When Nokia announced Nokia Booklet 3G, I was the one who was most excited to get my hands on when ever I get it. Some days back I got Nokia Booklet 3G for review, it was with me for around 30 days. I use it and carried it various events like Tedx and other bloggers meet, it was so light to carry as compared to my bulky windows laptop and so easy to carry and a great portable device.

Nokia Booklet 3G comes with Windows 7 Starter, with a price tag of $299 on a 2-year AT&T wireless broadband contract or $599 without contract unsubsidized.

Since the day I got Nokia Netbook, I tested it on various things like portability factor, performance, build quality, keyboard and touch pad response and battery backup etc. Below is the detailed review on all these factors.

Portability Factor [ Score - 8/10 ] – I must say this is one the lightest netbook I have ever used, It is just 264 x 185 (with hinge) x 19.9 mm which makes it quite small and weighing just 1250 grams which makes it so light to carry it where ever you want to just like you carry a book.

Build Quality [ Score - 9/10 ] – It is something I am surprised to see, it has such a wonderful build quality which makes it hard and robust in the same time, it has aircraft-grade aluminium, much like the my macbook pro.

Keyboard Keys [ Score - 9/10 ] – Its keyboard is very nicely constructed and very much like solid just a good keyboards in macbook pro and sony viao laptops, the keyboard keys are nicely spaced – although the shift key is quite small but of adequate size when you compare it with other netbooks.

Touch Pad [ Score – 6/10 ] – It did not liked the touch pad much, although it provided some great features like multi touch, but when you try to use it its laggy some times when you move your fingers across the touch pad to do things quickly, but still ok to work with it.

Performance [ Score - 6/10 ] – Performance is some thing which is something I was not happy with,It has a lower-power Intel Atom Z530 instead of the usual N270 or N280 in the Booklet, and though it increases battery life, but it makes is sluggish and more slower. However the overall speed and performance is not bad as compared to the other netbooks, may it more slower due to windows 7 starter – I think it could be more faster if it has windows xp on it.

Battery Life [ Score 9/10 ] – Battery backup is some thing which is biggest Unique Selling Point according to me, yes it has a wonderful battery life which is rated at 12 hours but it lasted for around more than 7 hours when I used it for browsing and around 10 hours movie playback as we had tested.

Conclusion [ Over All Score – 8/10 ] – In short this Nokia Booklet 3G is one in the netbooks which has a beautiful design, high-resolution screen and embedded 3G connectivity — until we started waiting around for it to load Windows 7 Starter. It could a be a nice companion if you don’t expect much performance from it. However it has the best portability factor, great compact factor, great keyboard feel and an awesome build quality and these reasons are enough to buy it.

Some of the Windows Mobile freeware applications comes with a straight forward service without any complexities. One such app is BattLineSvc v1.00. BattLineSvc is a simple WM service that adds a horizontal bar along the top of the screen of your WM phones to show your current battery level.

Then use a pair of scissor or something the like and move it slowly to the right side of your device. At a distance of approx. 5 cm. the gauge should start to move. Take your device and move it with its right side near metals, and see if the gauge shows values.
