Hi Colin
A 25amp ESC fed via a 10amp fuse should not have blown before the fuse. Personally I fit a large fuse in my battery lead sufficient to cover all the amps required by whatever equipment I have chosen to connect. As an added precaution I also fit a fuse between the motor and ESC rated at less than the ESC Max current. This assumes that The correct grade of wire is fitted to carry the curren

Hi Richard

This is precisley what I needed, I can easily ignore the manufacturers products, the schematic is what is important.
Thanks a million, you've helped me a lot.

Very good source of boat wiring diagrams -
admittedly all based on ACTION Electronics
hardware which isn't expensive.

There are loads of setups for different boats -
you may find the information you are after

Hi, I'm sorry if these pictures are on here already, I did search through and couldn't see any.... I'm after a few peoples opinion on colours etc :thinks: As the pictures are all black and white (grey scale) it is difficult to get the colours correct. A lot of model boats seem to be grey on the deck with white roofs, some with wooden decking, some just white and any number of variations. I'm t

Recently whilst testing motor and esc compatability, I blew an esc. The esc feed from battery was fused at 10 amps, the esc was rated at 25 amps, and the motor was a 540 pulling a 35mm 3blade prop,
Set up in an old 36" fibreglass hull, Used purely for testing.
My query is should I have fused Between motor and esc. and is it possible to it an ampmeter in my setup to check current drain.
All sugest

A real challenge of shapes and angles on first looks, but once you split it down, its not that bad.
I chose to make mine up from a piece of styrene sheet for the centre piece and simply bond a piece of styrene strip around its outer edge to add the "angle " bit. A lot of photo's were studied first, then measurements taken from the RNLI plans and transfered to some plain paper to make the templates

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the recommended book source, I'll let you know how I get on.

I also located some tutorials on uTube which I'm currently viewing and I'm sure these will be most helpful once I start to build.

Thanks again
