD250-1584 netbook might be just right. It has a 10.1” screen and is in total only 1 inch thick. The total weight of this computer is a mere 3 pounds. The hard drive is 250 GB and has a 1 GB DDR2 with a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom processor. The 6 cell lithium battery holds a charge for hours and can be found for the low price of just $299.97.
