We’ve recently gone through some of our most popular destinations and made some reductions to the rates. Some of the rates are now up to 50% cheaper.

If you are using the callback method of calling, the rates to these countries will be cheaper too (But may have a different percentage saving to the standard rates quoted below). If you’re using callbacks from any of these countries, you will see a rate reduction to ALL countries.

You can check out our full list of low rates here.

The general rule is if it has a colour screen, then we have a version of MO-Call for it. We like to see MO-Call as an inclusive service where 80% of mobile phone users around the world who use midrange “feature phones”, can also access cheap international calling.

Recently, we upgraded MO-Call on Java platforms to include simple access to cheap SMS and callback requests triggered by a tiny internet packet push. Both of these new features present considerable additional value for everyone, no matter what kind of phone you have.

Most of Morodo’s competitors have focused on building great apps for smartphones. Whilst we feel we have this market niche well covered, we have never lost sight of the fact that the majority of our customers cannot afford a smartphone and have a greater need for access to low-cost communication.

We highly recomend this NYTimes article on the cutting edge uses of the bog-standard mobile phone across the world:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/11/weekinreview/11giridharadas.html

The new 3g VoIP app for iPhone and iPad lets you use your 3G connection as well as Wi-Fi connections to make calls at our amazing Standard Rates. If you have a 3G plan with unlimited 3G, you’ll be able to make iPhone VoIP MO-Calls when you are out of range of Wi-Fi. Even if you can’t get a strong 3G signal and you’re outside a Wi-Fi zone, you can make crystal clear calls using the callback option.

Get it here:

http://www.mo-call.com/en/mobile-voip-sms-download/apple

We’ve also been playing with our new iPads in the office and we’re glad to tell you that MO-Call works beautifully on it. You can send SMS, request callbacks to other phones, make Wi-Fi and 3G calls (3G calls not available on the Wi-Fi only version).

We’ll be bringing more exciting updates to our iPhone applications in the very near future. Subscribe to the Blog to hear about them first!

The sources that we are getting our data from is the MO-Call rates page and Skype’s calling rates, SMS rates, and connection fees pages.

MO-Call is Cheaper Than Skype for Calls and SMS to Canada:

This week’s highlighted country is Canada and we’re proud to share that both our international calling and SMS rates to Canada are cheaper than Skype!

That means on just $1 of credit, MO-Call lets you call Canada for about 50 minutes, but only for about 40 minutes on Skype!

What are you waiting for? Get started using MO-Call today and make great savings on calls to Canada!

Avoid the Fine Print Hidden Charges with MO-Call:

Skype lists extremely competitive rates for calls to mobile and landline phones, however, many customers miss the fine print which states that they also charges a connection fee of $0.079 to all calls for non-Global Countries, or $0.039 for all Global Countries, which Canada falls under, unless a monthly subscription plan is purchased. Moreover, Skype charges an additional 15% VAT on top of the connection fee if your billing address is within the EU!

You can avoid all of these hidden costs with MO-Call, where we pride ourselves with our transparent billing, and our displayed rates are the only costs that will be charged. Moreover, we only begin billing MO-Calls after 20 seconds of a connection, so if a call isn’t successful, then no credit will be deducted from your account. Similarly, we only charges for SMS messages that are confirmed as delivered to the recipient’s Mobile Network. We desire to bring the best rates and service to our customers.

Get started using MO-Call today and avoid the hassle of dealing with hidden costs!

MO-Call currently supports 1,856 handsets- the largest range of mobile devices than any of the other mobile VoIP calling and call-back based services, and our development team is constantly working to diversify our handset coverage for MO-Call on Java, Symbian, Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile.

This week we’d like to highlight the 6 most popular BlackBerry handset devices that our MO-Call customers use, two from each of the Curve, Bold, and Storm series. BlackBerry is always on the back of our mind as we begin to roll out new features and developments, and we recently had a recent update that now allows our BlackBerry MO-Call customers to trigger callbacks via GPRS and to send international SMS text messages from their BlackBerry device. Without further ado, MO-Call, cheap international calling and SMS text messaging for BlackBerry.
