You get frustrated when you want to delete email on the Mail app on your iPhone, iPad for Gmail or Google Apps account instead of moving deleted message to the trash folder rather default Gmail will archive the message.
Good News!!! You can now configure Google Sync to delete messages on your iPhone, iPad.

How to Delete Gmail Messages on Your iPhone, iPad
Follow these simple steps to enable the "Delete Email as Trash" feature in Google Sync:

Go to m.google.com/sync (update: please note that the Google Sync features are only available only if you've setup your Gmail account as a Microsoft Exchange account)
Here you should see a list of your iOS devices that are configured to use Gmail
Tap on the relevant iOS device.
You should now see an option to Enable "Delete Email as Trash", tap to select this option.

Then tap on the save button.

That's it, now when you tap on the Delete button in the Mail app on that iOS device, Gmail should send the email to the Trash folder instead of archiving it.

Note:

If you're thought you already had this feature. You had probably set up your email account as a Gmail account rather than Microsoft Exchange account.

Google Sync features are available only via Microsoft Exchange. Google Sync via Microsoft Exchange includes features such as push, which means that the emails will be delivered to your iOS device as soon as it arrives, unlike the regular Gmail account, which retrieves emails at the frequency of every x minutes.

Reading an iPhone Serial Number

Serial numbers come in the form AABCCDDDEEF which can be read as follows:
AA = Factory and machine ID
B = Year manufactured (simplified to final digit, 2010 is 0, 2011 is 1, etc)
CC = Week of production
DDD = Unique identifier (but unrelated to UDID)
EE = Color of device
F = Size of storage, S is 16GB and T is 32GB

For example, the serial 79049XXXA4S is from factory 79 (presumably Foxconn), was manufactured in 2010 in the 49th week, and is a black 16GB iPhone 4. Some older phones have slightly different labeling, like the iPhone 3G and 3GS may refer to 16GB as “K” rather than S, but for newer hardware this should continue to be accurate unless Apple changes something.

The serial numbers of iPhone 4 CDMA and iPhone 4S are a bit different and don’t follow the same structure. Here are the three digit suffixes for iPhones that do fall into the readability list:
