That said, what we need to fight is not so much male
repression. It is the engrained culture stereotyping of masculinity. As men we
don’t need to resist other groups or institutions. We need to change the water we
swim in.

I do see the seeds of organizations starting to create a
grass roots cultural change. We created http://www.mencorps.org
to give men what they need to start a men’s group. Then there are organizations
like MKP and MDI championing changing men.

I wish we had the political clout that the women’s
organizations have.

If it is OK for you to believe the universe was created by a supernatural entity who is personally interested in what you think and do without a shred of evidence, why is it not OK for us to believe in biological, intellectual, and social evolution of man by natural processes without evidence?  Do you stand in a special position that allows you to have your cake and eat it too quite unlike we mere mortals?  Why must we have evidence that convinces you while you see no necessity in presenting evidence for your belief to convince us?

Actually though, we do in fact have a great deal of evidence that  biological, intellectual, and social evolution occurs by natural processes and can specify in significant detail the mechanism by which they occur.   On the other hand you have NO evidence that your super natural entity (aka God) exists nor do you have any details of the supernatural processes used in creating the universe.  You simply assert your God exists, that he created the universe including man, and he does what he does somehow. 

Mere assertion proves nothing but that you are more than willing to increase the entropy of the universe without providing any value for any living being – including yourself.

Yes, the divorce courts aren’t easy on men. But it’s becoming more and more common for wives to outearn their husbands in which case SHE has to pay alimony. This is what happened to my cousin. She’s paying her ex-husband alimony. She’s an attorney and he’s a college professor. Although he has a distinguished job working for a good university, it’s not nearly as lucrative as law. She earns almost twice as much as he does. But I do agree that, yes, men usually come out loosing after a divorce.

Women, on the other hand, can also be victims of the court system just like men are with divorce. How often do you hear about a woman raping a man? Hardly ever. How about male on female rape? All the time. In fact, rape is an extremely common crime in our country. Especially with younger people in high school and college. And even in our armed forces. But women usually lose twice – first when fall victims of rape and secondly when our judicial court system fails to provide them justice.

RAPE IS ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT CRIMES TO PROSECUTE.

The problem is that there aren’t always witnesses or evidence after a rape which means women have great difficulty proving it happened.

Some rapists use condoms and some roofie their victims so there’s no struggle. And some women out of desperation and anxiety wash all the evidence away. I still remember that story about the high school girl who was a cheerleader and was raped by the football player. She requested he be kicked off the football team which was the RIGHT choice to make, but the school refused because he was a star player and her charges were dropped for lack of evidence. She was forced to cheer him on for their school’s games. LOL That’s pretty disgusting.

I don’t believe this girl was lying because she had no reason to. In fact, her classmates made her life miserable after she accused the football player. She had every reason NOT to come forward but she did and she lost. THIS IS WHY SO MANY WOMEN KEEP QUIET.

So at the end of the day, I think WE ARE ALL VICTIMS of the courts in one way or another.

I”m pro choice, the choice to decide before the deed, not after.

But on a serious note, I would do the same thing however the child support part would have been not necessary.  I would have wanted a baby that bad and would take care the child alone.  May not even tell the father about the child, if very desperate.

“making life easier” isn’t the point.  the point is that evolution isn’t TRYING to do anything.  it has no desire.  evolution is the RESULT of natural progress.  furthermore, it’s not that progress described by evolution would attempt to make anything.  it just uses what works.  if something is good enough, i’ll continue to exist.

and it hasn’t gotten any easier? we’ve evolved larger and more efficient brains to allow for us to dominate the globe.  we have grown more and more resistant (read up on our immune system) to infection, but at the same time those agents have evolved to handle our defenses.  the ones that have not evolved quickly enough have died out.  those that have are stronger for it.  read up on the rough skinned newt.

yes we have evolved to live longer lives.  bacteria can live hours or days, many insects usually live a month or so.  dogs and cats live about a decade.  humans, elephants, and tortoises live several decades.  the further you look down this “branch” of the tree of life, the longer the lives get.  evolution.  however, keep in mind that shorter lived organisms generally have the potential to evolve faster.  longer lives aren’t always entirely beneficial (there are exceptions, of course).

we haven’t NEEDED to get by on six months without water because we’ve lived near fresh water.  your faster metabolism has allowed your body to regulate its temperature far better than reptiles, which don’t have that ability.  they do, however, go far longer without meals and water than we do.  it’s a trade off.  we don’t have to sit in the sun to keep warm, but we have to eat more.

yes, women died in childbirth (some still do) in large numbers, but on average our species multiplied faster because of the big brains that cause those women to endure so much pain/injury during childbirth.  sure, having a smaller head/brain might’ve made it easier on the women giving birth, but the children wouldn’t have been as smart.  note, though, that with these big, useful brains we’ve been able to figure out ways to DRASTICALLY decrease the mortality rates of women during childbirth.

for your “arnie” point, i’d again urge you to look up the rough skinned newt.  moreover, you don’t think our extreme ability to manipulate our resources with such skill is a great set of genes to have?  we’ve evolved a brain that is capable of understanding and applying vast amounts of knowledge.  we’ve got one hell of a (group of) arnie swartzenegger gene(s) if you ask me.

it seems like you have a limited understanding of actual evolutionary processes.  i think if you did some research on it you’d probably appreciate it more.. or at least stop hating on it so much
