Top Ten Tuesday is hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish.
This weeks topic is: <strike>Ten</strike> Nine Book Related Problems I Have (could be serious or fun!) and I have chosen to stick with the fun side because I don't have any serious book problems. Here they are in no particular order.

- Everything is my bookmark, except a bookmark =\

- When I see a store with books in it I force my family members to go in and have a look for sales. Actually, I guess that's their problem not mine haha.

- Each time I upgrade my bookshelf I think I will finally have enough room to properly display all my books, only to find out that once again that I've failed. Problems is that I can't stop buying books.

- I CAN NOT resist a booksale.

- The oh so dreaded paper cut (ouch!).

- When my ereader battery is about to die and I'm not finished reading yet :0

- Those times when I have to hide out in the laundry room to finishing reading an exciting chapter, so I won't have any interruptions.

- Waiting on sequels (I don't think I need to elaborate on this one).

- Cover Changes because it is such a pet peeve when my covers don't match after a mid series change.
The Blood of Olympus (The Heroes of Olympus #5)
by Rick Riordan
Expected Release Date: October 7th 2014
Published by Disney-Hyperion
Hardcover, 528 pages
Add it to Goodreads
My Rating - ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯

Description (from Goodreads)

Though the Greek and Roman crew members of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen—all of them—and they're stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood—the blood of Olympus—in order to wake.

The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it "might" be able to stop a war between the two camps.

The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea's army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.

My Review

The Heroes of Olympus series was a stimulating jump into the world of mythology, and this final book in the epic Percy Jackson empire has been just as captivating, and emotionally fulfilling as I hoped it would be. Although the mythology may not be entirely correct, it was entertaining and masterfully woven into the story. Once again Rick Riordan has invaded my mind with his intricate world building and phenomenal characters. I know so much about these demigods, and love all of them.

Told from the multiple points of view of Jason, Piper, Leo, Reyna and Nico, I can honestly say that I exceptionally enjoyed Nico's chapters in the story the most. I've loved watching his character grow and his journey of self discovery. Since Nico has always been so dark, it was a pleasant change being able to experience his more vulnerable side. Unfortunately, Percy wasn't a front runner in the story, neither was Annabeth, this did disappoint me. I've been following Percy's adventures for years and would have preferred if he had a bigger role in the final book. Two other characters that didn't get anytime in the book were Hazel and Frank, they were in the story but didn't get any chapters told from their point of view.

Furthermore, if you want to know if these special demigods finally fulfill the prophecy of the seven, and defeat Gaea and her giants, you will need to read it for yourself to find out.

I give this a 4 out of 5 stars.

It has been a few months since I've done a twitter #FF, but I have done a couple before. Normally I just mention my favourite blogs or bookstores. I haven't really thought about upsetting any of my followers by mentioning other tweeps over them. Possibly because not getting mentioned on someone else's follow Friday has never left me with any neglected or jealous feelings. If I have made someone sad, I'm super sorry.

Description (from Goodreads)

A sumptuous and epically told love story inspired by A Thousand and One Nights

Every dawn brings horror to a different family in a land ruled by a killer. Khalid, the eighteen-year-old Caliph of Khorasan, takes a new bride each night only to have her executed at sunrise. So it is a suspicious surprise when sixteen-year-old Shahrzad volunteers to marry Khalid. But she does so with a clever plan to stay alive and exact revenge on the Caliph for the murder of her best friend and countless other girls. Shazi's wit and will, indeed, get her through to the dawn that no others have seen, but with a catch . . . she’s falling in love with the very boy who killed her dearest friend.

To ensure her safety from the obviously dangerous and very powerful Wells family, Libby’s father helps newly orphaned Frances assume Libby’s identity. Frances has spent years in hiding, transforming herself into Libby, and she can no longer allow the people who murdered her entire family and Libby to get away with it. After years of careful plotting, she’s ready to set her revenge plans into motion—even if it means taking down the boy she’d once been in love with: the senator’s son.

She discovers that the murderous boy-king is not all that he seems and neither are the deaths of so many girls. Shazi is determined to uncover the reason for the murders and to break the cycle once and for all.
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish
Romances aren't really my thing anymore. I went threw a huge faze when I was a teenager, so I think I've got my fill. However, every so often I do get that inkling for something mushy. There are unfortunately a few things that turn me off of the genre, which leads me to This weeks Topic:

Top Three Things I Dislike When It Comes To Romances.

- Insta Love

I can't stand it when characters conveniently and unrealistically fall madly in love within the first few chapters. I much prefer to read how they fell in love over a period of time.

- Repetitiveness

It all starts to bleed into the same thing eventually. Boy meets girl, they fall in love, have a fight, fall back in love. Then they get married and have babies. At least this is my experience with adult romances.

- Cheesy Covers

The #1 thing I dislike the most about romance novels are that the majority of them have the most horrid covers. This is also something I've mainly noticed with adult romances.

What do you think of my list this week. Leave me a comment and share your link so I can check out your top ten.

Ella Shepherd has dedicated her life to using her unique gift—the ability to enter people’s dreams and memories using technology developed by her mother—to help others relive their happy memories.

But not all is at it seems.

Ella starts seeing impossible things—images of her dead father, warnings of who she cannot trust. Her government recruits her to spy on a rebel group, using her ability to experience—and influence—the memories of traitors. But the leader of the rebels claims they used to be in love—even though Ella’s never met him before in her life. Which can only mean one thing…

Someone’s altered her memory.

Ella’s gift is enough to overthrow a corrupt government or crush a growing rebel group. She is the key to stopping a war she didn’t even know was happening. But if someone else has been inside Ella’s head, she cannot trust her own memories, thoughts, or feelings.

So who can she trust?

My Review

When I first discovered that this book was a spinoff of the Across the Universe series I was tremendously excited. Being a fan of Beth Revis' series, I wanted to continue on with the intriguing world she had previously created. Unfortunately, I only read of two similarities between the books, and it was just a mere mention of Godspeed and the FXR. This was disappointing to me, however, the book was still positively fabulous.

The world building was sci-fi enriched with fascinating futuristic technology, a complex story line, and characters that were well written as well as likable. The plot was captivating and mysterious which was fluently written. Also, the pacing excellent for me. There were predictable moments, but they were easily overlooked due to the fact that it did still manage to make me ask questions, so I was not bored at any moment.

In conclusion I will add that if you would be interested in a futuristic sci-fi that is a thought provoking journey of self discovery, then The Body Electric is the book for you.

I give this 4 out of 5 stars.

Do you read more than 1 book at a time, and if so, how, like a certain amount of pages per book before moving on to the next one in the queue? - Suggested by Words I Write Crazy.

A few years ago I would have answered this question with a firm no, but after I became a blogger my reading habits slowly changed. At first I let myself have two books on the go, normally a physical and an ebook. Then as I started reading on more platforms ie. my phone, tablet etc. I added another to the pile. Shortly after that I discovered audiobooks =D.

As of right now I have 3 books that I'm currently reading.
#1 Grave Mercy - Audiobook
#2 The Darkest Minds - Paperback
#3 The Fire Sermon - ebook

So to answer the question, yes I do read more then one book at a time =) I don't have any special way that I read them. Its more like which device is closer haha. How about you?

Description (from Goodreads)

A delicious tale of revenge and identity from Carrie Ryan, the bestselling author of The Forest of Hands and Teeth

In the wake of the deadly devastation of luxury yacht Persephone, just three souls remain to tell its story—and two of them are lying. Only Frances Mace, rescued from the ocean after torturous days adrift with her dying friend Libby, knows that the Persephone wasn’t sunk by a rogue wave as survivors Senator Wells and his son are claiming—it was attacked.

The game has just begun, and Frances is not only playing dirty, she's playing to win.
My Rating ✯ ✯ ✯ ½

Description

A new literary, sci-fi thriller from acclaimed author Megan Miranda.

With the science of soul-fingerprinting a reality, Alina Chase has spent her entire life imprisoned for the crimes her past-self committed. In an attempt to clear her name, Alina unintentionally trades one prison for another when she escapes, aided by a group of teens whose intentions and motivations are a mystery to her. As she gets to know one of the boys, sparks fly, and Alina believes she may finally be able to trust someone. But when she uncovers clues left behind from her past life that only she can decipher, secrets begin to unravel. Alina must figure out whether she’s more than the soul she inherited, or if she’s fated to repeat the past.

This compelling story will leave readers wondering if this fictional world could become a reality.

My Review

Set in a world where reincarnation is a reality and the technology to learn who you were in a past life was a possibility with soul printing. Alina is kept prisoner, confined in isolation due to crimes her soul had committed in a past life. Alina's soul previously belonged to one of the most notorious criminals of her worlds time, and no one wanted to risk the possibility that Alina would channel her previous self. So much to the publics pleasure, she was taken away from her parents and imprisoned as an infant. That is until a group of teens aid her in an daring escape. Not knowing what their intentions were for her, she went with them anyway, glad for a chance to finally break free.

Alina was an intelligent 17 year old who was desperate to be nothing like her past self, and always trying to escape the image that people expected of her. She was constantly monitored and the staff at her compound was always changing so she couldn't win over anyone's sympathy or make friends. I completely understand why she would jump at the chance to leave her prison without thinking about the consequences first. She was understandably lonely. I truly felt for her character because all she wanted was to be able to live a normal life - her own life.

Unfortunately, her rescuers had different intentions for her. As their motivations became more obvious Alina began to think in a whole new way. Her self discoveries lead to a well hidden secret, which was clever and believable. As much as I would have liked to have experienced more of the Sci fi elements I found the mystery to be intriguing enough to dismiss that feeling.

Soulprint was an exciting futuristic read that was shrouded in secrecy, once I started reading it was hard to stop. Certainly a fast paced read that could easily be finished in one or two sittings.

Furthermore, I believe this is a novel that many different booklovers could enjoy. with its thrilling mystery, a small helping of romance, and fascinating sci-fi elements there is something for everyone. Also, I was delighted with the interesting use of technology and hacking. Soul printing and reincarnation was something I have not experienced before and I highly enjoyed wondering if our past lives could influence who we are today.

I give this a 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

The Darkest Minds, Never Fade, & In The Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken
Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor

I was so pumped to get The Darkest Minds series! I heard superb reviews and had it recommended to me by many bloggers. I've started the first book and I'm quite enjoying it. Another series I keep getting recommended is the Daughters of Smoke and Bone series. I own the first book and was happy to receive the second, now I just need Dreams of Gods and Monsters.
Worlds Collide & New World Order by S.M. McEachern
Seeker by Arwen Elys Dayton

I loved Sunset Rising, the first book in S. M. McEachern's series, so I was ecstatic when the author's publicist contacted me asking if I would like to review the last two books in the series. I said yes, of course!! I discovered Seeker on NetGalley and look forward to starting it soon.

What do you think of my new goodies? If you've gotten some new treasures lately or have read any of the books I have listed, fill me in on your thoughts. Thanks so much for reading ♥
Hydro (Aurelia Series, #1)
by A.C. Waltower
Goodreads
My Rating - ✯ ✯ ✯

Description

The year is 2091. 75 years ago, a nuclear war desolated Earth. The top 2% of the world fled to Hydro, a compound on the Moon. The rest of the population were left trying to survive on a barren Earth.

Seventeen-year-old Blake lives on Earth with his dad and little brother. When Blake’s father is given the grave sentence of terminal cancer, Blake decides to save his dad by sneaking onto Hydro and making a deal with Hydro’s council. In exchange for them saving his dad, he will give them the answer to everyone’s problem; the location of a new habitable planet.

The unexpected and unannounced arrival of Blake leaves many citizens with mixed feelings, none more confusing than those of sixteen-year-old Ziva. The more she learns about Blake and where he comes from, the more she learns that not everything she is being told about the situation on Earth in true, including those told by her beloved grandfather. Why has he been lying to her? And more importantly what is he hiding from her?

My Review

After the Earth and all its inhabitants were almost eradicated by nuclear WW3, Blake must live during a horrifying time in Earth's future. There was barely any food, the air was difficult to breathe, and mother nature had become downright dangerous. Finding a new place to live was the only hope of surviving. Unfortunately, the rebel leader Advicii thought the same way, and enslaved Blake's sick father (along with him and his brother), and forces him to constantly work, fearing he would die before finding a new planet.

This is what I enjoyed about this novel.
- Blake. The lengths that he went to on just the hope of curing his father was tremendously brave. Not knowing if he would even physically survive the trip, he went to the only place where he could possibly find help, the Moon.
- The overall plot was intriguing. People living in a war torn world, searching for a place to find a new beginning, was something that definitely peaked this Sci fi lovers interest.

This book was also told from Ziva's point of view, and her story begins on the Moon. I liked Ziva. Although, while she seemed like a knowledgeable individual, she was incredibly gullible. Ziva was completely misinformed with the answers she received concerning the ongoing cleanup of Earth. She too easily accepted what she was told. Especially since her family was the power family living on Hydro. This slightly agitated me.

Now for what I disliked about this novel.
- Blake's brother, his character was odd. Which is all I can say without spoiling the role he plays.
- Characters and the setting were underdeveloped.
- Editing. For the most part spelling errors, etc is not something I tend to notice. However, with this book I noticed numerous errors.

Furthermore, I did find Hydro to be a pleasant read, and am curious how the story will continue in the next installment.
I give this a 3 out of 5 stars.

Hello to all you book enthusiasts! It has been an entire month since I last set down to write a new post! You may have noticed that although I may have been publishing posts on my blog, I haven't been around. Like at all. I took a much needed rest to focus on what was happening in my life. Enjoying the holiday as well as attempting to get caught up on end of the year stuff, and ringing in the new year with family and friends. I must mention that participating in the Blog Ahead Challenge was an incredibly smart move on my part. I would have been stressing out over the lack of activity on the blog if I didn't have these scheduled posts. I definitely would have had a difficult time fully enjoying my break.

I would like to use this moment to thank each and every one of my fabulous readers for continuing to read and comment on my posts even though I have not been responsive in any way whatsoever. Sorry I have been such a flake :-(. I especially would like to send a virtual hug to Eileen (CatBookPin), Tracy (Cornerfolds), Jessica (A Great Read), Anna (Enchanted by YA), Cassi (My Thoughts...Literally!) and Ailyn (Penny For My Thoughts). Each of these ladies are the absolute best! Thanks so much for sticking with me =D.

Although I haven't been blogging, I never stopped reading (I hope you're not surprised), so there will not be a shortage of reviews. The only problem is that I am really behind on writing my first drafts =/. There are 8 reviews floating around in my head with nothing on paper (yikes!). However, once I get started writing it's hard to stop. I should be able to tackle them in the next few days. I will also be visiting blogs and catching up on everything I've missed.

Description (from Goodreads)

Once, only her own life hung in the balance.

Oddly enough, when Yelena was a poison taster, her life was simpler. But she'd survived to become a vital part of the balance of power between rival countries Ixia and Sitia. Now she uses her magic to keep the peace in both lands and protect her relationship with Valek.

Suddenly, though, they are beset on all sides by those vying for power through politics and intrigue. Valek's job - and his life - are in danger. As Yelena tries to uncover the scope of these plots, she faces a new challenge: her magic is blocked. She must keep that a secret - or her enemies will discover just how vulnerable she really is - while searching for who or what is responsible for neutralizing her powers.

Yes, the days of tasting poisons were much simpler. And certainly not as dangerous

Why I Want To Read It

I really enjoyed this author's Study series, and I'm very interested in discovering Yelena's new adventure. It has been a few years since I've read the books but Marie V. Snyder is such an excellent writer I'm sure I will easily get sucked back into Yelena and Valek's world.
My Rating - ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯

Description

With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her.

The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu. Tahereh Mafi has created a captivating and original story that combines the best of dystopian and paranormal, and was praised by Publishers Weekly as “a gripping read from an author who’s not afraid to take risks.” Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and satisfying end.

My Review

Following a near death experience Juliette looks deep inside and realizes that she doesn't want to be a quiet, timid girl afraid to defend herself any longer. I glad she was finally able to gain confidence, and conquer those inner demons she had been fighting all her life. This pleased me immensely because Juliette's low self esteem was becoming redundant and tiresome. Her character was exceptionally written. I could genuinely feel her emotions and her inner torment.

I loved Warner even more so in this novel. He had self-control, confidence, and ambition. Although, when he spent time with Juliette he behaved in a completely different manner. He 100% believed in Juliet, and that she was capable of extraordinary thing's. It was due to Warner's positive reactions concerning her abilities that Juliet finally managed to embrace the talents she was born with. Also, I just have to mention that Kenji was absolutely fabulous! He was a spectacular friend and helped her work through some issues. He also livened up the story by adding his humorous personality.

The love triangle between Juliette, Warner and Adam was intense and thrilling. I couldn't get enough of it! For me it really spiced up the story. I do still like Adam, however after discovering his true thoughts of Juliette inn Fracture Me, I don't feel the same way I did about him as I did in Shatter Me.

Furthermore, I want to add that this was a phenomenal series! There is emotion, action, mystery and a little steamy romance. I loved this book a tremendous amount and I highly recommend it.

I give this a 5 out of 5 stars

Description (from Goodreads)

Rhiannon Thomas's dazzling debut novel is a spellbinding reimagining of Sleeping Beauty and what happens after happily ever after.

One hundred years after falling asleep, Princess Aurora wakes up to the kiss of a handsome prince and a broken kingdom that has been dreaming of her return. All the books say that she should be living happily ever after. But as Aurora understands all too well, the truth is nothing like the fairy tale.

Her family is long dead. Her "true love" is a kind stranger. And her whole life has been planned out by political foes while she slept.

As Aurora struggles to make sense of her new world, she begins to fear that the curse has left its mark on her, a fiery and dangerous thing that might be as wicked as the witch who once ensnared her. With her wedding day drawing near, Aurora must make the ultimate decision on how to save her kingdom: marry the prince or run.

Rhiannon Thomas weaves together vivid scenes of action, romance, and gorgeous gowns to reveal a richly imagined world … andSleeping Beauty as she’s never been seen before.

Why I Want To Read It

I discovered this book while looking through HarperCollins winter 2015 catalogue, and it was love at first sight ♥ It's no secret that I have been going through a big retellings faze and this got moved to the top of my debut authors of 2015 TBR. I have not yet read a retelling of Sleeping Beauty so I'm excited to dive into A Wicked Thing.
Narrated by Neil Kaplan
My Rating - ✯ ✯ ✯

Description

Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books—but we are real.

Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. Now all of us are running. Spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. we have lived among you without you knowing.

But they know.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They killed them all.

I am Number Four.

I am next.

My Review

I was interested in reading this book since the movie was first released a few years ago. The sci-fi elements in the movie intrigued me, which had me wanting to give the series a shot. Although this book did in fact have a mysterious and captivating concept, I was disappointed that a large chunk of the book was about bullies, crushes, and general high school drama.

Unfortunately, I wasn't fond of the MC John Smith/4. Although he had interesting legacies (alien powers), and an intense back story, he was rather dull. On the bright side, Andre was a fantastic, loyal man, and I adored Bernie Kozar! The world building was there, and even though I didn't like the MC there were still interesting and believable characters present in the book. Which also included Sarah and Sam.

Consequently, there was a tremendous amount of description in the fight scenes. At times I would be anxious for it to just end. However, because I did still like the concept of the novel, I give this a 3 out of 5 stars.
My Rating - ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯

Description

Alyssa Gardner has been down the rabbit hole and faced the bandersnatch. She saved the life of Jeb, the guy she loves, and escaped the machinations of the disturbingly seductive Morpheus and the vindictive Queen Red. Now all she has to do is graduate high school and make it through prom so she can attend the prestigious art school in London she's always dreamed of.

That would be easier without her mother, freshly released from an asylum, acting overly protective and suspicious. And it would be much simpler if the mysterious Morpheus didn’t show up for school one day to tempt her with another dangerous quest in the dark, challenging Wonderland—where she (partly) belongs.

As prom and graduation creep closer, Alyssa juggles Morpheus’s unsettling presence in her real world with trying to tell Jeb the truth about a past he’s forgotten. Glimpses of Wonderland start to bleed through her art and into her world in very disturbing ways, and Morpheus warns that Queen Red won’t be far behind.

If Alyssa stays in the human realm, she could endanger Jeb, her parents, and everyone she loves. But if she steps through the rabbit hole again, she'll face a deadly battle that could cost more than just her head.

My Review

Since Alyssa refuses to return to Wonderland on her own, Morpheus makes an appearance in the human realm with his special way of trying to convince her that she belongs on the throne. That her coming back to Wonderland is the only way to stop Red from reclaiming the throne for herself. Alyssa has tried to convince herself that she would rather just forget that chapter of her life, and move away with Jeb, to live happily ever after. However, even she can't ignore the signs of Red's return forever.

To begin I will note that you will not find one of Morpheus' supporters here. I suppose he is okay at times, but consequently I find him to be extremely arrogant. He's also pushy, and an instigator. Plus, there's the fact that he's vindictive, and can be cruel. Sorry to any team Morpheus fans, I'm just not one of you. I prefer Jeb. He loves Alyssa for who she is, not who she could become, like Morpheus does. However, just like during the ending of Splintered (book #1), Morpheus did exhibit a few decent qualities that softened my dislike for his character.

Alyssa's parents play a significant role in this story. Quite honestly, it was the elements that Allison and Tom merged into the storyline that was my favorite aspect. I was thrilled to discover some of Allison's own experiences in Wonderland, and learn how she met Alyssa's father. Something else about this novel that intrigued me was Alyssa's vivid dreams of a childhood moment that she shared with Morpheus.

Although the story started out slowly, around halfway through it turned into a captivating page turner, shrouded in mystery. A fantastic sequel to the Splintered series! Furthermore, if you like stories about retellings then you should definitely check out the series.
I give this a 4 out of 5 stars.

I could not resist signing up for this one last challenge in 2014. Especially since this challenge has a fantastic premise. No matter what our religion or family traditions are, we do have one thing in common, we are all bloggers. So let’s make it our own holiday and for the next 6 days let's celebrate Blogmas =D

Our family traditions are simple. Leading up to Christmas, my daughter and I make yummy chocolate truffles to give to our friends. I do the rest of my baking in one crazy day at my sister in-law's with all the kiddos, it's a lot of fun. On Christmas eve every year, I insist that we watch Mickey's Christmas Carol together, just like I did when I was a little girl. These may be simple things but it's these special moments together that are my favourite things about Christmas. What are your holiday traditions?
The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Its purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new blogs, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog. Each week bloggers answer a different question.

This week's question is:

Do you write a review for every book you read or only review copies from publishers?

I write reviews for every book that I read. Even novellas. Although those reviews are normally quite a bit shorter then my regular reviews. I like to share my thoughts on every book that I read. Which is the main reason why I began blogging in the first place.

I could not resist signing up for this one last challenge in 2014. Especially since this challenge has a fantastic premise. No matter what our religion or family traditions are, we do have one thing in common, we are all bloggers. So let’s make it our own holiday and for the next 9 days let's celebrate Blogmas =D

Here are my top 3 choices for characters that would be on Santa's nice list.

Kenji - Shatter Me
Roar - Under the Never Sky
Jellia - Dorothy Must Die

Something these characters all have in common is their ability to be a great friend. Sounds corny i know, but each of them snuggled right into my heart. They' re all completely trustworthy, and not afraid to tell you how it really is. Oh, they are all also secondary characters.

What are your favorite characters that you KNOW would be on the nice list?

My Rating - ✯ ✯ ✯

Description

An original ebook-only novella in the Splintered series, told from the points of view of both Jeb and Morpheus. Morpheus wants to know more about his rival for Alyssa's affections, so he digs into Jeb's memories of his time in Wonderland. But he may be surprised by what he finds.

This brand-new story and perspective from A.G. Howard's dark, magical world stands alone, but also provides a tantalizing glimpse of what's to come in Unhinged, the sequel to Splintered.

My Review

*Beware spoilers from Splintered*

The Moth in the Mirror is about Morpheus exploring Jeb's memories in an attempt to discover the secret to winning Alyssa's affection. The novella consists of three different scenes. Each set during Splintered, when Jeb and Alyssa were separated. The experience's are told from Jeb's POV, and the reader does learn something new.

The interesting part of the story for this reader were the scenes that led up to Jeb being locked in the jabberlock box. It was a pleasure to read about this moment. I loved discovering what was going on in his head at the time. It was emotional and beautiful to understand how deep his feelings are for Alyssa. This definitely reinforced my love for Jeb. Also, in my mistrust of Morpheus.

In conclusion, If you are a fan of the series, you will likely enjoy hearing Jeb's side of the story.

I give this a 3 out of 5 stars.
