The computers and the internet have taken a significant part of our time and lives. Many people began to forget their social life because of the unlimited possibilities the internet provides. If years ago people used to play real cards with real people, now things have changed. For example, it is a lot easier to play poker on-line. You don’t have to go out to meet your friends to play poker anymore. There are thousands of websites around the internet where you can find sites with real gamers. It is not about playing with a computer anymore. It’s about joining a website with people from around the world who spend real money for their enjoyment. There are people who win really good money from these methods of playing games.

The specialized websites around the internet provide a good interface for their users. Even if you are a beginner in playing poker or any other games, the real websites will always train you and suggest methods to improve your results and to always become a better player. It may also be a good way to enrich your knowledge and skills.

The Germans are very innovative when it comes to such virtual games. PartyPoker is one example which perfectly mainstreams the idea mentioned above. They have tournaments available and a serious membership. The users can send their complaints 24/24 to the administration of the website and the payment is secured. Of course, one cannot trust every website on the internet because there can also be found scams. One should pay attention to the registration form, to the methods of payment available, to the comments on the forums and even on the design of the website.

Doesn’t matter the way you are getting your entertainment from, it is important not to forget your real friends and be sociable outside the internet. Organize a PartyPoker with your room-mates when you are together or play it on-line when you are far away from each other.

Innovations of the cross-border systems have been presented today at Chisinau International Airport from Moldova. The new system installed at the checkpoint is called “eGate.” The passengers who want to go faster through the customs should hold a biometric passport and scan it at the newly installed device at the airport. It can be used only by the passengers older than 18.

“This device was bought from “Mühlbauer Group” Company and it costs 35,000 Euro,” informs the Border Guard Service of the Republic of Moldova in a press release.

The most important advantage of the system is that it does not involve any humans to operate the necessary duties for the cross-border process.

“Lunching this project will open new perspectives to the Moldovan citizens,” says the same body of the Government.

Moldova’s Premier Vlad Filat welcomed the new system implemented emphasizing that such measures are part of the requirements of the European Union regarding the visa-free travel regime of Moldova within the Schengen zone.

The broadcasting license of Moldova’s NIT TV was withdrawn today after a decision of the Broadcasting Coordination Council. According to the institution, the TV station did not respect the rule of opinion plurality.

The NIT team is dissatisfied with the decision of the Council.
“NIT TV station was the target of the Broadcasting Coordination Council right after the change of power in 2009 when more fines and bans to broadcast commercials were applied,” informs NIT on their official webpage.

The media outlet is biased favoring the Communist Party of Moldova. It has repeatedly been fined for non-compliance with the Broadcasting rules. One such transgression was neglecting to include Romanian subtitles with their journalistic reports and movies which were mostly broadcasted in Russian.

Seven members of the Council voted in favor while two voted against the withdrawal of the license. Corneliu Mihalache is one of the members of the Council who voted against and left the session.

“It is a political decision which came from the main leadership. This decision might strengthen the politicians’ resolve to shut down all the media outlets which are inconvenient to the leadership,” Corneliu Mihalache said.

NIT channel broadcasted in Moldova since 1997 having a national coverage.

BTJunkie torrent website was shut down voluntarily at the end of last week. It was one of the most popular user-generated content website.

BTJunkie.org was among the top 5 torrent websites, storing more than four million active files.

“This is the end of the line my friends. The decision does not come easy, but we’ve decided to voluntarily shut down. We’ve been fighting for years for your right to communicate, but it’s time to move on,” shows the webpage at the moment.

The closure comes after several countries have signed the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) which is designed to punish those who violate the intellectual property rights.

The internet users will protest on February 11 against ACTA. Access, which is an organization that states it is a “new global movement for digital freedom” is trying to mobilize people to rally against the agreement.

“Protests are being organized all over the globe to show the European Parliament that they must reject ACTA. Though many countries have signed the treaty already, if the EP rejects ACTA, it will be sent into the dustbin on history!” says Access.

NASA discovers new alien planets

Twenty-six new exoplanets have been discovered by NASA scientists seeking to locate planets outside our solar system. The alien planets were found orbiting stars in 11 newly discovered solar systems by the Kepler telescope, which the U.S. space agency operates.

The exoplanets range in size from slightly larger than Earth to larger than the gas giant Jupiter in our solar system. They were discovered by Kepler, a space telescope which stares at 150,000 stars in a narrow sliver of the night sky from its perch orbiting the sun.

The alien planets orbit their host stars, which are bigger than the sun, once every six to 143 days. The largest of the newly-discovered solar systems, called Kepler-33, hosts five exoplanets ranging in size from one-and-a-half to five times Earth’s size.

Doug Hudgins is the program scientist with the Kepler mission. Hudgins says scientists do not believe any of the newly discovered exoplanets could support life.

“All of them are in orbits that are smaller than our Earth’s orbit around our sun. So they would be fairly hot planets,” Hudgins said.

In the two years since the Kepler began observing the cosmos, scientists have discovered 61 exoplanets and some 2,300 candidate planets that need to be verified through further observations.

Kepler identifies exoplanets by continuously monitoring the brightness of a distant star in its narrow field. A planet orbiting its host sun casts a faint shadow that is detected by Kepler [Photo gallery: Kepler planets].

The telescope confirms planetary candidates by measuring so-called Transit Timing Variations, or TTVs, which occur when two or more planets in a tightly packed solar system orbit their host stars.

The gravitational pull of each passing planet causes one to speed up and another to slow down, according to Hudgins, helping astronomers confirm a planetary observation

“If you had something that was just mimicking a planet transit, they wouldn’t interact. The fact that you see these transit timing variations tells us that there’s a gravitational interaction and that tells us that these really have to be planets because they are interacting with each other," Hudgins said.

Hudgins says the ultimate goal for planet hunters is a telescope that can separate the light of a dimmer planet from its bright star, allowing scientists to study its electromagnetic spectrum.

The information gleaned from the light spectrum could tell astronomers what gases make up a planet’s atmosphere and possibly even some surface characteristics, according to Hudgins, who is anxious to find signs of life.

“That’s why we do this. That’s the exciting thing, We are addressing one of the oldest and most fundamental questions of humankind. And that is, are we alone?,” Hudgins said.

Hudgins believes such a telescope will be built in his lifetime, allowing Kepler scientists to move on to the next phase of their discovery mission.
