Rumors that Facebook is working on its own smartphone to compete against Apple and Google have been circulating for what feels like forever, but a new report from The New York Times says the social network is still at it. Reportedly, Facebook has quietly hired a team of hardware engineers with backgrounds in developing smartphones and mobile devices to help it create a smartphone of its own.

WSJ: Apple to use 4-inch display in next-generation iPhone

According to The Wall Street Journal and its infamous "people familiar with the matter," Apple has ordered larger smartphone displays from Asian component suppliers that will be used in the next iPhone. Reportedly, the larger screens measure 4 inches diagonally, which is bigger than the 3.5-inch screen that the iPhone has had since 2007.

The DROID Incredible 4G LTE is the first LTE smartphone in the Incredible line, and it borrows a lot, but not all, of the features of the HTC One S.

Apple's next iPad, expected to be announced later today, may come with some revolutionary touchscreen technology, if a report from Pocket-lint is to be believed. Pocket-lint spent some time at Mobile World Congress with Senseg, a maker of haptic touchscreen technology that gives flat displays a textured feel, and was able to suss out some comments that leads them to believe Senseg worked with Apple on its latest tablet.

Mozilla has been talking about its Boot 2 Gecko mobile operating system for some time, but it hasn't shown it in off public until now at Mobile World Congress 2012. The Boot 2 Gecko OS is entirely open source and its interface is built with HTML5 and CSS web standards, making it extremely customizable.
