A good credit score will increase your chances of getting a loan approved. Credit Card companies and lenders check for the ‘credit-worthiness’ of borrowers before lending them money.

Your credit score needs to be more than 600 to qualify as good. Banks are willing to take the risk of lending you high amounts of money and offer better interest rates, but only if your credit report is sound.

You need to know your present scores before deciding to improve it. Most companies depend on FICO (Fair Isaac Company) before making complex financial decisions. FICO calculates your credit card scores, which can be obtained by paying an amount as fees. However, starting from 2011, you can get a free copy of your credit score.

Here are some simple ways to increase your credit score:

• Meet the deadlines for paying your bills. This is the most basic rule to a stable financial record. Late payments reflect badly on your credit history.
• Avoid balances on your credit card. If you have transferred your balance to another credit card, keep the first one open even if you don’t use it anymore.
• Minimise the amount of outstanding debts. Try to minimise the use of your credit cards. Make a list of all your debt accounts with the help of information provided by your credit report. Check statements or go online to determine the amount of debt you need to pay along with the interest. Make a plan to pay these debts and follow it strictly, giving more priority to debts with high interest rates and then followed by the low interest rate debts.
• Check for errors in your credit history. Typically, when two people have the same name, their credit card activities tend to mix up. However, it’s not easy to remove slips from the report. So be calm, patient and insistent.
• Be persistent; don’t give up on things if they are not moving fast. It takes time and attention to increase the credit score. There are no shortcuts.
• Remember, it is not the credit score that you rebuild, but the credit history. It takes years to make these changes happen and turn each negative entry into positive.

With a good credit score, you shall be able to get big loans sanctioned. You can apply for a home loan or other loans confidently when your credit score is satisfactory. It is better to go for a PPI policy with loans. For further details on its terms and conditions, you can get in touch with a PPI Claim back firm.

In a world where it seems Apple has dominated, leaving its fellow fruit foe struggling to keep up the pace, we look into some of the best handsets that BlackBerry has released and what they offer.
A solid alternative, and offering some truly great pieces of kit – BlackBerry has had its well documented ups and downs, but some of the ups truly were wonderful phones.

We’ve picked out 4 of the best in the more recent releases from BlackBerry and we’ve looked into just what makes them the best of the bunch. For anyone struggling to choose between the handset giants, for those looking for an alternative to the most well known, we highly recommend giving these handsets a consideration.

BlackBerry Torch 9810
PAYG from £406 (Prepay Mania)
The updated version of the original Torch model is a great little handset with a good keyboard and a very responsive screen. The design is smart and sleek and works well as a personal or business handset (or even a combination of the both).

Features:
- 3.2 inch touchscreen
- Integrated slide QWERTY keyboard
- 5 megapixel camera
- 8GB memory space

BlackBerry Bold 9790
PAY MONTHLY from £29 (Virgin Mobile)

Despite the fact the screen of the Bold 9790 is annoyingly plastic (we’d have preferred a glass screen) it is still a good looking phone. Although a little plain, the functionality and simplicity of this handset offer everything many look for in a smartphone- ease of use. As well as a touchscreen, the built in QWERTY handset works a treat.

Features:
- QWERTY keyboard
- BlackBerry OS7
- 1GHz Marvel processor
- 2.45 inch screen (touchscreen)

BlackBerry Curve 9380
PAYG from £99.99 (Orange)

An all touchscreen model with great performance. This device packs a lot in for a smaller model phone. With a 3.2 inch screen, this is a small phone, which makes up for its size in what it offers. There is a great camera as well as social integration having been put at the top of the list. Perfect for younger users who want a phone they can be on constantly – not to mention it is one of the cheaper handsets to get your paws on.

Features:
- Clear and bright screen
- Social integration works well
- Cheaper than many other BB models.

BlackBerry Curve 9360
PAYG from £143 (O2)
This handset is slim, sleek and offers all the basic features you’d expect from a decent smartphone. When we use the term basic, we mean it in every positive sense of the word. Although it doesn’t offer “the best” in features, what it does offer is a guarantee to perform and it doesn’t let down.

Features:

- BlackBerry OS7
- Slim handset
- Good browser

We’re sure that one of the above models will leave you satisfied you made the right choice. All you’ve got to do now it order, remove it from its protective packaging and get yourself immersed in the world of BB!

In the start of this month we did go through some rumors about a next generation iPhone that might include a 4 inch 2272×1280 beyond Retina IGZO display with a pixel density of 652ppi. Now, those rumors are almost near to becoming reality.

According to a report from DigiTimes: The sources said Apple is in further discussions with Sharp over IGZO panel production capacity estimates for 2013 and is also inquiring about whether AU Optronics’ (AUO) L5C line could be used to produce the technology.

DigiTimes did not reveal sources were besides adding that they were “industry sources”. Nevertheless, Sharp has been working on IGZO for a while now and has even received an investment from Qualcomm to help with the development.

For those who do not know what IGZO is? Indium gallium zinc oxide, otherwise known as IGZO, is a material that will replace silicon as the active layer of a display. Electrons move up to 40 times faster in IGZO which would allow for many more pixels, less touch interference and less transistor refreshing.

To make things clear, IGZO displays particularly aim to:

use less power

be more accurate and sensitive in terms of touch

pack more pixels into the same space

Are you an Apple fan and are as equally excited as I am to see where IGZO and other new display technologies will take devices in the future? Do share your views on the comments tab below.

When the HTC HD2 really landed on the market it was just a simple Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone, nothing that special or worth going for. The HD2 has continued to be known as a device that was not only hack able, but one that allowed modders to push latest software onto the unit.

The HTC HD2 not only allowed Windows Mobile 6.5 over to Windows Phone 7 through efforts of hacking, but it was also recently shown off by Cotulla running Windows Phone 8. While the HTC HD2 mostly does not run these modern operating systems amazingly fast, the fact that it can run them at all is fascinating.

Windows RT

Are you impressed with the HTC HD2 running both Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 8? What do you think about the Windows RT, the ARM-version of Windows 8? No points for guessing, however Cotulla has now returned with a new mod that allows Windows RT to be installed onto the HD2.

It looks quite cool on the device, considering that RT was not actually meant for big screens. For those who are looking for something less Microsoft-ish, there have also been hacking efforts in the past that put Android onto the unit as well.

So what is the secret to the hacking success of HD2? Part of it is done due to some hackers who are highly dedicated and talented. The second reason is that its Qualcomm Chip and the rest of the hardware is all very hack friendly and highly supportable with a big range of operating systems.

Did you ever own an old HD2 handset? Have you tried any related projects to give the device renewed life?

The iPad 4 chose to release this handset with a 9.7 inch LED-backlit IPS TFT, capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels and pixel density of 264 ppi. On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab 8 comes with a whopping 7.0 inch PLS LCD capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels and a pixel density of 170 ppi. The iPad screen is bigger and sharper than the one on the new Galaxy Tab 2.

The iPad 4 comes with a 5 Megapixel camera of 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution featuring autofocus also record videos of 1080P format with speed of 30fps. On the other hand, The Galaxy Tab 2 equips top class 3.2 Megapixel cameras of 2048 x 1536 resolutions without autofocus and LED flash. The iPad 4 has a better secondary camera of 1.2 megapixels than Galaxy Tab 2 of VGA megapixels.

The Apple iPad 4 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 are similar to each other offering excellent features, latest technology and style. We can therefore come to a conclusion saying that two tablets are each unique and bring an enormous amount of features to the table. I would recommend the iPad 4 to the more casual tablet user, someone who wants a simple and easy to use tablet.

BlackBerry 10 is almost on its way, with a release date of January 30th. While BB10 will enter in a new era for RIM, that does not mean the company is intending to jump ship from Blackberry 7 totally.

According to recent rumors, RIM will lower prices on existing BB7 handsets substantially after the release of their latest OS. The idea is to continue to establish their older operating system for developing markets in Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America and neighboring areas.

The move is identical to what Microsoft is attempting to do with Windows Phone 7.x in rising markets and parts of Asia, including an aggressive move on China.

More and more rising markets are finding interest in smartphones, making it important potential area of growth for Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry.

China has always been known as a place to grab low cost smartphones, but that is applicable only in terms of domestically made phones right? Well that is not true anymore as Nokia’s plans for the Lumia 920T have materialized.

At present Chinese smartphone users are expected to purchase their devices straightforward from the beginning and pay for what they use on a monthly basis, this has led to some amazing phones arriving on the mainland at very affordable prices. However, international participants have been targeting the market and look to grab their share with promoted devices.

Nokia Lumia 920T

This is the plan of Nokia anyway, and they are looking to get hold of a huge share of the market with the Windows powered Lumia 920T, with retail price beginning at just 1 Yuan ($0.16). Of course customers will then be expected to pay a monthly fee for the device, but 1 Yuan which is less than the price of a shopping bag is definitely going to be a hard agreement to a process.

The only problem associated with the offer seems to be with the supply chain of the Lumia 920T. Considering the shortages of stock that have isolated the international Lumia 920, will the same situation occur with the Chinese variant? Only time can say.

The lack of apps is one of the main reasons why the BlackBerry platform has decreased in strength in recent years. On the other hand, operating systems such as iOS and Android continue to grow their selection, while Blackberry has fallen behind. RIM is looking forward to improve their performance with the upcoming BlackBerry 10 platform and that’s why they promised it would launch with at least 70,000 apps. How are they going to get there?

Research in Motion has declared a virtual event called Android Port-A-Thon. The concept here is to make developers to transfer their Android apps over to BlackBerry 10 and RIM is willing to pay you to do it. RIM will pay you a good amount of $100, for every paid app that is successfully transferred and approved. That is per app, up to a maximum of 20 apps per vendor, great isn’t it?

RIM to Reward BB10 Devs

Moreover, if you are able to successfully port at least 5 apps, you will me entered into a draw to win a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device. They have 100 pieces of those to give away. Every approved app that you submit over 5, will increase your chance to win as you get one extra entry per app. Therefore, if you successfully hit the maximum of 20 apps, you will earn yourself a handful of $2000 along with 16 entries into the Dev Alpha Device draw.

There are more details available in the BlackBerry Developer Blog, including information on the app porting process from Android. There are links, guides, tools and much more. January 11 is when the Android Port-A-Thon starts at 12pm EST and runs for 36 hours. You must log in and port during that time to grab the rewards.

For all those who are looking to get hold on a Google Nexus 10 for the holidays, unfortunately there is some bad news as it looks like you won’t be able to grab one in time.

The Google Nexus 10 was listed on Staples website yesterday and has been hurt with the sold out curse. Walmart online is also as of today showing the Nexus 10 as Sold Out.

Google Nexus 10 Supply Deficiency

This leaves us puzzled if the fundamental supply sent to retailers was enough or were there really just that many people crazy to get one. The tablet is also out of stock at the Google Play Store.

This could be looked over as good news in terms of an adequate competitor of the Apple iPad. For customers, though? This tradition of “sold out” status on Nexus items in particular is definitely getting frustrated, and it would seem manufacturers should step up supplies in advance.

However, you can try your luck over at Walmart stores, where Walmart’s website has listed the 32GB variant as available for pick-up at the store or through home delivery, but you will not be able to find it before Christmas as the earliest delivery date has been listed as December 27th.
