Bio Tech firm is seeking  an experienced Technical Writer to join their Information Technology team.  Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, the successful candidate will:

•  Drive initiatives to improve information design and delivery to internal and external consumers
•  Define and produce templates / frameworks for:
•  application handoff to production (runbooks, system operations guides)
•  development lifecycle documents (requirements, design specifications, etc.)
•  end-user documentation
•  API documentation for partners
•  Collaborate with the software engineering, database, quality engineering, and infrastructure teams to capture content and produce “reference implementations” of actual documentation using the templates
 
In this role you will be expected to:

•  Work closely with the applications development, quality, database, and infrastructure teams to understand the content needs for engineering designs, operational runbooks, and partner documentation
•  Design and implement appropriate templates, style-guides, and documentation using Microsoft WORD
•  Contribute to process and content improvement initiatives across the organization
•  Create / maintain production application runbooks
•  Propose such other information delivery mechanisms as needed
•  Be the subject matter expert for your area(s), and actively promote best practices across the organization
•  Solve routine problems quickly and efficiently, requiring direction only in complex situations
•  Self-manage day-to-day task priorities and time allocations, and advise management of exceptions in a timely fashion, to ensure that you are an enabler, not a bottleneck
 
Required Qualifications:

•  Effective written and oral communication and presentation skills are a must
•  Strong attention to detail resulting in high quality deliverables
•  Experience creating Microsoft WORD templates (and macros) that can be easily used by non-writers (software engineers, QA engineers, operations and support personnel)
•  Experience with both end-user and partner (API) documentation
•  Experience defining appropriate content for application operations and support documentation (runbooks)
•  Ability to build relationships across team boundaries and foster support for new ideas and processes
 
Preferred Qualifications:

•  3 - 5 years of experience documenting application operations and troubleshooting (design / implementation of a knowledgebase is a plus)
•  3 - 5 years of experience producing software development lifecycle documentation
•  3 - 5 years of experience developing end-user documentation (experience in a CLIA/FDA regulated environment is a plus)
•  3 – 5 years of experience developing partner API documentation

As a member of our Global Training &amp; Certification team, you will design and develop Administrator and End-User training which addresses the growing user base. As a Curriculum Developer for CRM Applications, you will play a key role in designing and developing classroom and online courses for our employees, partners, and customer community. Objectives 
• Develop course content for instructor led classroom and web-delivered training. 
• Participate in the certification program as a subject-matter expert and writer. 
• Produce quality course material including: design documents, student materials, presentation slides, instructor guides, job aids, lab instructions and workbooks, assessments and certification questions, lab setup guides and course descriptions using the standard development process and templates. 
• Participate in team development projects, utilizing peer review and project management skills to drive timely completion of training products. 
• Produce and release the course material. Insure proper quality eLearning product delivery. 

Required Experience/Skills: 
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to create content for varying audiences 
• Minimum 3 years as a Curriculum Developer in a software or technology company, including content for technical and end user audiences. Preferred experience with end user applications requiring administration. 
• Experience with structured writing techniques and modular content development processes preferred. 
• Proven ability to meet project timelines with quality results. 
• Track record of innovation in developing training solutions with a portfolio of projects for various audiences. 
• Record of effective collaboration in working with product development organizations, as well as internal technical support, consulting and other customer facing resources. 
• Experience managing course development projects including scoping resource and timeline requirements and driving project plans. 
• Proven ability to design and develop successful instructor led courses. 
• Ability to perform all phases of curriculum development (research, planning, writing, organizing, managing, review cycles) 
• Use of standard publishing tools (Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat) 
• Bachelor’s degree

• Experience with: 
¿ Rapid Development Elearning tools (Articulate Studio, Captivate, Camtasia)
