The Austrian manufacturer introduced an available three-wheeled electric vehicle prototype.
In order to create the electric vehicle, the KTM engineers have teamed up with the Austrian Institute of Technology. The resulting prototype, called the KTM E3W, received a double plastic body and opening up the door.

The use lightweight materials made possible holding the concept’s weight within 500 kg.
E3W is driven by a 20-horsepower electric motor, receiving energy from a set of lithium-ion batteries.

It is said that a full charge is enough to carry two passengers at a distance of about 100 km.
The KTM really rely on the market success of its new development, which may be available for sale in 2013.

It was promised that E3W will cost about five thousand euros (a bit over seven thousand dollars).

Thus, the Austrian development will create real competition for the French electric vehicle of similar layout - Renault Twizy, which prototype was showed back in 2009.

Austrians will have to hurry: the French electric car may be on sale later this year.
 

The lithium-ion (instead of nickel-metal hydride) batteries kit is not only more compact, but provides the new product greater margin on a single charge.

In addition, Toyota's claiming that thanks to the new batteries they had almost reduced emissions to half.
Except this, there were no changes made in the power plant: the 98-horsepower gasoline engine is combined with an 80-horsepower electric motor.

The new Prius modification consumes just 2.2 liters per 100 kilometers, and can travel about 20 km on a single charge, that is a kind of record for this hybrid family.

It should be mentioned that according to the manufacturer, recovering the batteries charge from 220-volt electricity takes about 90 minutes.
The novelty will be available for sale in Europe since the spring of 2012, with simultaneous appearance in selected U.S. showrooms.

The large-scale sales of Toyota Prius PHEV on the North American market will start in 2013.
 

The new 2.2 liters volume diesel engine not only develops more Nm of torque (360), but has a reduced level of harmful emissions - Euro5 versus its predecessor’s Euro4.

The emissions amount is 266 g / km for the mid-size version of the Defender and 295 g / km for Defender 110.
It is also worth noting that due to the change of the power plant, the SUV’s top speed increased a bit. It increased to 13 km / h compared to the version of the current turbo.
Land Rover has reported that two new option packages for Defender will be available next year.

That is Comfort Pack, which includes air conditioning, audio system, power windows and central locking, as well as the Off-Road Pack. It includes ABS, special wheels and off-road MTR tires, bottom protection and hitch.

The fact that Jeep is going to revive the full-sized seven-seat SUV Grand Wagoneer was reported recently.

Today, it became known that over the next three years, Jeep is planning to release three new models at once, on platforms of the Italian group - Fiat, which owns more than half the shares of Chrysler.
In particular, at the end of 2013, as sources reported, the most compact Jeep, which is internally known as the B-Jeep, should debut.

It is planned that it will firstly be sold in North and Latin Americas.
About the same time, the Compass and Patriot models will undergo modernization – they will be replaced by a crossover on platform of the Fiat CUSW. Mono-and four-wheel drive versions are expected, and it will be for sale in both the U.S. and Europe.

By the way, the new item will share the platform with a crossover, which the Italians will release under the brand Alfa Romeo, but for the Jeep Liberty the platform will be somehow upgraded.

The extended "truck" is known as CUSW Plus, and, although it allows the use of only one drive axle, the company will offer the future Jeep Liberty in all-wheel drive version only.

The emerged version from the German tuners, received a relevant prefix to the name.

The new convertible is called Maserati GranTurismo S Black Edition.

The name is justified by a new body color - matte black with glossy patches of a few details and tinted optics.

According to certain forecasts, the Jaguar XE is going to weigh 200 pounds lighter than the XK and about 50 pounds heavier than the current generation of the Porsche Boxster, which is designated as the main competitor of the new item.
