Stacie and Allan spent a December day wandering the woods and cuddling in a field. The couple shares a mutual love for all things Disney and had fun singing “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” from Mary Poppins during their shoot.

Wow, talk about a stunning wedding!! Captured by Christina Lilly Photography, Kristin and BJ were married on a gorgeous September day at a vast private residence in New Jersey. The couple, both writers living in L.A., had a free spirited garden party style wedding with a fresh, modern feel. This event is brimming with personal details and a lovely color palette of shades of green mixed with crisp white. I especially love the movie quotes scattered around the tables and the gorgeous moss table numbers! Be sure to read more from the bride below.

How did you and your spouse meet?

We met on the first day of high school in our first period English class. He sat in the front row. I sat in the back row. We didn’t become friends until senior year, and the first time we tried dating was in the fall after graduation. It didn’t really work out, but there was something we couldn’t let go of and so we disguised whatever it was or might be in a certain kind of friendship. Seven years later we still hadn’t figured out what we we’re to each other and finally let go. Two years after that in 2009 with 3,000 miles between us we found ourselves in a real relationship for the first time, and even though it took me by surprise at first… I guess after all it was always meant to be.

What was the inspiration for your wedding day?

Home. It meant a lot to me to let the place where we met and both grew up be a part of our wedding day. We also wanted it to be as easy for our friends and family as we could make it. It’s a small beach town in New Jersey and the chosen mode of transportation in the summer is a bike– so we put a bike rack out and it was awesome to see a bike brigade of our friends all dressed up gliding in on their beach cruisers. We got married the summer after Hurricane Sandy which made the decision to use local vendors even more important to me. Luckily our hometown is a wonderful community with a lot of hard working, talented, and generous people. Nothing about the planning or the big day felt like business, it all felt really personal and intimate even with 200 people at our wedding.

I’m always asked, “what kind of wedding did you have or what was your theme?” And my response is that it was like if Jay Gatsby had a garden party inspired by Anthropologie and Free People.

A toy store engagement session? So fun and unique! Captured by Taylor Rae Photography, Angie and Brady began their summer engagement session at the Magnifilous Toy Emporium in downtown Charleston, SC. The store owners allowed them to stay after hours, so the couple had the entire store to themselves. From hoola hooping to cuddling with giant giraffes, Angie and Brady let their fun personalities shine. Next, they headed to a few more industrial locations in downtown Charleston for edgier images. I adore the contrast in locations!

Get ready for a bright and bold wedding! Captured by Andy Rodriguez Photography, Lindsay and Scott were married on a gorgeous June day in an outdoor ceremony in Palm Springs, California. The couple chose a 50s/60s theme with a vibrant yellow and pink color palette. They also incorporated their love of music into the event with customized records, a cd of music and guitar pick keychains for each guest along with music themed table names. Since Lindsay and her bridesmaids are NFL cheerleaders, it was fitting that guests threw brightly colored mini pom-poms at the newlyweds as they walked down the aisle!

A few words from the bride:

Scott and I meet years ago at the YMCA. We would workout the same time everyday and smile at each other for MONTHS! Finally one day I got up the courage to say hello…That was the day I knew he was the one. No one had every made me feel the way he did. In fact, I called a friend of mine the very same day we met and told her “I think I just met my husband!” Eight years later we were married! Scott also surprised me a while back when the YMCA was getting redone and asked if he could buy the ab machine we met on. They of course gave it to him! He’s very romantic and thoughtful.

Our inspiration for our big day was 50s/60s retro glamour mixed with modern day glam. Palm Springs is one of our favorite places in the world and was also our first vacation together! We knew it was the perfect destination for our wedding! We choose our colors pink and yellow (two very popular 60s wedding colors) and from there we added our details. We are both huge music lovers so we definitely wanted to include that. We painted each guest a hot pink record with a center label with info about the band. It was used as a charger and also as a favor they could take home! We made a cd of songs that are meaningful throughout our relationship. Made a custom label with Led Zeppelin and a case with a stamp that read Scott and Lindsay Palm Springs 6.15.13. We also had custom keychains made out of  records in the shape of a guitar pick and had a “All you need is love” on them! Other little favors we had were, custom pink and yellow beer coozies, yellow sunglasses, candy, with striped bags to put them it! Also we made 12 different gold painted records one for each table. Each had a different band/musician. Some of our favorites: Prince, Elvis, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pearl Jam, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Bob Marley, The Doors. Other accents were chevron ( my mom handmade all the chevron napkins and table runners). Daisies were also apart of our wedding. My mom and I made at the daisy ball centerpieces! Another fun detail to our wedding was the pom-poms we had our guests throw at us as we walked back down the aisle! Our photographer got some great shots of that! Special moments other then The first dances, and cutting into the cake and the toasts were our slide show that my sister and brother-in-law made for us. It was the first time we saw it and tears were flowing. It was amazing and truly was one of the highlights from the entire night! During the reception we wanted it to feel like a concert and a real party! We transitioned from dinner to dancing by toasting to my parents (who just had their 30th wedding anniversary a few days prior) with a shot for everyone who wanted on in custom shot glasses that said “Cheers to Mike and Sally 30 years!” From that point on it was a party! Everyone was dancing and having a great time! Our band was amazing! At the end of the night we kept the concert feeling going by exiting down a row of our guest with glow sticks! We! hopped in our vintage 70s red Mercedes and my dad drove us away… It was the best!

Our wedding was by far the best day of our lives. It really was perfect to us. From the location, the sunshine, making our wedding party stay with us, my brother-in-law who we chose to marry us, dancing with my daddy to Led Zep (our favorite band) kissing for the first time as a married couple, kissing my mom before leaving on our vintage Mercedes, watching everyone dance laugh and have a great time! It was truly a night to remember for everyone who was there!

I adore all the gorgeous details in today’s modern museum wedding! Captured by Catherine Guidry Photography, Paige and Paul were married on a lovely March day in an outdoor ceremony in front of a cascading water wall in Lafayette, Louisiana. After featuring Paige and Paul’s fabulous engagement session and Paige’s modern bridal session, it is so wonderful to share their stunning wedding! The couple’s modern aesthetic fit perfectly with the chic museum location. A color palette of blue, silver and green was used throughout the decor and attire. I especially love Paige’s unique headpiece!

A few words from the bride:

We met at a house party when I was 17 and he was 20. I was a friend of one of his friends’ younger brothers.

We both love the blend of the modern and the traditional. The venue was both, so we wanted to carry those tastes throughout the wedding. We chose decor that had both modern and traditional aspects to them. Because the art museum has blue lights at night, we decided to keep all the reception decor white and silver so that the blue light would wash over it. We incorporated pops of green for color during the ceremony.

I lived just a couple blocks from Fenway Park for several years, so this session brings back  many fond memories! Captured by Deborah Zoe Photography, Marlo and Mark spent a perfect fall day at Fenway Park in Boston. Both born and raised New Englanders, the couple knew they wanted to highlight their love of Boston sports… especially once learning that the Red Sox would play in the World Series. Marlo and Mark met while studying at the University of Connecticut and became instant best friends. In addition to the shots of my old neighborhood, I also love the fall colors of the images in the park!

I love the bright, bold colors of today’s peacock inspired wedding! Captured by Angelita Esparar Photography, Abigail and Andre were married in a vibrant outdoor ceremony in Ponte Verde, Florida. With peacock feathers setting the theme, the couple incorporated rich pinks, purples and blues into their wedding decor. I especially adore the gorgeous bouquets and Abigail’s fabulous heels!

A few words from the bride:

Andre and I met through mutual friends during a scrabble game. I beat him of course! We then connected through social media and eventually had our first date. Now, every time we see a scrabble board it reminds us of how we first met. Some of our engagement pictures were taken playing scrabble.

Peacocks were my inspiration. I wanted bold colors for the wedding. Purple, pink, teal and hints of gold went perfectly with the peacock theme. I did not want to overdo the theme by having peacocks everywhere so I stuck with the colors and peacock feathers here and there. The bridesmaid dresses were also a big inspiration and I centered my designs and around them.

I adore the simple, nautical details carried throughout today’s feature wedding! Captured by Brklyn View Photography, Christa and Sean were married on a perfect August day in front of their closest friends and family in a ceremony overlooking a gorgeous lake in Missouri. The couple’s showcased their modern design aesthetic with clean, simple blue details. They designed and crafted their invitations, table numbers and ceremony flower holders with the help of an Epson paper cutter. Christa wore a lovely modern gown paired with jewelry from Tiffany’s Frank Gehry collection. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and dinner on the dock before heading out on the lake for a sunset cruise.

A few words from the bride:

Sean and I first met in architecture graduate school in NYC, but it wasn’t until a few years later that we got to know each other on a road trip with mutual school friends. We went on our first date shortly after and have been together ever since.

I grew up spending summers at my family’s vacation home at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. The lake has earned a reputation among our friends for being a great vacation spot, so it seemed like a natural location to bring our family and friends from the Midwest and Brooklyn together.

The location became our inspiration. We designed and made our invitations, decorations and flowers to reflect the lake atmosphere and our modern design sensibility. We incorporated personal touches such as having my aunt perform our ceremony and serving our favorite pies made by the local pie lady. We selected The Lodge of Four Seasons as our lake venue. The Lodge provided a great atmosphere with the classic lodge design, the waterfront lawn where we had our ceremony, and the dockside terrace where we had dinner. We decided to forego the traditional DJ and dance party and hosted the reception on a cruise boat. The boat ride was a great end to a fabulous day and allowed everyone to have a little fun on the water.
